THE BIBLE TELLS US THAT PROPER ACTION IS REQUIRED FROM GOD’S MEN AND WOMEN WHEN THERE IS EVIL? FENCE SITTING IS NOT ALLOWED!

Esther 4:1    When Mordecai learned all that had happened, he tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and ashes, and went out into the midst of the city. He cried out with a loud and bitter cry.
2    He went as far as the front of the king’s gate, for no one might enter the king’s gate clothed with sackcloth.
3    And in every province where the king’s command and decree arrived, there was great mourning among the Jews, with fasting, weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes.
4    So Esther’s maids and eunuchs came and told her, and the queen was deeply distressed. Then she sent garments to clothe Mordecai and take his sackcloth away from him, but he would not accept them.
5    Then Esther called Hathach, one of the king’s eunuchs whom he had appointed to attend her, and she gave him a command concerning Mordecai, to learn what and why this was.
6    So Hathach went out to Mordecai in the city square that was in front of the king’s gate.
7    And Mordecai told him all that had happened to him, and the sum of money that Haman had promised to pay into the king’s treasuries to destroy the Jews.
8    He also gave him a copy of the written decree for their destruction, which was given at Shushan, that he might show it to Esther and explain it to her, and that he might command her to go in to the king to make supplication to him and plead before him for her people.
9    So Hathach returned and told Esther the words of Mordecai.
10    Then Esther spoke to Hathach, and gave him a command for Mordecai:
11    “All the king’s servants and the people of the king’s provinces know that any man or woman who goes into the inner court to the king, who has not been called, he has but one law: put all to death, except the one to whom the king holds out the golden scepter, that he may live. Yet I myself have not been called to go in to the king these thirty days.”
12    So they told Mordecai Esther’s words.
13    And Mordecai told them to answer Esther: “Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews.
14    For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
15    Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai:
16    “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!”
17    So Mordecai went his way and did according to all that Esther commanded him.

For the record, the book of Esther is not an evangelical story. There are many interesting things about the book of Esther which preachers never talk about including Greg Laurie. First of all it’s all about politics resulting from Mordecai not bowing down before Haman. Second God is not mentioned once. Third Esther was a reluctant participant in the process! Finally Esther and Mordecai ensure that Haman is destroyed and Mordecai gets Haman’s wealth and power!

In reality the real hero of the book of Esther is not Esther but Mordecai of whom the bible states:

Esther 10: 1 And King Ahasuerus imposed tribute on the land and on the islands of the sea. 2 Now all the acts of his power and his might, and the account of the greatness of Mordecai, to which the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia? 3 For Mordecai the Jew was second to King Ahasuerus, and was great among the Jews and well received by the multitude of his brethren, seeking the good of his people and speaking peace to all his countrymen.

In reality the book of Esther is an encouragement for Christians to get involved in politics and destroy their enemies including incompetent President Obama and his Demoncrats who want to take away their God given rights!

Greg Laurie: There Are No Coincidences, Only Providence

Pastor Greg Laurie of Southern California’s Harvest Church encouraged believers to use their influence, gifts, and talents for God’s glory, explaining from the story of Esther that there are no coincidences, but only providence in Christians’ lives.

The title of Laurie’s sermon on Sunday was, “For Such a Time as This,” the first in a series on the book of Esther.

Many of us like fairy tales, which typically end with the phrase “and they lived happily ever after,” Laurie told the congregation in his Riverside church and an online audience. But the truth is that life is not a fairy tale, he added. “Life is full of pain and unexpected twists and turns,” he said, adding, however, that the bigger picture is that we will live happily ever after but only when we get to heaven.

“In this story, there are no fairies, no witches, no princes, and no mermaids,” he said. However, there is a beautiful orphan girl named Esther who wins a beauty contest and becomes a queen. There is also an evil man who plots the destruction of her people. But because of her bravery, she saves her nation, and they really do live happily ever after, Laurie explained.

He noted that it’s a story where God is not specifically mentioned or prayed to in an overt way. “And yet God is clearly all over this book from beginning to end.” As Christians, we do not believe in coincidence, but in providence, he stated.

The story of Esther begins with Xerxes, the king of Persia, the pastor said. He ruled over a vast Persian empire that ranged from India to Ethiopia. He was raised as a royal, the son of Darius and the grandson of Cyrus.

History depicts Xerxes as a towering figure, a large man who stood taller than his contemporaries, Laurie added. He was also intolerant and insensitive, and he was lacking in people skills.

Xerxes decides to throw a great feast for all his kingdom, Laurie said, as he narrated the incident. Everyone is invited to the palace to eat the finest food and to drink as much as they wanted. During the feast, the king decides to bring in his beautiful queen, Vashti, to parade before his lords and subjects. But to his surprise, she refuses because she didn’t want to be treated as a mere object, a possession.

“The king’s buddies tell him he cannot allow Vashti to get away with this, because the other women in the kingdom would also never obey their husbands,” the pastor added. “They convinced him to fire Vashti. So the king needed a new queen, and what better way to do that than having a beauty contest. The most beautiful woman in Persia would become the next queen.”
This was significant because God wanted His person, Esther, to get into the palace, Laurie said.

So they had a contest for a new bride for Xerxes, the pastor continued. Many girls dream of becoming queen, Laurie mentioned. According to Jewish historian Josephus, about 400 women participated in the beauty contest. They found the most attractive virgins, who then underwent an extensive makeover.

This is when Hadassah, also known as Esther, came into the scene. She was quickly identified because of her beauty. But she was beautiful also on the inside; she had inner character; and later we see she was also brave, Laurie said.

God has given different gifts to different people, he added. “We need to cultivate our talents and use them for the glory of God… Do you know what your gifts are?”

Laurie read from Esther 2:10, “Esther had not told anyone of her nationality and family background, because Mordecai had directed her not to do so.” There is time to speak and there’s time to be silent, he explained.

“So Esther did become the queen. And if this were a fairy tale, the story would have ended with, ‘And they lived happily ever after.’ But this is not a fairy tale,” Laurie said.

Every good story has to have a protagonist and a villain, he added. “In Esther’s story, it was Haman, who would manipulate to get whatever he wanted. He hatched a plot to exterminate the Jewish race, and told the king about it. Xerxes signed a decree to that effect, without realizing that he had signed a death sentence for his own queen as well.”

Esther won the contest for a reason, Laurie explained. “But she was not prepared to use her influence to save the Jews, as she feared being put to death if she went into the king’s presence without being summoned. Then Mordecai told Esther what she needed to know. ‘If you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?’ as given in Esther 4:14.”

Esther finally put her beauty and feminine influence to deliver God’s people from death, risking her own life, Laurie said.

Like Esther, who was in the right place at the right time, God prepares all believers to use them, he added. Christians should be aware of what is happening around them, and should not isolate themselves, he said. They should infiltrate and permeate, and use their influence to glorify God.

DELIVERANCE WILL COME

GOD HAS APPOINTED IN THE CHURCH

1 Corinthians 12:28 And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.

Today, the real prophets are not found on TV & Radio. They are found in local churches where the Holy Spirit is allowed to guide the church. They are the people who have the Gift of the Holy Spirit called the “Gift of Prophecy” (Rom. 12: 6; 1 Cor. 12: 10). They are given the Gift of Prophecy which is to be used in the local fellowship so the Holy Spirit can tell us what is going to happen in the future, either for individuals, families or the church fellowship. Every church is supposed to have all of the 15 Gifts of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 12: 6 – 8; 1 Cor. 12: 8 – 10) functioning. In the OT, the whole of Israel was viewed by God as ONE CONGREGATION and the OT Prophets spoke to the whole of Israel.

That is the reason why the Jews had only ONE TEMPLE which was located in Jerusalem where the only acceptable animal sacrifices were acceptable for the forgiveness of sin. Since Jesus came and is the “sacrifical” “Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (Jn. 1: 29) forgiveness of sin can be received anyplace in the world.

The 5-Fold Ministry is to operate in all of the Churches in cooperation with each other. So, the real Prophets are to be found using their Gift of Prophecy in local church fellowships and when proven to be accurate may be loaned out to other churches where they have no one with the Gift of Prophecy but who also need to pray for the Gift of Prophecy to be received by people in their church fellowships. So, the prophets today are not usually recognized on Radio and TV ministries. And, every prophecy must be checked out in order to make certain that what they prophesy is not false and must follow Peter’s advice: “First of all you must understand this, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, because no prophecy of Scripture ever came by the impulse of man, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Pet. 1: 20 – 21). The office of prophecy is to be found in the local churches by means of the “Gift of Prophecy” so the church can be told where the Holy Spirit is guiding it, the problems they will encounter and the solutions.

The rule of course is what Paul wrote about to the Corinthian Church which applies to all ministry of the churches: “I have applied all this to myself and Apollos for your benefit, brethren, that you may learn by us not to go beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up in favour of one against another” (1 Cor. 4: 6). Everything must be confirmed by Scripture.

As you know, the people who call themselves or appoint themselves as prophets publicly, most of what is said is unscriptural and therefore false. Both of us have found this to be untrue because they are trying to be unaccountable to church fellowships and place themselves above and beyond the Scriptures making themselves to be “super apostles who are beyond question”. Nobody is beyond question.

How can America every be great again if it has stupid so called men of God? It cannot! It’s so called Christian leaders are crap! The sheep are the most important thing in life not the shepherd. A true shepherd gives his life for the sheep just like Jesus did!

The problem is that these people are “not men of God” and they do “not have apostolic ministries” because they do not do the work of “apostles”. They are well described by Paul: “And what I do I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do. For such men are false apostles, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light” (2 Cor. 11: 12 – 14). So, like Paul we must continue to expose them.

FOR SALVATION, GRACE AND FAITH ARE REQUIRED

I’ve heard it said that grace is the power to do God’s will and it is the force that sustains us on the inside while things are being accomplished on the outside. While we’re reaching out in faith, we need a substance on the inside to sustain us while we wait for the outward things to come to pass. That substance, that divine force, is grace. We need to have the grace of God upholding us, energizing and moving in our lives. We must rely on grace, but we cannot back off from our faith and become lazy. Faith must be maintained, nurtured, and strengthened by continuing in the Word daily.

It has always bothered me when people imply that faith is a movement. They ask, “Were you involved in the faith movement?” But faith is not a movement. Faith is something we must have all the time. To say faith is a movement is like saying the Church went through a salvation movement. The Church didn’t go through a salvation movement. Salvation is one of the fundamental truths of the Church. It’s not a movement. It’s something that is to be taught all the time. Salvation is something we cannot live without. We can’t enter heaven without salvation. Salvation is required in order to live our everlasting life in the Kingdom and presence of God. And in order to receive salvation, grace and faith are required (Ephesians 2:8). So if we are saved by grace through faith, don’t you think faith and grace are vitally important? Salvation, faith, and grace are never movements – they are foundational truths

On December 22, 2010 Benny Hinn told us “Receive the Coming Supernatural Wealth Transfer”
The Word of God tells us clearly that the Lord told Abraham that his seed, Israel, would be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, that they would live in slavery, and yet 400 years later they would come out of slavery “with great substance” (Genesis 15:13-14).

The Lord promised that when His people Israel would leave Egypt, they would leave with the wealth of the Egyptians, with great substance! And that is exactly what happened! When Moses brought the children of Israel out of Egypt, the Word of God tells us that they “spoiled” the Egyptians (Exodus 12:36).

But notice that the wealth of the Egyptians was given to the Israelites just before they left Egypt. The wealth of the Egyptians was not given to them while they lived in slavery. It was given to them right before they left! Let me add something extremely important: The wealth of the Egyptians was given to Israel after the blood was applied, not before! They were a saved people, a delivered people, when they received the wealth of the Egyptians!

The Word of God says that what happened to Israel is a shadow, and we, the New Testament church, are the substance of that shadow.

What happened to them was our example, and what happened to them will surely soon happen to us; for just before we leave this world, right before the rapture of the church, God will give us the wealth of this world.

But Benny Hinn is a parasitical prosperity pimping preacher! He is a liar and a false prophet who loves to say “The LORD told me…” And for all his lies about “Why would the Lord be telling me to write to you about an unprecedented release of the anointing for the next 12 months?” HOW COME THE LORD DIDN’T TELL BENNY HINN THAT SUZANNE HINN WAS GOING TO DIVORCE HIM? MIND YOU SUZANNE HINN DID GET A WEALTH TRANSFER 50 % OF BENNY’S WEALTH AND SADDLED HIM WITH A $ 600,000 ATTORNEY FEES

Catherine wrote on March 7, 2011 and stated I watched a little TBN yesterday to see if these preachers are still as bold as ever and I couldn’t believe it…First there was Benny Hinn actually asking for his $600,000 attorney’s fees. He was trying to come off as an “Oh, shucks” victim of his divorce… he’s “being attacked”…. but he “prayed and prayed about it”… but what he DIDN’T do was simply get rid of the lawyers and do what a real Christian would do.. settle it on the courthouse steps, turn the other cheek, perhaps… He actually asked his sheep to pay his legal fees! Now… why don’t I have $600,000 legal fees? How does a person accrue $600,000 in legal fees? Why would he ask his sheep to feed the world’s system for his own personal benefit? And why would people want to pay his legal fees??? That’s GOT to be illegal! To ask for your legal fees in a church? There is SO much wrong with that that I won’t go on…

And then the next show was Mark Chirona… ahhh… Bishop, Prophet, Doctor, Apostle, Master AND Life Coach….Mark Chirona, I went to see him once and he truly believes he’s a Vegas Act…with the outfits and singing to the captive audiences. But anyway, I only caught the part where he actually said, “By the time I say “3”, I want you to call in with your donation. One…. Two….THREE!!! ” How’s THAT for a tactic? He is now Benny Hinn’s new chair warmer on his TV show. Others don’t come back, but there’s Mark, probably getting 20% of the proceeds for sitting in Benny’s chair.

And Pat Francis who resides in Toronto Canada, a graduate of the University of the West Indies in the medical field of Radiography and claims to have a Doctorate degree and God’s inner ear is President of Pat Francis Ministries Inc. which was established in January 1999 and is formally registered in Canada, is not only a nut and a liar, but also an advocate of God’s wealth transfer. They have set up their idols before God. That angers God! God will not give power to their idols. Their sacrifices to their idols prevents god from blessing them.

GOD CAN DO IT AGAIN

Say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you.” —Isa 35:4, NLT

Haman, the villain in the story of Esther, hated the Jews and sought to exterminate them. He succeeded in getting a decree issued to annihilate all the Jews in one day.

But God used Queen Esther and Mordecai, both Jews, to turn the tables on Haman and save their people.

Haman was hanged, while a counter-decree was given that allowed the Jews to defend themselves and destroy their enemies in one day. And so, God turned what had begun as an evil day for the Jews into many good days. He turned their mourning into rejoicing and gave them victory over their enemies.

God can do the same for you today. He can turn the tables on your enemies and turn your sadness into joy! Simply rest in Jesus’ finished work at the cross, which has set you above every evil assault the devil attempts to throw at you, and watch your evil day turn into days of rejoicing

There is no problem that Jesus cannot solve and no sickness that Jesus cannot heal but it doesn’t matter how much you sing and dance and praise the Lord, if you are in rebellion or have not dealt with unconfessed sin in your life, God will not move on your behalf!

STOP COMPLAINING AND DO SOMETHING!

MATTHEW 7:7    “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
8    For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
9    Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
10    Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11    If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

LUKE 18:1    Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,
2    saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man.
3    Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’
4    And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man,
5    yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ ”
6    Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said.
7    And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?
8    I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

It’s a fact of life that many people are waiting for God or other people to do something about whatever bothers them when in fact, god is waiting for them to do something including about any injustices or inequalities in life be it social, physical, financial or spiritual.

It is also a fact that Jesus said that all power and authority is given to him in heaven and earth, that God plus one is a majority and He has promised victory over any and every enemy including sickness, idiots and demons! And my favorite story is that of a nobody named Mordecai who brought down a wicked evil prime minister named Haman! When we are discouraged or in doubt the book of Esther is a great book to read to build our faith in God and what He can do through one person!

Yes God wants His people to dream big dreams and He will fulfill those dreams for He is God, not man! He who has already given them His best, His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, and His wonderful Counselor, the Holy Spirit, desires to give them the rest and do exceedingly abundantly above all that they ask or think, according to the power that works in them, the same power that created heaven and earth and raised Jesus Christ from the dead. His word is unchanging:

“And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Matthew 10:7-8

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:31-32

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-32

Faith is not just something you have on Sunday but faith is something you use every day to get results. Faith is the substance of things not seen but faith is also an action word.

1 Samuel 30:8 So David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”

All the great people of faith in Hebrews 11 did something about their negative circumstances. David pursued his enemies and overtook them. Joshua marched around the walls of Jericho until they fell down. The bible says of them

11:33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

Because God is a great and wonderful miracle working God there is nothing that He cannot or will not do for those who believe. Nothing is too big or too small for Him to look after and nothing is impossible with God. And we see this in the life of Mordecai. The bible records:

On that day King Ahasuerus gave Queen Esther the house of Haman, the enemy of the Jews. And Mordecai came before the king, for Esther had told how he was related to her. So the king took off his signet ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it to Mordecai; and Esther appointed Mordecai over the house of Haman. Now Esther spoke again to the king, fell down at his feet, and implored him with tears to counteract the evil of Haman the Agagite, and the scheme which he had devised against the Jews. And the king held out the golden scepter toward Esther. So Esther arose and stood before the king, and said, “If it pleases the king, and if I have found favor in his sight and the thing seems right to the king and I am pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to revoke the letters devised by Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to annihilate the Jews who are in all the king’s provinces. “For how can I endure to see the evil that will come to my people? Or how can I endure to see the destruction of my countrymen?” Then King Ahasuerus said to Queen Esther and Mordecai the Jew, “Indeed, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and they have hanged him on the gallows because he tried to lay his hand on the Jews. “You yourselves write a decree concerning the Jews, as you please, in the king’s name, and seal it with the king’s signet ring; for whatever is written in the king’s name and sealed with the king’s signet ring no one can revoke.” So the king’s scribes were called at that time, in the third month, which is the month of Sivan, on the twenty-third day; and it was written, according to all that Mordecai commanded, to the Jews, the satraps, the governors, and the princes of the provinces from India to Ethiopia, one hundred and twenty-seven provinces in all, to every province in its own script, to every people in their own language, and to the Jews in their own script and language. And he wrote in the name of King Ahasuerus, sealed it with the king’s signet ring, and sent letters by couriers on horseback, riding on royal horses bred from swift steeds. By these letters the king permitted the Jews who were in every city to gather together and protect their lives-to destroy, kill, and annihilate all the forces of any people or province that would assault them, both little children and women, and to plunder their possessions, on one day in all the provinces of King Ahasuerus, on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar. Esther 8:1-12

King Ahasuerus gave Queen Esther the house of Haman, the enemy of the Jews, and had hanged him on the gallows because he tried to lay his hand on the Jews. And Esther appointed Mordecai over the house of Haman. King Ahasuerus also told Queen Esther and Mordecai, the Jew, to themselves write a decree concerning the Jews, as it pleased them in the king’s name, and seal it with the king’s signet ring. And Esther and Mordecai did just that. The decree in the king’s name permitted the Jews who were in every city to gather together and protect their lives-to destroy, kill, and annihilate all the forces of any people or province that would assault them, both little children and women, and to plunder their possessions. Later Esther also requested and received a decree Haman’s ten sons be hanged on the gallows (Esther 9:13-14).

Yes decrees are very important in the life of Kings and those in authorities. The bible also tells us:

“Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, Who write misfortune, Which they have prescribed. To rob the needy of justice, And to take what is right from the poor of My people, That widows may be their prey, And that they may rob the fatherless. What will you do in the day of punishment, And in the desolation which will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your glory? Isaiah 10:1-3

Now Jesus Christ also defeated our prime enemy Satan, and has given us, His brothers and sisters, all his spoils and wealth as well as the riches of heaven. He has also given us the right to make any decree that we desire in His name. God’s word is true and unchangeable:

“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; “they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mark 16:17-18

“And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 14:13-14

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. John 15:16

The Holy Spirit whom the Father sent in Jesus name, not only teaches us all things, and brings to our remembrance all things that Jesus taught but He also helps us make proper decree that affect and change our world, society and life by removing people or mountains or kingdoms in our lives. God’s word is unchanging:

Then the LORD put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the LORD said to me: “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant.” Jeremiah 1:9-10

“And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19

“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Mark 11:23

Yes, God has given His true anointed ones, the power of decree and proclamation to use to their advantage and that of the Kingdom. Under the new covenant Jesus gave us His blood, He gave us His name and He gave us His Word. He gave us the authority to rebuke the devil ourselves. Under the old covenant, you would do what you were supposed to do and God rebuked the devourer. Under the new covenant we are not to wait for God to rebuke the devourer. God is waiting for us to act on the authority He has given as a result of the blood. God has given you the name of Jesus and the power and authority to do it yourself. When the devil gets in your face, you say, “I rebuke you devil in the name of Jesus.”

Jesus said, “You say to that mountain ‘be removed and be cast into the sea.’” Many times in the Bible the word “mountain” means kingdom. Under the old covenant you did what you were supposed to do, and then you waited for God to move the mountain (kingdom). Under the new covenant Jesus said, “Say to the mountain ‘be removed and cast into the sea’ and believe in your heart that those things you say will come to pass and you will have whatever you say.” To me it’s a greater covenant and a greater promise, but with every greater promise comes greater responsibility. Under the old covenant you do what you are supposed to do and just wait for God. Under the new covenant you do what you are supposed to do, take authority yourself, and stand in faith without wavering. [i]
