IT IS TO BE NOTED FOR THE RECORD THE MISUSE AND ABUSE OF THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT DOESN’T INVALIDATE THEM

First of all, I want to make it clear that “falling under the power of the Holy Spirit” often called “being slain under the power of the Holy Spirit” is a legitimate work of the Holy Spirit.  However, all of the examples that you share are demonstrations of the misuse of this particular work of the Holy Spirit.  These foolish people are mis-using the Gift of the Holy Spirit which is called, “The Gift of Miracles”.  They have turned it into “entertainment” when is was supposed to be used for individual ministry.  I made this mistake only once and Jesus severely disciplined me.   At a meeting at a Conference, of which I was told there was over 30,000 people, when I gave the altar call, invitation for prayer, I was told that about 5,000 people came for prayer, I was surprised to say the least.  How does one evangelist prayer for all of these people.  So, similar to what is shown Benny Hinn, I ran through the people and saw many people than I could count falling down as I ran through the crowd touching them and waving my coat.  When I arrived back in my hotel room, I was thanking Jesus for the great ministry that night.  He said, “There was no ministry tonight.  All that you did was put on a great show.  My ministry is not entertainment. No one received Salvation, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, healing or deliverance.  From now on, when I send people to the altar, you will pray with each one of them for their needs regardless of how many people, even if it takes you all night.”  And, at many of our meetings it takes many hours to pray with people individually and I experience “the Joy of the Lord which is our strength (Neh. 8: 10).

This is an example of ministry gone bad in order to feed one’s ego.  It does not give glory to God.  Also, in the midst of this kind of entertainment, people will get possessed and harassed by demons. This is the sign of a “counterfeit gift of the Spirit”.    We can see this demonstrated when people start shaking uncontrollably and start making animal noises all in an attempt to imitate the necessary speaking in tongues which is supposed to be legitimate languages spoken in the world today or in the past.  The Holy Spirit gives us “self-control” and the other “fruit of the Spirit.  This is especially a breaking of the rules that Paul say must be followed.  There should only be three messages given with interpretations by people who have the ‘’Gift of Interpretation of Tongues” (Gal. 5: 22 – 23).  When people fall down under the power of the Holy Spirit, it is the “Gift of Miracles” that causes them to fall.  It allows people to experience legitimate  Salvation, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other languages they have never learned called tongues,  Healing, deliverance.  A pastor, who is a friend of mine, didn’t like this until she was caused to fall down in a meeting under the power of the Holy Spirit.  She said, “The Holy Spirit puts us in a position so that Jesus can  minister to us when otherwise we wouldn’t listen to Him”.  It is not necessary for all people to fall down, only those who need a miracle as the Lord decides and so they can be equipped with the “Signs” Following which identify people as authentic believers (Mk. 16: 17 – 20).  Often, when I am praying with people, I can tell when somebody wants the experience of falling down thinking that it will make them feel like better Christians.  When I see this, I put one of my hands at the back of their neck so they can’t fall down.  And, I explain that it is not necessary to fall down in order to have your needs met by Jesus.  And, they do!

These people who cause people to fall down, most often, it is not the Holy Spirit but evil spirits who are working with them and like the Scribes and Pharisees, they cannot discern or know the difference, because like them, it can be said, as Jesus said, “You are wrong because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God” (Matt. 22: 29).  We can also see by these would-be pastors, evangelist, apostles, self-appointed teachers life style and misused offerings which are spent on their own luxurious living, mansions, boats, jet planes and greed.  They are using money given for ministry on themselves instead of ministry.  They condemn themselves and encourage people to have “the love of money….which is the root of all evil” (1 Tim. 6: 10).  We have to separate the legitimate gifts of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 12: 6 – 8; 1 Cor. 12: 8 – 10) from the Counterfeit gifts which are based on sin.  The “Gift of Miracles” provide a wonderful healing of the body.  The counterfeit gift provides an attractive religious experience that leaves people with a false hope and who will die rather than receive healing.  Remember what the Apostle Paul said: “And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philip. 4: 19).  Remember:  it’s about needs, not greeds.

Prosperity is Freedom

In Luke 4, Jesus came to His hometown of Nazareth. He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up to read. He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah, He opened it, and began to read. He read, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord” (Luke 4:18,19).

After reading this from Isaiah, He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. Everyone’s eyes in the synagogue were fixed on Him.

Then Jesus said, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing” (v.21). When Jesus made this statement, He made it very clear why He was anointed.

First of all, He was anointed to preach the gospel to the poor. What is the gospel? The gospel is good news! Jesus came to preach good news to the poor! Now, what do you think that good news was? Was it that they were to always be poor and without hope? No, that is not good news.

The good news was that even though they didn’t have much, even though they were a nation held captive by the Romans, they could be set free from poverty. They could have their needs met. In Matthew 6:33, Jesus even shared how that could be accomplished. While talking about earthly possessions, He said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Notice, He said, “shall be added to you.”

I know that in some religious circles it seems poverty is next to godliness. Nothing could be further from the truth. Jesus did not come to make the poor poorer. He did not come to keep the poor, poor. He came to set the captives free.

Prosperity is a concept Jesus taught and it was something He wanted to give, not something He wanted to take away.

In Luke 6:38, Jesus said, “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

Several times Jesus said that He did not say anything unless the Father instructed Him to say it. (John 8:28, for instance.) So, it must be the will of the Father for His children to prosper.

Now, prosperity is not necessarily money. I know of people who are very prosperous and they do not have a large bank account. However, God’s will is for us to have our needs met. And if a lack of money is going to cause the electric or gas company to end your service and make your family go without heat in your home, then money to pay the bill is a need.

Jesus said that He would meet our needs, but let’s put balance in here. He did give conditions. We can see this in the two verses we read earlier. Matthew 6:33 said we need to seek His kingdom first. And Luke 6:38 said that in order to receive, we had to give. We need to remember these things and not think of prosperity as a heavenly lottery ticket.

Remember this. Jesus came to set you free from everything that is a bondage. Poverty is bondage. Prosperity is freedom. Prosperity is God’s will for you

THE LAUGHTER MOVEMENT

RODNEY HOWARD BROWNE-THE FOUNDER AND ORIGINATOR OF THE LAUGHTER MOVEMENT  

My earliest exposure to the Laughter Movement was in the latter part of 1994 when I read a feature article on Rodney Howard Browne in Stephen Strang’s Charisma Magazine. The so called “outbreaks of revivals” drew my interest and attention but the manifestation of Laughter in these meetings sounded unscriptural to me. So I put the matter off my mind for a season, so to say. My interest was rekindled some time later when there was a local outbreak of laughter among people I personally knew but again I shrugged it off as perhaps something “of the flesh” and something having no spiritual significance. Then one fine day it dawned upon me that a thing of the flesh cannot possibly spread from Toronto to the United Kingdom and to Australia and New Zealand and even to our shores here in such a short period of time. Certainly there could not have been that many actors and actresses acting out their parts in so many cities of the world at the same time! Since then the burden in my heart has been to delve into the root of this phenomenon using God’s Word as my spiritual lamp. The notes appended below and following are the result of months of critical analysis and research through the Bible, books, magazines, articles downloaded from the Internet, videos of Rodney Howard Browne, personal observation and testimonies from many different sources.

The basis of our Christian Faith is in the person of Jesus Christ. We are christians because we believe what the Lord says in the Bible. So likewise we have to know something about the founder of the Laughter Movement and the kind of things he says so that we can decide whether to put our faith in him or not. Who then is Rodney Howard-Browne and what are the things he says?

“In July of 1979, at eighteen years of age, Rodney M. Howard-Browne of Port Elizabeth, South Africa, reached a crossroads in his life……. while at an interdenominational prayer meeting with about eighteen young people at this time, he cried out to the Lord, `God, either you come down here tonight and touch me, or I’m going to die and come up there and touch you.’ He began shouting, frightening nearly everyone who was present. He shouted for twenty minutes……”(1)

Now the first thing to note is that Rodney Howard-Browne reached a crossroad in his life. There is nothing wrong with a crossroad provided you take the right turning. A wrong spiritual turning could be disastrous!

If you analyse Rodney’s prayer carefully you will notice the following points:

*THIS PRAYER SAYS LET MY WILL BE DONE INSTEAD OF LET THY WILL BE DONE

*THIS PRAYER VIOLATES THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD.
God’s Word says that we can only receive what is given [to us] from above. In the spiritual realm, God initiates sovereignly; our duty is to align ourselves to His Will and purpose.
John 3:27
27 To this John replied, “A man can receive only what is given him from heaven. (NIV)

*THIS PRAYER IS NOT HEARD BECAUSE GOD ONLY HEARS PRAYER THAT IS IN ACCORDANCE WITH HIS WILL……
I Jn 5:14
14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. (NIV )

Notice that Rodney Howard Browne threatened to commit suicide if his demand was not met.

When we try to arm-twist or demand something from God, we are in essence asking for something OUT OF HIS WILL. So according to the above Scripture, when we ask out of HIS WILL, God does not hear us. On the other hand, someone else will hear and answer us. We must be aware that there are other spiritual forces at work in this universe.

“In a 1994 interview on TBN with Paul Crouch, Rodney Howard-Browne said…..while he was preaching…. `People began to fall out of their seats…rolling on the floor. The air was moving. People began to laugh uncontrollably while there wasn’t anything funny…..”(2)

So began the so-called Laughter Revival in the United States. Now if you look carefully at Figure No.1 you will notice that this “laughter anointing” passed down from Rodney Howard-Browne to Randy Clark (who apparently came close to a nervous breakdown in 1993) and from Randy Clark the “anointing” passed downwards again to John Arnott, the present pastor of the Toronto Airport Vineyard Church. John’s church was apparently in a “hospital mode”, (presumably spiritually sick), before the outpouring of the Laughter anointing. Later, John himself described this anointing as `highly contagious and transferable.”(3) The services in this church are reputed to have gone on for six nights a week since January 1994. From Toronto, this Laughter Movement has spread to many parts of the world. The ultimate source of the Laughter Movement therefore is still Rodney Howard-Browne.

Now let us analyse some of the things Rodney Howard-Browne says and whether his sayings have any Scriptural validity. The sayings of Rodney Howard-Browne (in italics) below are compared with Scriptures which are in bold.

As you can see from the above, the sayings of Rodney Howard-Browne are contrary to the teachings of the Bible. Are you going to believe Rodney Howard-Browne or are you going to believe the Inspired Word of God?

Nelson’s Bible Dictionary defines a prophet as follows….

PROPHET
A person who spoke for God and who communicated God’s message courageously to God’s Chosen People– the nation of Israel. Nelson’s Illustrated Bible Dictionary, Copyright (C) 1986, Thomas Nelson Publishers

A prophet is one who speaks God’s Word. A false prophet is one who speaks God’s Word falsely. He distorts the truth of God’s Word. He also claims false revelation from God which is opposed to the Word of God. The verses below from Matthew Chapter 24 was spoken by Jesus to his disciples.

Matt 24:3-4
3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. (NIV)

The disciples were believers. So, in essence, Jesus is warning the christians today to be careful `not to be deceived’. There is no point in warning the non-christians as they are already in a state of deception……

2 Cor 4:4
4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (NIV)

False Prophets operate through the process of deception. They lead christians into error (by distorting and twisting the Word of God). If it were possible, these false prophets would also deceive God’s Elect by performing lying signs and wonders [and claiming these to be from the Holy Spirit]…..

Matt 24:11
11 And many FALSE PROPHETS will rise up and DECEIVE and LEAD MANY INTO ERROR. (AMPLIFIED BIBLE-EMPHASIS MINE)

Matt 24:24
24 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect– if that were possible. (NIV)

Remember that they will come IN HIS NAME and therefore mas-querade as “christian” ministers….

Matt 7:21-23
21 “Not everyone who says to me, `Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me on that day, `LORD, LORD, DID WE NOT PROPHESY IN YOUR NAME, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’

RODNEY HOWARD BROWNE who is accountable to no one but himself not only practices nepotism but has had members of his family on the payroll of his nonprofit institution! In theory Browne came to America from South Africa to “revive” a largely sleeping church. He quickly got labeled as a Holy Ghost “bartender” because of the manifestations of “holy laughter” dominating his ministry. In his meetings he taught that no only it was the pastor’s job to fleece the sheep but only God was to judge pastors, not the (dumb) sheep! He also taught that thieves were to be blessed and rewarded, not judged for this is what Jesus would want them to do! He also taught that it was more important to give than to receive and spend a lot of time receiving offerings that he spent on himself and family members. Rodney learned about nepotism from his good friend Senior Pastor Karl Strader of Carpenter’s Home Church, Lakeland, Florida, for the bible stated:

1TM 5:8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Christmas morning, Dec 25, 2002, changed the lives of Dr’s Rodney and Adonica Howard-Browne forever. It was early hours of that morning, that Kelly, their 18 year old daughter, passed away in his arms. She had suffered from the incurable disease, Cystic Fibrosis for 18 years.

As she passed away, Rodney and Adonica offered up to Jesus the best gift they had to offer, their daughter. Rodney then vowed, that because the devil had taken their daughter with this dreaded disease, he would pay with 100 million souls over the next 10 years.

To solve any problem in life we must first admit there is a problem.  And then we must define the problem and work and pray for a solution to the problem. Brother T. Job Anbalagan of the Glory of His Cross Prophetic Ministries in his article “Revival Through Prophesy[i] ” has defined very well why we need a revival

An unsaved person is spiritually dead.  He is a lost soul, as he has not been redeemed from the sin by the Blood of Jesus.  He is to be born again in the Spirit of God.  There are millions of souls in the world awaiting revival from their spiritual death, which came through Adam. On the contrary, a saved soul is spiritually alive.  Nevertheless, he may be spiritually weak, dormant, dull, unconscious or oblivious.  He has a name that he lives but is dead (Rev.3: 1).  There are thousands of saved souls or born-again Christians in our midst, falling under this category.  Though they are born again, yet they are spiritually dumb, deaf, and blind.  They are dumb because they do not tell others about what Jesus has done for them or about the need for salvation through Jesus; they are shy of witnessing for Christ.  They are deaf because they hardly discern the voice of Jesus through the word of God; they are hard of hearing either the footsteps of the coming Messiah from above or the heart-rending cries of lost souls down from the bottomless pit.  They are blind because they do not perceive the suffering Christ in the garb of afflicted strangers who visit their houses for help or who remain sick or in prison (Matt.25: 35-40).        There are many saved Christians who slumber spiritually.  They have lost their first love for God.  Once they were zealous for God actively engaged in soul-winning or helping the mission fields.  The spirit of deep sleep has now come upon them (Is.29:10).

There are many believers who have fallen unconscious spiritually and lost their senses.  They have become indifferent to lost souls and the work in the Lord’s vineyard.  They do not have the agonizing mind of Christ.  Neither do they feel the agonies of the other members of the Body of Christ.   “…Whether one member suffers, all the members suffer with it…” (I Cor.12: 26).  They have no concern for the suffering missionaries on the mission fields or the poor saints in the House of God.

There is yet another category of Christians who are oblivious of their duties and responsibilities in the vineyard of God in this darkest hour as they give preference to the mundane things.

All these kinds of the children of God are likened to the children of Israel who have become “the dry bones” in the prophetic book of Ezekiel (Ch.1). Their lives are not different from the lives of the unsaved persons.  They are like the dry bones in the churches of God, whereas the unsaved persons are like the dry bones in the world. Prophetically speaking, all these children of God represent the last or the end-time Church of the Laodiceans who were lukewarm and were neither cold nor hot.  They are spiritually complacent and say, “I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing”.  However, the Holy Spirit points to them, “thou art wretched, and miserably, and poor, and blind, and naked”.  The Holy Spirit who has been constantly grieved by the lives of such children of God is still standing at the door and knocking at their hearts, unwilling to desert them because of His long-suffering.  “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me” (Rev.3: 14-22).  The bride of the Song of Solomon sleeps but her heart wakes and hears the voice of her Beloved “that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night” (Song 5:2).

Since all these children of God are the individual members of the invisible Body of Christ, the Church, they are to be revived first.  God will send a might revival to this world only through the revived members of the Body of Christ.

There are many demonic inspired movements in Christendom today that talk about a revival but they are not real revival because they don’t involve the whole body of Christ and they don’t affect society and this includes especially the ones in the Third Wave and Rodney Howard Browne and Todd Bentley which are man centered and not Christ centered!

Todd Bentley [ii] is the tattooed former criminal who in July 2008 stepped down from his controversial revival in Florida over an affair with a woman. Bentley, raised in Gibsons, B.C., was known to be a heavy drinker. During his ecstatic services he would often punch or kick sick people in the name of healing them. It wasn’t his outrageous claims of raising the dead that finally landed Todd Bentley in trouble. Not the contradictory sermons, or even his criminal past. Not the face piercings, the neck-toknee tattoos, the biker-dude lifestyle. His followers could live with all that; it was part of the act.

Bentley, a 32-year-old former drug addict from the west coast, was the hottest thing going on the global televangelist circuit. A hog-riding faith healer with a devil-may-care attitude. Then he failed his flock, the old fashioned way: cheating on his wife. Todd Bentley, disgraced, went into hiding for six months and then resurfaced.

In 2009 after the revival failed and Todd Bentley [iii] divorced his wife, Rick Joyner led the restoration team which included leaders who had vouched for Bentley’s good character in the past even as he was deceiving us all, and has posted a letter on his web page. We are informed that ‘Even so, they are married now and are resolved to make the most of their marriage, their lives, and to continue to serve the Lord in the best way that they can. ‘

Their being married far from making it right has in my view made matters even  worse and totally disqualified Todd Bentley from any reinstatement in ministry in the foreseeable future. It means there is no repentance. He has simply gone into outright rebellion by marrying his mistress. Even if his wife had chosen to divorce him, which does not seem to be the case, a more judicious, moral and righteous course of action would have been to break off this adulterous relationship and stay celibate before God Instead, he remarries quickly. And we are put before the fait accompli. Is there a recent translation of the New Testament that decrees that the solution to adultery is to quickly divorce the offended party and marry the mistress?

Canadian Revivalist Todd Bentley preached on seven fold restoration including the restoration of marriage [iv] and had a mistress during the Lakeland demonic revival and-was drunk most of the time –  He stated:

If your marriage needs to be restored then stir up your faith and ask: “My God, please, I want You to restore my marriage, and I want it to be better than it was in the first place. I want there to be double the intimacy.” Get aggressive. Don’t just settle for an “okay, restore my marriage” attitude. “Restore my marriage and give it to me double!”

So why did Todd divorce his wife and not practice what he preached? Because he is a hypocrite, a false one, a son of hell just like all the preachers in the Third Wave!

Rick Joyner and Bill Johnson being both caught up in the realm of deceiving spirits, could  only reinforce TB’s behavior. TB’s declaration of “opening up the stargate portals to the third heaven” had absolutely nothing to do with God or His heavenly realms…it is based on previous declarations by high level occultist. His “angel” connections were not God’s angels, they are familiar spirits and demonic forces. What he does and declares is UTTERLY SATANIC…not “just a little eccentric.” The opening up of these “portals” that TB is engaged in is activated by his own soul power/soul energy called kundalini in Hinduism. Rodney Howard Browne [v] made his ministry known in the USA by playing to a large audience at the Charismatic Carpenter’s Home Church in 1993 and 1994. Through approval by Benny Hinn, who launched him at his own meeting, and Kenneth Copeland’s church meeting along with airplay by TBN He brought the new thing to naïve and silly Christians who were open for just about anything to happen and call it God. And so the new latter rain movement got a shot in the arm with laughing hysterically and being inebriated on the floor.

Rodney who believes in nepotism in his meetings taught that not only it was the pastor’s job to fleece the sheep but only God was to judge pastors, not the (dumb) sheep! He also taught that it was more important to give than to receive and spend a lot of time receiving offerings that he spent on himself and family members.

Rodney also taught that thieves were to be blessed and rewarded, not judged for this is what Jesus would want them to do!  So he blessed thieving Karl Strader with a new Lincoln town car with money raised from the dumb sheep when Karl robbed him but refused to help any of Dan Strader’s victims [vi].

James Jacob Prasch of Moriel Ministries writes in his article  The Delusional World Of Mark Stibbe & St Andrews Chorleywood [vii]:

From Kansas City to the religious fiasco in Toronto, to the failed revival at Brownsville resulting in a major church split and public financial scandal, and on to the infamous heresy and abuse of Lakeland. The same odious characters at the core attracting like-minded charlatans including the Strader brothers, Daniel imprisoned until 2036 for defrauding elderly Christians out of $3 million and Stephen who was thought by the judge to be just as guilty.

After Bentley’s exposure in the USA on ABC Nightline he was swiftly removed from ministry to prevent further scrutiny. Not only was he unable to provide evidence of a single healing, many who were pronounced healed have since died. Furthermore the Arnold Palmer Hospital has stated that claims of resurrections were bogus

For those that don’t know, in 2008 (April to July) there was a revival in Lakeland Florida where people were thrown around by some invisible force (which they, Charisma Magazine insisted was the Holy Spirit). People shook violently on stage claiming the most bizarre manifestations, visions and visitations by angles. Todd Bentley punched and kicked people to heal them, spoke of visiting people in dreams and also told of countless trips to heaven where he once stuffed his pockets with gold from a treasury room. He blasphemously baptised people in the name of the father, the son and the bam. But who could forget the 39 people claimed risen from the dead.

The jerking in Toronto, Brownsville, Lakeland or any other revival place is not a sign of the Holy Spirit but of a Kundalini demon which infiltrated Christianity mainly in North America through Rodney Howard Browne!  The fact is the bible never talks about “jerking” being an attribute of the Holy Spirit but rather it states but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control THE KEY WORD HERE IS SELF-CONTROL AND WHEN YOU ARE POSSESSED BY A DEMONIC KUNDALINI SPIRIT THERE IS NO CONTROL AND THAT IS TOTALLY WRONG AND AGAINST SCRIPTURE!

Pastor/Evangelist Gordon Williams [viii] in his posting “Todd Bentley Is Not A Christian” states:

Jesus heals, I must disagree with you when you wrote, “Miracles and gifts of the spirit don’t validate a Christian. The fruit of the spirit validates a Christian. peace, love, patience, hope, joy, faith.” First, you did not mention all of the fruit of the Spirit but I know what you mean (Gal. 5: 22 -23). The reason why I disagree with you is because you continuously mis-identify people, like Todd Bentley as a Christian. He is not a Christian nor are those who go chasing after the counterfeit signs and so-called miracles that he and others misrepresent as being from the Holy Spirit. Real Christian Believers do not get deceived and offer counterfeits because they draw attention to themselves and they cannot tell the difference between the work of the Holy Spirit and the work of the devil and demons. They do not do the things that the New Testament tells us clearly are the work and character of authentic Christian believers. They glory in their sin and make excuses for their adulterous work, drunkenness and love of money to say nothing of all the works of the flesh which they seem to think are the fruit of the Holy Spirit. As a man once told me: “If it doesn’t look like a sheep, and eat like a sheep and talk like a sheep and do sheep things, it isn’t a sheep”. Well, just stop and look at all the un-Scriptural things these people are doing. They do not look like Christians, they don’t eat as Christians, they do not talk like Christians and they do not do Christian things. So, they are not Christians.

Jesus tells us that the “signs” following confirm the preaching of the Word and prove who are authentic believers. This is very clear when you examine the Greek definition of “signs”. They were the reason why Nicodemus said to Jesus, “Rabbi, we know that you are a man sent from God; for no man could do these signs that you do, unless God is with him” (Jn. 3: 2). The legitimate 15 Gifts of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 12: 6 – 8; 1 Cor. 12: 8 – 10)prove that we are authentic believers. The fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5: 22 – 23) describes the Character of Jesus which the Holy Spirit develops us so that we can use the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Because the real or authentic Gifts of the Holy Spirit are not being used and encouraged with these counterfeit Christians who demonstrate counterfeit gifts, we have to be very careful in choosing our words as I think you have done in your letter. I learned a long time ago that there are “Christians” and there are “christians” (religious people) who are not believers. People, like the person you mentioned who received healing and made the mistake of attributing it to Todd Bentley has not learned that whoever calls on Jesus will catch Jesus’ attention, even while watching a deceptive person pretending to be a believer, and answer their prayer and heal them. When I examine these counterfeit Christians, according to Scripture, they are not believers according to Jesus Christ. Because most pastors and churches do not encourage the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and use the 15 Gifts of the Holy Spirit, they are easy victims when the counterfeits are demonstrated. This is an important ministry that we have in the churches that I am invited to preach and do ministry. As you know it is “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ” (Eph. 4: 12). So, I suggest that you do not look upon such people as Christians because they are not

THE BEST DEFENSE

 KNOW WHAT TO FIGHT FOR …

The poorest person in the world isn’t the one without money, but the one without a God–given vision. Vision requires faith—and focus.

Unless you understand what’s worth fighting for, you risk:

(1) Fighting the wrong battles.
(2) Fighting at the wrong time.
(3) Fighting when you shouldn’t be involved.
(4) Fighting because you need to win in order to feel good about yourself.
(5) Fighting even though the battle is already lost but your pride won’t let you accept it.

The most important thing is: stay focused on the goal God has given you. If Satan can’t defeat you outright, he’ll try to distract you with unimportant things, or disqualify you by getting you to make bad decisions. Either way, he wins and you lose. Just because something is good doesn’t mean it’s right for you. When your plate is full doing what God’s already given you to do, learn to say ‘no’ to everything else. Once you can do that, you free yourself from other people’s expectations and the need for their approval. Bear in mind also that ‘no’ doesn’t mean ‘never’; often it means ‘not now’. When you’re spread too thinly, you become mediocre at everything and effective at nothing. When you try to fight on every front, you wear yourself out and fail to win where it counts. Fighting a battle without gaining ground is like pouring buckets of water on a burning shack—unless somebody’s life is in danger it’s probably not worth it. So conserve your energy for when you have something really important at stake.

RECEIVE AS YOU HEAR THE GOOD NEWS

Romans 1:16 – For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes…

If you have been to motivational seminars, you would probably have heard the speakers say, “If you follow these five steps, then you will come to a place of financial increase.” They would probably have told you also that if you don’t succeed, it is because you did not follow the steps correctly or diligently.

Thank God that the gospel or good news does not work like that! The minute you hear or read the good news, and you believe and receive it, His Word goes forth to sozo (the Greek word for “save”) you, making you whole in every way, “for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes”.

What is the good news? It is that God loves us so much that He gave us His Son to take our beating so that we can have His blessings without having to work for them. Right now, as you are reading this devotional, listening to a preacher or watching a sermon DVD, as you hear God’s Word, His power is released into your situation, working things out for you and turning your situation around for your good.

In Acts 14:8–10, we see Paul preaching the good news in Lystra. A man who was crippled from birth was listening to Paul. Paul, seeing that he had faith to be healed, said, “Stand up straight on your feet!” And the man leaped and walked! He heard the good news, believed it and was healed.

At a leadership conference in Oslo, Norway, where I was speaking, a pastor there shared how a well-respected businessman in his church was healed while listening to one of my sermon CDs. This man was deaf in one ear. And when he was listening to my teaching on the CD, his deaf ear popped open without anyone laying hands on him or praying for him! He was just listening to the good news when his ear opened. Now, that is what I call the power of God unto his salvation, sozo-ing him, making his hearing whole!

My friend, these miracles happen not because we follow some kind of formula faithfully, but because we hear the good news preached and simply believe it!

A CONSISTENT LIFE

He knelt down on his knees . . . and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days. —Daniel 6:10

While studying the book of Daniel, I was struck by how easily he could have avoided being thrown into the den of lions. Daniel’s jealous rivals in the government of Babylon laid a trap based on his consistent practice of daily prayer to God (Dan. 6:1-9). Daniel was fully aware of their plot and could have decided to pray privately for a month until things settled down. But that was not the kind of person he was.
“When Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days” (v.10). Daniel did not panic, nor bargain with God. Instead, he continued “just as he had done before” (v.10 niv). He was not intimidated by the pressure of persecution.

The lesson for me was the power of Daniel’s life of consistent devotion to the Lord. His strength came from God, whom Daniel wanted to please every day. When a crisis came, Daniel didn’t need to change his daily practice to meet it. He simply stayed committed to his God.

Father, I want to stand for You when persecution comes as Daniel did. Give me that same bold commitment to pray and not to be ashamed of knowing You. Help me to live my faith publicly.

God empowers us to stand for Him as we bow to pray.

THE BEST DEFENSE

Matthew 5:39, “But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.”

Which would you rather have – God defending you, or you defending yourself? That’s the choice that Jesus is offering us here. “Turning the other cheek” is not a prescription for abuse but rather the way to get the Lord involved in your defense.

Many people feel that these instructions of Jesus guarantee that others will take advantage of us. That would be true if there was no God. But when we follow these commands of Jesus, the Lord is on our side. He said in Rom. 12:19, “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”

When we fight back, we are drawing on our own strength. But when we turn the other cheek, we are invoking God as our defense. Once we understand this, it becomes obvious that these instructions are for our own good.

James 1:20, says that the wrath of man does not accomplish the righteousness of God. Regardless of how appropriate our anger may seem, and regardless of how we think our wrath could make a person or situation change, we will never achieve God’s best that way.

When we defend ourselves, we stop God from defending us. It has to be one way or the other. It cannot be both ways. When we turn the other cheek to our enemies, we are loosing the power of God on our behalf. Let God defend you today.

GOD IS AT WORK WITHIN YOU (2)

‘…God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.’ Philippians 2:13 NLT

The Bible says: ‘…It is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energising and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure…satisfaction and delight.’ (Philippians 2:13AMP) We have a tendency to allow 101 different things to crowd God out of our lives, so He creates within us the desire to do His will. When you desire to read your Bible, it’s God urging you to do it. When you desire to pray, it’s God moving you to do it. When you desire to give, it’s God motivating you to do it. Jesus said: ‘…I am the Vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing…If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!’ (John 15:5–7 NLT) Note the word ‘dwell’; it means to live in and take up residence. So as you live in close relationship with Christ, the desires conceived within you are desires He can fulfil. When you sense that God has put certain desires in your heart, it’s important to pray and ask for those things. If you’re not sure whether or not they’re from Him, pray: ‘Lord, I have desires in my heart that may be from you. If they are, please fulfill them, but if not I can be happy without them, because I am happy with You. Lord, I trust you.’ Always measure your desires by God’s Word so you continue abiding in the Vine. Have you reached that place in your relationship with God yet?

Be constant in Prayer:

The power of prayer should not be underestimated (James 5:16- 18) . Pray without ceasing. Prayer is communicating with God. Even though we can’t see Him with our eyes, He is with us all the time. We need to turn our spiritual eyes towards Him in order to feel His divine presence. He wants us to talk with Him just like we would talk with our friends. He wants us to ask for His opinion. He wants us to tell Him when we are happy. He wants us to tell Him when we are sad.

When we read the verses in the book of Exodus chapter 17, verses from 8 to 13, we can see that the people of Israel fought against the Amalekites. Moses went to the top of the hill with the staff of God and held up his both hands towards heaven. As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. Then Aaron and Hur took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. One on the one side and the other on the other side held up his hands. His hands were steady until the going down of the sun. And with this, the people of Israel defeated Amalekites.

What was the reason for the victory of Israelites? It was by the continuous prayer of Moses. In Romans 12.12, the Bible says “Be constant in prayer.” Pray to God without ceasing, He will mould your life and help you to lead a victorious life.

WILL RESCUE YOU

 Angels Came And Ministered

and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ” Matthew 4:6

Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him. Matthew 4:11

Theologians and preachers who are bankrupt in things that are God including miracles, signs, wonders, love, the gift and fruits of the Spirit tell us many lies including we cannot ask for angels to come and help us and fight our battles or that we must constantly be aware of angels and even worship them! Yet the bible clearly tells us:

“Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven. Matthew 18:10

“Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels? Matthew 26:53

Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation? Hebrews 1:14

Multiple angels have been assigned to each child of God and just for the asking God can provide his trusting children with more than twelve legions of angels to minister to them and help them in time of need! And that is why Elijah wasn’t worried when there was an army surrounding the city with horses and chariots who had come against him! The bible tells us:

And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?”  So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”  And Elisha prayed, and said, “LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the LORD, and said, “Strike this people, I pray, with blindness.” And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.  Now Elisha said to them, “This is not the way, nor is this the city. Follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom you seek.” But he led them to Samaria.  So it was, when they had come to Samaria, that Elisha said, “LORD, open the eyes of these men, that they may see.” And the LORD opened their eyes, and they saw; and there they were, inside Samaria  Now when the king of Israel saw them, he said to Elisha, “My father, shall I kill them? Shall I kill them?”  But he answered, “You shall not kill them. Would you kill those whom you have taken captive with your sword and your bow? Set food and water before them, that they may eat and drink and go to their master.”  Then he prepared a great feast for them; and after they ate and drank, he sent them away and they went to their master. So the bands of Syrian raiders came no more into the land of Israel. 2 Kings 6:15-22

Elijah was aware of the power of God and what faith in God can do and he had no qualms to pray to God to move Him to do something about this negative situation. So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the LORD, and said, “Strike this people, I pray, with blindness.” And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. And Elisha led them to Samaria. Amazingly Elisha prepared a great feast for them; and after they ate and drank, he sent them away and they went to their master. So the bands of Syrian raiders came no more into the land of Israel.  And the bible clearly tell us that God wants us to be aware of what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power:

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. John 15:16

Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers:  that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,  the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,  far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Ephesians 1:15-23

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,  to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21

So instead of worrying about and struggling with the needs in our life, we can just walk boldly into the throne room of our Father and receive help to get those needs met.  As a blood-bought child of Almighty God with a big brother like Jesus we now have available to us a God of power, An Almighty God who loves us so much that He desires, above all, to give to us! Yes God is a giver and a lover who loves His people and desires to give them things just for the asking! Yes God made loving promises of blessing and protection. But He’s always faced that same obstacle–human beings who just couldn’t bring themselves to believe those promises were true.

The Lord has promised since He has chosen us He will make us bear much fruit in life and shall grant all our prayers including for the spirit of wisdom and revelation so that we might know what is our inheritance and what belongs to us. Through the new birth making us sons of God we has access to everything they God has and is! And since we are God`s chosen vessel, He will make us enjoy His peace on all sides and provide us the finest blessings (Psalms 147:14) and will exalt us above others soon, as He pours His Holy Spirit upon us. God’s word is true:

After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”  But Abram said, “Lord GOD, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”  Then Abram said, “Look, You have given me no offspring; indeed one born in my house is my heir!”  And behold, the word of the LORD came to him, saying, “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir.”  Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.”  And he believed in the LORD, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.   Then He said to him, “I am the LORD, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give you this land to inherit it.” Genesis 15:1-7

“How lovely are your tents, O Jacob! The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry.  The face of the LORD is against those who do evil,  To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.  The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles.  The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart,  And saves such as have a contrite spirit.  Many are the afflictions of the righteous,  But the LORD delivers him out of them all.  He guards all his bones;  Not one of them is broken. Psalm 34:15-20

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2

Since the Garden of Eden and continuing through when God called Abraham, prosperity, not poverty, has been God’s will and desire for His people. And the bible doesn’t tell us that the so called “Acts of God” are of God who has come to steal, kill and destroy? On the contrary the bible tells us prosperity, promotion, salvation, healing, deliverance and every good thing comes from God to His friends and servants just like it came to Job after the devil attacked him and stole everything from him:

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10

Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”  Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,  casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.  Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your  brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.  To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. 1  Peter 5:6-11

Pastor Mike and Sheila Mizell have been Senior/Lead Pastor since 1993. They were married in 1986. They have two children, a daughter Rebekah who serves in ministry and a son, Dakota who is in the US Air Force. Under Pastor Mike’s leadership Bethel Temple has experienced tremendous growth with people coming from all walks of life and denominational handles. Pastor Mike’s passion is to see the body of Christ united as the family of God; a place where everyone is someone and has something to contribute. Outreach and missions are huge components that drive his vision and leadership. Under his leadership sermons and teachings are solidly biblical and transformational; outreach is priority and services are designed to be engaging and uplifting. Pastor Brent SHIELDS, Executive Pastor for Worship & ARTS

Pastor Brent started in ministry in December of 1989 as a Youth Pastor and spent 8 years in youth ministry.  He became the Music Pastor at Bethel Temple in October of 1998 and currently serves as the Executive Pastor for Worship and Arts, overseeing the music ministry as well as drama and creative arts and media ministries.

He studied Criminal Justice at Tarleton State University.

Pastor Brent married his wife, Rachael, in 1999.  They have 3 kids.  Landry was born in December of 2004, Makenna in April of 2006 and Maddox in January of 2008.

In his spare time, he enjoys helping with the kids’ sports and school activities and just spending time with his family, especially in the boat on a lake anywhere.

What’s on his iPod?  All kinds of music, but some of his favorites at the moment are Hillsong, Jesus Culture and the Desparation Band.  There’s also a lot of 80’s stuff as well!

His goal in ministry is for Bethel’s team to foster an environment where the Holy Spirit is free to move as He sees fit, to be effective for the Kingdom and not just polished musicians and vocalists.  His heart is to see the old and the young, the new believer and the seasoned saint experience the presence of a Holy God each time we gather and watch how He becomes exactly what each one needs no matter what walk of life they come from.  He counts it a high honor to be able to lead God’s people into His presence each week.

Pastor Mackenzie  received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Church Ministries from Southwestern Assemblies of God University.

 There Is No God Besides Me

“But if you indeed obey His voice and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.  “For My Angel will go before you and bring you in to the Amorites and the Hittites and the Perizzites and the Canaanites and the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will cut them off.  “You shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their works; but you shall utterly overthrow them and completely break down their sacred pillars. “So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.  “No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days. Exodus 23:22-26

‘Now see that I, even I, am He,  And there is no God besides Me;  I kill and I make alive;  I wound and I heal;  Nor is there any who can deliver from My hand. A simple analysis of the bible shows us the obedience to God’s voice and doing all that He speaks brings the blessings of God into our lives. Jesus told us in  John  10:27 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And He told us in Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. There must be a constant fellowship with God almighty and interaction on a daily basis to hear and do what our Commander in Chief would instruct us to do.  God has a plan and purpose for every individual on this planet He has created. His word is unchanging:

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

Contrary to what many Christians believe and practice, Christianity is not a religion based on scriptures, prophecies and deeds but a relationship with a mighty God where there is a two way communication by the Spirit. And as Christians, what we need is more of God and His Spirit and wisdom that He gives and less of ourselves and our ways.

We don’t know the mind of God and as matter of fact we don’t know much at all. We can only receive by faith all the gifts that the Father has for us and others including the gift of faith and wisdom and then use them. We must learn to speak the words that God has whispered in our hearts, and understand that He watches over His word to perform. Then we can rest in Him to do what He said He will do. God’s has promised that there will be seedtime and harvest but he has not told us when? Our responsibility after the seed falls into the ground and dies, is to continue in faith ‑yes, even in wavering faith ‑ believing that the seed of His Word will not fail to produce a bountiful crop even a hundred fold.

We must not be clever, but we must be clear. Our message is the simple Gospel, not higher consciousness. We are not helping people to get God right, but to get right with God. The Holy Spirit alone opens hearts and minds not us. But we must learn to hear God’s voice and we must learn to obey it. Not the voice of dull religion. Not the voice of our fears and prejudices.  We don’t have to know everything ‑ God does. We must trust His perfect knowledge. And if we tune into His voice and obey it, He will see to it that we are used in His great purpose.

We need to learn that the Holy Spirit is not a force but a person with whom we can fellowship and interact freely at all times.  The Holy Spirit does not possess us. He honors our choices. He indwells us, and prompts us with such things as an upwelling of divine compassion. We must somehow learn to follow the prompting of compassion. God is in it.

Yes, the Lord is a shield to all those who trust in Him. And no one is more powerful than the Lord who rides the heavens to help His trusting ones. He is the shield of their help and the sword of their majesty!  As a result their enemies whoever or whatever they might be shall submit to them, and His trusting ones shall tread down their high places. They have God’s unchanging word on it:

He sent from above, He took me; He drew me out of many waters.  He delivered me from my strong enemy, From those who hated me, For they were too strong for me.  They confronted me in the day of my calamity, But the LORD was my support.  He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me. The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; According to the cleanness of my hands He has recompensed me. Psalm 18:16-20

The only one who is perfect in the universe and His work is perfect is God whose ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice. Righteous and upright is He (Deuteronomy 32:3-4). And you don’t want to get in His way when He whets His glittering sword, and His hand takes hold on judgment. He will render vengeance to His enemies, and repay those who hate Him. He will avenge the blood of His servants, and render vengeance to His adversaries; He will provide atonement for His land and His people. And no one will stand against Him. Yes, what God has done before He can and will do again. His word is unchanging:

“For what great nation is there that has God so near to it, as the Lord our God is to us, for whatever reason we may call upon Him?” Deuteronomy 4:7

“And it shall be, when you come into the land which the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, and you possess it and dwell in it,  “that you shall take some of the first of all the produce of the ground, which you shall bring from your land that the LORD your God is giving you, and put it in a basket and go to the place where the LORD your God chooses to make His name abide. “And you shall go to the one who is priest in those days, and say to him, ‘I declare today to the LORD your God that I have come to the country which the LORD swore to our fathers to give us.’  “Then the priest shall take the basket out of your hand and set it down before the altar of the LORD your God. “And you shall answer and say before the LORD your God: ‘My father was a Syrian, about to perish, and he went down to Egypt and dwelt there, few in number; and there he became a nation, great, mighty, and populous.  ‘But the Egyptians mistreated us, afflicted us, and laid hard bondage on us. ‘Then we cried out to the LORD God of our fathers, and the LORD heard our voice and looked on our affliction and our labor and our oppression. ‘So the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm, with great terror and with signs and wonders.  ‘He has brought us to this place and has given us this land, “a land flowing with milk and honey”;  ‘and now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land which you, O LORD, have given me.’ Then you shall set it before the LORD your God, and worship before the LORD your God.  “So you shall rejoice in every good thing which the LORD your God has given to you and your house, you and the Levite and the stranger who is among you. Deuteronomy 26:1-11

“And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. “Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. John 16:23-24

Yes when God trusting ones cry out to the Lord because of their affliction and oppression, He hears their voice and delivers them with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm, with signs and wonders and brings them to a land of plenty and prosperity. Yes, they are to ask the Father in Jesus name and they will receive that their joy may be full. God does these kinds of things for His friends.  Yes, they did not choose Jesus Christ, but He chose them  and appointed them  that they should go and bear fruit, and that their fruit should remain, that whatever they  ask the Father in Jesus  name He may give them (John 15:16).  God’s word is unchanging:

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.  “You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.  “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. John 15:1-8

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. 1 John 5:14-15

Though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.  For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,  casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, including every demon, diseases, sickness, and oppression ( 2 Corinthians 10:3-5). God’s word is unchanging:

And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?”  So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”  And Elisha prayed, and said, “LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.  So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the LORD, and said, “Strike this people, I pray, with blindness.” And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.  Now Elisha said to them, “This is not the way, nor is this the city. Follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom you seek.” But he led them to Samaria. 2 Kings 6:15-19

Yes, for a true believer of Christ, the Spiritual world is the real and greater world than the natural world. But this is something that most carnal ones don’t understand or avail themselves off – God’s great and wonderful miracle working power. Yes, God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,  that no flesh should glory in His presence (1 Corinthians 1:27-27).

It’s a fact that more things are achieved by praying in the Spirit, in tongues, that bring real changes on earth than any other method known to man for it’s God Himself praying through His people bring His kingdom and will on earth! Yes, there is rest and victory in Jesus in, through and by the Spirit of the LORD. God’s word is unchanging:

At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes.   “Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. “All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.  “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:25-30

And we must resist the enemy and pray continually to see God’s blessings upon us:

Satan, I renounce you, and I take back all the ground that I ever yielded to you. God is my source of wisdom, knowledge, guidance, victory, strength and power. In Jesus name I declare total and complete victory over every enemy!  You familiar spirits, leave me, in the name of Jesus. Lord Jesus, I belong to You. You have saved me and redeemed me by Your blood. I have need of no spirit other than The Holy Spirit. Forgive me for having sought from other spirits that which should only come from You. I renounce and separate myself from all familiar spirits, however acquired. I call upon You, Lord, to deliver me from the lies and deceptions of familiar spirits, all the works and wiles of the enemy and to heal me of all their works and all things. Teach me Your truth and Your ways. It is my earnest desire to walk in Your will and to glorify Your name. Amen.

Father God, You are the wonder-working God. I come boldly before Your throne of mercy and grace seeking healing for my body, blessings in my finances and total victory over every enemy. Deliver me from every bondage and enemy. Heal me from every infirmity. Guard me from all forces of darkness. Cleanse me from all unrighteousness by Your precious blood. Remove every fear from my heart and let Your divine light shine in my heart. Grant me the strength of Your divine spirit and strengthen me.

Lord Your word says that You are the God that heals us of all our diseases, all our sickness, redeem us from destruction, gives us victory over all our enemies and satisfy us with good things and my enemies would flee from me seven ways.  You said that You would take my sickness away from me, bless me coming in and going out and I would thread the high places of my enemies.  Your word says that You desire above all things that we prosper and be in good health.  Therefore I know that it is Your will for me to be in good health.  Therefore, in the name of Jesus, I come against any s spirit of infirmity and spirit of poverty that is trying to overtake me, and render it helpless in the mighty name of Jesus.

Father in the name of Jesus, I bind every spirit of sickness and disease, every spirit of infirmity, and every other demonic spirit that the enemy is trying to use against my life in any way.  By the authority of Jesus Christ, I pull down every stronghold of the adversary against my body, and command him to flee from every area of my body, as well as my life and my finances, in the name of Jesus.  Satan I render You helpless, powerless, and ineffective against my body and my finances in the name of Jesus.   For greater is He that is in me that he that is in the world, therefore You will not overcome me, for I have overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of my testimony, and I say to You “ BY THE STRIPES OF JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH I AM HEALED, BLESSED AND MADE PERFECT, WHOLE AND COMPLETE!

Heavenly Father, we come in faith believing that Jesus Christ is healer. We are created in your image and we speak as you speak. We command bones in the feet and legs to be strengthened so that the lame may walk. We speak to sores, cankers, diseases, infirmities, cancers, growths and tumors and decree by the shed blood of Jesus Christ that they are healed! We praise you Lord God that is so. Amen.

Father, You said if we had faith the grain of a mustard seed, we could speak to the mountain and it would be removed.  So I speak to my mountain of sickness, poverty and lack in my life and in the name of Jesus Christ, I command  it to be removed, uprooted, and cast into the sea.  In the name of Jesus, I command it to die at the root, and never to spring up again.  By the authority of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I claim total restoration of every organ, every cell, every part of my body, and in the name of Jesus my body will function in perfection, the way God made it to and for my finances that my storehouse be filled to the brim and be overflowing . I loose great and wonderful miracles of healing and restoration and blessing of every kind spiritual, physical and financial for me my family my loved ones my special friends and for your people in Jesus name.

Father, I thank You for hearing my prayer.  I thank You for interceding for me, and not letting Your word return void.  I thank You that You watch over Your word to perform it, and that Your word will always accomplish that which You sent it to do.   Father in the name of Jesus, I receive my healing, my deliverance, my blessing and prosperity this day and I praise the name of Jesus for all of it. In Jesus name, I pray all this and give you all the praise and glory and honor for what You have done, are doing and shall do! Amen and amen!

OUTSTANDING EVANGELICAL RELIGIOUS NUTS

Looking back at the year 2014 I found at least two outstanding religious nuts in the person of Ernest Angley, the Abortionist, and Matt Sorger, the Deceiver!

Who would have guessed that the classical great Pentecostal Preacher and healer whose services I had attended in Akron, Ohio, Ernest Angley was a murderer!

AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Televangelist Ernest Angley has long controlled members of his Akron-area congregation by advising them not to have children, shunning those who leave the church and using free labor at his for-profit buffet restaurant and television station, according to a two-month newspaper investigation.
The Akron Beacon Journal published a series of articles starting last week after interviewing more than 20 former members of Grace Cathedral in the Akron suburb of Cuyahoga Falls. Some of those interviewed described Angley’s church as a cult.
A woman who answered the phone at Grace Cathedral on Monday and would identify herself only as Nancy told The Associated Press that Angley was not interested in responding to the accusations. “It’s all lies,” she said.
Several people told the Beacon Journal that they and their spouses did not have children because husbands were encouraged to have vasectomies, and that Angley examined men’s genitals before and after surgery. One woman told the newspaper she was pressured into having an abortion.
“He doesn’t want people to have kids because it would take their time and money away” from the church, Greg Mulkey, a former church member, told the newspaper.
Several former members said Angley, 93, also wanted to keep quiet allegations that teens had been sexually molested by other church members, including someone close to him.
Angley told the Beacon Journal in an interview that it wasn’t “his place” to report the accusations to authorities. And he denied that he tries to control his congregation, saying he counsels those who seek advice. It’s a “bad time” for couples to have children because of the dangers in the world, he told the newspaper.

First of all, there has been one and only ONE acceptable sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary. That is what our God thinks of this foolish offering of sacrifices by people who deny the work of Jesus Christ. It translates into having his name removed from the Book of Life (Rev. 3: 5).
And by he way, this is how stupid his Goll is because William Seymour can not leap over anything because he is dead and kept very busy in paradise. What we have here is what Paul writes about in 2 Thess. 2: 11 – 12): “Therefore God sends upon them a strong delusion, to make them believe what is false, so that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” He and his pogo jumping delusion are in big trouble. And, finally, the Holy Spirit has never left this earth because He is continually Baptizing people with the Holy Spirit. The only person that is fragmented is Jame Goll because, as we have said about people like him, “You are wrong because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God” (Jn. 22: 29). Perhaps the most laughable thing about his message is that he is telling the Holy Spirit “And the invitation must have an urgent and appropriate response.”

A BETTER COVENANT

RECOGNIZING AND WALKING IN GOD’S WILL (5)

‘I seek not to please Myself but Him who sent Me.’ John 5:30 NIV

When the light turns green, go! If you’re in sales, it’s crucial to know when to close the deal. Beginners often lose sales by ‘overselling’. They present their product and demonstrate how it meets their client’s needs. It’s priced right and the customer is ready to purchase, but the novice keeps on ‘selling’ until the customer becomes suspicious of his pitch and he loses the sale. Knowing when to ‘close’ is essential. Accurate aim is important, but you must know when to pull the trigger. Trust the steps you’ve taken and move forward; otherwise you’ll get stuck in a cycle of second–guessing. At some point in your search for God’s will, you must take that decisive and often intimidating next step. All your studying, praying, discussing, researching, checking and rechecking are fruitless if you don’t act. All the faith in the world will fail you if you stop short of doing something (James 2:17–18). Here’s a last–minute test:
(1) Have you submitted your will to God?
(2) Are you faithfully serving where He appointed you?
(3) Are you willing to do what He has revealed?
(4) Have you received and believed the Spirit’s leading?
(5) Are you trusting in His power to fulfil His directions? How did you do? Did you pass?
Then it’s time to move forward! Don’t wait until you feel fearless. Take that first, fearful step. Act your way into boldness, and fear will lose its ability to control or paralyse you. When the light turns green, God’s resources are available for your assignment. Now’s the time to move!

A BETTER COVENANT

Hebrews 7:22 by so much more Jesus has become a surety of a better covenant.

Hebrews 8:6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.

Hebrews 12:24 to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.

Under an inferior Old Testament covenant God blessed Abraham  greatly, and he has become great; and He had given him flocks and herds, silver and gold, male and female servants, and camels and donkeys (Genesis 24:35)!  He saved and delivered His people from bondage in Egypt and brought them out with silver and gold, And there was none feeble among His tribes (Psalms 105:37) He also  delivered David from his  strong enemy King Saul from those who hated him.  He also brought him out into a broad place; He delivered David  because He delighted in him ( Psalms 18-19). He gave David gave his master’s house and  his master’s wives into his keeping, and gave him the house of Israel and Judah. And if that had been too little,  He also would have given him much more (Samuel 12:8)!

But foolish ignorant blind ones  teach that God doesn’t do such things any more under the new inferior New Testament even though God’s word clearly states:

Romans 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

1 Corinthians 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

Galatians 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Yes under the New Inferior Covenant God’s will is for total prosperity and redemption for His people and they alone by their faith limit what God can and will do for them!

Hebrews 11:32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets:33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

FORGIVENESS IS FOR THE UNDESERVING

Matthew 18:21 – Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”

Peter asked the Lord how often he should forgive his brother. The Lord’s answer to him was simple: Up to 70 times seven times. (Matthew 18:22) In other words, all the time!
“Well, Pastor, he does not deserve my forgiveness.”
Neither did you deserve God’s forgiveness.

There is not a single person alive or dead who did not break all 10 of God’s commandments. There is no such thing as a “partial sinner” or “great sinner”. All of us were great sinners when Jesus saved us. And when we realize that we are forgiven much, we will love much. (Luke 7:47)

“Pastor, how can you say that I have broken all of God’s commandments? I have never committed adultery.”

My friend, Jesus said, “If you lust after a woman in your heart, you have already committed adultery with her.” (Matthew 5:28) That is God’s standard. Man looks outward, but God looks inward at the heart. Moreover, if you break one law, you are guilty of all. (James 2:10) So everyone has broken all of God’s commandments. Everyone is a great sinner.

Now, you are no longer a sinner if you have received Christ as your Savior. You are a new creation. But you were a great sinner and God forgave you your huge debt through the death of His Son.

So if someone has wronged you, tell yourself this: “I did not deserve God’s forgiveness, but He forgave me through Christ. So I forgive this person also.” If you say something like, “He does not deserve it,” it makes no sense. Forgiveness is not for people who deserve it. If they deserve anything, it is punishment. But forgiveness means that you extend grace—undeserved favor—like how God extends undeserved favor to you.

Beloved, if you choose to hold on to bitterness, no one suffers but you. You lose your peace, then possibly your health. It is just not worth it. God says to you, “Let go. Forgive them their debts, just as I have forgiven you yours.”

Thought For The Day :
When we realize that we are forgiven much, we will love much.

GOOD GROUND THAT PRODUCES :

Still other seeds fell on fertile soil, and they produced a crop that was thirty, sixty, and even a hundred times as much as had been planted! – Matthew 13:8, NLT

In life, there are many kinds of seeds we can sow, but do you know what produces the best crop? The seed of God’s Word planted on the soil of our hearts. The more of the Word you take into your heart, the more abundant the harvest will be.

Our job, as believers, is to make sure we are good ground. The scripture tells us there are things that can choke the seed of the Word — the cares of this world and greed and selfishness act as thorns that stop the seed from growing. It also tells us that in order for the seed to take root, we need to stand strong during the difficult times when persecution and challenges come.

If you have hard or dry places in your heart today, God wants to soften those areas. He promised in Ezekiel that He will take out the stony, hard heart and replace it with a new heart, a heart that is good ground and open to Him. CHOOSE TO FOCUS ON ALL THAT IS GOOD

Mark 14:38 “Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.”

Temptation is linked directly to what we think upon (Heb. 11:15). Temptation has to be entered into. We can avoid temptation by avoiding thoughts that generate temptation (Prov. 23:7). Since it is impossible to not think, we cannot just try to reject the negative thoughts in this world, but we must choose to think on the positive truths of God. This is where prayer comes in.

In prayer, we have our minds stayed upon God and therefore, are not receptive to thoughts that conceive temptation. Temptation or sin must be conceived (Jas. 1:14-15). In the physical realm, the easiest way to avoid an unwanted birth is to avoid conception, so it is in the spiritual world.

It is easier to avoid being tempted by being in constant communion with God, than it is to overcome temptation once it has been conceived.

Paul admonishes the Philippian believers to reflect and meditate upon eight positive principles of thinking that will lead to a victorious Christian life (Phil. 4:8). These are things that are “true,” that is: honorable, truthful and upright. Things that are “honest,” that is: honorable, truthful, genuine, not characterized by deception or fraud. Things that are “just,” that is: in accordance with what is right, or right conduct; any circumstance, fact or deed that is right. Things that are “pure,” free from defilement or impurity.

Things that are “lovely,” pleasing, agreeable, inspiring love or affection. A “good report,” that is: a saying or report that is positive and constructive rather than negative and destructive. “Virtue,” which is moral excellence, righteousness and goodness. “Praise,” or what is praiseworthy; expressing one’s esteem of a person and his virtues. We need to focus on the good in every area of our lives. Recognizing God’s hand in even the smallest things will bring peace and keep our hearts and minds following hard after the Lord.

RIGHT BELIEVING PRODUCES RIGHT LIVING

These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. – 1 John 5:13

Everyone who came to Jesus for healing was healed. Yet, there were those who were right in His presence that didn’t get healed. Who were they?

They were the religious folk who focused on right living outwardly, but didn’t have right believing inwardly—they didn’t believe in Jesus. They had a form of self-righteousness and didn’t see their need for the Savior. I am talking about the Pharisees. There is no record of any one of them getting healed in the Gospels. The ones who got healed and received miracles of provision, restoration and transformation from Him were people who simply believed in Jesus and His goodness. They weren’t perfect in their behavior, but they had right believing.

My friend, right believing is at the root of right living. Right believing in the goodness and grace of our Lord Jesus is like an “on” switch that allows His power and grace to flow into your life and transform it. It gives you new desires and new strength. You will want to live right for the glory of Jesus.

So don’t not worry about right living. Instead, make sure that you are believing right by constantly feeding on the gospel of Jesus Christ. When you believe right, you will live right to the glory of God!
