The Power Belongs to God

The devil uses any inroads he can find to infiltrate our life, but in the spiritual battle against him, we are the ones with the authority. There is no reason to fear him. Fear is the exact opposite of faith, and we must remember that just as fear brings to pass evil things, faith brings to pass the good things God has planned for us. Faith apprehends those things made available to us through the blood of Jesus. We are the establishing witness who can choose what will be manifested in our life.

Tapping into God’s strength and peace gives us access to His power.

We must be strong in God and in the power of His might. We do that by putting on all of His armor (Ephesians 6:10-12).

We cannot trust in our own strength. The power belongs to God, and we make use of it.

God has supplied us with all the power we need, but we must flip the switch ourselves. This is called using our spiritual authority.

Spending time in the Word is the act of donning our spiritual armor.

Everything bad that happens to us is a result of a spiritual influence.

God’s thoughts and plans for us are of peace and not evil, to give us a bright future (Jeremiah 29:11, AMPC).

He has plans for good, to give us hope in our final outcome.

God wants to give us peace (Romans 15:33).

The God of peace will bruise the devil under our feet, and Jesus will bring us grace (Romans 16:20).

God created us in His image (Genesis 1:27).

Because He is the God of peace, His will is for us to be at peace.

The fruits of the Spirit and the fruits of the flesh are at opposite ends of the spectrum.

Peace is one of the fruits of the Spirit. Other fruits include love, joy, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, and faith (Galatians 5:22).

Avoid rioting, drunkenness, strife, and envy. Make no provision for the flesh, but put on Jesus Christ (Romans 13:13, 14).

We should not let the enemy rob us of the fruit of the Spirit by replacing it with the fruit of the flesh.

The works of the flesh include adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, inconsistency, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, and heresies (Galatians 5:19, 20).

Strife is a work of the flesh.

Do nothing through strife. Our mindset should esteem others, putting them before us (Philippians 2:3).

Envy and strife usher in confusion and every evil work (James 3:16).

We are people of peace, and we have dominion over strife.

What we contemplate and meditate on is eventually confessed verbally, for good or bad.

We must set nothing wicked before our eyes, and we must despise the work of those who turn aside from the Word of God (Psalm 101:3).

Setting wicked things before our eyes can include meditating on evil things and speaking evil to others.

In the Old Testament, those who walked in faith testified that they were seeking a better country. If they had known what country they had left, they might have had the chance to return (Hebrews 11:14, 15).

We cannot be tempted by anything we do not think about. What we consider the most is the thing we will be tempted to do.

Do not give in to the devil (Ephesians 4:27).

When we give in to negative emotions, we give in to him.

Do not embrace anxious thoughts (Matthew 6:31).

Those thoughts will come, but we do not have to reach out and embrace them by speaking them.

Spiritually, our stomach will be filled by the fruit of our speech. Life and death are in the power of the tongue, which can bring about either (Proverbs 18:20, 21).

  Activate the Power

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. – Ephesians 3:20

As a believer, you have the power of the Holy Spirit inside you. But that power won’t go to work until you put it to work!

The Holy Spirit won’t just muscle in on you. He won’t come in and turn down the television set and jerk you up off the couch and say, “Now you listen to Me.”

No, He’s a gentleman. He’s sent to help you to do the will of God, to strengthen you, to counsel you…but He won’t do a thing until He’s asked.

That’s why the book of James says if you’re in trouble or afflicted, pray. It’s prayer that puts the power within you to work.

Just think about that. The Spirit of Almighty God. The Spirit that hovered over the face of the deep and carried out God’s Word at Creation, that same Spirit is inside you—waiting for you to call on Him!

If Jesus came into your house and sat down at your table, you’d put aside everything to talk to Him, wouldn’t you? You wouldn’t just rush through and say, “Jesus, I’m so glad to see You. I wish I had the energy to talk to You, but You wouldn’t believe what kind of a day I had today. I mean, everything in the world went wrong and now I’m just too tired to do anything but lay here and watch TV. Maybe we can spend some time together later.”

You wouldn’t do that, would you? No! If Jesus were sitting there in your room where you could see Him, you’d fall on your face and begin to worship Him. You wouldn’t care how tired you were or what kind of day you had. You’d jump at the opportunity to fellowship with Him.

The Holy Ghost is in you. He’s waiting on you. He’s ready any time of the day or night. He’s saying, “I’m here to help you and strengthen you. I want to comfort you today. You know that problem you’ve been having? I want to help you get that out of your life.

The Holy Spirit has some things He wants to show you—things you’ve been trying to figure out on your own. He’s waiting there with the power to overcome every obstacle in your life. Take time to pray. Pray in the spirit. Pray with understanding. Pray and activate the power that works within you today.

POWER

AAYou Shall Receive Power

Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth!  Sing out the honor of His name;  Make His praise glorious.  Say to God, “How awesome are Your works!  Through the greatness of Your power Your enemies shall submit themselves to You. .” Psalm 66:1-3

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8

As Christians and believers we were created to be vessels of power. The God of all power, resources and unlimited might and riches lives in us and we are to demonstrate it and cause all our enemies to submit to this power.  God’s word is unchanging:

And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. Acts 4:33

And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people. Acts 6:8

And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. 1 Corinthians 2:4-5

For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power. 1 Corinthians 4:20

There is no excuse if we don’t have power we are to repent and pray to God until we get power. And not just some power but great power just like the Apostles had. Christianity is a religion of power  and without power it is nothing! No matter how religious we  are, Pharaoh won’t let us go without a demonstration of God’s power. Our grammar, our education or our money makes no difference. It is impossible to triumph without power! The word triumph here simply means a walkover, where our opponent becomes afraid to even enter the ring with us. We become too much for the enemy. This takes power! And God has this kind of power and He will give it to us just for the asking.

Every enemy of ours is to suffer devastation before our presence! Jesus Christ was never defeated or dismayed by any power or anybody or anything. As a son of man and son of God He demonstrated power over everything. And so should we! The power that made heaven and earth and raised Jesus Christ is in us and as we yield to and release that power God will do great and wonderful things. His word is unchanging:

and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power Ephesians 1:19

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, Ephesians 3:20

We are to come out of religion and step into power and authority! It’s time to walk into our liberty! It’s time to get into our Canaan, into our land flowing with milk and honey. It’s time to be set free every form of captivity, through the instrumentality of power. When God’s power is in place, we’re in charge. When His power is at work in us, we keep reigning! We were created to be a creature of power and to demonstrate it.  The kingdom of God is not a kingdom of theology, it’s a kingdom of power! (1 Cor. 4:20).

Enemies don’t submit through the greatness of tears! Our liberty is a function of the degree of God’s  power at work in our life. Darkness has no respect for position, status or possessions. Our enemies will not submit because of anything in the natural realm but because the greatness of God’s  power is manifesting through our life. God’s power is mighty! God’s power is superior to every other power!

Why should we live without power when w e are in the day of God’s power! It is time to say to failure, “Go!” and it goes; to say to abundance, “Come!”, and it comes. It takes power to do this. Power that we can have just for the asking. We need to ask the Lord to show us His right hand. His hand and arm will provoke favor on our behalf and bring us into our liberty. Power is released when we talk to God from our heart. God’s word is true:

We have heard with our ears, O God, Our fathers have told us,  The deeds You did in their days, In days of old: You drove out the nations with Your hand, But them You planted;  You afflicted the peoples, and cast them out.  For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword,  Nor did their own arm save them;  But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance,  Because You favored them.  You are my King, O God; Command victories for Jacob. Through You we will push down our enemies;  Through Your name we will trample those who rise up against us. Psalm 44:1-5

“Behold, I give unto you power…” Luke 10:19

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power…” John 1:12

We enter into God’s kingdom with a power gift package. Until we receive Jesus as the Son of God, we don’t have access to the power of God. We are a child of power. Power is the foundation of our new life in Christ Jesus. The new birth is an initiation into the realm of power. Just as people are initiated into a cult, the new birth initiates us into another world—the world of power. The day we receive Jesus, we become initiated into the realm of covenant power. It is the day natural life gives way to eternal life. Everything about us becomes new! Our citizenship changes—we are no more earthly, but now heavenly. We are guarded and surrounded by heavenly immunities, as we walk in earthly places. Christ is the wisdom and power of God (1 Corinthian 1:24).

When Christ dwells in us, then the power of God is resident on our inside. Once we are saved, we become a power-loaded personality! Salvation brings you from the realm of weakness into the realm of power. God’s word is true:

“And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:6

We must operate from the heavenly places where we are seated. Satan is not permitted to prevail in this realm. So, by destiny, all heavenly citizens are more than conquerors!  Dwelling anywhere in the earthly places is dangerous.  We were not created to seek after fortune, fame or wealth of the world but to have and demonstrate the power of God. We need the power of God today. It is the answer to all the harassments of the devil (Luke 10:19).

It is time for a heart-connection with heaven for a release of power. The time has come for God to hear our voice.  We are to ask the Lord to cause us to see the reality of His power as recorded in His Word. And to tell Him we want to experience this power in our everyday life and we want more of the anointing. But the anointing of the Holy Spirit cannot come our way without prayer. The rains of the Spirit will only respond to effectual fervent prayer. This is the only switch that will turn the rain on—the kind of prayer that comes from the heart, not the head.  A thirst that is genuine, established and acknowledged by the Lord, will open you up for the rain. God’s word is true:

“Ask of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain…” Zechariah 10:1

“And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.” Acts 4:31

We don’t get power by wishing, we get it by praying. Not modern day prayer, but divinely approved ones. The kind we stay on at until the answer comes. No one picks power by the roadside. Every one that operates in the realm of power today went all-out for it. God’s word is unchanging:

“He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” Psalm 107:20

“If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Mark 9:23

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7

We can do all things through Christ because He strengthens us to do the impossible. God’s Word is His Spirit in written form, and when it is absorbed into your spirit, you encounter power. There is enough power in the Word to heal, to bless, to prosper, to save, to deliver and to do whatever we need. We are to continue to believe God’s Word and continue to confess His promise in the face of what we see and what we feel.  As believers it is disastrous to react on what we see, hear or feel. Instead of reacting to the senses produced by the world, we must act according to the Word spoken by God. His Word brings deliverance and the words of the world bring destruction. When we  feel like giving up, we must quit going by what we feel. We must stand in faith and keep standing until the victory is manifested. God’s word is unchanging:

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:10-13

POWER

AB
 Christ The Power Of God

For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom;  but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness,  but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 1 Corinthians 1:22-24

Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ  and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;  that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. 1 Corinthians 3:8-11

Christianity is a religion of the power of God through Christ Jesus and not of dead anemic impotent words preached by most Christian preachers. Jesus Christ, Who is the same yesterday, today and forever, demonstrated power over storms, demons, sickness, disease and money changers and so should each child of God because the same Christ lives in them! Jesus Christ didn’t promise His disciples words or even the bible, as wonderful as it is but power. God’s word is true:

And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease. Matthew 10:1

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.  “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 14:12-114

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8

And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,  that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.  1 Corinthians 2:1-5

If we neglect the Holy Spirit or regulate Him to some small corner of our life we will never have power! No! We need to be not only taught by the Holy Spirit but also led by Him! We need to live and walk in the wisdom and discernment that He provides!  We need to be filled with the Holy Spirit and be full of faith, wisdom and power and to demonstrate power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons! For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power (1 Corinthians 4:20)! And we need to be emptied of ourselves and be full of God and preach not ourselves but Christ Jesus the Lord. God’s word is unchanging:

For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.   But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.  We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;  persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed-  always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.  So then death is working in us, but life in you.  And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak,  knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you. 2 Corinthians 4:5-14

But in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses,  in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in fastings;  by purity, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by sincere love, by the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,  by honor and dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true;  as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as chastened, and yet not killed;  as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. 2 Corinthians 6:4-10

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Ephesians 6:10

And yes we must not only demonstrate the power of God by the Holy Spirit, but  purity,  knowledge, longsuffering, kindness, sincere love, the word of truth, and patience! We must be strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy, giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, (Colossians 1:11-13)! And we are complete in Christ, who is the head of all principality and power and in Whom dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; (Colossians 2:9-10). He has disarmed principalities and powers, making a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it and is there to help us overcome and conquer all things!  He is with us to fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power as we tap into His power especially by praying in the Spirit and standing on His word. God’s word is unchanging:

Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours:  whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come-all are yours. 1 Corinthians 3:21-22

But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:14-17

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.  1John 4:4

It’s never too late to repent of lack of power and to ask for power just like Samson did! God’s word is true:

Again the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the Philistines for forty years.   Now there was a certain man from Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren and had no children.  And the Angel of the LORD appeared to the woman and said to her, “Indeed now, you are barren and have borne no children, but you shall conceive and bear a son.  “Now therefore, please be careful not to drink wine or similar drink, and not to eat anything unclean.  “For behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. And no razor shall come upon his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb; and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.” Judges 13:1-5

An angel of the LORD came to a barren woman and told her that she would conceive and bear a son!  So the woman bore a son and called his name Samson; and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him.  And the Spirit of the LORD began to move upon him. One day a young lion came roaring against him.  And the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and he tore the lion apart as one would have torn apart a young goat, though he had nothing in his hand. Another time  the Spirit of the LORD came upon him mightily, and he went down to Ashkelon and killed thirty of their men. Another time  the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him  and Samson found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, reached out his hand and took it, and killed a thousand  Philistines with it!

But then Samson  loved a woman named Delilah. And the lords of the Philistines enticed her to find out the secret of Samson’s strength! The bible tells us:

And it came to pass, when she pestered him daily with her words and pressed him, so that his soul was vexed to death,  that he told her all his heart, and said to her, “No razor has ever come upon my head, for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother’s womb. If I am shaven, then my strength will leave me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.”   When Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, “Come up once more, for he has told me all his heart.” So the lords of the Philistines came up to her and brought the money in their hand. Then she lulled him to sleep on her knees, and called for a man and had him shave off the seven locks of his head. Then she began to torment him, and his strength left him. 0 And she said, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” So he awoke from his sleep, and said, “I will go out as before, at other times, and shake myself free!” But he did not know that the LORD had departed from him. 1  Then the Philistines took him and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza. They bound him with bronze fetters, and he became a grinder in the prison. However, the hair of his head began to grow again after it had been shaven.

Now the lords of the Philistines gathered together to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god, and to rejoice. And they said:  “Our god has delivered into our hands Samson our enemy!”  When the people saw him, they praised their god; for they said:  “Our god has delivered into our hands our enemy, The destroyer of our land, And the one who multiplied our dead.” So it happened, when their hearts were merry, that they said, “Call for Samson, that he may perform for us.” So they called for Samson from the prison, and he performed for them. And they stationed him between the pillars.  Then Samson said to the lad who held him by the hand, “Let me feel the pillars which support the temple, so that I can lean on them.”  Now the temple was full of men and women. All the lords of the Philistines were there-about three thousand men and women on the roof watching while Samson performed.   Then Samson called to the LORD, saying, “O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God, that I may with one blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes!”  And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars which supported the temple, and he braced himself against them, one on his right and the other on his left.  Then Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” And he pushed with all his might, and the temple fell on the lords and all the people who were in it. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than he had killed in his life.  And his brothers and all his father’s household came down and took him, and brought him up and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the tomb of his father Manoah. He had judged Israel twenty years. Judges 16:16-31

POWER

AA THE RESURRECTION POWER

The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him, – Matthew 22:23

The Greek word used here for resurrection means “a standing or rising up.” The resurrection is a major theme of New Testament teaching. Out of the 13 sermons in the book of Acts, 11 stress or simply mention the resurrection.

Man consists of three parts – a spirit, a soul, and a body (1 Th. 5:23). The body is mortal while the spirit and soul are immortal. At death, man’s body goes through the decomposition process and returns to its original elements.

At the resurrection, man’s departed soul and spirit are called forth from either heaven or hell. The material elements of the body are raised up, reassembled, and united with the spirit and soul. Thus we have the complete personality of the individual reconstituted. Everyone will be resurrected – some to life, and some to damnation.

The hope of the believer is the resurrection unto life. The natural, earthly, terrestrial, corrupt, weak, mortal, vile body is said to be raised, changed and fashioned into a spiritual, heavenly, celestial, incorrupt, glorious, powerful, and immortal body. This is the completion of everything that has been purchased for us in Christ.

Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:12-17 that if there is no resurrection, then our faith is vain and we are yet in our sins. It is the resurrected life of Jesus that brings spiritual life into us and the resurrection of the body that brings physical regeneration, reconstituting us into the very image of God. The transformation from this physical condition to our glorified bodies will be a huge difference, but the power of God can accomplish it easily. If the Lord can work that miracle, then surely, He can heal our bodies and free us from other bondages.

QUENCH THE ENEMYS FIERY DARTS

Ephesians 6:16 – above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

I believe that when you pray in the Spirit, that is, in tongues, a shield goes up all around youa watery shield. But why do I call it a watery shield? Let me share with you what the Lord showed me.

Once, I was meditating on Ephesians 6:16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. At first, I thought of a Roman soldiers wooden shield. But three words kept repeating themselves in my mind: quench and fiery darts. Then, the Lord said, Son, if it is a wooden shield, the fiery darts will burn it up. He showed me a watery shield instead, one which was able to quench the fiery darts.

You may ask, Where did the water come from?

Remember that Jesus said, He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. (John 7:38) The next verse says, But this He spoke concerning the Spirit… (John 7:39)

Jesus was speaking about the Holy Spirit, which He likened to rivers of living water flowing out of us. So when we pray in the Spirit, rivers of living water will flow, quenching the devils fiery darts thrown at us!

This happened one day when I was having supper with a church member. Now, I dont often pray in tongues when I say grace over my food. But that night, I felt prompted by the Spirit to do so. So I prayed in tongues as I laid my hands on my packet of nasi lemak (coconut-flavored rice).

Soon, we were tucking into our food and talking when suddenly, I bit on something hard. I spat it out quickly and realized that it was a nail! Then, I realized that this was the reason the Lord wanted me to pray in tongues. Though the devil was trying to nail me, he failed!

My friend, put up the watery shield that God has given you. Pray in the Spirit and quench the enemys fiery darts!

ATTITUDE IN ADVERSITY

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus. – Philippians 2:5, NIV

There’s an old saying, “attitude determines altitude.” In other words, a positive, faith-filled attitude will cause you to rise higher in life, but a negative, self-defeated attitude will only drag you down.

When we face adversity, our attitude affects the outcome. Are we going to treat people right even when we’re being mistreated? Are we going to stay full of joy even when the bottom falls out? So many people get all bent out of shape and start complaining when things don’t go their way, but that kind of attitude only closes the door to God’s miracle-working power. The Bible says that faith is what pleases God. Understand that He’s trying to work in your life. He’s trying to get you prepared for promotion, but you’ve got to stay on His side. You’ve got to stand strong and fight that good fight of faith!

If you are going through a difficult time today, keep an attitude of faith and expectancy. Start thanking God for bringing you through to the other side. As you stand strong, you’ll rise higher. You’ll come out stronger and wiser, and you will experience the abundant life God has for you!

CHANGE YOUR RESPONSE!

‘The… Lord is my strength… He enables me to [go on].’ Habakkuk 3:19 NIV

Are things in your life falling apart? Your finances look uncertain, the career you worked to build is floundering, your health is failing, the people you trusted have let you down. Nobody enjoys such times, but if you live long enough you’ll go through them. And they have a way of making you re-examine your responses. When the things the prophet Habakkuk counted on started to crumble, he was forced to discern between what’s truly important and what’s merely temporal. It’s a re-evaluation we all have to make at some point. Here’s what Habakkuk said: ‘Though the fig tree does not bud… there are no grapes on the vines… the olive crop fails… the fields produce no food… there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord… The Sovereign Lord is my strength… He enables me to [go on].’ (Habakkuk 3:17-19 NIV) Habakkuk realised he had no control over certain things. So he chose to control his response by rejoicing in the Lord regardless of what happened, and drawing from God the strength to ‘go on’. What can you learn from this man? That you have a choice! That you can decide to praise God regardless of the hand life deals you. God doesn’t promise to take you out of your situation; He promises to bring you through it. So change your response and begin to praise God for His faithfulness, for your salvation, for your health, for your friends and family, and all the other blessings He’s given you. If you look for reasons to rejoice, you’ll find them!

ROOTED

Joash did what was right in the sight of the LORD all the days of Jehoiada the priest. —2 Chronicles 24:2

Joash must have been confused and frightened when he was told about the evil deeds of his grandmother Athaliah. She had murdered his brothers to usurp the power of the throne in Judah. But baby Joash had been safely hidden away by his aunt and uncle for 6 years (2 Chron. 22:10-12). As he grew, he enjoyed the love and instruction of his caregivers. When Joash was only 7 years old, he was secretly crowned king and his grandmother was overthrown (23:12-15).

Young King Joash had a wise counselor by his side—his very own Uncle Jehoiada (chs. 22–25). Joash was one of the rare “good kings” of Judah, and while his uncle was alive he obeyed the Lord by doing right (24:2). But once his uncle was no longer there to teach and lead by example, Joash fell away and his life ended badly (24:15-25). It seems that the roots of his faith did not run very deep. He even began to worship idols. Perhaps Joash’s “faith” had been more his uncle’s than his own.
Others can teach us the principles of their faith, but each of us must come individually to a lasting and personal faith in Christ. For faith to be real, it must become our own. God will help us walk with Him and become rooted and established in the faith (Col. 2:6-7).

I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.

The faith that continues to the end gives proof that it was genuine in the beginning.

THE RACE IS NOT TO THE SWIFT

PSALM 44:3 For they [God’s people] did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, nor did their own arm save them; but it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, because You favored them.

The world tells you that those with the qualifications, talents and experience get the jobs, promotions and high salaries.

My friend, though you live in this world, as God’s beloved child, you need not be limited by it. You have God’s favor—His unmerited, unearned, undeserved grace! Ecclesiastes 9:11 tells us, “The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong…” This means that even if you are not the smartest, strongest, most knowledgeable or best looking in the natural, God can still give you good success when you depend on His grace. It is His right hand, His arm and His favor that provide for you, fight for you, defend you and give you increase.

So instead of mulling over your “disqualifications”, be conscious of God’s favor on you. Smile and say, “God’s favor is all over me because of Jesus. I expect good things to happen to me today!” Beloved, be conscious of His favor. Believe it. Confess it. And you will experience it!

 GOD CHOOSES THE WEAK

For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty. – 1 Corinthians 1:26–27

God’s ways are often opposite from the world’s ways. According to 1 Corinthians 1:26, “not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.” Isn’t it fascinating to discover that while the world looks favorably upon the wise, mighty and noble, God does not? Let’s see in the next verse what God chooses instead: “God has chosen thefoolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty.”

Isn’t it amazing? God has chosen the foolish and weak things to qualify for His abundant blessings. But the verse does not say that the foolish and weak things will remain foolish and weak. Instead, by God’s unmerited favor, they will put to shame the so-called wise and mighty things in this world. In His hands of grace, the foolish and weak things become even wiser and mightier than the wise and mighty things of the world.

My friend, God is interested in your success. Even if you are not the swiftest, strongest, wisest, most knowledgeable and most skillful in the natural, God can still bless you with good success when you depend on His grace. You can rise above the system of meritocracy and survival of the fittest through His undeserved, unearned and unmerited favor!

“But when the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) comes, Whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth Who comes (proceeds) from the Father, He [Himself] will testify regarding Me” (John 15:26, AMP).

Acknowledge the many roles the Holy Spirit plays in your life. He is the Spirit of Truth, Who wants to guide you into all truth.

POWER

AAPOWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS :

Luke 10:17 – “And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.”

It was the power in the name of Jesus plus the disciples’ faith in that power that made the demons subject unto them. This can clearly be seen in Acts 19:13-17 where certain Jews called on the name of Jesus in an effort to cast demons out of a man. They used the name of Jesus, but it didn’t work because they had not put faith in that name.

These Jews were itinerants who used incantations to effect deliverance for people who were demon possessed. The first-century historian, Josephus, wrote of an exorcism that he witnessed in the presence of Vespasian and many of his soldiers. The exorcist supposedly followed a ritual passed down from King Solomon to effect the deliverance. There is no doubt that men throughout all history have tried to resist demonic spirits, but as this example proves, only Jesus and those who have received His life are successful.

Those who relegate demonic spirits to the realm of superstition do not believe in the entire Word of God. The Gospels alone contain over 90 references to the devil or devils (demons). The Apostle Paul said when writing to these people in Ephesus, “We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Eph. 6:12). The devil and demons do exist, but all believers in Jesus share in His total victory over them.

The name of Jesus is not magic. It does not work like a charm. As Peter said, “His name, through faith in his name” (Acts 3:16) is what brings results.

BE OPEN TO WHAT GOD HAS FOR YOU

Have you ever heard about how hunters used to trap monkeys? The hunters would fill a large barrel with bananas and then cut a small hole in the side of it just barely big enough for the monkey to get his hand and arm through. The monkey, completely unaware of the trap, would reach his arm into the barrel and grab one of those bananas. But when he would try to pull his arm out, he wouldn’t be able to get his clenched fist and the banana through the hole. The monkey would hold that banana so tightly and not dare release it. Consequently, the hunters would easily capture the monkey. What’s interesting is that at any point prior to the capture, the monkey could have easily let go of the banana and pulled his hand out of the barrel. But that monkey was so focused on what he wanted that he didn’t even realize he was in a trap!

Many people live like that today—with both hands clenched, so focused on trying to hold on to what they have that they don’t realize it’s robbing them of the freedom and victory God has in store. Don’t let that be you! Choose to release anything that’s keeping you from God’s best because nothing in this world is worth holding on to so tightly. Don’t get trapped because you aren’t willing to change or reposition yourself or your thinking. Remember, God always has your best in mind. His plans are for your good, and when you follow His plans, you can move forward in peace, strength, joy, faith and victory.

What’s the best way to avoid the traps? Stay close to Father God. Be willing to let go of anything that He whispers to your heart. It can be letting go of wrong mindsets or attitudes. It can be letting go of questions about something that didn’t work out, or letting go of an old relationship. It could even be letting go of a dream that you’ve had so God can give you something better. Don’t let anything keep you from God’s best. You may not always understand, but that’s when you have to trust God’s goodness.

Remember, God always leads us one step at a time in our journey of life. Be open to what He has for you and let Him reposition you. You already have everything you need to be successful in your future, so why hold on to the past? Today set yourself up for freedom and victory by being open-handed, open-minded, and open-hearted to what God has for you!

“Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it.” (Luke 17:33, NIV)

GOD IS HEALING OUR LAND

Shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? God forbid. – Romans 3:3-4

Faith-filled words. That’s what changes things. They’ll move mountains into the sea. They’ll turn sickness into health. They’ll turn a sinner into a saint.

They’ll also take a sin-ridden nation and turn it into God’s own country. That’s right. Then, if we believers would back up the prayers we’ve been praying for this nation with words of faith instead of doubt and discouragement, we’d soon begin to see spiritual resurrection in the United States.

God promised us that if we, His people, would humble ourselves and pray and seek His face and turn from our wicked ways, He would heal our land. And let me tell you, there are prayer warriors all over this country (I hope you’re one of them) who are doing what that promise requires.

But, even so, you don’t hear many people saying, “This is great! God is healing the land.” You don’t hear people speaking out by faith the promise of God. Instead, you hear them saying, “Oh my, oh my, did you hear what those terrorists are doing?” or some other destructive thing they’ve seen on television.

Listen, we need to stop preaching what the terrorists are doing and start telling what God is doing! God said He is healing this land.

We must start speaking about this country by faith instead of going around spouting bad news all the time. Of course, that will sound odd to most people. Some of them may even think we’ve slipped a few cogs. But that’s nothing new.

Let me tell you something: One handful of believers who are listening to, trusting in, and speaking out the good news of God are more powerful than all the devils on earth. One handful of believers are more powerful than a whole army of unbelieving doomsayers. Their unbelief will not make the faith of God of no effect!

That’s why we must learn to turn a deaf ear to the bad news and just start praising and thanking God for His deliverance. Every word of praise we speak releases faith in our heart.

Get determined andake a firm stand with us that things are changing in this country. Settle it in your heart as you pray. Speak it out. Call it forth. God is healing the land!

IS THERE ANYTHING TOO HARD FOR GOD?

Genesis 18:14 Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”

Jeremiah 32
17 ‘Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.

27 “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?

Matthew 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Mark 9:23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

Mark 10:27 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”

Luke 18:27 But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”

When Joseph was thrown into the pit by his brothers, he believed that God was with him. When Joseph was sold as a slave and ended up in Potiphar’s house, he believed that God was with him. When Joseph was accused of a crime that he didn’t commit and thrown into prison, he still believed that God was with him!

Beloved, if you are going through a tough situation or a trial today, don’t get bitter and don’t give up. Believe that God is with you and be conscious of His loving presence with you!

As God came through for Joseph and promoted him from the pit to the palace, His unmerited favor is also at work in your situation causing all things to work out for your good!

Freedom From Disease and Poverty

Galatians 3:13 says, “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law.” But what does it mean to be redeemed from the curse of the law?

By the death and resurrection of Jesus, He paid the price for you and for me. He became the sacrifice for our sins. He died so that we could live. He bore our sicknesses so we could have health. He redeemed us from the curse of the law of sin and death.

The law as described in the New Testament is usually considered to be the Pentateuch, or more clearly the first five books of the Bible. In these first five books — Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy — the curse or punishment for breaking God’s law is broken down into three basic categories.

1) The curse of spiritual death
2) The curse of sickness and disease
3) The curse of poverty

In Deuteronomy 28:15, the Bible tells us about these curses, saying, “It shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you.”

Then it lists curses all the way to verse 60 — forty-five verses of sicknesses and financial disasters that would happen if the law was not kept. In verse 61, the list concludes by saying that not only would these things that were listed happen, but any sickness, disease, or catastrophe that was not listed would happen also.

In other words, not keeping the law was disastrous. But even worse, it was nearly impossible to keep the law. So, poverty, sickness, and spiritual death were virtually assured.

But today, I have good news. When it seemed like there was no hope, God made a way. And that’s just like God. He always makes a way of escape for those who seek Him.

Jesus became our Redeemer. He made a way of escape from poverty, sickness, and spiritual death. However, some Christians do not understand that we have been redeemed from the curse of the law. They accept sickness and poverty as part of the Christian lifestyle. This should not be. We have been set free from the curse of the law. We need to start acting like it.

When you take a coupon to the grocery store, you use it instead of using money. In other words, you redeem the coupon. It takes the place of your money. Your money becomes redeemed because the coupon was the redeemer. Well, that’s what Jesus did.

We had a debt. That debt was the curse of the law. But the problem was that we could not pay the debt. It required a perfect sacrifice. It required a sacrifice that was pure before God. We were not pure. Our debt was impossible to pay.

But then Jesus came to earth as a man and died in our place. He took stripes on His body for our sicknesses. He redeemed us. He paid the debt we could not pay.

When we become a Christian, we have health and prosperity available. We don’t have to be diseased and in poverty. Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law.

GOD STILL PERFORMS MIRACLES :

Mark 16:20 “And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.”

The Lord confirmed the preaching of His Word with miracles. If Jesus and the first century Christians needed the Word confirmed with the miraculous (Heb. 2:4), then we do too. There is no scripture that says these miraculous signs have passed away.

Some people have interpreted “that which is perfect” in 1 Corinthians 13:10, as being the complete Bible. This has led them to believe that the gifts of the Spirit have ceased. Although God’s Word is perfect (Ps. 19:7), it is not the “perfect thing” that is referred to here. 1 Corinthians 13:8 does say that tongues shall cease, but it will not happen until “that which is perfect is come.”

In 1 Corinthians 13:12, Paul says, “when that which is perfect is come, we shall see face to face.” This speaks of seeing the Lord face to face, instead of vaguely, as through a dark glass, as it is now. Some might argue that this is speaking in a symbolic sense, instead of literally face to face. But the next comparison in this verse says that then, “when that which is perfect is come,” we shall know all things even as we are also known. There is no other way to interpret this, except as a description of when we will stand before the Lord, after this life. Then we will be face to face, and know all things even as also we are known.

Verse eight says that at the time prophecies fail and tongues cease, knowledge will vanish away. This is talking about the next life, or the new heavens and earth, because one of the signs of the end times is that knowledge shall increase (Dan. 12:4).

So the “that which is perfect” that Paul speaks of, cannot be the Bible. It has to be either our glorified body, or Jesus at His second coming. Either way, these verses establish that until “that which is perfect is come,” tongues and prophecy will remain. They are still valid gifts, and even today, it is God’s will to accompany the preaching of His Word with miracles.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY :

“The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display His craftsmanship.” (Psalm 19:1)

Good morning dear Lord God, I praise You. I honor You. This is the day the Lord has made; let use rejoice and be glad in it. I sing You a new song on this glorious day O God, for You have done great things in me. I know Your plans for me is to prosper me and not to harm me; plans to give me hope and future. May God impart me wisdom and knowledge and sustain me with Your right hand throughout my sojourn on this earth. Make me Your humble servant, a blessings channel and a brilliant masterpiece on Your hand.

Gratefully, in Jesus’ holy name. Amen !!!

POWER

AAYOU SHALL RECEIVE POWER :

But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth. – Acts 1:8

Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us. – Romans 5:5

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever -John 14:16

But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you. -John 14:26

So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance. – Romans 8:26

When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight [for He will come like a rushing stream which the breath of the Lord drives]. – Isaiah 59:19

If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good gifts [gifts that are to their advantage] to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and continue to ask Him! – Luke 11:13

How God anointed and consecrated Jesus of Nazareth with the [Holy] Spirit and with strength and ability and power; how He went about doing good and, in particular, curing all who were harassed and oppressed by [the power of] the devil, for God was with Him. – Acts 10:38

ANGELIC PROTECTION :

Matthew 18:10 “Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.”

We have angels assigned to us. Hebrews 1:14 further reveals that their purpose is to minister to us (i.e. on our behalf). In the Old Testament, Psalm 91 teaches on the ministry of angels to God’s people.

Some have realized this truth and have taken it even further to say that we are supposed to speak to our angels and they will obey our commands. There is no instruction in scripture to do this nor is there any example of it being done. Many of the angels’ protective duties described in Psalm 91 are preventative, and we certainly could not effectively command these activities.

Rather, these angels are dispatched exactly as this verse describes – by looking at the Father’s face. God Almighty controls them for us; however, we do have a part to play. In Psalm 91 it is those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High, that are able to benefit from angelic activity (v. 1). Verse 2 further instructs us to say that the Lord is our refuge and fortress and that we are trusting in Him.

It is the combination of our faith in God and His faithfulness to us that releases the angels on our behalf. If it was solely up to God, His provision would be the same for everyone because of His mercy and grace. However, we have to receive God’s grace by faith (Eph. 2:8). As you seek the Lord, become aware of His ministering spirits which were created to minister for us, and speak forth your faith in this area, He will send forth His angels on your behalf.

PUT THE RUMOR TO REST :

And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt…but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings. – Exodus 10:22-23

Years ago Satan started a rumor. He told a few Christians that they had to live like the world, sharing all the same misfortune, defeats, poverty and failure with those around them. Well, the word spread. You may have heard the rumor yourself. But I am telling you right now that it is a crafty lie.

The Word of God says in Psalm 91:10, that evil can’t even come near your house if you are abiding in Him.

In John 16, Jesus Himself says He has deprived the world of power to harm you. And Exodus 10:23 says that when thick darkness surrounded the Egyptians, the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

By these and other scriptures, you can see that God never intended you to experience all the junk the world suffers. He’s always wanted His children to live above it, to stand out as light in a dark world.

In the Old Testament, God’s fame was established because of the miracles He had worked for His children. That same thing should be true today with you and me. We should be glorifying God by the miraculously victorious lives we live. People should be coming up to us and saying things like, “I’ve heard how God healed you.” Or, “I’ve heard how your children were delivered from drugs.” Or, “God has really brought you out of a financial crisis.”

Can you see now why Satan would spread a rumor to make you believe you have to suffer with the world instead of live as victor over it? He doesn’t want people running after you asking where you get your power, your peace, your health and prosperity.

But that’s exactly what God wants to happen. So put the Word of God to work and dare to receive the blessings He has promised to you. Let the light of God’s power in your life put the devil’s dark rumors to rest!

WHAT DO WE WANT?

There is none upon earth that I desire besides You. —Psalm 73:25

My friend Mary tells me that she doesn’t always sing all the words to the hymns and choruses in a church service. She says, “It doesn’t seem honest to sing, ‘All I want is Jesus’ when my heart wants many other things too.” I appreciate her honesty.

In verse 25 of Psalm 73, Asaph sounds like a spiritually minded man who wants God only: “There is none upon earth that I desire besides You.” But that’s not how he began this psalm. Initially, he admitted that he wanted the prosperity that others around him had: “For I was envious of the boastful” (v.3). But when he drew near to God, he recognized that he was foolish to be envious (vv.21-22,28).

Even when we know God, we are often distracted by the prosperity of others. C. S. Lewis wrote, “It would seem that our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. . . . We are far too easily pleased” with lesser things than Him.

What do we learn about God in this psalm that might help when our desires distract us from God’s best? Well, we see that even though we may be tempted to envy what others have, He is continually guiding us and bringing us back to focus on Him. He “is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” (v.26).

Lord, we do believe that You are the place where true satisfaction is found. But we’re weak and sinful and easily distracted from Your best. Teach us to
draw near to You, and may You, in turn, draw near to us.

A daily dose of God’s wisdom will heal the heart disease of envy.

SEE YOUR ENEMIES FLEE BECAUSE OF JESUS :

DEUTERONOMY 28:7 – The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.

Some people think that Jesus and the devil are always confronting and fighting each other. But when I read my Bible, I don’t see fights between the two. What I see is the devil having to flee whenever he encounters Jesus!

Consider the demoniac from the country of the Gadarenes in Luke8:26–39. The demons in the man begged Jesus not to torment them or send them into the abyss, but to permit them to enter a herd of swine nearby.

You see, neither the devil nor his demons can stand before Jesus. They may be able to torment people for a while, but when Jesus comes on the scene, they know that that is the end of their stay. They will have to flee! All it took was just one word from Jesus, and the entire legion of demons had to come out of the man and flee into the swine.

As a child of God, you exude a spiritual fragrance which evil spirits can detect and which causes them to tremble. It is the life of Jesus inside you. And He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. (1 John 4:4) That is why no curse, spell, accusation, scandal or destruction planned against you can succeed. Your enemies may come against you one way, but the Lord will confuse them and cause them to flee before you seven ways!

Jesus paid with His life to give you this victory over your enemies. After His arrest in the garden of Gethsemane, the Jews and Gentiles were united for the first time with one common objective: Torture Jesus and have Him killed. King Herod of the Jews and Pontius Pilate of the Romans were long-time enemies, but because of Jesus, they became friends. (Luke 23:12)

My friend, Jesus’ enemies were united and had “victory” over Him. But because He triumphed over them through the cross and rose again, today, your enemies will be scattered and you will have victory over them!

PRAYER TO END THE DAY :
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” (Colossians 3:15)

Dear Lord God thank you for this fruitful evening & blessed work day……Precious Lord Jesus, I praise You. I glorify Your name. It is always my joy to say a prayer under the moon in a silent night. I like to share my sadness and happiness with You when the moonlit is shining upon me. I am so thankful to You for loving me and guiding and directing my life. That gives me peace and that peace brings joy to my heart.

Gratefully, in Jesus’ holy name. Amen !!!

The Gospel is Not Complicated

Even though most Christians claim to believe the entire Bible as the inspired Word of God, for some reason, many times we hesitate to blindly trust in God’s Word. Even when we study the Bible, we often have a point to prove and merely use the Bible to substantiate our already established belief.

When we open the Bible, we should not have preconceived ideas. Wouldn’t it be great if we could open the Word of God, not as Baptists, not as Methodists, not as Presbyterians, not as fundamentalists, or not as Charismatics, but simply as Christians and accept clearly what God’s Word says?

It has been said that there are two things that you shouldn’t talk about. One is politics and the other is religion. When you talk about politics, people sometimes get so hostile and mad they become unreasonable. They have their opinion and nothing you can say, no logic discussed, will change their mind. Even if they know they are wrong, they won’t admit it.

Sadly, many Christians are the same way with their religious beliefs. Some get a belief and hold on to the idea as truth, regardless. We must go to the Word of God, the Bible, in prayer asking God to show us His truths and then believe what He shows us!

We shouldn’t believe something just because of tradition. We must believe what God says. Jesus said in John 8 that if we would abide in His Word then we would be His disciples and we would know the truth and the truth would set us free.

How can we find the truths of God? Second Timothy 3:16 says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

A missionary, after returning from a non-Christian country, related to me that he had seen great miracles take place. He had seen the blind healed and the lame walk in the name of Jesus. When asked why the natives received their healings so easily, he replied that the natives had nothing to unlearn. They just simply believed the Word and acted on what they believed.

We need to clear our minds of mans’ ideas and philosophies and abide in the Word of God. In these last days, God wants to teach us to be receptive to His Word. Only when we believe God’s Word enough to act on it will we receive the promises of His Word.

A man once told me that the Bible was too complicated for him to understand. He didn’t have a great education and he felt this kept him from understanding God’s Word. He went on to say that instead of reading the Bible, he just listened to preachers because he knew they must be right. Well, quite frankly, that’s goofy thinking.

If Satan can make us believe the lie, that we cannot understand the Word of God on our own, then we won’t study it. God commands us to study His Word. “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”(2 Timothy 2:15 KJV) Satan knows that without the Word there is no faith; and without faith we as Christians are ineffective.

Second Corinthians 11:3 tells us that the gospel, the good news, is not complicated, but simple. You don’t have to be a scholar. The gospel is for everyone.

So, read the Word of God. Believe what you read and act on what you believe. That’s faith!

PS. We need to guard against ever believing that we are better than or a firmer believer than the next person. Unless you hear the voice of the Lord for yourself and take your burdens to Him directly, the doors are already open to deception and deceit. Nobody walls away in one fell swoop, it starts subtly, little by little ever so subtly a small thing here and another there, still feeling good about ourselves because we have this great understanding and know where to draw the line. Thing is once you have left the narrow way, there are no more lines to draw. The only way back is on your knees in humbleness, always remembering that Satan is going around like a roaring lion but also as a sneaky tempter to devour whoever let their guard down.
Not one of us have arrived yet, let us persevere and keep our noses to the grindstone. There is no room for pride and arrogance. Let us keep following Jesus, obey Him and follow His commandments.

YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES :

“For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, He will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you” – (2 Corinthians 9:10, NLT)

When Jesus sent His disciples out to heal the sick, meet their needs, and share the Gospel, He told them, “Give as freely as you have received” (Matthew 10:8). In other’s words, God has given you everything you need to do what He’s called you to do in this life. He has equipped you to be successful and has empowered you to overcome in this life. He’s given you seed to sow in order to have an abundant harvest in your future. You have what it takes!

God has placed seed in your hand today, but in order for that seed to produce, it has to be planted. It has to be watered. It has to be fertilized. Today, ask God to show you where to plant your seed. Make sure you are sowing in the right ground and tending to the seed He has given you. Remember, God has a good plan for your future. He has plans to bless you and increase you. Today, you have what it takes to move forward and receive the blessing He has prepared for you!

A YEAR OF ABUNDANCE :

‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’ – Jeremiah 29:11, NLT

What are you planning for this year? Are you planning this year according to the news reports, or are you planning this year according to the Word of God? It’s good to be informed about what’s happening in the world, but remember, God is not limited by what we see in the natural. You may be planning to have an ordinary year, but God is planning for you to have an extraordinary year. You may be planning on just barely getting by, but God is planning on a year of abundance for you.

God wants to do supernatural things in your life this year! He wants you to be an example of His goodness. Start declaring that this year is going to be your best year yet. Start declaring that this is the year you will see your dreams come to pass. Start declaring that this year will be your year of abundance!

CALL FORTH WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE!

…God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did. – Romans 4:17

How does God respond to our problems? For example, how did He respond to the problem of darkness? The Bible tells us that when God saw darkness on the face of the deep, He said, “Let there be light,” and there was light (Genesis 1:3). God saw the light and it was good. He saw good after He spoke! He didn’t speak about the darkness He saw. Instead, He spoke forth what He wanted to see.

My friend, you are made in God’s image. And God wants you to deal with the problems in your life by speaking forth what you want to see. Unfortunately, many of us tend to speak about our problems instead. We keep talking about how bad the situation is and then we wonder why the whole situation just seems to get worse!

Now, I am not telling you to deny that your problem exists. The darkness was there and God saw it, but He did not speak about what He saw. Rather, God chose to speak forth what He wanted to see. In fact, He called fortheverything of creation—the sun, moon, stars, land animals, sea creatures and vegetation. By simply speaking, He brought all these incredible things into existence.

Beloved, if you want to see good, then speak the good that you want to see. Don’t say, “This headache is really killing me.” Say, “I am healthy and strong for by Jesus’ stripes I have been healed!” And don’t say, “My boss hates me. He’s always picking on me.” Instead say, “Because I have favor with God, I have favor with my boss!” Call forth the good that you want to see and you will see it!

Your Words Carry Power!

Where the word of a king is, there is power… Ecclesiastes 8:4

In Bible times, a king’s word carried tremendous power. What he decreed would come to pass. It would be done. For example, if he said, “Raise the taxes,” the taxes would be raised.

Do you know that we are kings? The Bible tells us that Jesus has washed us from our sins with His blood and made us kings. (Revelation 1:5–6) And as kings in Christ, our words carry power too.

When we place our hands on a sick person and say, “Be healed,” the person is healed. When we lay hands on our children and say, “Be blessed,” our children are blessed. There is power in our words because they are the words of kings!

When I was a young Christian in my teens, I wanted to practice what I had learnt about the power of my words. There was this particular plant near my home and whenever I passed by it, I would say to it, “Be cursed in Jesus’ name!”

Many days passed. And I will never forget the day when I noticed that the leaves of the plant had turned brown! You may want to try this at home with your potted plants, but bless them instead!

Since our words carry power, can you imagine the harm we do when we say to our loved ones things like, “You are always so careless”, “You are good for nothing” or “You are so stupid”? We are cursing them!

The devil is happy when you use the power of your words against yourself and your loved ones. He wants to see you defeated. So instead of saying, “I am always short of money,” say, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (Psalm 23:1) Instead of saying, “I am so useless. I can’t do anything,” start saying, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)

Beloved, remember that as a king, what you say will come to pass because where the word of a king is, there is power. So learn to say what God says about you in His Word and see His promises come to pass in your life!

Thought For The Day
As kings in Christ, our words carry power. When we speak God’s promises, they will come to pass.
