Word is spreading around Christendom that Paul Crouch, the Missouri native who moved to Southern California with his wife Jan to create Trinity Broadcasting Network, the largest Christian television network in the world, has passed away at age 79. He had been hospitalized recently for heart problems.The news was announced by his grandson, Brandon Crouch, on Twitter.

Southern Californians knew Crouch and his big-haired wife for decades for their histrionics on Channel 40 (or was it 44? Or 46?) and their continued demand for viewers to give them money in what’s known as the prosperity gospel, the idea that God will give money to those who give money. And Orange Countians will forever know TBN for their garish headquarters just across South Coast Plaza (the one that had “Happy Birthday Jesus!” in lights 365 days a year forever), a marriage of God and Mammon no Hollywood screenwriter could ever imagine. It’s this garishness that made it easy for the public to dismiss Crouch’s influence, but he will go down in the history of Christianity as someone as crucial to spreading the Gospel worldwide as fellow OCer Charles E. Fuller–for Fuller, of course, it was radio, while Crouch found his success with TV.
Of course, like his fellow recently deceased OC Christianity titan Chuck Smith, Crouch was also an ass of a man.

While Crouch tried to pass himself off as a kindly old grandfather, his profligate spending over the decades while constantly exhorting viewers–overwhelmingly working-class–to give more and more money (we can’t emphasize this enough, just like him) was downright disgusting, and TBN’s defense of on-air personality Steve Galiher, who got a wrist slap for driving while drunk on his way to TBN headquarters (in the process crashing into a Vietnam War vet who never recovered from his injuries) was simply vile. And who can forget the scandal unearthed by former Los Angeles Times reporter William Lobdell that essentially outed Crouch as a closet homosexual, a scandal so buried in OC court records as to essentially be unethical?
Crouch spent the last years of his life fighting off a lawsuit from his granddaughters alleging that TBN had become an incestuous, corrupt den of thieves. It’s going to be one hell of a funeral, no?

Paul Crouch is a charismatic pastor and a member of the controversial “Word of Faith” movement, a movement better known for its “prosperity gospel” message. He is also alleged to be bi-sexual, a thief, and a false prophet
Crouch and his organization, the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), have been dogged by scandal and controversy for many years. During a televised appeal for funds in 1997, Crouch said that viewers who had not contributed money to the station were “robbing God and will lose your reward in heaven”. That same year, in response to charges by other Christian ministers that he was “spreading blasphemy”, Crouch went on the air and said, “God, we proclaim death to anything or anyone that will lift a hand against this network”. In 1991 he answered other evangelists’ criticisms of his organization by saying on the air, “Quit blocking God’s bridges or God’s going to shoot you – if I don’t.” When criticisms were leveled about the Crouches’ purchase of a $7.5-million mansion in the super-wealthy enclave of Newport Beach, CA, they claimed that the estate actually belonged to their organization, TBN. When documents surfaced showing that the estate actually belonged to them, they said that it was a reward from God for their good works in spreading “the word”. In 2004 the organization was rocked by accusations from a former church member who claimed that he and Paul Crouch had been having a sexual relationship for several years. The Crouches at first denied it, but it turned out that TBN had been paying off this man for several years and in fact had also paid him an out-of-court settlement of more than $425,000.
A lawsuit recently filed by the former head of finance for the Trinity Broadcasting Network claims that the directors of the widely-viewed Christian television network have illegally taken advantage of more than $50 million in “charitable assets” for their own good.
Brittany B. Koper, granddaughter to TBN founders Paul and Jan Crouch, previously served as the chief financial officer, director of finance, corporate treasurer and director of human resources for Trinity Christian Center of Santa Ana, which conducts business as TBN. Tymothy MacLeod, Koper’s attorney in the lawsuit, believes that what Koper has revealed explains a lot about the Crouch family’s spending habits.
“Observers have often wondered how the Crouches can afford multiple mansions on both coasts, a $50 million jet and chauffeurs,” MacLeod said, according to The Orange County Register. “And finally, with the CFO coming forward, we have answers to those questions.”

Your Supernatural Wealth Transfer Is Coming By Benny Hinn
The Word of God says, “Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause” (Psalm 35:27). That means, those who support the Gospel, here spoken of as His “righteous cause,” will shout for joy and be glad! We are seeing glorious victories on earth today as the Gospel is being preached to the nations of the world, and millions are coming into the kingdom.
That verse continues, “Yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.” It is God’s will that you prosper!
In fact, the Word of God explains that we are coming into a time when we will see a glorious transfer of wealth for the preaching of the Gospel, for the financing of the end-time harvest. The day will come when the wealth of the sinner will be given to the righteous: “A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just” (Proverbs 13:22).
There have already been six wealth transfers on earth and one is on the way:
1. Abraham. In Genesis 12:10, when famine struck the land, Abram went down to Egypt. While there, the Egyptians saw Sarai’s beauty and spoke of her to Pharaoh, who decided to take her for a wife. Believing that Sarai was Abram’s sister, Pharaoh entreated Abram and gave him sheep, oxen, servants, cattle, and much wealth (verse 16). After the Lord had plagued Pharaoh and he discovered that Sarai was actually Abram’s wife, he eventually gave her back. But Pharaoh never asked for the wealth back. The Bible even tells us, “Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south. And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold” (Genesis 13:1-2). It was the first recorded wealth transfer from the wicked to the righteous.
2. Isaac. Once again there was famine in the land, and Isaac went to Abimelech of the Philistines (Genesis 26:1). Then we see something amazing happen: “Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him” (verses 12-14). Here again we see a wealth transfer. Not only did Isaac inherit the wealth from his father, Abraham, but he also received a great wealth transfer from Abimelech—so much so that eventually the Philistine told Isaac, “Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we” (verse 16).
Notice that both Abraham’s and Isaac’s wealth transfers took place in times of famine. Your prosperity is not dependent upon the world’s conditions. It is dependent upon the Word of God!
3. Jacob. Another great wealth transfer took place when God gave Jacob the wealth of Laban. Jacob said, “Ye know that with all my power I have served your father. And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me. If he said thus, The speckled shall be thy wages; then all the cattle bare speckled: and if he said thus, The ringstraked shall be thy hire; then bare all the cattle ringstraked. Thus God hath taken away the cattle of your father, and given them to me” (Genesis 31:6-9).
4. Joseph. Joseph received the wealth of the superpower Egypt: “Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt” (Genesis 41:39-44). Imagine! God gave his servant Joseph the wealth of the entire nation. Pharaoh even gave Joseph control of all of Egypt’s business and economy.
5. Israel. God promised Moses that when the Israelites came out of Egypt, they would leave with the wealth of the Egyptians: “I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand. And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go. And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty: But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians” (Exodus 3:19-22). Can you imagine what happened that night after God had slain all the firstborn males throughout Egypt? Think of what it was like when the Israelites went to the Egyptians, who had just lost sons and been ruined by all the plagues. Yet these same Egyptians gave them their wealth. That was truly a miracle of transfer!
6. King Solomon. In the sixth biblical wealth transfer, God Almighty not only gave Solomon the wealth of one nation, but the wealth of the nations of the world: “King Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom” (1 Kings 10:23). Think about it! He was the richest man on the planet because of God’s great power and favor!
7. You. Next in line for a great wealth transfer is you! “The wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just” (Proverbs 13:22). Here is why—the Lord wants to give you the wealth of the sinner to establish His covenant: “Thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day” (Deuteronomy 8:18). His covenant is the Gospel of Jesus Christ, His Son, for the nations! God will give you the wealth of the sinner so you can support the preaching of the Gospel to the world!
The Lord said, “Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay; He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver” (Job 27:16-17).
This wealth transfer is just around the corner! Get ready!

Catherine wrote on March 7, 2011 and stated I watched a little TBN yesterday to see if these preachers are still as bold as ever and I couldn’t believe it…First there was Benny Hinn actually asking for his $600,000 attorney’s fees. He was trying to come off as an “Oh, shucks” victim of his divorce… he’s “being attacked”…. but he “prayed and prayed about it”… but what he DIDN’T do was simply get rid of the lawyers and do what a real Christian would do.. settle it on the courthouse steps, turn the other cheek, perhaps… He actually asked his sheep to pay his legal fees! Now… why don’t I have $600,000 legal fees? How does a person accrue $600,000 in legal fees? Why would he ask his sheep to feed the world’s system for his own personal benefit? And why would people want to pay his legal fees??? That’s GOT to be illegal! To ask for your legal fees in a church? There is SO much wrong with that that I won’t go on…
And then the next show was Mark Chirona… ahhh… Bishop, Prophet, Doctor, Apostle, Master AND Life Coach….Mark Chirona, I went to see him once and he truly believes he’s a Vegas Act…with the outfits and singing to the captive audiences. But anyway, I only caught the part where he actually said, “By the time I say “3″, I want you to call in with your donation. One…. Two….THREE!!! ” How’s THAT for a tactic? He is now Benny Hinn’s new chair warmer on his TV show. Others don’t come back, but there’s Mark, probably getting 20% of the proceeds for sitting in Benny’s chair.
The word of God says: now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lust which drowns men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows{ 1 Timothy 6:6-10 }
Benny Hinn’s prosperity gospel keeps the minds of the people on the material and not the spiritual, and is leading many away from the truth, therefore causing many to focus on the things of the world and not the things of God! The dumb sheep should not be fooled by these false teachers my brethren, who by covetousness will exploit you with deceptive words { 2 peter 2:3 } this message applies to many pastors, tv ministers, evangelist, and preachers who are fleecing the flock.
