Smith Wigglesworth 1939 Prophecy

In 1939 World War II was about ready to break out. Lester Sumrall was in his twenties. He was working in a Bible school in England and he got to know Smith Wigglesworth. He read his books and heard about his ministry. He had been going over and visiting Smith Wigglesworth in his home for several years. Every other week he would visit him. Smith Wigglesworth would also have Brother Sumrall to speak at his conventions.

One day, Lester Sumrall went to tell Smith Wigglesworth that a police officer had come to his door and told him that everyone who was not an English citizen would have to leave the country. Hitler was threatening to come across the English Channel, so all foreigners had to leave.

The young Sumrall explained to the elder minister, “I came to say goodbye to you. I appreciate all that you have put in to me.” Now, here was a young minister in his twenties,and here was a man in his eighties ho wanted to give his gift to somebody.

Smith Wigglesworth told the young minister, “I want to bless you.” So he held him and said,”Lord, everything that I have, bless him with it! Give it to him!” Smith Wigglesworth started weeping as he pulled Brother Sumrall in closer.

“He was a big man, and as he held me close into him, his tears rolled off his face and they would hit me in my face,” Brother Sumrall explained.

Wigglesworth cried saying, “I probably won’t see you again now. My job is almost finished.”

As he continued to pray, he cried “I see it, I see it!”

Brother Sumrall asked, “What do you see, what do you see?

He said, “I see a healing revival coming right after World War II. It’ll be so easy to get people healed. I see it! I see it! I won’t be here for it, but you will be.” And there was a healing revival right after the war.

He continued to prophesy, “I see another one. I see people of all different denominations being filled with the Holy Ghost.” That was the Charismatic Revival. God raised up people during that era, like the Full Gospel Businessmen.

Then Brother Wigglesworth continued, “I see another move of God. I see auditoriums full of people, coming with notebooks. There will be a wave of teaching on faith and healing.” We did experience that wave he saw, and we call it the Word of Faith movement.

Then he prophesied, “After that, after the third wave,” he started sobbing. “I see the last day revival that’s going to usher in the precious fruit of the earth. It will be the greatest revival this world has ever seen! It’s going to be a wave of the gifts of the Spirit. The ministry gifts will be flowing on this planet earth. I see hospitals being emptied out, and they will bring the sick to the churches where they allow the Holy Ghost to move

I Am The Enemy Of?

“In that day the LORD of hosts will be for a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty to the Remnant of His people, for a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, and for strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.” Isaiah 28:5-6

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.  “You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?  “Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. “A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Matthew 7:15-18

TV Evangelist and pastor Benny Hinn stated: ‘You cannot win attacking the servants of the Lord, no matter who they are or what they’ve done …if the anointing ever comes upon a man, don’t touch that man, even if he turns away from God, and serves the devil, Don’t touch him. You are in deep, serious danger.’ 

True shepherds of the flock of God serve as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; nor as being lords over those entrusted to them, but being examples to the flock. Unfortunately as seen by the many religious scandals in America, true shepherds are very hard to find.  Jesus clearly told us to beware of false prophets, who come to us in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves? It is to be noted that false prophets and false teachers will not appear to be false. The Word of God in 2 Corinthians 11:13 tells us that these leaders will appear to be righteous men who appear to radiate the light of Jesus.  They will be so camouflaged that many will follow them.  But that should not be?  Jesus said that His sheep would know His voice and another they will not follow.  We need to listen to the voice of Jesus daily as He speaks to us through the voice of His Holy Spirit.  Then when the false prophet comes along stealing, killing and destroying, we will not be led astray because we will know that the voice is another voice and not the voice of the great shepherd, Jesus.

False prophets will teach false doctrine such as they are the anointed ones and are not to be touched by any one but God!  One of the most common errors found in Christianity today is that particular persons, usually pastors or evangelists, are somehow more “anointed” than the average Christian. This teaching often coincides with a veiled threat in the form of “touch not mine [the Lord’s] anointed,” (I Ch. 16:22, Ps. 105:15).  While Jesus told us “But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi’; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren (Matthew 23:8)

Many prominent pastors and evangelists today make the claim that because “souls” are being saved and “healings” take place in their meetings, that this somehow validates their ministry. While these things may be well and good, they are no indication of “divine” sanction. A.A. Allen was a drunkard, Jimmy Swaggart a whoremonger, Jim Bakker a thief, Larry Lea a prevaricator, and Robert Tilton a charlatan – yet ALL of these saw thousands saved and miracles take place in their meetings. Because one is blessed with “prosperity” and has a “following” of thousands, doesn’t mean a darn thing when it comes to integrity and godly sanction, for “he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust,” (Matt. 5:45).

The idea that any person especially a religious leader be it a Bishop or a pastor has arrived or his unique anointing and gifts make him special about the rest of the body of Christ is nothing but hogwash. Jesus clearly told all that it was possible for them to practice lawlessness and be cast out of heaven. God’s word is unchanging:

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.  “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’  “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Matthew 7:21-23

“Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother.  “But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’  “And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.  “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.  Matthew 18:15-19

The terms “bind” and “loose” were Jewish idioms indicating that what is announced on earth has already been determined in heaven.  To “bind” meant to forbid, refuse, or prohibit.  To “loose” meant to permit or allow.  Here Jesus is speaking of church discipline.  Members who repent are to be restored or “loosed” and members who do not repent are to be removed or “bound”.  The decisions we make, the correction we give and the forgiveness we offer must be in harmony with God’s revealed truth in order to be binding. i.e. John 16:13

Apostle Paul in his writings about the church in Corinth talked about everything, good and bad including love and immorality and was very explicit about people’s different behavior and actions. He said, “Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition (1 Corinthians 10:11).  Some religious leaders would have us believe that when we become Christians, we must turn our minds and intellect off. as well as our reasoning and other mental faculties, and that we are not to “Judge.” Nothing is so farther from the truth as the concept of Judging in the Christian Church today.  King Solomon, the son of David, King of Israel wrote the book of Proverbs, whose purpose was stated as, “To know wisdom and instruction, to perceive the words of understanding, to receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, judgment, and equity.” (Proverbs 1:2-3). He also wrote:

”Then you will understand righteousness and justice, Equity and every good path.” (Proverbs 2:9)

“It is not good to show partiality to the wicked, or to overthrow the righteous in judgment.“ (Proverbs 18:5)

A divine sentence is on the lips of the king; His mouth must not transgress in judgment. (Proverbs 16:10)

Making right judgments and ensuring equity, fairness and justice is something that God requires of all Kings and Ministers, especially of those in Christian Leadership. One of the character traits that make a man a great leader is the ability to make righteous, true, fair and equitable judgments to all without partiality or respecting the outward appearance of a person. Rick Joyner of the Morning Star wrote about the Coming Davidic Ministry, the following:

There are basically two kinds of leaders-those who sacrifice the people for their own interests and those who sacrifice their own interests for the people. Those who have received their authority from the people rather than from the Lord will be subject to increasingly perverted views of spiritual authority, especially in relation to their own.

Once (King) Saul began to use his position for his own interests, rather than for the interests of the Lord and His people, he was subject to an increasing fall into delusion. He changed from being a servant of the people, to believing that they were his servants, to ultimately believing that they existed for him.  This same mentality has woven itself into the fabric of much of the leadership of the modern church, and it  has the same root. We often start out with a sincere vision of serving the body of Christ, and then gradually turn until we begin to think that the body of Christ exists to support our vision or ministry.

Roy Aldrich, a retired school teacher, died prematurely at the age 65, as a direct result of the stress and betrayal by his friend and pastor, Karl Strader, and the deeds and actions of his son, Daniel Strader. Roy wrote the following:

Dan Strader was convicted of stealing our life savings of $ 100,000.00 by using lies and deceit and since your question about the effect on our lives is probably the must important factor to you and the Parole Commission, let me simply repeat the words of Jerry Hill, state attorney of Polk County: “The crimes of Dan Strader have done more damage to more elderly people than any homicide that I have prosecuted ”

Dan’s thefts have forced us to sell our house and most of our personal possessions and move into a trailer. He has shown absolutely no remorse and Judge Robert Doyel who presided over this case stated: “The first step toward rehabilitation is admission of wrong doing, and therefore I feel that Dan Strader will never be rehabilitated.”

What Mr. Strader did was calculated and carefully planned with a willful disregard for the lives of others to such an unbelievable degree of extremity that my wife and I still cannot understand why anyone would try to destroy us in this fashion, especially since we had given faithful service to the Carpenter’s Church in Lakeland pastored by Karl Strader, Dan’s Father.

The leadership of the Assembly of God denomination both in Lakeland and Missouri would not accept the testimony of Roy Aldrich that he was robbed and raped by money changers and wolves in sheep’s clothing in the house of God. But the State of Florida who cared about justice, righteousness and truth accepted the words and testimony of Roy Aldrich about the Strader’s.  The State prosecutors proved their case and convinced the jurors that Dan Strader devised an elaborate scheme to attract cash in the real-estate and mortgage investments. He was selling the securities without a license and that the securities were unregistered. This was done in an organized method amounting to Racketeer-Influence and Corrupt Organizations, or RICO Act.  As a result Daniel Strader, 37, was sentenced to 45 years in prison in August 1995. He was convicted of 238 felony counts for bilking 57 mostly elderly investors, some members of the church, out of $2.3 million by selling investments in properties that didn’t exist or already had liens against them.

Roy Aldrich also wrote the following letter, which in his usual style Roy distributed to others

CHARGES AGAINST PASTOR STRADER

We have been told that no formal charges have been filed against our pastor, so I would like to suggest that he is guilty of many things, perhaps too numerous to mention, which include the following:

1.  He should be charged with building the Carpenter’s Home Church into one of the finest churches in the world
2.  He should be charged with loving all people, even his critics.
3.  He should be charged with being an aggressive soul winner.
4. He should be charged with praying for the healing of bodies and spirits.
5.  He should be charged with a vision for missionary efforts all around the world.
6.  He should be charged with memorizing Scripture and becoming a master preacher.
7. He should be charged With spreading the Gospel around the world by radio and television.
8.  He should be charged with being a strong family man.
9.  He should be charged with defending his wife.
10. He should be charged with deliverance’s made through Spiritual Warfare Ministries.
11. He should be charged with supporting our Easter and Christmas programs.
12  He should be charged with teaching the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
13. He should be charged with praying in the Spirit everyday.
14. He should be charged with creating a good working atmosphere for the staff.
15. He should be charged with getting the finest guest speakers for Our church.
16. He should be charged with opposing the works of the devil.
17. He should be charged with asking forgiveness for his mistakes.

The above list of charges implies that Pastor Strader is guilty and should spent the next ten years or so at hard labor working as the God’s placed leader of the Carpenter’s Home Church.

Later, Roy was to write one of his best letters which I consider a classic to Karl Strader  in January, 1995 in regard to his Sunday sermons on ‘Enemies’ which included the following remarks:

I would like to join the ranks of those who Karl Straders counts as his “enemies.” by the following statements:

1)   I am the enemy of lying and deception which hurts and robs people.
2)   I am the enemy of those who practice cruelty in the administration of any corporation, especially churches.
3)   I am the enemy of any minister who allows the use of his pulpit for personal vendettas.
4)   I am the enemy of any minister who uses his pulpit for soliciting public and personal sympathy over controversial matters involving his family.
5)   I am the enemy of every minister in the world whose sense of right and wrong is based on nepotism and favoritism.
6)   I am the enemy of the policy of Karl Strader who raised $52,000.00  for Dan’s defense fund and $58,000.00 for repairing a roof and not one dime for his son’s elderly and devastated victims.
7)    I am the enemy of the disrespect represented in the Strader attitude towards the State Attorney and Judge Robert Doyel, a true servant of God.
8)   I am the enemy of the policies of secret salaries which conceal huge benefits flowing from trusting church members to their leaders- salaries which provide sumptuous life styles, while at the same time, these same leaders are firing and traumatizing the “little people” under their care like Cindy Deaton, Patricia Aldrich, Jack and Betty Collins.
9)   I am the enemy of huge personal gain to Karl Strader and Joe Perez derived from their secret management fees from the CHC Life Center Retirement Estates.
10)  I am the enemy of the thinking that some claimed “anointing” or supposed special privilege with God gives anyone the right to turn a Christian church into their own personal “cash-cow.”
11)  I am the enemy of the thinking expressed in the attached sermon outline which implies that the welfare of CHC is determined by any one man or family. We are supposed to worship Christ, and not the Straders.
12)  I am the enemy of any minister who uses his oratorical ability to rally church audiences into cheerleading and other emotional excess as a device to shore up a crumbling personal empire.
13)  I am an enemy of any organization that suggests opposing the leader’s lifestyle and words is opposing God.

Why do you not see that this is DEMONIC THIRD WAVE CHURCH? Joshua Mills along with so many others in the Charismatic Church are being used to deceive millions. He claimed to have eaten gold leaves from the tree of life, he claimed that God sent oil from Heaven by way of his feet, and he stood on cloths and sold them for a donation (but it’s only free if you send him a generous contribution first), his wife claims their son was born covered in gold dust…and, remember the time that he said his water turned to wine? He was in his hotel room when it happened, of course. Now Mills is claiming that in a meeting in Auckland, New Zealand, during a super-uber anointed service, a lady saw Jesus standing above the congregation. He claims the lady saw Jesus with tears streaming down His face and His arms stretched out wide. He then says a drop of blood fell from Jesus’s forehead, and it fell into the congregation. He says he didn’t know this “vision” was going on – he didn’t find that out until later – but as coincidence would have it, he all of a sudden felt a drop of a warm liquid in his hand. Looking down, he saw a drop of blood from Jesus Christ Himself!

Gordon told about this specific lady went to a Toronto airport meeting recently  and had  so called gold dust stuck all over her body and it would not come off. Gordon made her repent for going there and prayed for her deliverance and it left!

Gordon said a dentist examined the so called gold teeth on 34 people including John Arnott and it turned out they were not gold on them but sulfur which is a chemical reaction on the teeth. The so called Jewels and stones that appear in the meetings are also a joke as they have no monetary value!

And he pointed out that 1 Corinthians 4 says all of these signs and wonders are wrong as they are not in the New Testament beyond what is written
1 Corinthians 4: 6 now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other.

Gordon also said all TV evangelists and ministries today are off the wall because they are all about money and money is the root of all evil and especially the food salesman Jim Bakker, adulterous Peter Youngren, the deceiving Benny Hinn.

GORDON ALSO POINTED OUT THAT ALL THESE TV EVANGELISTS ARE ACCOUNTABLE TO NO ONE BUT THEMSELVES OR THEIR HAND PICKED BOARD. He said people were to stay away from Third Wave events and stop trusting any TV evangelist or preacher!

David Yonggi Cho of Yoido full gospel church, the world largest Pentecostal church, has some serious problems.  Yonggi has been indicted on charges of breach of trust by prosecutors.  The indictment involves millions in misappropriated church money and additional charges of tax evasion.

Yonggi, 77, senior pastor at the church is suspected of breach of trust resulting in 10 billion won (us$9.2 million) in losses to his church. Also he is being investigated on suspicion of 6 billion won (us$5.52 million) in tax evasion.

Cho’s son, hee-jun, 48,the secretary general for the church, has already been taken into custody over the matter, which has shaken the religious community.

The bottom line is Third Wave preachers and fools and deceivers still get sick. They still die of cancer unhealed. Their marriages fall apart. They struggle with alcohol. They commit adultery. They are devoid of real honesty, integrity, truth and accountability. They run away from constructive biblical criticism, judgment and rebuke and throw false words around like “Judge Not!” Touch not my anointed” and “You are off the devil.” Their arrogance and snobbery stinks to high heaven! Their so called miracles and healing are not substantiated or documented in the news media!  They would like to have us believe that Jesus said:
“When I go away i will send the Holy Spirit who will cause you to twitch, shake, quake and behave like animals?”

They love to talk about “soaking” but there are negative sides to soaking that nobody talks about and the fact that many are simply losing their minds and are being put on psychotropic drugs because they are “bi-polar” or “schizophrenic” which completes the job of the devil totally stealing their minds. There are millions now ensnared by the powers of the Devil while many brainless pastors stand over them fanning them with their new gospel MANTRA of shouting, “more lord, more lord,” which shows people jerking, twitching, acting like animals; barking like dogs; mooing like cows; howling like hyenas’; clucking like chickens; laughing uncontrollably and even having imaginative sexual experiences on the carpets of churches. This insane, feel good gospel may be filling their churches sinful people but it is also filling it with hardcore devils and pay day is just around the corner – EMPTY CHURCHES and God’s judgment!

And then we have the “Carpet Time”! During the so called Revival conducted by Rodney Howard Browne, in 1993-94, in the now nonexistent defunct Carpenter’s Home Church in Lakeland Florida, many people spent “Carpet Time” on the floor. And what good did it produce them or anybody including Dan Strader who was robbing and raping the sheep with the help of his father Senior Pastor Karl Strader during the revival? None!

Few had heard of Rodney Howard-Browne before he led a series of revival meetings in Lakeland, Florida in 1993. A lot has happened since then; some of it is commendable, and some of it is reprehensible. In theory Browne came to America from South Africa to “revive” a largely sleeping church. He quickly got labeled as a Holy Ghost “bartender” because of the manifestations of “holy laughter” dominating his ministry. In his meetings he taught that no only it was the pastor’s job to fleece the sheep but only God was to judge pastors, not the (dumb) sheep! He also taught that thieves were to be blessed and rewarded, not judged for this is what Jesus would want them to do! He also taught that it was more important to give than to receive and spend a lot of time receiving offerings that he spent on himself and family members. Rodney learned about nepotism from his good friend Senior Pastor Karl Strader of Carpenter’s Home Church, Lakeland, Florida, for the bible stated:

1TM 5:8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

South African Pentecostal Evangelist Rodney Howard-Browne, a white supremacist in theology, who immigrated with all his brothers and parents to United States became a naturalized American and taught that “sheep needed to be fleeced or they would have too much hair and could not see where they are going.. It was the pastor’s job to fleece the sheep had been credited with bringing the laughter revival to America. But from what really happened in Carpenter’s Home Church in 1993 and 1994 and its devastating effect on the community including the robbing, raping and murdering of the sheep, was not much of a revival.

Roy Aldrich, a retired school teacher, was robbed of $100,000.00 by Pastor Karl Strader and his son Dan Strader of Carpenter’s Home Church Lakeland, Florida. Rodney, who was a personal friend of Karl Strader who practiced nepotism, and bought him a Lincoln town car, was asked to help the elderly victims who were robbed by the Straders and he refused. But when German Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke’s decided to relocate his ministry to Florida, Rodney Howard-Browne decided he would give Bonnke a house. At first he offered Bonnke his own house in Tampa, but Bonnke had to locate in Orlando to be closer to his operational base. It was then that Howard-Browne decided to build Bonnke a new $250,000 home in Orlando. Rodney then drove a brand new car to Bonnke’s driveway.

How gracious and wonderful of Rodney to be a respecter of persons to the high and mighty and to ignore the real plight of the poor and needy?

Many Third Wave Pentecostals whose prophecies are false and are really ignorant of Scriptures like to spend “Carpet Time” and compete with each other as if it were some kind of a competition to see who is more spiritual than the other. None of them is “spiritual” in terms of the Holy Spirit but, being harassed and possessed with demons, they are satisfied with a so-called counterfeit “form of religion denying the power of it” (2 Tim. 3: 5). The rest of the verse says, “Avoid such people.” The Greek word means to “turn one’s self away”. And, if they do not turn away, they have nobody to blame but themselves. What they don’t realize is that if you are soaking yourself in bad teaching, a person will drown themselves to the point that they will lose their salvation or never be able to know the full life of Salvation and the real Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Fortunately, we have seen many of such people come for help and receive the exciting new life in Jesus Christ empowered by the Baptism of Holy Spirit. The uncontrolled shaking epileptic-like symptoms disappear immediately after we cast the demons out and is replaced with Fruit of the Spirit: “love, joy, peace,self-control, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control” (Gal. 5: 22 – 23). Soaking results in “spiritual drowning”!

The Holy Spirit is a person of Integrity and Rodney Howard Browne, Richard Roberts and Karl Strader are not only wolves in sheep’s Clothing but devoid of integrity. Rodney is known for teaching that the pastors must fleece and sheep and Richard was forced to resign as President of ORU for embezzlement of money. Rodney arrived in America penniless and became a multi millionaire without doing an honest day’s work. And the Roberts “seed faith” teaching is just a shrewd method to rob the poor and needy and make the Roberts rich!

Yes the so called Third Wave leaders who are also supposed to be Apostles, Prophets and men of God not only have no integrity but are liars, thieves, manipulators and scoundrels. Their leaders suffer from Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD)   in which a person is excessively preoccupied with personal adequacy, power, prestige and vanity, mentally unable to see the destructive damage they are causing to themselves and to others in the process and they include scoundrels Rodney Howard Browne, Richard Roberts, Stephen Strader, Todd Bentley, Bill Johnson, Benny Hinn and Patricia King. And let’s not forget Rick Joyner, Stacey Campbell, Dutch Sheets, and Peter C. Wagner).

Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

1 John 3:8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10

God didn’t create the Wilderness of Eden but the Garden of Eden? And when God first created the Garden of Eden and put man there, there was no poverty or sickness there at all. It was a beautiful lush rich place abounding with every good thing.  It was a fertile, well-cultivated region, not a desert or wasteland? Contrary to what many religious leaders teach and preach there is no value in poverty or in the fear of being rich. God, who supplied miraculously Adam’s every need in the Garden of Eden and has freely given us all things, delights in the prosperity of His servants. It’s the jealous devil who is against God’s people having money and being prosperous.  It is also true when people are poor God is robbed of pleasure and when people do not have enough to give, God is denied pleasure. God’s word is true:

Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion Who rejoice at my hurt; Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor  Who exalt themselves against me.  Let them shout for joy and be glad,  Who favor my righteous cause;  And let them say continually, “Let the LORD be magnified,  Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.” Psalm 35:26-27

Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. Philippians 4:18

So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.  2 Corinthians 9:7

There are those religious fools who believe that poverty and sickness are the will of God and use Apostle Paul as an example to prove their case! But they never ask for God to give them more of poverty and sickness and they use the services of a doctor to try and get delivered or ask strangers for money to support them in their so called work of the Lord!  If God’s will wasn’t prosperity for man He would not have created the Garden of Eden and put man in charge there. He would have created a barren wasteland and wilderness and put man to suffer there?  But God cannot stand wastelands and wilderness and He gets glory by changing them into fruitful fields and forests. God’s word is unchanging:

The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose;  It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, Even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it,  The excellence of Carmel and Sharon.  They shall see the glory of the LORD,  The excellency of our God. Isaiah 35:1-2

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9

Prosperity and Healing is God’s will for man and it’s a good transition from a negative circumstance to a positive one, especially because of Jesus being wounded for our transgression and being bruised for our iniquities. As a result the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. The word “peace” in the Bible includes the idea of our well-being in every area of life not just our bodies.  Jesus became poor, not to set an example — but that we might become rich! The price has been paid for our prosperity for poverty is a curse, not a blessing, and God’s word is unchanging:

“But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:  “Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country.  “Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.  “Cursed shall be the fruit of your body and the produce of your land, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.  “Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.   “The LORD will send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings in which you have forsaken Me. Deuteronomy 28:15-20

Yes true Christians believe in prosperity and the wholeness of man because that was the original state of man in the Garden of Eden until sin and Satan entered the picture. They don’t believe in poverty and sickness because Jesus never preached or demonstrated that it was the will of God.

God has no problem healing us, but we have a problem believing it. There is no lack with God, but we experience lack because of unbelief. There is actually more than you can handle with God, cup running over, get extra jars and pots and pour out the oil until all are full, water pots filled with the best wine, so many fish the nets began to break, they took up twelve baskets full of bread and fish fragments after all 5000 ate, there is more than enough, much more than enough. What causes lack? Unbelief. Unbelief also causes you not to enter God’s rest. Why don’t you just rest and believe God today? Remove the cork. Believe!

Many times Christians struggle to manifest prosperity according to the world’s standards. However, prosperity according to God’s Word extends beyond any prosperity we can ever find in the world. Prosperity from God makes us whole in every area of life. It is a prosperity that goes beyond a dollar amount. True prosperity is Christ-centered, and it comes from a complete dependence upon Jesus Christ.

Society’s definition of prosperity is limited to finances; however, God’s definition of prosperity means wholeness.

To prosper spiritually you must be a born-again Christian.

To prosper physically means you are healed and healthy in your body.

We prosper as our soul prospers (3 John 1:2-4, AMP).

To prosper within the soul begins with the process of transforming your mind with God’s Word.

The soul of man consists of the mind, will (decision making), and emotions.

The enemy attacks our thinking. Wrong thinking prevents our prosperity.

Now Jesus Christ operated in all the gifts of the  Spirit and because Christ lives in every true Spirit filled believer they can also do the same!  God’s word is unchanging.

Acts 6

5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude. And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch, …8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people.

Acts 8:5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. 6 And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.7 For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. 8 And there was great joy in that city.

2 Corinthians 12:12 Truly the signs of an apostle were accomplished among you with all perseverance, in signs and wonders and mighty deeds.

It’s to be noted that Stephen and Phillip were not apostles but layman who were full of faith, power and the Holy Spirit and did great wonders and signs among the people! Ahd the gifts of thee Spirit were given to the church of Jesus Christ as long as it exists on earth:

1 Corinthians 12:28 And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.

The basis of Full Gospel of Jesus Christ is that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever, He is in the now by the power of the Holy Spirit. And God confirms the preaching of His word with miracles, signs and wonders following!

Faith is the currency of the kingdom of God used by God’s believing people   to obtain whatever  we need including salvation, healing, deliverance miracles and financial blessings.

Evangelicals of all persuasions including Pentecostals rob people of great blessings when they deny and don’t preach on the importance of faith  while the word of God tells us how important it truly is:

HEBREWS 11:30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days. 31 By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace. 32    And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: 33    who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34    quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

True believers in Christ, Christians, walk in Holy Ghost power that gives proof of the resurrection. This is way more than quoting a bible scripture, teaching a nice Sunday school class or sharing with a friend at the coffee shop. Jesus said, “He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do because I go unto my Father” (John 14:12).

Before a person can receive the benefits of salvation they need to know what belongs to them. This is confirmed in the scripture, “Faith cometh for by hearing and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:17). Once you know what belongs to you then all you need to do is receive it. That goes as much for deliverance from unclean spirits as it does for physical healing. The Apostle Paul wrote that he prayed for believers to come to the place where they knew what belonged to them in Christ. Today we could call those the benefits of salvation. He wrote,

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church.” (Ephesians 1:17-22)

Apostle Paul’s ministry wasn’t to entertain the believers!

1 COR. 2:4-5 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Paul preached in the power of the fullness of god’s blessings and not just words

ROMANS 15:17    Therefore I have reason to glory in Christ Jesus in the things which pertain to God. 18    For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not accomplished through me, in word and deed, to make the Gentiles obedient — 19    in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

…29    But I know that when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.

Preaching a half truth is to preach a lie. It is sin and demonic not to preach the whole gospel that Jesus Christ is not only Lord, but savior, healer, provider, deliverer, miracle worker and Baptizer in the Holy Spirit who confirms the preaching by His true ones with miracles signs and wonders following like Philip had. And to have a form of godliness while denying its power is sin and rebellion!

Yes Jesus was a Pentecostal so why would that make some Christians upset?  Jesus, was filled with the holy spirit, led by the holy spirit, operated in the gifts of the holy spirit to heal the sick, cast out demons and raise the dead? Also, the disciples were same as they followed all that Jesus taught them. So why would that make them angry unless it’s the devil doing it because they need deliverance for not doing the same?

Why do evangelicals ignore the words of Jesus that  the baptism of the spirit gives true Christians power which carnal anemic impotent Christians don’t have:

ACTS 1:4    And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; 5    for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” 6    Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7    And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. 8    But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Many so called bible believing Christians are real  nuts who worship the bible above Jesus Christ whom they don’t obey. They offer a wimpy anemic counterfeit Jesus who loves everybody and wants everybody in heaven and ignore the fact that Jesus Christ who is the same yesterday, today and forever is a man of war who kills His enemies! They have a form of godliness and deny its power. They are devoid of truth, miracle, signs and wonders contrary to the commands of Jesus (Mark 16:14-20). They are devoid of wisdom and discernment as defined by Isaiah 11:1-6 and 1 Corinthians 2:1-16. They hate the gifts of the Spirit and don’t practice them (1 Corinthians 12-14)

All they ever do is talk and talk and talk and judge others as not being Christians! They throw true Christians out of their anemic impotent useless churches! They preach that suffering and poverty is the will of God and miracles have ceased but when they are sick they run to a doctor instead of accepting sickness as the will of God. They think they are on the way to heaven when in reality they are on the way to hell as they are the foolish virgins (Matthew 25:1-12). They are nothing but a cult!

Paul mentioned such people who refused the Baptism of the Holy Spirit in 1 Cor. 14: 23 – 24. The Greek word that he uses to describe them is “idiotai” (plural), “idiotes” (singular) which means they are spiritual “idiots” but usually translated as “ungifted” of “unskilled” or laymen, amateurs, unskilled  people.  They do not want the Holy Spirit nor do they want the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.  But they want to be involved in churches and prevent the real work of God which requires the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.  They are people who want what God has without coming under His Lordship which requires the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the “Signs” of the Holy Spirit.  They are like the Pharisees of whom Jesus said, “for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God” (Jn. 12: 3). Samuel told Saul, “Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness as iniquity and idolatry.  Because you have rejected the word of the LORD (Yahweh), he has also rejected you from being king” (1 Sam. 15: 23).  This aplies today who do not want to do what Jesus requires of them.

They think that because they have prayed the “sinner’s prayer” that they can ignore what the Scriptures require and not lose their Salvation.  That’s the reason why Jesus warn us in Revelation 3: 5 that when somebody turns away from Him, they can have their names blotted out (removed) from the Book of Life.  Also: Heb. 6: 1 – 8; 2 Pet. 2: 20 – 22; Proverbs 26: 11.  Jesus aptly warns us, “Beware of false prophets  which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.  You will know them by their fruits.  Do men gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles” (Matt. 7: 15: 16).

Dispensationalism is the product of people who want to re-organize the Kingdom of Heaven according to their warped thinking. These people don’t like God’s Biblical Church Organization and they have re-organized it in such a way to eliminate His Grace by replacing it with their own ideas.  They have a real problem with God’s Covenant Relationship.  So, they have a lot of problems relating to the New Testament and try to explain the Bible in their unbiblical ways.

I dislike powerless evangelicals and fundamentalists who put great emphasis on doctrines and ignore the gifts of the Spirit. They talk much but don’t cast out devils instead cast out people from their churches. They don’t heal the sick but instead make people sick with their doctrines of demons. The bible says of them:

2 Timothy 3:5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

Sin is not the problem. The problem is that these people have not asked, believed or received God’s full gospel of Christ. They are trying to do it on their own in their own human frailty. Jesus, said “it is finished”. Yes, Jesus already paid in full everything on our behalf.

Whenever a church or denomination loses its power  and effectiveness because it stopped being full of faith, wisdom, holy spirit and power , it starts to trust in the wisdom of men including Pauline doctrines conjured out of Paul’s epistles! Doctrines such as unlimited grace, once saved, always saved, predestination, women cannot preach, pastors are to rule churches, love is the greatest, miracles have ceased, etc.

The word of God tells us that apostle Paul never intended that his writings be a substitute for having our faith in the power of God but in the wisdom of men.

Too many people have tried to be “Christians” on their own strength and without the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

However fleshly carnal ones love things they can control including doctrine and understanding of scriptures since they cannot control the Holy Spirit and His gifts including miracles.

As a result the fleshly ones  who are devoid of power and truth hate  Jesus commands and statements in  Mark 16:14 Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.15    And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16    He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.17    And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18    they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” 19    So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.20    And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.

The reason why so many people do not want to receive the Holy Spirit and accept the work of the Holy Spirit through speaking in the new real languages that Jesus wants us to have is that they only want Jesus to be their Saviour and not their Lord (Matt. 7: 21 – 23).  They are in rebellion against Jesus being Lord and God.  They are the ones of whom Jesus referred when He said, “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; if he does, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed.  But new wine is must be put into new wineskins.  And no one after drinking new wine  desires new; for he says, “The old is better” (Lk. 5: 37 – 39).  That’s the reason why they love the OT.  They do not like the taste of the New Wine Who is the Holy Spirit.  They do not like God’s grace because it causes people, like them, to react like the workers in the Parable of the Householder or the workers hired at different times of the day and were all paid the same wage at the end of the day.  Those who worked for the full day complained that they all received the same pay (salvation).  The owner said, “Or do you begrudge my generosity?” (Matt. 20: 15).  The Greek reads, “Is your eye evil because I am good?”  These people who resist the work of the Holy Spirit want to be their own selfish selves guided by their own sinful understanding of the work of Jesus Christ or worse the devil and/demons.

It is a function of “agape love” to correct people and to call them to repentance.   Ignorant protestors, who don’t believe in public or private correction and say it’s a hateful thing to do, need to read one of Paul’s letters to Timothy.  It reads, “All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God  may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Tim. 3: 16 – 17).  Anybody who is beyond correction places themselves outside of God will.  And note it is “all Scripture” not some or whatever we don’t like.  Blind protestors are a spiritual danger to themselves and other people.

The demonized evangelicals in my part of the woods who don’t operate in the gifts of the spirit always talked about the importance of forgiving others as though it was the only thing in the bible. But some people you don’t forgive just like Jesus never forgave Judas. You don’t forgive unrepented rapists, liars, thieves, deceivers, pedophiles, lesbians  and scoundrels!

They should read their bible which clearly talks about pedophiles and says in Luke 17 about the woe that will come to them:
1    Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come! 2  It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. 3    Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.

It is not true that as some Third Wave fools claim that” health and wealth ends with man, and signs and wonders with Jesus.”  Yes I have seen more extremes and fruit loops in the signs and wonders camp than anywhere else. Chasing non biblical signs and wonders that have nothing to do with Jesus. I hear more of Jesus being preached and sound biblical teaching from Word of Faith then the others. When gold dust, gold teeth and so called angel feathers are chased (and I have seen people crawling around on the floor looking for gold dust, gems etc.) over an encounter with the Lord something is wrong. There is more preaching about the fluff and stuff then Jesus! Time and time again people have been caught planting such foolishness. So this camp is no better where exalting Jesus is concerned then those that do pollute the prosperity message. I am all about the glory of God and His presence, but a lot of the foolishness going on with the signs and wonders camp are no better than the extremes of some in Word of Faith. The Bible tells us what signs believers are to expect and they are to follow us, not us chase after them!

When I lived in Florida from 1994 I personally experienced the lying signs and wonders and the false counterfeit Christ preached by fools such as Rodney Howard Browne, Pastor Karl Strader. Pastor Stephen Strader, Pastor Ron Clark, and Bishop Randy White.  I went to many of their meetings and found these pastors to be egotistic Third Wave fools. I especially dislike Rodney Howard Browne and his brothers. Rodney tried to raise his daughter from the dead and failed and I never saw him operate in the gifts of the spirit. He was a deceiving coward who taught pastors that the sheep existed to be fleeced and was robbed by Pastor Karl Strader of thousands of dollars during the revival meetings held in Lakeland. So he blessed Karl for it and bought him a new Lincoln town car not with his own money but with the money of the dumb sheep. he and his brothers are stupid false Pentecostal nuts

Rodney never earned his doctorate degree as it is an honorary one – he is nothing but a “loud mouth” who has told others that “Walter hates pastors” while the truth is “Walter hates false egotistic deceiving pastors” who also do not demonstrate a deliverance ministry but a thieving ministry.

Sadly they did not receive the word and said I was wrong and was not hearing God, they said ‘we will see in the future the fruits and who is right, and whoever is wrong can apologies to the other’ Now nearly six years later there has been no apology, no restoration my relationship with my family was ruined and is yet to be restored. I believe that Todd Bentley and his fake revival caused such division amongst believers that the true extent of damage caused is immeasurable, certainly far outweighing any claimed good that was ever achieved.

These so called revival meetings have caused many people to become sick rather than finding healing. Their reports tell us of false prophecies, of gold teeth which when examined by dentists are just discolored yellow caused by sulphur in the air, gold dust that disappears, and cheap imitation so-called jewels which are poor imitations but are copies of the them similar to what I bought in a children’s store. The jeweler told them that they were “valueless” which they mistook for being “invaluable”. In other words, they were “of no value or use; worthless”. The medical examinations of people who thought they had been healed were disappointing because, like Todd thought, participation in such meetings would result in healing and good health as we see happening in real full gospel meetings. He has been deluded in these meetings and misled by false prophecies, false everything. We have had to set more people free from these false blessing possessions!

In all of Todd’s so-called meetings, he has grieved (Eph. 4: 30), quenched (1 Thess. 5: 19), outraged the Holy Spirit the Spirit of Grace (Heb. 10: 29) and blasphemed (Mk. 3: 28 – 30). He has lived and publicly displayed the “works of the flesh” (Gal. 5: 19 – 21). He turned worship into a self-centered X-rated entertainment (1 Cor. 14: 26f.). He has danced with the devil/Satan as if he, the devil, was God. The result is that he has been living under the wrath of God (Rom. 1:18, 2: 8) mistaking it for the blessing of God. He has gone beyond what is written (1 Cor. 4: 6) and has gone beyond what is written and has become “puffed up in favor of one against another. He has become what Jesus said to the Sadducees, “You are wrong because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God” (Matt. 22: 29).

What God has made clean, don’t call unclean. If you cannot believe for miracles, you have joined the wrong religion. Everything about the life of Jesus is a miracle. How do you find yourself in a pew with no miracles, no faith, and no joy? How do you call that “worshipping God”? You have to believe to receive. This is not make believe. This is not clappy hands and smiles. This is God, trying desperately to save you in spite of yourself. But if you are offended by the Holy Spirit of God, If you call it demonic. If you call good evil and evil good. Then guess what? The Lord has a controversy with you, because there is innocent blood on your hands. Not just your own blood but the blood of all those you prevented from entering in. If you must be a blind guide, hurry up and fall in the ditch where you belong. But as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.

Yes, there are phony signs and wonders from false prophets, but when does that EVER negate the true reality of God All-mighty making a way where there is no way in the midst of your calamity? God is a way maker, a dream maker. Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, and it has not entered into your little blessed heart, all the things God has for you. Blessings and miracles a plenty. But won’t it be sad to get to heaven and see all the things the Lord had for you that you never received, because you would not believe. The blame is on you, not on God. He gave His only son, Jesus. He became poor that you might become rich. He died for your salvation. He took the stripes for your healing. Stop asking Jesus to do more for you than He has already done. Rather, GET UP! Pick up your sleeping pad and go home. Stop being a LAME person hanging around the church waiting for a miracle. Jesus is the miracle. Believe on Him and be saved. Believe on Jesus and be delivered. 6 Really Bad Charismatic Doctrines We Should Retire

I will never apologize for being a charismatic Christian. I had a dramatic experience with the Holy Spirit many years ago, and nobody can talk me out of it. I love the Holy Spirit’s abiding presence in my life and His supernatural gifts. I love to prophesy, speak in tongues, pray for the sick and see people changed by the Spirit’s power.

At the same time, I’m aware that since the charismatic movement began in the 1960s, people have misused the gifts of the Spirit and twisted God’s Word to promote strange doctrines or practices. Seeing these errors never caused me to question the authenticity of what the Holy Spirit had done in my life. But I knew I had to stay true to God’s Word and reject any false teachings I encountered.

My simple rule is based on 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22: “But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil” (NASB). In other words: Eat the meat and spit out the bones.

As I have traveled throughout the body of Christ in recent years, I’ve experienced the good, the bad and the ugly. I love God’s people, and I know there is a healthy remnant of Spirit-filled churches that are striving to stay grounded in biblical truth. But I also know we have reached a crossroads. We must clean up our act. We must jettison any weird doctrines we might have believed or practiced that are hindering our growth today.

Here are a few of the worst errors that have circulated in our movement in the past season. You may have others that need to be added to this list. I believe we are grieving the Holy Spirit if we continue to practice these things:

1. “Touch not My anointed.” Chances are you’ve heard this weird doctrine based on 1 Chronicles 16:22. In an attempt to discourage any form of disagreement in the church, insecure leaders tell their members that if they ever question church authority, they are “touching the Lord’s anointed” and in danger of God’s judgment. Let’s call this what it is: spiritual manipulation. It creates worse problems by ruling out healthy discussion and mutual respect. Church members end up being abused or controlled—or even blacklisted because they dare to ask a question.

2. Dual covenant. We charismatics love and respect Israel. Some of us even incorporate Jewish practices in our worship—such as wearing prayer shawls, blowing shofars or celebrating Hebraic feasts. These things can enrich our Christian experience—but some leaders go too far when they begin to teach that Jews don’t need to believe in Jesus Christ to experience salvation. They imply that Jews have special access into heaven simply because of their ethnic heritage. This is a flagrant contradiction of everything the New Testament teaches.

3. Inaccessible leadership. In the 1980s, some charismatic ministries began to teach pastors and traveling ministers that in order to “protect the anointing,” they must stay aloof from people. Ministers were warned to never make friends in their congregations. Preachers began the strange practice of skipping worship on Sunday mornings—and then appearing on the stage only when it was time for the sermon in order to make a dramatic entrance. Shame on these people for attempting to justify arrogance. Jesus loved people, and He made Himself available to them. So should we.

4. Armor-bearers. The same guys who developed item No. 3 started this strange fad. Preachers began the practice of surrounding themselves with an entourage: one person to carry the briefcase, another person to carry the Bible, another to carry the handkerchief. Some preachers hired bodyguards … and even food-tasters! The armor-bearers were promised special blessings if they served preachers who acted like slave-owners. Reminder: True leaders are servants, not egomaniacs.

5. The hundredfold return. Before his death in 2003, Kenneth Hagin Sr., the father of the faith movement, rebuked his own followers for taking prosperity teaching to a silly extreme. In his book The Midas Touch, he begged preachers to stop misusing Mark 10:28-30 to suggest that God promises a hundredfold return on every offering we give. Hagin wrote, “If the hundredfold return worked literally and mathematically for everyone who gave in an offering, we would have Christians walking around with not billions or trillions of dollars, but quadrillions of dollars!” Hagin taught that the hundredfold blessing refers to the rewards that come to those who leave all they have to serve God in ministry.

6. Money cometh. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for giving money publicly to be seen by others. Yet in the 1990s, some charismatics got the wild idea that God would release a magical blessing if we would drop wads of dollar bills at the preacher’s feet while he was in the middle of his sermon. Leroy Thompson of Louisiana popularized this flamboyant practice with his infamous 1996 sermon, in which he encouraged people to shout in King James English, “Money! Cometh to me now!” Then the people would run to the front of the auditorium to pour cash into his coffers. The money came, for sure, and more cash-hungry preachers jumped on the bandwagon. Taking an offering became a form of exhibitionism, and Christians began viewing their offerings like lottery scratch-offs.

God requires holiness not just in our behavior but also in our doctrine. Let’s discard these and any other foolish teachings that have brought confusion and dishonor to the body of Christ.

A Prophetic Message for Today

This prophetic word was given to strengthen & bless those who desperately need a word from God. Pastor Kilpatrick received a download from Heaven .

Pastor Kilpatrick of the famed Pensacola Revival has already been proven to be a false prophet. Hank Hanegraaff, author of the book Counterfeit Revival, criticized the revival for “serious distortions of biblical Christianity” in the meetings, comparing the physical manifestations to pagan practices.  Kilpatrick responded by issuing a prophecy aimed at Hanegraaff, claiming “within 90 days the Holy Ghost will bring you down.” This prophecy proved to be false.

The Pensacola News Journal ran a series of investigative articles which focused on the donations raised during the meetings and where those funds went, as well as the claims of miraculous healings at the services and the spontaneity of the revival’s beginnings.  For example, the News Journal revealed that a videotape of the Father’s Day service that sparked the revival showed the service went rather badly for Hill.

The News Journal had initially written favorable reports about the revival from the time it started but began a four-month investigation after former members told reporters that all was not as it appeared at the church. The series won George Polk awards from such groups as National Headliner, Scripps-Howard Foundation, and Society of Professional Journalists ] Brownsville Assembly of God responded the paper’s allegations by publishing a paid advertisement (thus shielding them from a response from the paper) in the News Journal entitled, “The Facts of The Brownsville Revival”.

J Lee Grady, editor for Charisma Magazine, was critical of the excesses and personal divisions that had grown within leadership. He also suggested that numerous former attendees were now at local Baptist churches after the traumatic events.

During the revival, nearly 200,000 people claimed they gave their lives to Jesus, and by fall 2000 more than 1,000 people who experienced the revival were taking classes at the Brownsville Revival School of Ministry. Thousands of pastors visited Brownsville and returned to their home congregations, leading to an outbreak of mini-revivals that helped the Assemblies of God recover from what some how? saw as a denominational decline.

Years after the events, the AP reports Brownsville is over $11 million in debt, largely due to the surge of people in the 90s and the drastic drop-off in donations and people attending in the 2000s.

In 1993, two years before the revival began, Brownsville’s pastor, John Kilpatrick, began directing his congregation to pray for revival.] Supporters of the revival would also cite prophecies by Dr. David Yonggi Cho, pastor of Yoido Full Gospel Church, as evidence that the revival was inspired by God. According to Cho, God told him he was “going to send revival to the seaside city of Pensacola, and it will spread like a fire until all of America has been consumed by it.”

On the Sunday the revival began, evangelist Steve Hill was the guest speaker, having been invited by Kilpatrick. A video of the Father’s Day service shows that the Father’s Day service went rather badly for Hill. However, he and Kilpatrick spread stories of “a mighty wind” that blew through the church. This account rapidly spread across the Pentecostal community, but gained little attention in the mainstream media until the Associated Press wrote about it in March 1997. In truth, Kilpatrick had been talking “revival” for several months and had gotten word that Hill wanted to lead a big revival. As word spread of what was happening at Brownsville, Hill canceled all plans to go to Russia, and preached several revival services each week for the next five years.

It was claimed that hundreds of those who attended services that day were moved to renew their faith during Hill’s sermon. In time, the church opened its doors for Wednesday-through-Saturday evening revival services to accommodate the thousands of people who arrived and waited in the church parking lot before dawn for a chance to enter the packed sanctuary.

By 1997, it was common to have lengthy and rapturous periods of singing and dancing and altars packed with hundreds of writhing or dead-still bodies from a variety of ages, races and socioeconomic conditions. As the revival progressed the testimonies of people receiving salvation were joined by claims of supernatural healings. In Steve Hill’s words, “We’re seeing miraculous healings, cancerous tumors disappear and drug addicts immediately delivered.” However, the church told local news reporters that it did not keep records of the healings. In 1997, leaders of the revival such as Hill, Kilpatrick, and Lindell Cooley (Brownsville’s worship director), traveled to cities such as Anaheim, California; Dallas, Texas; St. Louis, Missouri; Lake Charles, LA; Toledo, Ohio; and Birmingham, Alabama naming it “Awake America”.

The primary part of the revival ended in 2000 when Hill moved on to pursue other works. In 2003, Hill founded a church in the Dallas area where he now serves as senior pastor. Cooley left in October 2003.  Kilpatrick resigned as senior pastor in 2003 to form an evangelistic association of his own. Until 2006, the church continued to hold special Friday-night services that were a continuation of the event.

Aftermath

Four Fatal Flaws That Ruin Ministries

I spend a lot of time investing in young leaders—and I constantly urge them to learn from the mistakes we made in the previous move of God. I appreciate the positive things the Holy Spirit did during the charismatic movement, but we made a mess because we didn’t lead with integrity.

The apostle Paul gave us a crash course in leadership in his second letter to the Corinthians. While studying that epistle recently, I identified four of the biggest mistakes we made during the charismatic revival. I pray we’ve learned our lesson so we can avoid these flaws in the next season.

1. Charlatanism. We charismatics lost our credibility during the past 30 years because certain greedy preachers manipulated their audiences to pad their own pockets. Just as a little leaven spreads to the whole lump of dough, the charlatans ruined it for all of us.

The apostle Paul told the Corinthians, “For we are not like many, peddling the Word of God” (2 Cor. 2:17, NASB). The Greek word for peddling, kapeleuo, means “to make money by selling; to corrupt; to get gain by teaching divine truth.” How many well-known charismatic preachers started out well but ended up as pitiful peddlers, begging for dollars to pay for luxury cars and mansions they felt they needed to prove their importance? (And now some of these guys have their own reality show, The Preachers of L.A., which airs in October and features Noel Jones and Clarence McClendon.)

 2. Entitlement. Paul continually reminded the Corinthians that he was a servant: “For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus’ sake” (2 Cor. 4:5). Servanthood is the most fundamental requirement for any leader. Yet in our movement, we celebrated the opposite attitude by allowing leaders with out-of-control egos to demand special treatment.

I know of one conference speaker who routinely sends a 23-page list of requirements to churches that want her to speak! In the past, some charismatic preachers have demanded shopping money (in addition to their honorariums) and luxury accommodations; others insist they can’t travel without their “armor bearer”—basically a minion who carries a preacher’s briefcase, handkerchief and water bottle to make him look important.

News flash! Paul did not have an armor bearer, and he would have rebuked any minister who insists on acting like a fat cat.

3. Arrogance. The apostle Paul modeled teamwork. When he went to Corinth, Thessalonica or Crete, it was not The Paul Show. He traveled with Luke, Silas, Timothy and many others. He told the Corinthians, “As for Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker among you” (2 Cor. 8:23)—and Paul exhorted the church to view Titus with the same respect they showed him.

Yet in our movement, we put men on pedestals and under spotlights. We created a culture of preacher worship. Leaders began using titles. Then came the limousines and private jets. Some high-profile speakers went so far as to promote the use of bodyguards. And I know of at least one preacher who demanded that a church fly special beef to his hotel so he could have the steak he required. Pride turns men of God into monsters.

 4. Professionalism. Somebody got the bright idea a few years ago that churches should be managed like businesses. So pastors became CEOs, and ministry was put on an assembly line. Congregations became franchises competing with each other to see who could offer the coolest music, the hippest sermons and the best lobby coffee bar. But a funny thing happened on the way to the megachurch: We lost the relational touch.

I’m not against big churches, cool music or coffee bars. But my fear is that leaders today might assume they can buy success by copying the style of this month’s most popular rock-star preacher. I don’t care if you have strobe lights, fog machines, killer musicians and a home-run sermon every week. If people don’t see true brokenness in the pulpit and experience real pastoral care, they will never grow into disciples. Shallow, professional leaders produce shallow Christianity.

 Leaders must be real. Our ministry must flow out of passionate love for God and genuine love for people. The apostle Paul never wore a mask. He was touchable and affectionate. He never went through the motions. He was broken. He knew he was nothing apart from Jesus. He told the Corinthians, “Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me” (2 Cor. 12:9).

Paul told the Corinthians he was careful not to offend in any area “so that the ministry will not be discredited” (2 Cor. 6:3). I wish we had been that careful to guard what God gave us in the charismatic revival. Our flaws have grieved the Holy Spirit. Let’s trade in charlatanism for financial integrity; entitlement for servanthood; the celebrity syndrome for teamwork; and professionalism for touchable authenticity. Let’s become leaders who act like Jesus.

Dispensationalists Dispense

And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. “But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality. “Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. ‘Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth. Revelation 2:13-16

The Word of God tells us that God hates man made doctrines such as the doctrine of Nicolaitans and the doctrine of dispensationalism. One of the main problems with dispensationalism is that it permits its adherents to interpret the writings of Paul in opposition to the commandments of Jesus Christ in the Gospels, for the Gospels only apply to the Kingdom, and the writings of Paul “the Gospel of Grace” apply to the Church. This is why when you try to discuss the Scriptures with those in the modern sects, they are either bewildered by the commandments of Jesus Christ in the Gospels or they simply dismiss them as irrelevant.

This rejection of the commandments and teachings of Jesus Christ in the Gospels as irrelevant to the church permits the dispensationalist to claim that apostles, prophets, gifts of the Spirit including miracles and tongues have ceased to exist. Many have rejected the Pentecostal and Charismatic movements on dispensational grounds. That is, they believed that the gifts of the Holy Spirit passed away in the first century, during that dispensation of time after all the original apostles were gone. Pentecostals and charismatics have battled this dispensational theology, saying that the gifts were not just for an early dispensation in the church, but for us today. However, having their own form of dispensational theology, many of these same Pentecostals and charismatics reject preterism (covenant theology) and the understanding that we are living in the kingdom of God today. They say that the kingdom is for a future dispensation and not now. Their current form of dispensationalism places us in a parenthetical church age that will end when Jesus returns and brings in the kingdom.

We’ve been empowered by the Holy Spirit to experience His supernatural transformation of people’s lives, cultures, and nations. The gifts of the Spirit (tongues, prophesy, divine healing, etc.) have been given to us for practical victorious living in Christ. Preterists and dispensationalists need to open up to the Holy Spirit’s supernatural working and His giftings for people today in order to practically live out the kingdom we preach and change our culture. Only by the supernatural direction and experience of God’s Holy Spirit can we fulfill our calling in this “world without end.”

The dispensational teaching in the Left Behind books has made many rich. Most television and radio preachers today are proclaiming some form of dispensationalism but many are breaking free from this erroneous doctrine. While there are many different versions of Dispensationalism, it generally proposes the work of God is divided into “dispensations” with respect to time and claiming that God changed something in dealing with men. To quote the New Scofield Reference Bible, a Bible version whose erroneous translation promotes dispensationalism:

The purpose of each dispensation, then, is to place man under a specific rule of conduct, but such stewardship is not a condition of salvation. In every past dispensation unregenerate man has failed, and he has failed in this present dispensation and will in the future. But salvation has been and will continue to be available to him by God’s grace through faith.

Dr. C. I. Scofield, one of the most influential proponents of dispensationalism, defined a dispensation as “a period of time during which man is tested in respect to obedience to some specific revelation of the will of God.” Scofield categorized the dispensations as Innocence, Conscience, Human Government, Promise, Law, Grace, and Kingdom. He claimed that we are presently in the church age of Grace, and we will go into the Kingdom age after the second coming of Christ. Dispensationalism denies that the spiritual identity of Israel is the Church, and it tends to set “Grace” and “Law” against each other as mutually exclusive principles. It was a very erroneous system of Bible interpretation. The dispensations that supposedly applied to our time were:

The Kingdom. This dispensation begins with Christ’s public ministry and ends with either His Resurrection or Pentecost. The rule of conduct in the kingdom dispensation is defined as the “Gospel of the Kingdom.”

The Church. This dispensation begins with Pentecost and ends with an event that the dispensationalists refer to as “the rapture” The rule of conduct for the church dispensation is defined as another gospel – “the gospel of grace.”

The Kingdom Restored. This dispensation is a continuation of the kingdom dispensation. It begins with “the rapture” and after the second coming of Jesus Christ; he will establish an earthly kingdom, which will be eternal. Apparently, this return of the kingdom dispensation is necessary to keep the dispensationalism teachings even remotely consistent with the Sacred Scriptures.

With the establishment of Israel as a nation on May 14, 1948, dispensationalists taught that there would be only one more generation of the Church. God would rapture it out and the tribulation would begin, according to their view of Matthew 24:34. All this was to occur within one forty year “generation.” While dispensationalists have never agreed among themselves as to whether the rapture was to be partial, pre-tribulational, mid-trib, or post-trib, time has proven them all to be wrong. The year 1988 ended with an awkward silence from their scholars. If Israel was “God’s prophetic clock,” then dispensationalists did not know how to tell time. Yet God’s word is unchanging:

As He says also in Hosea: “I will call them My people, who were not My people, And her beloved, who was not beloved.” “And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ There they shall be called sons of the living God.” Romans 9:25-26

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-10

For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. Because finding fault with them, He says: Behold…I will make a new covenant…(Heb. 8:7-8).

The culmination of God’s divorce with old covenant Israel as a nation was prophesied again by Jesus in Matthew chapters 21-24. He stated His generation would see the finalization of the divorce in the destruction of the Jewish temple forever and the end of its old covenant ways (Matt. 24:2, 14, 34). That prophecy was fulfilled in 70 AD when the Roman army took Jerusalem, destroyed its temple, and ended the Jewish religion of sacrifices and offerings. Simply said, the significance of the old covenant nation of Israel was destroyed forever, and the nation that currently exists in the Middle East is a non-biblical nation. It is no longer connected to Bible prophecy!

The good news is that God has remarried the new covenant spiritual Israel, His church. (Rev. 19:7, 9, 22:17). The church is the nation that is fulfilling Bible prophecy today as a “holy nation” (1 Pet. 2:9). She is the bride of Christ and has the laws of God written in her heart and mind. She has inherited all the promises that God made to Israel. God’s Holy Spirit dwells in her to cause her to always be faithful to Him (Ezek. 36:25-27). To all who are in the Middle East, and to all who are not in the Middle East, “the Spirit and the Bride say, ‘Come! God’s word is unchanging:

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you. Titus 2:11-15

Now I, John, saw and heard these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things. Then he said to me, “See that you do not do that. For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.” And he said to me, “Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand. “He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.” “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. Revelation 22:8-17
