CLARIFICATION ON TONGUES

With regards to speaking in tongues – more correctly: “new languages” (Mk. 16: 17) or “other national languages” (1 Cor. 12: 10).  When a person receives the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit gives us a real language spoken in the world today or in the past to speak and to pray with.  It is unknown to the person who speaks in the language.  It can be interpreted by either somebody who speaks the language or somebody who has the Spiritual “Gift of Interpretation of languages”.

There are not three different types of languages.  There is one language which has several uses:

1. proof of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit (Mk. 16: 17; Acts 2: 4; 10: 44).

2. to give messages to a church fellowship or individual which must be interpreted by somebody who has the Gift of Interpretation.  Tongues with interpretation is a “sign for unbelievers” while “prophecy is a sign for believers”  (1 Cor. 14: 22).

3.  tongues or the gift of languages are to be used in personal prayer (1 Cor. 14: 14 – 15).  And when we pray in the Spirit (language) the Holy Spirit will “utter mysteries in the Spirit”  which means that He will explain things to us that we do not understand.

4.  When a person prays in tongues (language), he or she will be edified.  This doe not just mean that a person will feel good.  It means that  a person will receive healing when they are praying for themselves using the language which the Holy Spirit has given them.

5. A person can be given more than one languages to speak with.  However in giving a message in tongues, the person who is giving it should not give the interpretation.  It should be somebody else who has the Gift of Interpretation (1 Cor. 14: 27).  If not, the person who gives the message will start to manipulate messages which will not be from the Holy Spirit but from themselves or an evil spirit or the devil.  Interpretation should be done by someone else who has the Gift of Interpretation of tongues (1 Cor. 14: 17).  In most church fellowships there will usually be two or more people who have the Gift of Interpretation of tongues and who will be able to agree on the interpretation.  This prevents people from giving messages that are not from self, a lying spirit or the devil. There was a man who was called Mr. Pentecost who had received seven different languages.

All public messages must be interpreted, not by the person giving the message but by someone else who has the Gift of Interpretation.   There has grown up a wrong teaching that there are two languages: 1. one which a person receives when they receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as initial evidence of receiving the Holy Spirit , and 2. one which is a “prayer language” which not everybody receives.  This is a wrong teaching.  We all receive a tongues language when we receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit which is the same tongues language that we use in prayer and of which Paul writes, “Pray at all times in the Spirit  with all prayer and supplication” (Eph. 6: 18).

6.  The Gift of Speaking in Tongues or new languages or Other National Languages gives the Holy Spirit and us self-control over our tongues and what we say so we will no longer have cursing and blessings coming out of the same mouth (Jas. 3: 1 – 13).  Then the Holy Spirit can give us the right words to speak when we are arrested and give testimony we will be given what to say at the moment by the Holy Spirit (Matt. 10: 19).

And, we are supposed to listen to the Holy Spirit every day.  This is he reason why Jesus commanded each of the Seven Churches in the Book of Revelation, “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” (in Greek, every day) (Rev. 2: 7, 11, 17, 29; 3: 6, 13, 22).

And, by the way, when Jesus said, “And when he come, he will convict the world…..he will guide you into all the truth” (Jn. 16: 7 – 15), Jesus meant that the Holy Spirit can talk to us everyday in whatever our natural national languages are.  So, the Holy Spirit can speak to us in English or whatever languages you can normally speak.

The question that I am asked most is this, “Is it necessary for Christians to speak in tongues?”  Jesus said, “These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will ….. speak in new tongues” which means “new languages”. When we receive the Holy Spirit, He gives us the ability to speak and to pray in real languages spoken today or in the past which we have never learned before. The Greek word for “sign” as defined in the Greek Lexicon means: “a sign or distinguishing mark whereby something is known, sign, token, indication”. The four signs (Mk. 16: 17 – 18) identify authentic Christian Believers. Not everybody receives the Holy Spirit when they have their sins forgiven, as was the case on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:4) in Samaria (Acts 8: 15 – 16) or with Paul (Acts 9: 17) or John’s disciples (Acts 19: 6). On the Day of Pentecost, the people in Jerusalem were from many countries and they all heard the 120 people speaking in their own languages which they had never learned naturally (Acts 2: 8).

The “Gift of Speaking in Tongues (languages) is proof that the Holy Spirit is in us. This is God’s unique way to give us control over our mouths and what we say. It shows us that only the Holy Spirit can solve our mouth problem of which James reminds us that “but no human being can tame the tongue-a restless evil, full of deadly poison” (Jas. 3: 8). The “Gift of National Languages” (tongues: 1 Cor. 12: 10) is God’s unique “Communications System” which changes our personal prayer life (1 Cor. 14: 4, 15; Eph. 6: 18) and when combined with the Gift of Interpretation of Tongues can give messages from God to people in worship. (1 Cor. 14: 22, 27).

When Paul writes, “Are all apostles? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?” The answer is “NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! BECAUSE ALL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE HOLY SPIRIT”. There were two groups of people in the church, just like today, who rejected the necessity of the Baptism of Holy Spirit: unbelievers (apistos) and outsiders, not fully fledged Christians (idiotes) (1Cor. 14: 24). The same proof is necessary today or else as many people tell me, “There is something missing in me” or “I feel empty all the time” or “Why do I never hear the Holy Spirit speak to me everyday”.

Jesus explained that forgiveness makes us into new wineskins and the Holy Spirit is the New Wine (Lk. 5: 37 – 39). But he also warns, “And no one after drinking old wine desires new; for he says, ‘The old is better’.” In other words, the Holy Spirit does not taste the way that we think He should. Most church people do not like the taste or feeling the Holy Spirit gives them, especially when it is necessary to speak in the new necessary languages that He wants us to have. They go back to the old wine of their ineffective religion. We cannot rely on our feelings (Is: 55: 8).

Many people have written books about why it is no longer necessary to speak in tongues (languages) which proves that they do not have the Holy Spirit in spite of all of their eloquence. They may be religious people but not Spiritual people. It took me about six months to get accustomed to speaking in a language that I did not know and to later find out it was Portuguese. I like most people, had to acquire a taste for the New Wine. And, it opened up a new and exciting way of prayer. I was asked just a few days ago, “Did Jesus speak in tongues?” Yes, of course He did and does. He speaks in all the over 7,000 languages that are spoken on earth today. And through this unique Sign of Speaking in New Languages (Mk. 16: 17) as Jesus said, or as Paul says, “The Gift of Other National Languages” Jesus gives His church the ability to reach every language in the World.

If you have never received the real Baptism of the Holy Spirit, come to one of our meetings or call me on the phone and I will pray with you to receive the Holy Spirit with the signs following (Mk. 16: 17 – 18) of authenticity and proof that your salvation is secure (Eph. 1: 13 – 14).

FRUITS OR GIFTS?

Whenever people try to choose between the Fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5: 22 – 23) and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 12: 6 – 8; 1 Cor. 12: 8 – 10) they are absolutely wrong.  The Fruit of the Spirit develops the character of Jesus in us so that we can do the ministry of Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit using the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.  To think that a Christian can be satisfied with only the “Fruit of the Spirit” is a completely false understanding.  That is what James is trying to get people to understand when he wrote, “So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead” (Jas. 2: 17).  We cannot have one without the others.

For instance, people who say that it is not necessary to speak in tongues (Acts 2: 4) , have no self-control over their tongues (i.e. their mouths and their human tongues) and what they say (Jas. 3: 1 – 12).  The Gift of Tongues (languages) gives the Holy Spirit some control over what we say when we are witnessing (Acts 1: 8) and delivers messages from God to His people when used with the Gift of Interpretation of Tongues (languages).   The ignorance of the Fruit of the Spirit is unbelievable.   For instance, the Fruit of the Spirit which is translated as “meekness” or “gentleness” in Greek the word is “prautes” is describes a person who is 1. submissive to the will of God, 2. teachable in all things, 3. considerate  of people’s needs, 4.  it describes a person who gets angry  at the right time and never at the wrong time and then takes the appropriate action to change the situation.  It describes the cheetah which, when it has been fully trained for hunting acts on command of its master.  The best example of that was when Jesus entered the Temple and said, “My house shall be called a house of prayer; but  you have made it a den of robbers.”  He then drove out all of the people who were selling the animals and the money-changers and upset their tables and prevented anybody to carry anything into the temple.  Jesus was demonstrating that we are supposed to get angry at sin and then take the appropriate action to change the situation.

Paul never acted in sin.  He acted under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and he had the authority to curse his enemies and get angry with those who opposed the Gospel and challenge them with the Scriptural Truth.  We are told that Paul “argued” with those who opposed the Gospel (Acts 17: 2, 17; 18: 4; 19: 9) or another word is to “contend” (Jude 1: 3).  It is interesting that there are some ignorant people who would accuse Paul of sinning, when he is used by God as an example of a person who demonstrated “meekness/gentleness” in his ministry.  His so-called critics, interestingly, do not have their names or their wrong judgements recorded in the New Testament.

We are supposed to get angry at sin and take the appropriate action to correct the sinful actions.  This is the reason why we are told by no one other than Paul, “Be angry but do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil” (Eph. 4: 27).  He wrote to Timothy, “By rejecting conscience, certain persons have made shipwreck of their faith, among them Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I delivered to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme” (1 Tim. 1: 19 – 20).  In other words, using his authority, Paul revoked the salvation of these two men.  That is the ultimate result of Paul exercising his authority in Jesus Christ.  The Old Testament refers to “the anger of the Lord” (Ex. 4: 14 and 101 other places).  We are supposed to get angry with sin and offer salvation, healing, deliverance.  We are supposed to get angry with sin and use the “Signs Following” to deal with sin.  We are supposed to get angry with sin and use the 15 Gifts of the Holy Spirit to change the situation of sin.  But many  people try to use the Bible to excuse themselves from coming under the authority of Jesus Christ and telling us that the ministry works that we read about in the Scriptures are either not for them or for the church of Jesus Christ today.  They are rebellious people who do not like the work of the Holy Spirit and are living in denial.  Their end will be as Jesus describe the penalty for acting like goats instead of faithful sheep (Matt. 25: 31 – 46).  We are told by Jesus, “Do not judge by appearances; but judge with right judgment” (Jn. 7: 24).

Sin is supposed to make us angry and then with the Holy Spirit’s guidance  we are supposed to take the appropriate action to correct the situation.  To even suggest that Paul was sinning when he dealt with people who were in sin is completely false.  But, it does tell us something about those who would attempt to disregard his teaching.  It tells us that they, themselves, are in rebellion against the Gospel of Jesus Christ and have proven that they are out of God’s will.  For you see Peter referred to Paul and commended his teaching.  He wrote, “So also our beloved brother Paul wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, speaking of this as he does in all his letters.  There are some things in them hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other scriptures” (2 Pet. 3: 14 – 16).

OBSERVATIONS

BA

YOU MUST DEAL WITH THINGS THAT RENDERS PRAYING AND FASTING INEFFECTIVE:

Mt.17:21. Howbeit this kind goes not out but by prayer and fasting. There is awesome power in praying and fasting but if we do not deal with the things that renders praying and fasting ineffective we will be praying and fasting in vain. Mt.6:16-18; Isaiah.58:1-7; Luke.18:9-13; Jeremiah.14:10-12. Ps.66:18.

There are a lot of praying and fasting in many religious circles today and yet little of no effect is seen as a result. Some even say they fast and pray for seventy days and yet no freedom and no power why, because the people did not take care of the things that hinder and render praying and fasting ineffective. If we are going to pray and fast in an effective way we must take care of the things that make praying and fasting ineffective, what are the things that make praying and fasting impotent and ineffective?

(1) Praying and fasting sin both secret and open. (2) Praying and fasting with hypocrisy and lying tongue. (3) Praying and fasting with pride and rebellion. (4) Unbelief and faithlessness. (5) Fasting as a religious duty like the Pharisees. (6) Wickedness and occultic practices. (7) Defilement and immorality. (8) Unfaithful and dishonesty both in money matter and marriage. (9) Idolatry and Satanic worship. (10) Unforgiving spirit and malice. (11) Hatred and bitterness against others. (12) Murder including abortion. (13) Covetousness and love of money. (14) False doctrine and false religious practices. (15) Homosexuality, lesbianism and gay marriage. (16) False doctrine and false worship. (17) Fasting with wrong motive such as fasting and praying so that your enemies will die or suffer. (18) Fasting and praying with anger and animosity in the heart against your spouse or your neighbors. (19) Fasting and praying without genuine repentance as a backslider or a sinner. (20) Fasting and praying with debate and argument against the revealed word of God and with worldliness both in attitude and appearance.

These and many more render your prayer and fasting ineffective and impotent. All you need to do is to repent of these things and make all necessary restitution, and then your praying and fasting will be honored by the Lord.

Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking

MATTHEW 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the light. There is NOTHING He cannot do, no problem He cannot solve and no hurt He cannot heal.

You were not born to exist in darkness, but in the light and love of Jesus Christ so that you could share His love with other

Remember, receiving the promises of God takes two things: faith and patience. Hold fast to His promises!

When you don’t know what to do, do what you can do—praise, pray and seek God until the answer comes!

THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NOT COMPOSED OF THOSE WHO USE CARNAL LOGIC AND REASONING AND QUOTE SCRIPTURE VERSES BUT OF THOSE WHO ARE BORN OF WATER AND THE SPIRIT AND WORSHIP GOD IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH. THOSE WHO ARE LED BY THE SPIRIT ARE THE SONS OF GOD AND THE OTHERS ARE SONS OF DISOBEDIENCE, SONS OF HELL!

JOHN 3:4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’
8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

JOHN 4:19 The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.
20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.”
21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.
22 You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.
23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.

Romans 8
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Ephesians 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

Colossians 3:6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,

BLIND FUNDAMENTALISTS WHO LOVE TO TALK ABOUT LOVE BUT ARE DEVOID OF MIRACLES, SIGNS AND WONDERS CONVENIENTLY FORGET THAT 1 CORINTHIANS 13 IS IN THE MIDDLE OF 1 CORINTHIANS 12 AND 14 AND NOT SEPARATE FROM IT

JESUS HAD NO PROBLEM TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT FOOLS IN MATTHEW 23:26 Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also.
27 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness.
28 Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
29 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous,
30 and say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.’
31 “Therefore you are witnesses against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets.
32 Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers’ guilt.
33 Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?

SOME PEOPLE TRY TO PUT PEOPLE INTO IDIOTIC RELIGIOUS MODES. THERE IS SUCH A THING AS FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND THE RIGHT TO REBUKE ANYBODY AND EVERYBODY

1 Corinthians 2:15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.

2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

ABUNDANT LIFE

Jesus said in John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” As for me, I’ve had nothing and I’ve had a lot. I’ve been sick and I’ve been well, and I’ll tell you what I think. Being well with money is a whole lot more fun than being sick with nothing. The choice is up to us. The Scripture says, “I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore, choose life” (Deut. 30:19). What more do we need to convince us? We have been redeemed from the curse of the law, the curse of poverty, and the curse of sickness.

It was prophesied in Isaiah 53 that the Messiah would suffer on our behalf. In verse 5 it says, “And by His stripes we are healed.” In Matthew chapter 8 the scripture in Isaiah 53 is fulfilled: “When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: ‘He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.'” (Matt. 8:16,17).

We also see Isaiah 53 quoted in 1 Peter 2:24, but there it is looking back on the prophecy: “Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness-by whose stripes you were healed.”

“Bore our sins” is in the past tense. It says “were healed” because we were healed when He bore the stripes for us. Isaiah was looking forward; 1 Peter 2:24 was looking back. It has already happened. That means Jesus paid the price! He paid the price for eternal life, healing, and prosperity – all three parts of the curse of the law.

In Romans chapter 3, it says clearly how He paid the price. He did it by His blood. Without the blood of Jesus, we do not have everlasting life. Without the blood of Jesus, we do not have healing. Without the blood of Jesus, all we have is poverty. The blood of the Lamb redeemed us from all of these things, and He is the Lamb

But God?

20130429

Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them. Matthew 4:24

“And the patriarchs, becoming envious, sold Joseph into Egypt. But God was with him  “and delivered him out of all his troubles, and gave him favor and wisdom in the presence of Pharaoh, king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house. Acts 7:9-10

When Joseph was sold as a slave to the Egyptians, he didn’t have a dime to his name. He didn’t even have his freedom. He’d been sold as a slave. But, right in the middle of his slavery, God gave Joseph such wisdom and ability that he made his owner prosper. As a result, the man put Joseph in charge of all his possessions. Later, Joseph was put in prison. There’s really not much opportunity for advancement in prison, is there? But God gave him insight that no other man in Egypt had. That insight landed him a position on Pharaoh’s staff. Not as a slave but as the most honored man in the entire country next to Pharaoh himself.  He rode along in a chariot and people literally bowed down before him. During a worldwide famine, Joseph was in charge of all the food. Now that’s success and prosperity? God was with Jesus  “and delivered him out of all his troubles, and gave him favor and wisdom in the presence of Pharaoh, king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house. And since God hasn’t changed He can and will do the same for all those who trust in and look to Him. But the how God will do it is His business not man’s!

Jesus Christ the express image of God  was anointed by God with the Holy Spirit and with power, went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him ( Acts 10:38). Just like God, Jesus was a giver not a taker!  A true parent gets His joy out of giving his children what they need. Similarly God gets His joy out of giving His children what they need. Jesus Christ who is the expressed image of God loved to call His disciples ‘children. The bible records for our profit and instruction:

And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God! Mark 10:24

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: John 1:12

Then He said: “A certain man had two sons. “And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.’ So he divided to them his livelihood.  “And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living.  “But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want.  “Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. “And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything.

“But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!  ‘I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you,  “and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.” ‘ “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.  “And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

“But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet.  ‘And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; ‘for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry. Luke 15:11-24

Jesus used the story of the prodigal son to tell us how we as God’s children had left our Heavenly Father and went into the world to live defeated desolate lives. But when we returned back to our Heavenly Father He had restored all things to us including the best Robe and a Ring on our hand and Sandals on our feet. We have now become heirs of Salvation and as a result all that belongs to the Father now belongs to us: As a matter of fact we live in the finest hour of the Church of when the Father God is restoring all things to His people including the best Robe that their Father gives them when they come back to Him which is the Mantle of Anointing of His Holy Spirit. It’s similar to the Mantle that our Father-God gave to a great man of God, Elijah, who worked miracles with it, doing great things, especially bringing down the Fire of God from Heaven. So that everybody would know who the Lord of Lord was and is. It’s a similar anointing that Jesus received from the Father when John the Baptist baptized him in the river Jordan. While He prayed, the heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven, which said

“You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”  Now Jesus Himself began His ministry. (Luke 3:21-22)

Then the Word of God tell us that Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where he was for forty days tempted by the devil, proved by God, eating nothing. After the devil had ended every temptation, and departed for a while, Jesus returned in the power of the Holy Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went throughout the entire surrounding region. Then Jesus came to Nazareth where He had been brought up and as was His custom, went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read and found the place where it was written:

The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; (Luke 4:18)

Well, this is the same Robe or mantle of anointing that our heavenly Father wants to give us, so that we can do the works of God, in the power of the Holy Spirit and in dependence on Him. So that we can heal the broken hearted, proclaim liberty to the captives and set free those who are oppressed, just like Jesus did when He as God in human flesh walked on earth two thousand years ago. For Jesus words are true:

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father?” (John 14:12)

The Robe the father gave the prodigal son can be compared to the “coat of many colors” that Israel gave to his son Joseph, the same Coat their Heavenly Father presently gives us. God’s word records:

“Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age. Also he made him a tunic of many colors.” (Genesis 37:3)

The Robe signifies a Mantle of the Holy Spirit’s ‘Anointing’ on them. The different colors on the coat signify the different aspects and attributes of the ‘Anointing;’ such as salvation, healing, blessings, prosperity, provision, position, power, responsibility, authority, sonship, kingship, royalty, good things, deliverance, miracles, wealth and riches.  We have an example of this recorded in the book of Kings of two great men of God, Elijah and Elisha, and what they accomplished with their Mantle. Elijah gathered on Mount Carmel the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal, and the four hundred prophets of Asherah, who ate at Jezebel’s table and all of the children of Israel. He told them what God would say to many of us today:

If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people answered him not a word.  Then Elijah said to the people, “I alone am left a prophet of the LORD; but Baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men. 1 King 18:21-22

Elijah called upon God at the offering of the evening sacrifice to confirm that he did things at God’s command that they people might know He  is the LORD God who has turned their hearts back to Him. God’s word records:

Then the fire of the LORD fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench.  Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, “The LORD, He is God! The LORD, He is God!” (1 Kings 18:19-39)

Elijah obtained a great victory that day and ordered the false prophets to be destroyed. Thereafter he Elisha who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, Elijah passed by him and threw his Mantle on him. and Elisha became a man of God just like Elijah.  Elijah also used his mantle to struck the water; so that two of them could cross over on dry ground. Later Chariots of fire took Elijah home but Elisha took up the Mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and went back and stood by the bank of the Jordan. The Word of God records

Then he took the Mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, and said, “Where is the LORD God of Elijah?” And when he also had struck the water, it was divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over. (2 Kings 2:13-14)

Similarly all of God’s children can accomplish today with their mantle of the Holy Spirit, before the Lord returns  great , wonderful and miraculous things. They, as born-again Spirit filled Christians, are not to underestimate the mantle of the Holy Spirit that our Creator God has given to them in response to their faith and persistence.   Real men of God like Elijah and Elisha appreciated it and used it in their daily lives. Hence, God’s people should do the same in their  lives, especially using the Gifts of the Holy Spirit such as; the word of wisdom and knowledge, the gift of faith and healings, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, different kinds of tongues and interpretation of tongues.  God’s word records:

But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.  For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.  For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body-whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free-and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. (I Corinthians 12:11-13)

Who is to say but God alone, what Gifts their Father-God will give them and has become available to them, once they have received the mantle or anointing of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, when they begin to drink of the Holy Spirit? For God’s word is true:

On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. John 7:37-39

God’s people need to have rivers of living water flowing out of them so that God’s people can water the dry and thirsty land around them. So that God’s word will be true:

Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, And the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, And the fruitful field is counted as a forest. Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, And righteousness remain in the fruitful field. The work of righteousness will be peace, And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever. My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, In secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places, Isaiah 32:15-18

The prodigal son received a new ring from His father signifying His right to use everything that belong to the Father.  Similarly now, our Father-God places on our finger a new signet ring, His own signet ring, which gives us the power and authority to change things in our lives, other people’s, and entire nations, that cannot be reversed by anyone or anything through the use of His name. For Jesus said to you and I:

“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; Mark 16:17

“And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 14:13-14

“Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. John 16:24

In the name of Jesus there is life, healing, blessing, prosperity, miracles, good things and change and all we have to do is to use it. By it we can command and decree good things into existence, in Jesus’ Name, under the inspiration and direction of the Holy Spirit.  For everything is possible to Him that believes and uses and trust that name.

Well Jesus’ seventy disciples returned with joy, saying,  “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.”  And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.  “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

“Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”  Luke 10:18-20

It’s not only the things that we do in Jesus  name that counts but how  we walk with Him who is our friend, Lord, savior, healer, refuge, provider and our Father God.  God’s presence and power in this generation in America have not been demonstrated and shown to others. As a result we now have generation X who knows nothing about God and His miracle working power and works. But our Father-God is calling His Entire Remnant, on whom the Spirit of God is stirring, to put on their signet ring and rise up and do a work in this generation.

In that day,’ says the LORD of hosts, ‘I will take you, Zerubbabel My servant, the son of Shealtiel,’ says the LORD, ‘and will make you like a signet ring; for I have chosen you,’ says the LORD of hosts.” (Haggai 2:23)

By faith with the King’s signet ring on our finger, we can speak, act, decree and change things on behalf of God himself, and in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, just as the Lord Himself said to the prophet Jeremiah:

“See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms,  to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant.” (Jeremiah 1:10)

God wants us, in the power of the Holy Spirit and with His Word and the authority that is given because of our signet ring, to change things in our lives and those around us. He literally wants to give us His four R’s: Rest, Refuge, Redemption, and Renown as He has already given us His 4 P’s: His Presence, Promises, Person and Power. For as a good God, who is with and for us today, He wants to use His power for our good and has given us exceeding great and precious promises, that through these we may be partakers of the divine nature. Because all the promises of God in Him are ‘Yes,’ and in Him ‘Amen,’ to the glory of God through us.  Since we have these promises we should cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God and serve with our total abilities and all of our heart and not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

We have all, in Christ Jesus, obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as Jesus was also a Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises through faith we can subdue kingdoms, work righteousness, obtain promises and even stop the mouths of lions and others. God wants to take the signet ring of power and authority from the others, including Principalities and powers, and return it to us, just as in the days of old with Mordecai:

So the king took off his signet ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it to Mordecai; and Esther appointed Mordecai over the house of Haman. (Esther 8:2)

The prodigal son also received new sandals from his father. Similarly our Heavenly Father now places new sandals on our feet, which are the shoes of the gospel of peace to proclaim the good news of the Gospel to others. So that they can be healed, set free, redeemed, blessed, delivered, no longer oppressed and can have real power and authority over the enemy. With the new sandals on our feet, we can go forth proclaiming and demonstrating in the power of the Holy Spirit, the power and wisdom of our God.

Jeremiah 10:8 The people of those nations are both stupid and foolish. Instruction from a wooden idol is worthless!

14 All these idolaters will prove to be stupid and ignorant. Every goldsmith will be disgraced by the idol he made. For the image he forges is merely a sham. There is no breath in any of those idols.

Egotistic idiots don’t know or understand how much they are out of the will of god while they pat themselves, write fleshly carnal books that make them millions of dollars and meanwhile the majority of people are not being saved, healed, delivered and baptized with the spirit!

Blind fundamentalists who love to talk about love but are devoid of miracles, signs and wonders conveniently forget that 1 Corinthians 13 is in the middle of 1 Corinthians 12 and 14 and not separate from it.

Some people try to put people into an idiotic religious mode of their own making. But there is such a thing as freedom of speech and the right to rebuke anybody and everybody

Some people seem to have a controlling demonic spirit trying to put people into their mold, not letting them to be themselves and denying the fact that love is expressed by deeds and not words as seen in Acts 3! So how many people have they healed recently through the love and compassion of Jesus? Probably none!

ACTS 3:1 Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple;3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms.4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.”5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them — walking, leaping, and praising God.9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God.10 Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

Yes talk is cheap but to demonstrate good works isn’t? And Jesus said about true authentic Christians

Mark 16:17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”19 So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen

Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Those who receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon them can do and say what apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 2: 1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God.2 For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.3 I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.6 However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory,8 which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.9 But as it is written: ” Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.16 For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

JESUS HAD NO PROBLEM TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT FOOLS IN MATTHEW 23:26 Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also.27 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness.28 Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.29 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous,30 and say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.’31 “Therefore you are witnesses against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets.32 Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers’ guilt. 33 Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?

KEEP GOING

 Don’t Give Up

100_0230Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation… (Habakkuk 3:17-19).

I’m often amazed at how some Christians easily give up and succumb to life’s challenges. You’ve got to understand that if you’re a child of God, you aren’t a victim! In the scripture above the prophet described a dire situation, yet chose to rejoice in the Lord all the same: “Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places….” In other words, although there was a problem, the prophet wasn’t moved by what he saw, felt, or perceived. He began to testify of the Lord’s goodness.

This should be your attitude as well. The story isn’t complete until you’ve won! Things may not be going the way you expect at the moment, but don’t despair. Reiterate your trust in God and testify openly of His love for you. Give Him praise for making all things well. Tell yourself, “I’m not giving up but I will speak of His wondrous works” and begin to rejoice in the Lord God of your salvation.

Remember Paul and Silas? Things couldn’t have looked more hopeless for them as they huddled in chains in the dark dungeon of that maximum-security Roman prison. But instead of cringing in fear and hopelessness, they decided to praise God, and you know the rest of the story (Acts 16:23-36).

It’s time for you to testify and praise God like you’ve never done before. You may not feel like it, but do it anyway, because that’s where the victory lies! It’s not over yet. Put your trust in God. Start telling everyone how good and gracious your God is. Worship Him in spirit and in truth and He’ll inhabit your praise and bring His power to bear on your situation. Remember this:  it’s not over until you’ve won! Hallelujah!

KEEP ASKING :

“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.” – Matthew 7:7, NLT

Sometimes, people get discouraged in life because things didn’t turn out the way they hoped on the first try. Maybe they put energy into a relationship but it didn’t work out. They tried that new business venture, but they are still struggling with their finances. Now they think it’s never going to happen. But, one thing we have to learn is that God honors perseverance. On the way to your “yes” you may encounter some “no’s.” You may encounter some closed doors, but that doesn’t mean it’s the final answer. It just means “keep going.”

Remember, if God promised it, He’s going to bring it to pass. Scripture tells us that through faith and patience we inherit God’s promises. This is where patience comes in; this is where perseverance comes in. This is where trust comes in. Just because you don’t see things happen right away doesn’t mean you should quit. No, instead, rise up and press forward. Keep believing, keep hoping, keep enduring and keep asking because our God is always faithful to His word!

VICTORY IS ALWAYS ON THE WAY :

“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ…” – 2 Corinthians 2:14, NKJV

Isn’t it wonderful to know that God promises to always lead us into victory? That means no matter what is going on in your life today, no matter what’s happening in the world around you, no matter what anybody says, you should always be thanking God because victory is always on the way!

You don’t have to wait for everything to be perfect before you decide to celebrate what God is going to do in your life. Praise is putting action behind your faith. In the middle of adversity or a tough time, start making a list of who you’re going to invite to your victory celebration. That means if you’re in the hospital, start planning what you’re going to do when you get out. If you lost some money when the stock market went down, start planning your coming-out-of-debt party. When things don’t look good in the natural, remember, we serve a supernatural God. With God leading you into victory, you can always plan for increase. You can plan for restoration. You can plan for a comeback, and you can plan for victory because He is leading and guiding you in Jesus’ name

PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER

James 5:16 So confess your sins to one another and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great effectiveness.

Christians should pray about all things and for one another that they might be healed. Often times people are referred to psychologist by their family doctor.  People trust them and think they need what the doctor orders.  Only to find it is not a cure and most often it actually makes the situation much worse.  For they force the person to dwell on the past instead of the present, to dwell on the wounds instead of healing, to feel like a hopeless and helpless victim, instead of knowing I am more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus.  Then along the way they give them mind and mood altering meds and they become numb!  Our generation has been programmed to trust doctors.  But, as Christians, God is our divine great physician…..not any man.  God heals us from deep inside our spirit….out.  Doctors can numb people to look better on the outside….yet, they are dead on the inside.

FULL OF FAITH AND POWER AND THE HOLY SPIRIT

Acts 6:5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude. And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch,

ACTS 6:8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people.

The only hope that any man has anywhere in the world is faith in Jesus Christ.  In light of what’s happening around us today, the truth of the statement is more painfully obvious than ever before. We are a generation with diseases no man can heal, with problems no man can solve. What fleeting successes we have are quickly overshadowed by new and greater crises.   All too often, that’s as true for believers as it is for unbelievers. It shouldn’t be. But it is. Believers are being killed by the same diseases that are devastating the rest of the world. They’re being plagued by the same problems. And many are walking around without hope–just like the rest of the world.   Why? Because the only hope that any man has is faith in Jesus Christ. And the majority of Christians don’t know how to live by faith.

Instead of being filled with the Word, faith, power and the Holy Spirit, they’ve been stuffed full of religious tradition and superstition. And they’re suffering. When the devil hits them with sickness and disease, with poverty or depression or divorce, they often stand by helplessly as it destroys them. They simply don’t know what else to do. The Bible says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” (Hos. 4:6).   But you know. Your hope is in Jesus. Trust Him. And tell the world–their hope is in Him too.  Scripture Study: Mark 4:35-41

It’s interesting that most denominations that believe in once saved always saved don’t believe in the gifts of the Spirit. And most of those who believe in the gifts of the Spirit are all mixed  up by believing that only certain gifts operate in each Christian or that the gifts make them somewhat special.  Because they are given to all who believe, gifts are not proof that someone is more ‘spiritual’ than others, or that someone is ‘saved’.

Salvation is the greatest gift that we can have as long as we walk in the Spirit and don’t grieve the Spirit which many do by their lack of the fruits of the Spirit.  Jesus told us that we will be known by our fruits including faith, love, integrity, giving, sharing and compassion! God’s word is true:

Acts 3: 1 Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. 2  And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple;3   who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms.4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” 5  So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.6    Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”7   And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.8   So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them — walking, leaping, and praising God.9  And all the people saw him walking and praising God.

Fellowship among the spiritually-gifted people exists because of their common possession of their great gifts, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Christ himself is the one who really ‘has’ the spiritual gifts….. As head of the body, he is the source and bearer of all spiritual gifts. They function at his behest. And if we are open and will He can function all the spiritual gifts through us especially the gift of miracles because God is more anxious to bestow his blessings on us than we are to receive them. His word is unchanging:

MT 7:11 “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

ROM 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

JMS 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

Ephesians 4:11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head-Christ-16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

2COR 12:12 Truly the signs of an apostle were accomplished among you with all perseverance, in signs and wonders and mighty deeds.

“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.” (1 Corinthians 12:7-11)

GIDEON WON

GS WITH GOD, ONE COURAGEOUS OBEDIENT MAN CAN AND WILL MAKE A GREAT DIFFERENCE IN ANY NEGATIVE SITUATION. GOD’S WORD IS TRUE:

By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days.  By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace.  And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets:  who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Hebrews 11:30-34

God’s word tells us that Israel was in turbulent condition. The Midianites surrounded them. At that time, they cried. God gave a deliverer called ‘GIDEON’. The Word of God records:

Then the LORD said to him, “Peace be with you; do not fear, you shall not die.”  So Gideon built an altar there to the LORD, and called it The-LORD-Is-Peace. To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites. Judges 6:23-24

Now the Angel of the LORD came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites.  And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him, and said to him, “The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor!”  Gideon said to Him, “O my lord, if the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the LORD has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.”  Then the LORD turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?” So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” And the LORD said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.” Judge 6:11-16

Gideon acted on God’s word to him  and 32,000 fellow Israelites answered his call for help against the Midianites. But God had other plans and He scaled down the army from 32,000 to 10,000, then further to only 300 so that He alone would get all the glory.  God reassured Gideon: “By the three hundred men who lapped I will save you, and deliver the Midianites into your hand” (Judges 7:7). To reassure Gideon further, God told him to go with his servant to the enemy camp at night to “hear what they say; and afterward your hands shall be strengthened to go down against the camp”

Even though it didn’t make sense in the natural courageous Gideon obeyed all that God instructed him to do and won a great victory over the Midianites! Of course he had supernatural help. The bible records:

Judges 7:19 So Gideon and the hundred men who were with him came to the outpost of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, just as they had posted the watch; and they blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers that were in their hands. 20 Then the three companies blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers — they held the torches in their left hands and the trumpets in their right hands for blowing — and they cried, “The sword of the LORD and of Gideon!” 21 And every man stood in his place all around the camp; and the whole army ran and cried out and fled. 22 When the three hundred blew the trumpets, the LORD set every man’s sword against his companion throughout the whole camp; and the army fled to Beth Acacia, toward Zererah, as far as the border of Abel Meholah, by Tabbath

“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. Matthew 11:12

Yes, the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah,  David and Samuel and the prophets  through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,  quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. They just didn’t let things happen through their faith they made things too happen. Spoils of war went to those who fought in the battles even of their own choosing. The bible records for our profit and instruction:

By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,  choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,  esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.
By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.
By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he who destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.
By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days.
By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace. Hebrews 11:24-31

Whatever we need God will provide. He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? We shall not want… JEHOVAH-JIREH (JEHOVAH is our Provider). When we know the Lord as our ‘Shepherd’  He will be our provider, all sufficient-one. Therefore, we shall not lack or want anything because nothing is impossible with God

And because JEHOVAH- SHALOM, The-LORD-Is-Peace,  He makes us to lie down in green pastures; He leads us beside the still waters. The sheep are very happy. Lying down in Green pastures and still waters (not turbulent waters) all speak of peaceful conditions

The word Salvation-soteria is defined in the bible as being established in “protection, preservation, prosperity, promotions, provisions, soundness, healing, deliverance and the ministry of angels.” But salvation is a personal thing. It comes as we put our trust in the name of the person who is called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, our Lord, and receive the new birth and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. As we receive not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God we become a spiritual being where we now have the mind of Christ.  Through the Holy Spirit, the other Helper, the Guide, the Counselor, we receive and begin to know the things that have been freely given to us by God. We are now led and guided in all things – trusting the Holy Spirit just like Jesus did.

Yes, Jesus Christ is our Salvation and He rescues us from harm, danger or loss, He keeps us in a safe condition and prevents the waste or loss of things for us as we abide under the shadow of the Almighty. God’s word is true:

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler  And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. Psalm 91:1-4

No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you,  To keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.” Psalm 91:10-16

Yes the Lord is our healer of all things that the enemies of life bring upon us be it physical sickness, broken hearts, inner hurts or disappointments. God’s word is true:

When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,  that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:  “He Himself took our infirmities  And bore our sicknesses.” Matthew 8:16-17

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever. Psalm 23: 5

“All the way around shall be eighteen thousand cubits; and the name of the city from that day shall be: THE LORD Is THERE.” Ezekiel 48:35

The Lord will be with us forever. He is a very present help in time of trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. For there is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God,  The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High. God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved;  God shall help her, just at the break of dawn (Psalm 46:1-5). His word is unchanging:

“The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you;  The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,  And give you peace.” Number 6:24-26

“And He will love you and bless you and multiply you; He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your land, your grain and your new wine and your oil, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flock, in the land of which He swore to your fathers to give you. “You shall be blessed above all peoples; there shall not be a male or female barren among you or among your livestock. “And the LORD will take away from you all sickness, and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of Egypt which you have known, but will lay them on all those who hate you. Deuteronomy 7:13-15

Exposing False Prophets (And False Politicians)

100_0239WHAT IS THIS NONSENSE? ALL OF A SUDDEN A PERSON BECOMES A PUBLIC PREACHER AND HE CANNOT BE JUDGED TO SEE IF HE IS A FALSE PROPHET? HOGWASH! THE BIBLE CLEARLY STATES WE ARE TO JUDGE ALL PREACHERS:

1 Corinthians 14:29 Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge.

In Matthew 7:15, Jesus said “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits.” And in verse 20 He says again, “Therefore by their fruits you will know them.”

Many times, the Bible warns us of false prophets. God warns us because He loves us and He does not want us to be led away by false teaching and the greed of men. He wants us to only know the truth and to only listen to His true prophets.

It may not seem important to some, in the day that we live in, to be concerned with false prophets. After all how can they hurt us? How can false prophets and false teachers hurt a Christian?

Some people think false prophets are those who cause their followers to shave their heads and commit murders. There are those who think false prophets are those who gather together their followers and drink poisoned Kool-aid. Others think that leaders who teach their followers to store guns and food for the great war are the false prophets mentioned in the Bible. Well, they may be false leaders and they may use the name of Jesus, but they are not exactly the ones Jesus is referring to here in Matthew 7.

In the last days, there will be many false prophets, apostles, teachers, and brethren, and they will be led by their master, Satan. In 2 Corinthians 11:13-14, we are given some insight into their method of operation. It says, “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light, therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness whose end will be according to their works.”

Second Peter 2:1 is another verse that sheds some light on false prophets saying, “But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.”

Many other scriptures refer to these counterfeit people, but here are two points that are extremely important.

1)    These false prophets and false teachers will not appear to be false.

Second Corinthians 11:13 says that these leaders will appear to be righteous individuals who appear to radiate the light of Jesus. They will be so camouflaged that many will follow them. But that should not be.

Jesus said that His sheep would know His voice and another they will not follow. (John 10:3-5, 27.) We need to listen to the voice of Jesus daily (in our hearts) as He speaks to us through the voice of His Holy Spirit. Then when the false prophet comes along stealing, killing and destroying, we will not be led astray because we will know that the voice is another voice and not the voice of the great shepherd, Jesus. (v. 10.)

2)    They will teach false doctrine and not the true Full Gospel of Jesus Christ including the Baptism of the Spirit and healing being the birth right of each child of God

Without the true Word of God being taught, faith will not grow. With undeveloped faith we will not be as effective in our witnessing and we will not be walking in the promises of God. Instead, we will be walking in the problems and the ways of the world. And that’s what Satan wants for you and me.

Let me give you a word of caution. Be aware that false prophets, teachers, and apostles are in the world.   Be aware of the negative, but walk in the positive.

The bible teaches us that God anoints some people to root out and to pull down to destroy to subdue and to throw down nations, kingdoms, powers and principalities and individuals.  All kings of Israel including David,  Saul and Jesus were anointed by the Holy Spirit with wisdom to rule and to destroy their enemies.. That is why  it says about David and Jesus and other rulers of the kingdom:

There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.  The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him,  The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might,  The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.  His delight is in the fear of the LORD,  And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes,  Nor decide by the hearing of His ears; But with righteousness He shall judge the poor,  And decide with equity for the meek of the earth;  He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth,  And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.  Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, And faithfulness the belt of His waist. Isaiah 11:1-5

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor;  He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives,  To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn,  Isaiah 61:1-4

For the day of vengeance is in My heart, And the year of My redeemed has come. Isaiah 63:4

Speaking of slaying the wicked, the enemies of God, there is an anointing to slay the wicked and Moses, Elijah, Elijah, Jesus  and Peter demonstrated it. The bible tells us about Moses one of the greatest men of God:

Now when Moses saw that the people were unrestrained (for Aaron had not restrained them, to their shame among their enemies), then Moses stood in the entrance of the camp, and said, “Whoever is on the LORD’S side-come to me.” And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together to him. And he said to them, “Thus says the LORD God of Israel: ‘Let every man put his sword on his side, and go in and out from entrance to entrance throughout the camp, and let every man kill his brother, every man his companion, and every man his neighbor.’ ” So the sons of Levi did according to the word of Moses. And about three thousand men of the people fell that day. Exodus 32:25-28

And king David the anointed ones was anointed to kill his enemies. The bible records:

I have pursued my enemies and overtaken them; Neither did I turn back again till they were destroyed.  I have wounded them,  So that they could not rise; They have fallen under my feet. For You have armed me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.  You have also given me the necks of my enemies, So that I destroyed those who hated me. They cried out, but there was none to save;  Even to the LORD, but He did not answer them.  Then I beat them as fine as the dust before the wind; I cast them out like dirt in the streets. Psalm 18:37-42

Elijah another great man of God was anointed to slay the false prophets of Baal:

And Elijah said to them, “Seize the prophets of Baal! Do not let one of them escape!” So they seized them; and Elijah brought them down to the Brook Kishon and executed them there. 1 Kings 18:40

And Elijah transferred his anointing of killing the enemies of God and His people to Elisha and others:

Then the LORD said to him: “Go, return on your way to the Wilderness of Damascus; and when you arrive, anoint Hazael as king over Syria. “Also you shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi as king over Israel. And Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place. “It shall be that whoever escapes the sword of Hazael, Jehu will kill; and whoever escapes the sword of Jehu, Elisha will kill. 1 Kings 19:15-17

And Elisha who did twice as many miracles as Elijah also used his anointing to  kill his enemies:

Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up the road, some youths came from the city and mocked him, and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!” 2:24 So he turned around and looked at them, and pronounced a curse on them in the name of the LORD. And two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths. 2 Kings 2:23

And the anointing that was upon Peter caused the enemies of God to die:

But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet. But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? “While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.” Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things. And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him. Acts 5:1-6

And Yes Jesus killed people by sending them to hell. He made decrees with His mouth that became curses not blessings and the people went to hell as a result. They received greater condemnation for being sons of hell! The bible records for our profit and instruction:

“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.  “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves. Matthew 23:13-15

Jesus didn’t go around saying nice things to people especially to religious ones? “Woe to you” doesn’t mean something good is going to happen to you? When it was needed Jesus told the truth to people:

“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.  “It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household! “Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known. “Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops. Matthew 10:24-27

Yes, Jesus cursed, not blessed, the religious hypocrites of His day and our day who contended with and fought with Apostles and prophets and even murdered them. Woe comes to those who spurn their message and count it a trivial matter. Scripture warns all men, “Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.” (Psalm 105:15). It is a scriptural fact that God will render judgment to all who reject and persecute His true servants. (Matthew 23:34-35). The book of Revelation declares a time of godly rejoicing at the destruction of a system that has persecuted and martyred men of God throughout the ages saying, Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, for God has avenged you on her!”

In the Old Testament there were various ministerial offices such as the Patriarchs, the Prophets, the Levites and the Pastors. It seems that the most significant was the Prophet. He was the watchman and messenger of God who gave warning to the nation of Israel from God. God’s word is true:

“Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me: “When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand.  “Yet, if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.  “Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die; because you did not give him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand. 1 “Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man that the righteous should not sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live because he took warning; also you will have delivered your soul.” Ezekiel 3:17-21

The Prophets had specific messages from God to the nation of Israel. The rebukes and warnings of Samuel to Saul, Nathan to David, or Elijah to Ahab are some good examples of men with divine commission. Kings and nations witnessed the hand of God on these men. Consider Moses, for example, who was not afraid of the most powerful king of his time — the Pharaoh of Egypt. This massive empire collapsed as a result of the message from an appointed man of God. The message of Daniel, a Hebrew slave in Babylon, brought about the conviction and repentance of Nebuchadnezzar, one of history’s most the powerful monarchs. It is no wonder that this world is not worthy of these messengers of God. (Heb. 11:38). But Apostle Paul told us that in the New Testament:

And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? 1 Corinthians 12:28-30

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,  for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,  Ephesians 4:11-12

The Power Of The Blood

POWER2

And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease. Matthew 10:1

who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness-by whose stripes you were healed. 1 Peter 2:24

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Revelation 12:11

The blood that Jesus shed on Calvary from His back and from His side not only forgives all our sins but heals all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease when we combine it with out confession or testimony. Sickness and disease had no power over Jesus who went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. Because of the precious shed blood of Jesus applied to our hearts and lives we have victory over the enemy and all sickness and diseases as we confess that by Jesus stripes we were healed. God’s word is unchanging:

Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus,  by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh,  and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Heb. 10:19-22

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,  just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, Eph. 1:3-4

But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God-and righteousness and sanctification and redemption- 1 Corinthians 1:30

The enemy would have us believe that our present negative circumstances define tomorrow? But that is a lie from the pits of hell for our faith in God and God defines our tomorrow. As a result those who are sick and afflicted in any way can be made perfectly whole and delivered by the power of God for with God nothing is impossible. God’s word is unchanging:

They forgot God their Savior, Who had done great things in Egypt, Wondrous works in the land of Ham, Awesome things by the Red Sea. Therefore He said that He would destroy them, Had not Moses His chosen one stood before Him in the breach,  To turn away His wrath, lest He destroy them.  Then they despised the pleasant land; They did not believe His word,  But complained in their tents, And did not heed the voice of the LORD. Psalm 106:21-25

When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion, We were like those who dream.  Then our mouth was filled with laughter, And our tongue with singing.  Then they said among the nations,  “The LORD has done great things for them.” The LORD has done great things for us, And we are glad. Psalm 126:1-3

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21

Although many people do, God’s true children don’t judge things by their natural mind or negative circumstances but by the Word of God and their decrees of how things are to be (Matthew 16:1, Mark 11:23). God has given us the power through the spoken word to change all the negative things in our land and to see it healed and blessed! Jesus gave us His blood, He gave us His name and He gave us His Word. He gave us the authority to rebuke negative things including storms and the devil ourselves.  Under the new covenant we say to the mountain ‘be removed and cast into the sea’ and believe in our heart that those things we say will come to pass and we have whatever we say. Hence things seen such as mountain removed result from things not seen, our spoken words.

Through the bible we know and believe of the great things that God has done. And what He has done for one He will do for another! God’s word is unchanging:

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. Hebrews 11:1-3

Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.  “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Revelation 12:10-11

It’s a defeatist attitude, full of unbelief about the power of God, to let the enemy win in any way in our lives be it through poverty, loss, sickness, disease or demons. Our words spoke by our mouth frame the world that we live or shall live in, not the devil or negative circumstances. We overcome all things by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony just like Jesus did. When Jesus was tempted by the devil, He told him what the Word of God stated (Matthew 16:9):

·       ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word of God.’

·       ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’

·       ‘You shall not tempt the LORD your God.’

Just like Habakkuk expressed unshakable confidence in divine deliverance, so can we! God’s word is unchanging:

Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets,  That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.  Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. “Behold the proud,  His soul is not upright in him;  But the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2:2-4

Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines;  Though the labor of the olive may fail,  And the fields yield no food;  Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls- Yet I will rejoice in the LORD,  I will joy in the God of my salvation. The LORD God is my strength;  He will make my feet like deer’s feet,  And He will make me walk on my high hills. Habakkuk 3:17-19

Through the book of Habakkuk we also see that individuals survive through fidelity to God, even when nations tumble because ungodliness and violence prevail; especially among those who profess the truth. Men tend to forget that God doesn’t overlook injustice and violence to others even by religious ones. Yes, the days come when the cry of sin is heard against those that do wrong and the cry of prayer for those that suffer wrong.  And then God sends real judgments upon men through a method of His choosing.

Most men presume on continued prosperity, or that calamities will not come in their days even in our nation. God is the Lord and He does get offended. Though wickedness may prosper a while, yet God is holy, and does not approve the wickedness and will bring judgment even using others. Proud and arrogant ones who are fierce, cruel, unmerciful to take glory to themselves should be aware of God’s wrath. Even though God most times doesn’t execute speedy judgments and evil works and workers and His judgments are delayed, doesn’t mean that they are denied.  Men who prey on others will sooner or later be preyed on themselves.  God’s word is unchanging:

The LORD is slow to anger and great in power, And will not at all acquit the wicked. The LORD has His way In the whirlwind and in the storm, And the clouds are the dust of His feet. Nahum 1:3

So each one of us must walk humbly before God as all we receive is from Him and we must give Him all the glory. We must not be impatient about anything but trust God in and for all things.  When we have poured out complaints and requests before God, we can trust God to provide us an answer in due season.  He will not disappoint the believing expectations of those who wait upon Him to see what He will do. Though the promised blessings might be deferred for a season, they will come at last, and abundantly recompense the humble, broken-hearted, saint who waited upon God.  Those who are just and live by faith and persevere to the end shall tread the high places of their enemies. While those who distrust or despise God’s all-sufficiency will find themselves in place they never expected to be. Yes, What God has done before He can and will do again. And doom always comes to proud and oppressive ones especially those who touch or hurt His servants.

The sins of men do destroy them as they sink themselves down into destruction and perdition. What is gotten by violence from others, others shall take away by violence. Covetousness will bring disquiet and uneasiness into a family; he that is greedy of gain troubles his own house and it brings the curse of God upon all the affairs of it.  Yes, there is a lawful gain, which, by the blessing of God, may be a comfort to a house; but what is got by fraud and injustice, will bring poverty and ruin upon a family. God’s word is unchanging:

“Woe to him who gives drink to his neighbor, Pressing him to your bottle, Even to make him drunk, That you may look on his nakedness!  You are filled with shame instead of glory.  You also-drink!  And be exposed as uncircumcised!  The cup of the LORD’S right hand will be turned against you,  And utter shame will be on your glory. For the violence done to Lebanon will cover you, And the plunder of beasts which made them afraid, Because of men’s blood  And the violence of the land and the city,  And of all who dwell in it. “What profit is the image, that its maker should carve it,  The molded image, a teacher of lies,  That the maker of its mold should trust in it,  To make mute idols? Woe to him who says to wood, ‘Awake!’  To silent stone, ‘Arise! It shall teach!’ Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver,  Yet in it there is no breath at all.  But the LORD is in His holy temple.  Let all the earth keep silence before Him.” Habakkuk 2:15-20

The good news is that the Lord revives His work among the people in the midst of the years of adversity and trials. Our God is a God of Mercy and in His wrath He remembers to give mercy to His trusting one who flee to Him for refuge and rely only upon Him.  Everything that we go through is seasonal and subject to change by God who still makes His trusting ones more than conquerors even when the vines and the fig trees are destroyed.  When all is gone, God is not gone and His miracle working power never ceases. His word is unchanging:

“And the patriarchs, becoming envious, sold Joseph into Egypt. But God was with him “and delivered him out of all his troubles, and gave him favor and wisdom in the presence of Pharaoh, king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house. Acts 7:9-10

Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord-that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful. James 5:11

Yes, we might have seasons when we meet with losses and crosses in the world, but the joy of the Lord is still our strength. And He will make our feet like deer’s feet, and He will make us walk on our high hills. The great redemptive work of our Lord covers the complete person—body, soul and spirit. It reaches even into the realm of physical necessities. Jesus said to his disciples, “Take no anxious thought, saying, What shall we eat? Or, what shall we drink? Or, How shall we be clothed? For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:31–34).

We don’t live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God and God is our source of our total supply, our provision, our exceeding great reward and all that we need. Through God’s grace and Spirit we can be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might and stand until the victory and our breakthrough is manifested proving the faithfulness of our God. In the midst of all our troubles Jesus is still a balm for every wound, a cordial for every care. He is still a friend who sticks closer than a brother!

AMAZING

APOSTLE PAUL PRAYED FOR SPIRITUAL UNDERSTANDING FOR CHRISTIAN SAINTS  NOT FOR PAGANS  100_0237

EPHESIANS 1: 15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16    do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17    that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18    the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints 19    and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20    which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21    far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. 22    And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23    which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

PAUL ALSO PRAYED THAT THEY WOULD BE ROOTED AND GROUND IN LOVE AND FILLED WITH ALL THE FULLNESS OF GOD!

EPHESIANS 3: 14    For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15    from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16    that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17    that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18    may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height — 19    to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20    Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21    to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

NOW DOES PAUL’S PRAYERS  MEAN THAT THE CHRISTIAN SAINTS WERE MATURE OR HAD ARRIVED IN THEIR CHRISTIAN WALK? OF COURSE NOT! IT JUST MEANT THEY STARTED THEIR JOURNEY OF THEIR WALK OF FAITH AND HAD MUCH TO LEARN AND UNDERSTAND!

God’s presence, mighty power, wisdom, discernment, love, miracles should be a constant reality in the lives of God’s people to meet whatever need they have or face! They are to be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding so that they might walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father. Because of the mind and life of Christ in them they also laborer fervently in prayers for other Christians for their deliverance and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:19) that they may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God (Colossians 4:12).

People try all kinds of new things seeking health and happiness, but to no avail.  Only Jesus can satisfy the soul, calm the storms of life and establish our goings.  Only God can supply all of our needs spiritually, physically and financially and we can rest in Christ who changes not and enjoy His peace. His word is unchanging:

“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” Luke 11:13

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. John 16:7

The Holy Spirit, the Helper, has come to be to us all that Jesus was to His disciples. He has come to guide us into all truth and to give us God’s best in everything. He wants to be a friend and Helper to us just like Jesus was to His disciples.  He is the Third Person of the Trinity, the personality in the order of the Godhead.  He is in charge of the affairs of the kingdom of God and is the Chief Executor of divine programs on the earth.  He is the Motivator, Energizer and Operator of every revealed plan or vision from God.  He is the Revealer of the hidden treasures of the kingdom of God.  He holds the key to the inheritance of the saints of God. He is the most valuable asset to Christian living.  He is the central figure in any breakthrough in life. He is the only One worth leaning on. He has come to reveal wisdom, knowledge, abilities, enablements and mysteries to us to show us our significance, value and power.  He has come to reveal our God-nature to us and cause us to live in a new dimension.  He has come to comfort us! He’s our invisible Partner, who causes things to work for us that won’t work for others.  We are to trust Him with everything big or small and aren’t to do anything without Him!  He gives us the mind of Christ! God’s word is unchanging:

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.  These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.  But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.  But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one  For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:12-16

The Holy Spirit uses the Word of God to instruct, minister and reveal truth to us.  His wisdom is supernatural and as we yield to His wisdom we become successful and prosperous and victorious. He pours the love of God into our hearts (Romans 5:5) and enables us to live a life of love towards God and others. However He can be grieved when there is envy, bitterness, strife or unforgiveness. He can be grieved when we reject the truth or allow ourselves to be deceived. These things prevent Him from giving us the answers we need for our life. Though His anointing and giftings we can do all kinds of things. God’s word is unchanging:

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:  for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,  to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 1 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. 1 Corinthians 12:7-11

Even so you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, let it be for the edification of the church that you seek to excel. Therefore let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret.  For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.  What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. 1 Corinthians 14:12-15

Arise, And Go!

castle

And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the LORD God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word.”  Then the word of the LORD came to him, saying,  “Get away from here and turn eastward, and hide by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. “And it will be that you shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.” So he went and did according to the word of the LORD, for he went and stayed by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan.  The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook.  And it happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.  Then the word of the LORD came to him, saying, “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.” 1 Kings 17:1-9

The bible tells us that there lived a widow in Zarephath, a town in Sidon. And when God’s provision for Elijah had ceased, and there was severe drought over the Land,  the Lord sent Elijah to Zarepath where He commanded that a widow would provide for him.  So when Prophet Elijah entered the gate of the city where he met the widow. She was gathering sticks to make fire. Elijah called her and asked her for water and food. She told him that she had only a handful of flour and little oil in the jar and was gathering sticks to make something to eat for her son and for herself and that she may die after eating it. Elijah encouraged the widow not to worry and asked her to make first a cake and bring it to him and then they can have for themselves. He told her that the Lord has promised her that the flour in the bin will never get used up and oil in the jar will never run dry. So she did according to what Elijah told her and was greatly blessed.  But if Elijah had a better idea, and didn’t trust the LORD and do exactly what He was told to do, would he had been blessed by God? No! God’s word is unchanging:

Then Samuel said: “Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the LORD?  Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,  And to heed than the fat of rams.

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.

Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He also has rejected you from being king.” 1 Samuel 15:22-23

Those who reject the word of the LORD for their lives will find themselves rejected just like Saul was rejected from being king. Saul for the love of prominence, riches and fame rejected the word of the Lord and was rejected by the Lord from being king. His end was worse than His beginning as the Lord turned His face from Saul. God replaced him with a better man with a man after His own heart who would listen to His voice and obey His commands.

But being in God’s will doesn’t mean that we will not be without problems and challenges from the enemy! The bible tells us that this widow who owned the house her only son became sick and died. She came and poured out her problems to Elijah. The bible records:

So she said to Elijah, “What have I to do with you, O man of God? Have you come to me to bring my sin to remembrance, and to kill my son?” And he said to her, “Give me your son.” So he took him out of her arms and carried him to the upper room where he was staying, and laid him on his own bed.  Then he cried out to the LORD and said, “O LORD my God, have You also brought tragedy on the widow with whom I lodge, by killing her son?”  And he stretched himself out on the child three times, and cried out to the LORD and said, “O LORD my God, I pray, let this child’s soul come back to him.”  Then the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came back to him, and he revived.  And Elijah took the child and brought him down from the upper room into the house, and gave him to his mother. And Elijah said, “See, your son lives!”  Then the woman said to Elijah, “Now by this I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in your mouth is the truth.” 1 Kings 17:18-24

Problems come not to destroy us but prove who we are and the power that we have. Elijah proved that he was a true man of God by taking the son to his upper room, laying him on the bed, and crying out to the LORD to resurrect this boy. And Then the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came back to him, and he revived.  And Elijah took the child and brought him down from the upper room into the house, and gave him to his mother. And Elijah said, “See, your son lives!”

Elisha, who received a double portion of the anointing that was on Elijah, also raised a woman, who also owned a home, her son from the dead. The bible records:

Then Elisha spoke to the woman whose son he had restored to life, saying, “Arise and go, you and your household, and stay wherever you can; for the LORD has called for a famine, and furthermore, it will come upon the land for seven years.” So the woman arose and did according to the saying of the man of God, and she went with her household and dwelt in the land of the Philistines seven years. It came to pass, at the end of seven years, that the woman returned from the land of the Philistines; and she went to make an appeal to the king for her house and for her land. Then the king talked with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, “Tell me, please, all the great things Elisha has done.” Now it happened, as he was telling the king how he had restored the dead to life, that there was the woman whose son he had restored to life, appealing to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, “My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son whom Elisha restored to life.” And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed a certain officer for her, saying, “Restore all that was hers, and all the proceeds of the field from the day that she left the land until now.” 2 Kings 8:1-6

In obedience to the word of the LORD spoken by Elisha, the woman arose and went to the land of the Philistines along with her household for the LORD had called for a famine to come upon the land for seven years. As a result she lost her house and her land and she went to make an appeal to the king for her house and for her land. And as God would have it, the king was talking  with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, about  all the great things Elisha has done.” And it happened, as he was telling the king how Elisha had restored the dead to life, that the woman whose son he had restored to life, appeared. And Gehazi said, “My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son whom Elisha restored to life.”  So the king appointed a certain officer for her, saying, “Restore all that was hers, and all the proceeds of the field from the day that she left the land until now.” In other words those who obey the word of the Lord, will find that God will take care of them no matter how negative the situation might be.

Storms don’t mean that we are not in the will of God as the disciples of Jesus proved to be true! Jesus told His disciples “Let us cross over to the other side of the lake.” So He got into a boat with His disciples. And He said to them, and they launched out.  But as they sailed He fell asleep. And a suddenly a  windstorm came down on the lake, and the boat was  filling with water, and the disciples were afraid. The bible records:

And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm.  But He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, “Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!” Luke 8:24-25

Yes, in times when a great tempest comes against God’s trusting ones, it’s wonderful to know that a vessel with Jesus in it cannot sink for even the winds and the sea obey Him as well as everything else, including demons.  Jesus will bring them safely to the other side of plenty and prosperity and victory.  But this is something that God’s people do not seem to understand that no matter what is going on the miracle working God of all power and unlimited riches and resources is on their side. He is for them and with them and not against them and wants to see them get safely through to the other side.  His trusting ones must not be fearful but are to faithful to stand against all the wiles of the enemy who seeks to destroy them by any means.  For the enemy walks about like a roaring lions seeking whom he may devour by any means. God’s word is unchanging:

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 5:8-11

The Word and the Spirit
“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:12)

How is it that some people can read a biblical passage and find it either tedious, confusing, or even foolish, whereas others will receive great understanding and blessing from the very same passage? The answer is that the first group are animated only by the spirit of the world, “the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience” (Ephesians 2:2), whereas the others are indwelled by the Spirit of God, having received the Holy Spirit when they trusted Christ for forgiveness and salvation.

It was, after all, the Holy Spirit who inspired the Scriptures to begin with. “Holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost” (2 Peter 1:21). “All scripture is given by inspiration of God” (2 Timothy 3:16), that is, “God-breathed,” where the “breath of God” is none other than the “Spirit of God.” Concerning his own divinely inspired writings, Paul said: “We speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth” (1 Corinthians 2:13).

Likewise it is the same Spirit indwelling each believer who illumines, and confirms, and applies His own Scriptures to the individual Christian who reads or hears them. “The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:14). On the other hand, Jesus promised His disciples that “when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13).

This He does through the Scriptures He inspired, with blessings abundant as we study them prayerfully and with believing and obedient hearts.

WE ALL NEED TO CLAIM THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM THAT JESUS HAD EVEN DAILY!

Isaiah 11: 1    There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.
2     The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
3     His delight is in the fear of the LORD, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;
4     But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.
5     Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, And faithfulness the belt of His waist.
