He Gave Them Power And Authority

Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.  He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. Luke 9:1-2

After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. Luke 10:1

The wise and prudent think they can learn and know about God simply through studying, and through worldly wisdom, but we know from God’s word that this is impossible (1 Corinthians 1:26-31, John 3:3-5). Christ Jesus, became for us wisdom from God-and righteousness and sanctification and redemption and only through Him we can be saved, healed, delivered, set free and blessed. Unless He reveals to us that we must be born of water and the Spirit, we cannot enter the kingdom of God; for that which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Salvation of soul or spirit or body comes through Jesus in whose hands is all authority and power in heaven and on earth and no other (Matthew 18:18). Jesus gave His followers power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases, He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. And they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere just as Jesus commanded them to do!

The followers of Jesus were not wise and prudent to debate with Jesus about whether it was the proper thing to do. They just obeyed the Master and did what He told them to do. They were not proud, arrogant and stubborn. On the contrary they were humble, meek and teachable.  They were hungry for all that God had to offer them. They didn’t allow their limited knowledge to blind them to all the great truths Jesus would reveal to them, like rejoicing in not the spirits are subject to them, but rather rejoicing because their names are written in heaven.  These babes were chosen by Jesus according to the purpose and foreknowledge of God, while the wise and prudent ones were passed by! God’s word is true:

Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.  “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.  “Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”   In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. Luke 10:17-21

Then He said to another, “Follow Me.” But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God.”  And another also said, “Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go and bid them farewell who are at my house.”  But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:59-62

“And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sicknesses and all kinds of diseases among the people. Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.” Matthew 4:23-24

Because of the Lord’s compassion (Matthew 8:1-4), His desire to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8) and to do the will of God in all things,  Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Yes,  Jesus  and his disciples spent much time casting out demons which is something theologians with doctorate degrees often miss the things of the Kingdom, while “unschooled and ignorant” men, women, and even children not only know them, but also effectively apply them. They wise and prudent ones have failed to understand that unless they became as little children they would not even enter the Kingdom of Heaven for the Kingdom belongs to the “poor in spirit” (Matthew 5:3). But God’s word is unchanging:

My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. James 3:1

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.  But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. James 3:13-18

Wise and prudent ones don’t understand that that good conduct and works done in meekness of wisdom, and not bitter envy and self seeking is what God requires from them.  They fail to understand that God’s wisdom is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy, while the devil’s wisdom is earthy and sensual and full of partiality and hypocrisy.

It’s a fact that the so called church of Jesus Christ has been subjected to a demonic invasion that has robbed it of most of the blessings of the Kingdom including divine health, divine prosperity, divine power and divine wealth. As a result there are churches where Satan has a large measure of effective control and where false doctrine and lack of love and the presence of all kinds of relational and personal sin abound. As a result demonic oppression, unbelief and sickness are present in the lives of many of its members and the true anointing is missing to bring healing and deliverance.

Blind ones cannot see that sickness, disease, lack  and poverty which are God’s judgments are all around us and we cannot escape them. But there is no sickness or poverty  in heaven and there was no sickness or poverty in the garden of Eden when God made Adam and Eve. Sickness and poverty are spiritual problems as a result of a breakdown in divine order. However when through the power of the Holy Spirit the Kingdom of God is restored in our lives and bodies divine healing and health and divine prosperity result. Every divine healing done is a manifestation of the Kingdom of God. God’s word is unchanging:

… “If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.” Exodus 15:26

“So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. “No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days. Exodus 23:25-26

Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them. Matthew 4:24

Most sickness is caused by demons – either directly or indirectly.  Sickness represents the kingdom of Satan in a person’s body. And the church for the most  part has been ineffective in dealing with demons  and with sickness in the name of Jesus.  Casting  out demons by the Spirit of God, and healing the sick is a demonstration that the kingdom of God has come upon us (Matthew 12:28, Luke 9:2,11,). Jesus told His disciples, “Whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you. “And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you‘ (Luke 10:9).

The Kingdom of God is the place where Jesus is King. It is a spiritual, invisible kingdom in the hearts of those who are born again and the influence that they make on their society. It’s also opposed at ever turn by Satan’s kingdom (Matthew 12:26).  Yes, “the whole world lies under the sway of the evil one” (1 John 5:19). Satan is called “the god of this age” (2 Corinthians 4:4), “the prince of the power of the air” and “the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience” (Ephesians 2:2). He operates through a vast hierarchical network of fallen angels, evil spirits or demons as they are variously known, exercises a stupendous influence on the hearts and lives of men, women, boys and girls.

Yes, the existence of Satan’s kingdom accounts for the hatred, the wars, the stupidity and selfishness of mankind, the existence of false religions and philosophies and the presence of every kind of perversion and deception on the face of the earth. Satanic influence is very effective because it operates in the background, and is generally not openly displayed. It is almost always covered under another name or philosophy such as communism, Islam and the New Age movement.  But God’s word is unchanging:

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Revelation 12:11

It is a fact that according to the power that resides and works in us, God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think and give us one hundred percent victory, one hundred percent of the time, in one hundred percent of the situations. After all He is God, not man!  It is also a fact that Jesus, now as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, is no longer poor or weak anymore as He was when He walked the earth as man. He is now once again unlimited in power, riches, strength and might.  But the best news is that God wants to use all of His power, riches, and resources on our behalf and meet our needs: If we only will believe Him and trust Him to do it for us; If we will only humble ourselves and on a bent knee give Him our all and ask for His all.  Then we shall know the truth of God’s word which states:

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37

“Thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.” (2 Corinthians 2:14)

As a result of what Jesus did on the Cross-, by faith everything is ours now.  Jesus Christ has substituted all things on the cross for us and exchanged it there for us. Our death, defeat and poverty and curses have been nailed to the Christ. On the Cross Jesus Christ not only won real victory and redemption over sin and death and the world, but also over the wicked arch enemy Satan and all his angels who had made the Cross necessary by what he did to Adam and Eve.

The enemy had deceived and entrapped Adam and Eve to sin against God and live a life that was cursed and full of toil and trouble.  But on the Cross Jesus Christ did the great exchange.  He exchanged His sinlessness for our sins, His righteousness for our unrighteousness, His strength for our weakness, His boundless supply for our needs, His stripes for our healing, His riches for our poverty, His victories for our defeats, His triumphs for our disappointments, His glory for our shame, His Honor for our nothingness, His prosperity for our poverty, His prosperity for our lacks, His joy for our sadness, and His fullness for our emptiness. But all of this is also something that must be revealed to us by the Holy Spirit before we can understand and partake of it fully. Yet it is all our birthright and the blessing of the fullness of the gospel of Christ.

The message of the cross and the Gospel is not only that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. He was buried and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. He is now is seated at the right hand of the Father with all power given unto Him in heaven and earth waiting for His enemies to be made His footstool.  But the message of the cross and the Gospel is also that as a result of the victories Jesus won on the cross, He has now given and shared all that He has with us and He is also with and for us continually.  God in Christ Jesus has literally become our inheritance and great reward; as well as everything else which we need, including our healer and deliverer. As result of the Cross, God said about Jesus and of us who have become strong and overcomers:

Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors. Isaiah 53:12

The Cross is also a real testimony of what God’s power can do no matter what the Hell or injustice that the world or the devil will throw at us.  For Jesus’ resurrection after a cruel and awful death signifies the real possibility of total and complete victory in our lives, hearts and circumstances as well in the current time of life as we trust in God just like Jesus did. The empty Cross now says to you and I, that for every defeat there is victory in its place, for every failure there is success, for every weakness there is grace, for every sickness there is healing, for every hatred there is love, for every injustice there is justice and for every poverty there is riches. All of this and much, much more belongs to each child of God because of what Jesus did and won on the Cross.  Hence we can by the Holy Spirit understand what the Lord said to Apostle Paul:

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)

A Temper Tantrum

Throwing over Tables: A Temper Tantrum?

We all have things that irritate us, and we display our anger in different ways. Yet research has proven that it is not good to be angry. One study found that bad-tempered people are three times more likely to have heart attacks. And a 2006 Harvard study revealed that 10 million men in the U.S. are so angry, they are sick. In fact, their disease has a name: Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED).

Having said all that, not all anger is bad. The Bible records a time when Jesus Christ, God incarnate, was angry. Very angry. After making His triumphal entry into Jerusalem with crowds cheering and palm branches waving, Jesus “went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it, saying to them, ‘It is written, “My house is a house of prayer,” but you have made it a “den of thieves” ‘ ” (Luke 19:45-46).

Was Jesus having a temper tantrum? Hardly. It was righteous indignation. He went into the temple. He took stock of the situation. And He overturned tables. Why such a display of anger? Because the people engaged in temple commerce were keeping others from God. They had a little racket going in which they found fault with the sacrificial animals the people brought in and then sold them an “approved” animal at an inflated price. And this made Jesus angry.

God is angry when people stand in the way of sinners coming to know Him. God doesn’t like it when we get in the way, and it happens all too often in the church. But the church is not supposed to be a museum for saints; it is supposed to be a hospital for sinners—a place for people to know God.

It wasn’t righteous indignation but judgment!

The Greek Word for “meekness” describes a person 1. who is under the control of the Holy Spirit 2. It describes a person who is teachable at all times. 3. It describes a person who acts under the command of the Holy Spirit.  For instance, a cheetah is the only member of the cat family that can be taught to hunt on command and when it has been trained to do so, is then called a meek animal. 4. It describes a person who gets angry at the right time and never at the wrong time and who takes the appropriate action to correct a bad/evil situation.

And, yes, God does get angry at sin and He takes the appropriate action to correct the situation which was exactly what happened in the Temple.  Seeing the desecration in the Temple, Jesus said, “It is written, My house shall be a house of prayer; but you made it a den of robbers” (Matt. 21: 13; Mk. 11: 17; Lk. 19: 46).  This was no temper tantrum.  It was His judgement as God in the Flesh.  Was it a temper tantrum when God destroyed Sodom & Gomorrah?  No, it was His Judgement.  Righteous indignation gives a wrong emphasis.  Indignation is defined as, anger or scorn resulting from injustice, ingratitude, or meanness: it is righteous anger.  So, sin is supposed to make us angry and then take the appropriate action to correct the situation.

I have to point out to many Christians, that when they get angry because of win and wrong doing, it is the Holy Spirit prompting them to do something to correct what is going on.  It is controlled anger not uncontrolled anger.  With Jesus, the Temple was constructed for prayer and, like many churches today, where pastors and priests are doing the same thing that was happening in the Temple.  I believe it is called “Prosperity Teaching”. The Temple was being used to make money by turning it into a market for the sale of animals for sacrifices which people were supposed to choose from their own flocks and herds and to exchange the regular unclean money for the Temple’s kosher money.  They used the  Court of the Gentiles which guaranteed that no unclean Gentiles could make their temple unclean.

Jesus had every right to bring judgment upon them.  That is the reason why He said, “Do not judge by appearances, judge with right judgement” (Jn. 7: 24).  “Meekness” is a fruit of the Spirit along side of Self-control (Gal. 5: 23).  Our God does not through tantrums.  The word “tantrum” is defined as, “a violent , wilful outburst of annoyance, rage, fit, of bad temper”.  None of which describes our God: Father, Jesus Christ or the Holy Spirit.

For anyone to accuse Jesus of “temper tantrums” shows that he certainly does not know Him and they have made very bad judgement which tells us more about them, than they should be telling us.  It reminds me of the one who received one talent and who went and  hid it in the ground.  He misjudged the master.  He said, “Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not winnow; so I was afraid, and I went and h id your talent in the ground.  Here you have what is yours” (Matt. 25: 24 – 25).  Well our “Master” is not a hard Man (God) and He does plant and He does winnow and He does invest in us as the Cross of Calvary demonstrates.  His anger is always under control.  And, by the way, studies have discovered that if a person does not get angry he will get sick.  So, there is a sick anger and an healthy anger.  He offers us Mercy instead of Justice or nobody could ever be saved.  Our Master, is described, “For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (Jn. 3: 16 –17)

Where are the Dorcas amongst us? I see the outstretched hand to take, yet you rarely see the outstretched hand to give. For God has never seen the righteous forsaken nor His seed begging Bread… What is really going on? Are we truly dying to our selfish wants?

Anybody can be deceived and many Christians are thinking they are once saved always saved, they have a very special relationship with God, they are better than others, and God will defend and avenge them? In most cases it’s all a deception because they have not met God’s conditions to be true for them! In other words they are not true men or women of God

Yes, there are some believers who have never received the Gift of Speaking in other national languages (tongues) and do not have the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. But, this prevents them from having the kind of relationship with Jesus and doing the ministry to which we are all called. There is no doubt that some people hear God speak to them occasionally. But we are supposed to hear Him speak to us everyday. When Jesus said to each of the Seven Churches in the Book of Revelation and commanded each of them, “He who has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches” (Rev. 2: 7, 11, 17, 29; 3: 6, 13, 22), He is tell us to listen to the Holy Spirit every day. Hearing occasionally from God is not what He desires.

The Holy Spirit is supposed to speak to us every day. This is what the Greek says in John 16: 26: “he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said and done” every day. Not an occasional time when He can catch our attention. He, the Holy Spirit, is called Counsellor (Grk. defense attorney). He is supposed to be able to “guide you into all the truth” every day. Being able to hear from God is not supposed to be once in a while when He can catch our attention. No, all of that changes when we receive the authentic Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the “signs following” because speaking in tongues is God’s new communications system. Without the “signs” (Mk. 16: 17 – 18) we are not authentic believers (Greek definition defined in the Greek Lexicon (dictionary). To rely on some teacher who speaks in tongues is not adequate. People who reject what Jesus wants us to have are deceiving themselves.

It is easy for people to dismiss applying the “adding and taking away from the Book of Revelation” which is true. But, there is no dismissing what Paul said to the Corinthian Church who had two groups of people in the church who did not want to accept the Baptism of the Holy Spirit when he wrote “I have applied all this to myself and Apollos for your benefit brethren, that you may learn by us not to go beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up (full of pride) in favour of one against the other” (1 Cor. 4: 6). This means, in an other way, “don’t add or take away from the Scriptures”. When a person does this, they appear to be arrogant as if all the work that Jesus has done for us is not necessary, that in some way or another, I can pick and choose what I want out of the Scriptures, like some kind of a spiritual smagasbord.

Rejecting the any of the Gifts of the Holy SpirIt, especially the Gift of speaking in national languages (Grk: 1 Cor. 12: 10) is at the least a subconscious or conscious rejection of God’s daily communications system so a person does not have to listen to what Jesus or our Heavenly Father wants to say to us every day through the Holy Spirit. This arrogance has led many people away from their “Normal Christian Life”. It reminds me of what happened when God led the Israelites out of Egypt and up to Mount Sinai. Remember, they did not want God to speak to them, “Go near, and hear all that the LORD (Yahweh) our God will say; and speak to us all that the LORD (Yahweh) will speak to you; and we will hear and do it” (Deut. 5: 27).

Our God wants to have a personal speaking relationship with us daily which He establishes with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and as described on the Day of Pentecost all 120 believers were filled with the Holy Spirit and had the proof of speaking in new languages. Rejecting, the good Gifts (Lk. 11: 13) of the Holy Spirit demonstrates that people are in rebellion against God’s will and they will use any excuse, like the Israelites, so they will not have to listen to Him everyday.

In the Corinthian Church were  three groups of people: believers who were Baptized with the Holy Spirit and had the initial gift of speaking in tongues; unbelievers who were seeking for God; a group of new believers who rejected the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and Gifts of the Holy Spirit. These new believers did not have the Holy Spirit and they rejected the work of the Holy Spirit. The Greek word to describe them is “idiotes” singular, “idiotoi” plural from which we derive the word “idiot” or “idiots” which describes “one without professional knowledge, ignorant and common person” which is the same definition in Greek. These people are what Paul describes when he wrote, “The unspiritual (psychikos) man does not receive the gifts of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually (pneumatikos) discerned” (1 Cor. 2: 14). Unspiritual person is one who does not have the Holy Spirit and who betrays himself to others who do by his/her rejection of the the Holy Spirit and His Gifts (1 Cor. 12: 13; Rom. 12: 6 – 8; 1 Cor. 12: 8 – 10). Such people make their decisions by means of their human spirit/soul (psyche).

Do you not know about John MacArthur?  He is identifying people who are false apostles, teachers and prophets and who are obviously not doing the work of the Holy Spirit.  He is correct on the one hand but on the other hand, he blasphemes the Holy Spirit by denying that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the “Signs Following” and the “Gifts of the Holy Spirit” are for today.  And, attributes them to the devil or demons. He, himself, blasphemes the Holy Spirit because he cannot identify the legitimate works of the Holy Spirit.  He is a cessationist who believes that the miraculous work of the Holy Spirit stopped with the first apostles.  He is widely known to be against the legitimate works of the Holy Spirit.  Many years ago, a man who did research for MacArthur, put my first report on the Toronto-so-called blessing on his web page.  He was trying to use my report to substantiate the wrongs in the TACF even though he did not agree with me about the Holy Spirit.  His message, which I listened to, is about character building and correcting other people’s ideas about the Doctrine of the Trinity.  If you listen to it carefullly, he never refers to the authentic New Testament miraculous works of the Holy Spirit.  He does not have a healing ministry.  He is a modern-day Pharisee of whom Jesus described when he said, “You are wrong because you know neither the scriptures nor the power of God” (Matt. 22: 29).  I was given a collection of his books (3 box full) a couple of years ago but he just doesn’t get it. And, of course, he doesn’t know or understand the Holy Spirit and His works.  He is a model-evangelical who has never received the Holy Spirit and operates on a human understanding.  He is best described by Paul, who wrote, “The unspiritual man (psychikos) does not receive the gifts (things) of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually (pneuamtikos) discerned” (1 Cor. 2: 14).  I would be very careful about referring people to him.  As the TACF is wrong on the one side, he is equally wrong on the other side.  The truth is in the center with the New Testament which neither side wants to accept and so they both “blaspheme against the Holy Spirit”.

As a Christian, you have authority over the forces of the enemy. “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19).

As a believer you have been given authority over all the power of the enemy, but not every Christian walks in this authority. Nevertheless, the authority is still there.

Sola Scriptura is unbiblical. Nowhere does the bible teach that the bible alone is our sole authority. Rather it states JN 16:13 “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

Many try to say 2 Tim 3:16-17 teaches it. It says that scripture is inspired and profitable.  However, nowhere does it say that it is sufficient, or that it contains all inspired truth necessary to know, or that only scripture is profitable. In fact, if you try to use these verses to prove scripture is all you need, then if you look at verse 15, you will see that Paul is talking about scripture that Timothy knew since infancy, the Old Testament. OUR RESPONSIBILITY

IT’S OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO RUN THE RACE THAT IS SET BEFORE US AND NOT GOD’S,  AND TO ENDURE CHASTENING AND TO COOPERATE WITH GOD’S DEALINGS WITH US AND ACT ACCORDINGLY?

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
2    looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3    For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.
4    You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.

Dear Friends, I have a serious case of gum disease, and am in danger of losing many of my teeth. I have no health insurance, and have no money coming in, so I am doing what I can on my own (like flossing, brushing with herbal preparations, rinsing with powerful mouth wash, water pick use, taking better vitamins and herbs, lowering sugar intake, and exercising) and relying on God to heal me. H.l.  is not a biblican scholar at all.  If she knows Hebrew then she should know this one basic truth.  Yahshua is not Jesus’ Hebrew name.  It is YAHWEH.  He is Yahweh in the flesh.  A simple cross-referencing of the prophecies concerning Jesus in the OT says, “Whoever calls on the name of Yahweh will be saved” (Acts 2: 21; Joel 2: 32)  As I mentioned, the Name Jesus means (Yahweh is Salvation).  To pray to Yahshua is to pray to Joshuah.  We are given the Name “Jesus” to use and what most of these Messianic Jews get themselves into trouble with God because they only what to pick and choose from the New Testament while following the Old Testament.  It does not work that way.  The Old Testament is no longer in effect.  It has been replaced (Lk. 16: 16; Heb. 7).  That is the reason why she is not being healed and if she persists all of her vitamins, herbs, lowering sugar intake and exercizing  instead of calling on the “only name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4: 12) will not her receive healing.   That Name is Jesus.  And, none of the New Testament Scriptures were written in Hebrew.  None of the Apostles or writers called Jesus by any other name when writing or praying.  They prayed to Jesus, the Holy Spirit and our Heavenly Father.  If she was a true Messianic Jew, she would be talking like the disciples who were the first real, true Messianic Jews who received Jesus as their Saviour, Lord and Messiah.

WOE TO YOU IF YOU ARE ARROGANT, PROUD OR FOOLISH!

4    Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

GOD HEARS THE PRAYERS OF THE RIGHTEOUS AND NOT THE UNRIGHTEOUS EVEN IF THEY THINK THEY ARE CHRISTIANS! AND PROSPERITY COMES FROM GOD ALONE AND NO OTHER! THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT GOD HAS NO SHORTAGES

Proverbs 22:4 By humility and the fear of the LORD Are riches and honor and life.

Romans 10:12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him.

MEN ARE FULL OF SHORTAGES INCLUDING MONEY, HEALTH, POWER, WISDOM, LOVE AND PATIENCE. BUT GOD IS RICH IN EVERYTHING THAT WE NEED. HIS RICHES, RESOURCES, WEALTH AND POWER ARE UNLIMITED AND THAT IS AMAZING CONSIDERING HOW BIG AND VAST OUR EVER EXPANDING GALAXIES ARE!

AND THE GOOD NEWS HE HAS PROMISED FOR THOSE WHO BELIEVE TO SUPPLY ALL THEIR NEEDS ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES IN GLORY BY CHRIST JESUS

 WOE TO THOSE WHO REJECT THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT

Demonized ones and Demons despise the gifts of the Holy Spirit and cause men to despise them. Why? Because the operation of these supernatural gifts of power counter the work of demons. Their presence and wiles are exposed by the discerning of spirits and the word of knowledge. Their evil is undone by the word of wisdom, faith, gifts of healing and miracles.

Their plans bring harm are thwarted by a (timely word of prophecy or by tongues with interpretation. No wonder demons so strongly oppose these gifts!

These nine gifts were also given to the church for its edification. Satan is the enemy of the church and sets himself against that which is designed to build up the Body of Christ. He makes strong thrusts at the gifts, and especially at tongues which has a special purpose in the edification of the individual believer. (See I Cor. 14:4)

If the person experiencing deliverance has not been baptized in the Holy Spirit he should be encouraged to receive this baptism and to desire the spiritual gifts. We have seen many persons receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit as the climax of a ministry of deliverance. The empowering of the Holy Spirit is important in retaining one’s deliverance.

Those who already have the baptism in the Holy Spirit should be encouraged to “covet earnestly the best gifts” (I Cor. 12:31), and the best gift is the one that will minister to the needs of others in any given situation. It is quite common that hindrances to the gifts are removed through deliverance. There are specialist demons who seek to block the operation of spiritual gifts. After deliverance the house should be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit.

RESTORATION

Perseverance And Prosperity From The God of Restoration

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;  and perseverance, character; and character, hope.  Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:1-5

The word of God teaches us that in order to have true prosperity we must have perseverance. You could not have one without the other.  As a matter of fact Jesus taught in the parable of the sower that perseverance and prosperity were related. The bible records for our instruction:

“Therefore hear the parable of the sower: “When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside.
“But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy;  “yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.
“Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.
“But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” Matthew 13:18-23

The heart of man is like the soil of the earth. Each soil is different and has different characteristics. Poor soil allows the devil to come and steal the word of God that is sown in the heart. Stony soil doesn’t have a heart that is persevering when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word.  Soil with thorns allows the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches to choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.  But good soil with patience bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Faith, virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, and brotherly love are also interrelated and are part of prosperity. For God’s word is unchanging:

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,  as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,  by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,  to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness,  to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Peter  1:1-8

While men look at riches, wealth and power as signs of prosperity, God considers faith, virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, and brotherly love as the true elements of prosperity. For God’s word is unchanging:

A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, Loving favor rather than silver and gold. Proverbs 22:1

“I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ” Acts 20:35

We give no offense in anything, that our ministry may not be blamed. But in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses,  in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in fastings;  by purity, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by sincere love, by the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,  by honor and dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true; as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as chastened, and yet not killed;  as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. 2 Corinthians 6:3-10

In the kingdom of God things are not like they are in the kingdom of men.  It’s the givers who are truly blessed, it’s the humble who are great, a good name is to be chosen rather than great riches and God’s loving favor is to be sought above silver and gold. For God’s word is unchanging:

And King Ahasuerus imposed tribute on the land and on the islands of the sea.  Now all the acts of his power and his might, and the account of the greatness of Mordecai, to which the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?  For Mordecai the Jew was second to King Ahasuerus, and was great among the Jews and well received by the multitude of his brethren, seeking the good of his people and speaking peace to all his countrymen. Esther 10:1-3

“Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business;  “but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”
And the saying pleased the whole multitude. And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch, whom they set before the apostles; and when they had prayed, they laid hands on them.
Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith. And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people. Acts 6:3-8

“The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ-He is Lord of all-  “that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached:  “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:36-38

The greatness and prosperity of a man is not measured by what a man possesses but by being like Jesus whom God anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power, and who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. It is measured by being like Stephen, a man full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom and faith, who did great wonders and signs among the people. It is measured by like Philip the Apostle about whom the word of God states:

Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.  For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. And there was great joy in that city. Acts 8:5-8

Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” And as He walked by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. Then Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”  They immediately left their nets and followed Him. Mark 1:14-18

There is no sickness, disease, poverty, lack, defeat, failure or unmet need in the kingdom of God. For those who live and walk in the kingdom of God demons and circumstances don’t determine their success and prosperity and well being but God Himself through the presence of the Holy Spirit, which brings both the manifestation of the kingdom of God and the nature of the God who is a good God, a creative God, a miracle working God and a God of restoration. When God’s comes on the scene through the  presence and personality of who the Holy Spirit is miracles come forth, miracles are manifested and God’s creative power is unleashed to change things in and around the live of the believer.

Most Christians are waiting for the kingdom of heaven to happen when they die—“absent from the body and present with the Lord” (2 Cor. 5:8). But Jesus said, “… the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” And from the beginning of the time that Jesus first began to walk on this earth in His earthly ministry and He released the dynamic and the presence of the Holy Spirit, He ushered in the kingdom of heaven. AND IT’S STILL HERE! We don’t have to wait until we die or for another time to experience the kingdom of heaven! We can come into the realm of the kingdom of heaven now by experiencing what Jesus meant when He said: “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matt. 6:10). The kingdom of heaven is the manifestation of the kingdom of God on the earth, as it is in heaven. The reality is this: as it is in heaven means that there is no sorrow, or pain, or sickness because such conditions do not exist in heaven. So we can pray that as it is in heaven so let it be done in the earth.  We can bring ‘as it is in heaven’ to the earth not only in the area of miracles, glory and angelic activity but into our hearts and lives. As a result we will have no more sorrow, no more pain, no more sickness, into the earth and know and experience the comfort of God in all our tribulation. God’s word is unchanging:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.  For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.  We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed- always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So then death is working in us, but life in you. And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak, knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you. For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.
Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,  while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:7-18

Yes, we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power that is  God and not of us. We look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal! We need to focus on what’s eternal because what’s eternal is going to last forever and it’s in the Spirit realm. We bring heaven on earth into our lives. The eternal is the unseen substance of what’s in heaven. In fact, the eternal overrules the material or physical realm, the physical symptoms of the sickness that are in our body, and the physical circumstances of our life. And we do this by saying  “Come Holy Spirit; so as it is in heaven, it will begin to be on earth.”

As we invite the kingdom of God and as we say, “Holy Spirit come,” He brings the realm of God, He brings the activity of God. When the Holy Spirit shows up, a superior order shows up, and it breaks the law of science, it breaks every doctor’s report and what every person has said about you concerning what you can and cannot do. It breaks the law of physics and the realm of the impossible. It begins to open up the impossible! It begins to open up the eternal! It begins to open up the supernatural! People get healed! Sickness, diseases, poverty and lack leave our bodies and leave our lives to the dismay of the unbelievers as  God’s kingdom is manifested in our lives. As it is in Heaven so is not now on earth in our hearts and lives.

Through being born from above means  that we not only  experience life on the earth with our natural senses but we  experience the heavenly realm with our spiritual senses. We can now live in that heavenly realm and to walk in the spirit is to live and believe as it is in heaven so it is to be done on earth (Matt. 6:10). Just like Jesus demonstrated and  manifested the kingdom of God bringing the creative power out of the heavens to override the natural and the impossible in the earth and to release the supernatural of God we can do the same. We can walk in a great  measure of miracles, signs and wonders like Jesus did for we now live by another set of rules. We live by a superior order. We are in the realm of God where miracles are the natural order of things through  the power and anointing of the Holy Ghost. God’s word is unchanging:

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 14:12-14

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.  Therefore, brethren, we are debtors-not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Romans 8:11-14

And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. 1 Corinthians 2:4-5

For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power. 1 Corinthians 4:20

The LORD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation. The voice of rejoicing and salvation Is in the tents of the righteous;  The right hand of the LORD does valiantly.  The right hand of the LORD is exalted;  The right hand of the LORD does valiantly. Psalm 118:14-16

When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion, We were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, And our tongue with singing.  Then they said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.” The LORD has done great things for us, And we are glad. Bring back our captivity, O LORD, As the streams in the South.  Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy.  He who continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with him. Psalm 126:1-6

ISAIAH 11:1  There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.
2     The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
3     His delight is in the fear of the LORD, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;
4     But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.

The Word of God tells us in Isaiah 11:1-5 that Jesus was totally dependent on the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, direct, help and anoint Him, as well as to do the miracles. The power of the Lord was present to heal all (Luke 4:18, 5:17). Everyone who came to Jesus was healed by Him! He had a perfect track record in the area of healing. He unlike others never made an excuse why some were not healed. He didn’t collect the names of people who were healed to show them off or to build a mass mailing list, or see and use them as usable commodities as some Christian ministries do? Jesus’ anointing was unlimited or without measure for the purposes of healing and delivering all that came to Him. And we can all have the same anointing for all that belong to Jesus belongs to the Father, and what belong to the Father belongs to Jesus and what belongs to Jesus belongs to us (John 16; 14-15)

”But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, and the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 2:10-16

True men of God have the Spirit of the Lord resting upon them, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. They judge not by the sight of their eyes, nor decide by the hearing of their ears; but with righteousness they judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth. They strike the earth with the rod of their mouth, and with the breath of their lips they slay the wicked just like Jesus did. Woe to you doesn’t mean something good is going to happen to you?  And that is exactly what Jesus told and cursed the false ones.

Jesus was tapped into the ever increasing, flowing river of constant knowledge and revelation.  True men of God flow in the mind of Christ and minister in the mantles of knowledge. They live and move in the ever increasing, flowing river of constant knowledge and revelation.  Since the Holy Spirit is just as much God as the Father and the Son, true men of God are not afraid to worship the Third “Person” of the Godhead as well as God the Father and God the Son. True men of God who have the strongest anointing have developed an intimate relationship and exchange with Holy Spirit! True men of God love and execute justice just like Jesus did. The bible records:

Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the moneychangers doing business. When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers’ money and overturned the tables. And He said to those who sold doves, “Take these things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!”  Then His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up.” John 2:13-17

True men of God call forth those things that are not as though they were. True men of God ask God to send angels to work in their life and ministry. For true men of God heaven, the second heaven and the realm of the invisible would are real to them. Heavenly glory along with the spirit of prophecy touches their lives and they have divine wisdom and revelation to see and experience God in the reality of the supernatural. True men of God prophetically call forth reinforcements in the angelic realm and bring healing to many in the ministry who are under attack. Angels were important in the ministry of Jesus and visited Him so often at vital times in His life. They ministered to Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane and after His forty-day fast. They imparted divine strength and life to Him.
True men of god honor healing and preach healing and get healing! True men of God honor salvation and preach salvation, and get salvation.  True men of God honor and talk about the supernatural or angels, and miracles happen and angels show up. God’s word is unchanging:

“Bless the Lord, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word.” Psalm 103:20

This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.  The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him,  And delivers them. Psalm 34:6-7
Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions. Psalm 107:19-20

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT

WHAT IS THAT TO YOU?

What is that to you? You follow Me. —John 21:22

When you attend a children’s choir concert, you’re not surprised when the children look everywhere but at the director. They wiggle, squirm, and poke each other. They stand on tiptoes to search for parents in the audience. They raise their hands to wave when they see them. Oh, yes, and they occasionally sing. We smile at their antics. The behavior is cute in children. It’s not so cute when adult choir members don’t watch the conductor. Good music depends on singers who pay attention to the director so they can stay together as they sing.

Christians sometimes are like singers in a children’s choir. Instead of looking at Jesus, the great Conductor of the symphony of life, we are busy squirming or looking at each other or watching the audience.

Jesus admonished Peter for such behavior. After He told him what would be required of him, Peter pointed to John and asked, “What about him?” Jesus answered with a question: “What is that to you? You follow Me” (John 21:22).

Sometimes we are distracted by what others are doing. We think God’s plan for their life is better than His plan for ours. But God’s plan for each of us is the same: Follow Jesus. When we watch Him intently, we’ll not be distracted by God’s plan for anyone else.

My times are in my Father’s hand;
How could I wish or ask for more?
For He who has my pathway planned,
Will guide me till my journey’s o’er.

Every child of God has a special place in His plan.

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE :

Luke 1:37, “For with God nothing shall be impossible.”

What a statement! If we just believed this, how different our lives would be!

From birth we are trained to know our limitations. You can’t have this. Don’t touch that. Don’t put things in your mouth. You can’t touch the fire. On and on the list goes.

As we grow up, it’s actually a sign of maturity to recognize our limitations and learn to live within them. There are limits to everything. It’s a fact of life.

But God has no limits. When we enter into the realm of the supernatural, we have to take off all the limits. We have to renew our minds with the truth that God is not like us. He can do anything.

We have an awesome God whose power is so great that we can’t even comprehend it. He created the universe and it didn’t even tax His ability. Yet many times we find ourselves wondering if our situation is too hard for the Lord. We can’t see how even God can pull us through.

The Lord said to Jeremiah, “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?” (Jer. 32:27) The answer is a resounding NO! The only thing that limits God is our unbelief (Dt. 7:17). Today, let’s honor God by believing that nothing is too difficult for Him.

THE GOSPEL SAVES IN EVERY SITUATION :

Romans 1:16 – For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes…

Each time you hear the gospel of Christ, you are hearing God’s good news for you. And the Bible tells us that the gospel of Christ — the good news that God wants all men to hear — is the very power of God for your salvation, not just from hell, but also from illnesses, financial lack, harm, a failing marriage — every aspect of your life that needs saving!

You may say, “Pastor, I’ve heard the gospel of Christ, but it seems like I am one of those whom the power of God has missed.” My friend, when you hear the gospel of Christ, do you really believe it? You cannot just understand it in your mind. You must know and believe the good news in your heart, and then you will see that it is the power of God for your salvation.

But what is the good news that God wants you to know in your heart, which will release the power and salvation of God into your situation?

“For in it [the good news] the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith…” (Romans 1:17) The good news is that you are the righteousness of God in Christ, which you receive from faith to faith.

This means that this righteousness comes because you have faith in His blood, not your good behavior, to make you righteous. It is from faith to faith, not faith to works, or works to works.

The good news is not preached to show you what is wrong with you. It is preached to show you what is right with you because of Jesus’ work at Calvary, in spite of what is wrong with you!

There is nothing left for you to do to earn God’s blessings for your life. You only need to hear and believe the all-encompassing saving power of the gospel of Christ to heal you of diseases, preserve you from danger, bless your finances and bring well-being to your family.

The world may say that the good news is too good to be true. But for those of us who are the righteousness of God in Christ, the good news is so good because it is indeed true!

Your Dream is Not Dead

Your dream is not dead. It is only sleeping.

Lazarus, a friend of Jesus who lived in Bethany, was terribly ill. (John 11.) When Jesus heard that Lazarus was sick, He said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God” (v. 4). Jesus didn’t panic. He didn’t get into fear, and of course, He didn’t worry. But He said, “Lazarus is asleep, but I will go and wake him up.” (v. 11.)

Even though Jesus knew that Lazarus had died physically, His mind-set was that Lazarus was asleep. But to everyone else, it appeared that Lazarus was dead in the grave and would never live on this earth as a man again. Of course, his sister, Martha, believed that he would be resurrected in the distant future in the resurrection at the last day, but she had no faith that he would live again as her brother.

Then Jesus made a statement that probably seemed strange at the time. He said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live” (v. 25). Martha was caught up in religion and was convinced that Lazarus had already started to decay. Then Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe, you would see the glory of God?” (v. 40). Then they removed the stone and Jesus said, “Lazarus, come forth!” and he who was dead became alive. (vv. 43-44.) They saw the glory of God.

Your dream may appear dead and even your religious friends may tell you that it has already begun to decay. In fact, when you talk about your dream, to some people it may “stinketh.” (v. 39 KJV). But God is the God of the living. His plan for your life has not changed. In the same way Jesus spoke to Martha, God is saying to you today, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”

Your God-given dream is not dead. It is only sleeping. Apply your faith to your dream and God will resurrect it into new life. It doesn’t matter how things look or what others say. Speak God’s promise into your dead dream, and it will live.

Years ago, it was prophesied that this is the time when the glory of God would be manifested. In order for Martha to see the glory of God, she had to add belief to the promise. Do not allow circumstances, people, or presumed defeat to derail you from believing. Believe in your God-given dream and you will see the manifested glory of God.

LOOK STRAIGHT AHEAD

Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you – Proverbs 4:25, NIV

What are you looking at today? Not in the natural, but with your spiritual eyes. In other words, what is in the forefront of your mind and in your heart? Are you constantly dwelling on your problems or things that have happened in your past?

In the natural, you will move in the direction that your eyes are looking. In the spiritual, it works the same way. Whatever you focus your mind and heart on, you will move toward. That’s why today’s verse tells us to look straight ahead. If you are constantly dwelling on your problems or things in your past, wondering “what if,” then you will stay right where you are. But if you choose to forgive and release the past, then you can focus on what is ahead of you, and you’ll begin to move forward.

God doesn’t want you to live in the past. He wants you to keep growing and moving forward. Make the decision to meditate on His goodness and focus on His promises. Look straight ahead so you can see His blessing and move forward into the life of victory He has promised you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, today I set my focus on You. I choose to forget the past by forgiving others so that I can look straight ahead to Your promises. I ask that You direct my heart on the path of life that You have for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.

YOU MATTER TO GOD!

John 10:3 – … he calls his own sheep by name…

Do you sometimes feel like you are just a face in a crowd or a number in a system? You are identified by your social security number. Even when you see the doctor, you are called by your queue number. If you feel depersonalized and dehumanized, that is exactly how the devil wants you to feel — that you do not matter much to anyone, especially to God.

But you do matter to God! He calls you by name. He knows exactly what you are going through and where you are hurting. He sees you and cares for you, just as He cared for the people when He first walked on earth.

My friend, He will do for you what He did for the woman in Samaria. There was a shorter route from Judea to Galilee, but the Bible says that “He needed to go through Samaria”. (John 4:4) In other words, Jesus deliberately took a longer route, so that He could stop by Samaria to speak to the woman who had been searching for something in her life to satisfy her.

This woman had had five husbands and the man she was living with was not her husband. Clearly, things had not been going right in her life. She was probably looking for answers and fulfillment, and must have felt ashamed about her failed marriages and current lifestyle.

Yet, in spite of all this, she mattered to Jesus! He needed to go to her to minister to her. And indeed, after she met Jesus, the perfect Man, she was transformed. She was no longer ashamed, and went into the city to tell the people about Him. (John 4:28–29)

Beloved, Jesus came a long way from heaven for you. You certainly matter to Him. He came to give you life and life more abundantly. (John 10:10) You are not just a face in a crowd or a number. No, He knows you by name and has a personal love for you. And in spite of the mess which you might be in, He wants to meet your every need and make your life beautiful!

When Joseph was thrown into the pit by his brothers, he believed that God was with him. When Joseph was sold as a slave and ended up in Potiphar’s house, he believed that God was with him. When Joseph was accused of a crime that he didn’t commit and thrown into prison, he still believed that God was with him!

Beloved, if you are going through a tough situation or a trial today, don’t get bitter and don’t give up. Believe that God is with you and be conscious of His loving presence with you!

As God came through for Joseph and promoted him from the pit to the palace, His unmerited favor is also at work in your situation causing all things to work out for your good!

In fact, one of our primary concerns in releasing these reviews has been that we’ll be misperceived as turning our guns on our own guys if we say anything corrective. We’re not shooting at our comrade in arms here. Our intent is constructive, not destructive.”  Mark Dever, IX Marks

The point that these people do not get is that we are supposed to be living an “Holy Spirit Driven Life”.  People like Piper & Denver do not see the important place of the Work of Grace.  They exclude the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the proof of the “Signs” following which prove the authenticity of the work of Jesus Christ.  They have excluded the Holy Spirit from being Born Again, as Jesus said, “of water and the Spirit” (Jn. 3: 3, 5, 7).  This means that there are two component parts of being “born again” or more accurately “born from above”.  The first is repentance for sin which is proven by water baptism.  The second is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit which is demonstrated, as on the Day of Pentecost, as proven by the receiving of a “new language” (Mk. 16: 17) or as Paul says, “other national languages” which the Holy Spirit uses in God’s unique New Communications System which gives people amongst other things “self control” over our tongues so that blessing and cursing no longer can occur.

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 12: 6 – 8; 1 Cor. 12: 8 – 10) are excluded or dismissed as natural talents and abilities.  The Greek Word for the Gifts of the Holy Spirit is “charisma” singular and “charismata” plural.  The “charis” part means that they are “grace gift” or “grace gifts”.  A man who taught at the University of Philadelphia wrote that when the churches stopped using and allowing and encouraging the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, they cut of God’s Grace from the churches.  Most churches teach wrongly, that whenever a person invites Jesus to be their Saviour that the person/people also receive the Holy Spirit.  This was not true on the Day of Pentecost when 120 people who sins had been forgiven received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in a new language for every one of them.  This second experience is the norm for the Book of Acts.  The only time when people received the Holy Spirit was when Peter preached in the House of Cornelius the Centurion when they all believed and received the Holy Spirit at the same time (Acts 10: 44 – 48).

Rick Warren’s books and teaching are about works righteousness or living by his new version of law.  He like so many others have excluded the authentic work of Grace through the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. The program has been a dismal failure in the Churches that have bought into the Non-Biblical Program.   I have a ministry in which I do Holy Spirit Seminars teaching people how to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and how to use the 15 Gifts of the Holy Spirit in their churches as they are distributed by the Holy Spirit, one at a time (1 Cor. 12: 11).  Then, every church service becomes one of “Signs, Wonders & Miracles”.  Thanks to Walter Kambulow who referred a woman to me, from West Virginia, who had been seeking the Baptism of the Holy Spirit for 33 years, I was able to pray with her on the telephone and she received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.  Her persistence resulted in the Promise of Jesus being fulfilled in her life (Lk. 18: 1 – 8).

Church services are supposed to be like what Paul describes in 1 Cor. 14: 26f.  If not, then they are then they are being done “indecently and out of order” because Paul describes what is supposed to be “done decently and in order” (1 Cor. 14: 40).  All of these so called “New Paradigms” for the Church promise success but end up in failure.  The Only Paradigm for Worship and Ministry is found in the Book called, “The New Testament” in a form of worship which Jesus described when talking to the Samaritan woman at the Well (Jn. 4: 21, 23).  He said, “Woman believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father……But the hour is coming and now is, when the true worshippers  will worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth, for such the Father seeks to worship him.”  Jesus redefined how worship was and is supposed to be:  in Spirit and in Truth.  And that is what Paul is primarily describing in 1 Cor. 12 – 14.

Most so-called worship today in most churches and denominations are not being carried out in Spirit and in Truth.  In fact, they ignore and forbid the work and Gifts of the Holy Spirit in their church services and meetings.  The Clergy have, so to speak, gone back to the bad worship in Jerusalem and on the Samaritan mountain where they had their own worship services done in their own wisdom.  They mistakenly think that worship is their liturgies and buildings when Jesus and Paul redefined and removed real worship from the Temple in Jerusalem and the Synagogues when he wrote, “Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you.  If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him.  For God’s temple is holy, and that temple you are (1 Cor. 3: 16 – 17).  And that is the reason why Jesus started His Church in His own home (Mark 2: 2) and the early church met in the homes of believers (Acts 2: 46; 5: 42; 20: 20; Rom. 16: 5; 1 Cor. 16: 19; Col. 4: 15, and many more). This is the reason why people who read the New Testament today cannot find churches where there are the legitimate “Signs, Wonders & Miracles” found in the New Testament.

The problem is that people who do not know their Greek at all and who also do not read their English Bible Translations at all, connecting the chapters and verses.  When Paul wrote “but when the perfect (end: telieos;  having attained the end or purpose, complete, perfect) comes, the imperfect will pass away” (1 Cor. 13: 10).  He also tells us when this will happen in 1 Cor. 15: 24, where he writes, “”Then comes the end (telos, from the verb teleo: future tense, meaning to bring to an end, finish, goal, to the end or goal), when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father destroying every rule and every authority and power.”  The Gifts of the Holy Spirit will not pass away until the Resurrection of all the dead occurs (1 Cor. 15: 12 – 24).   The perfect end will not have occurred until the Resurrection from the dead and we go to the New Heaven.  This is not very difficult for anybody to understand unless they are in rebellion against God and do not wish to have the Baptism of Jesus which is called “The Baptism of the Holy Spirit” with proof of the “signs following” (Mk. 16: 17 – 18) which confirms our preaching.  This also necessitates rewriting or amending what Jesus said to Nicodemus: “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God” (Jn. 3: 5).  They would have to erase “of the Spirit” which they do in fact because when a person has received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, as happened on the Day of Pentecost they were all speaking in tongues”.  This is what I experienced yesterday when we saw over 300+ people receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.  All of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 12: 6 – 8 ; 1 Cor. 12: 8 – 10) are still being distributed by the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 12: 11) as they have been done continuously throughout the history of the Christian Church.  As one Baptist historian pointed out, the signs, wonders and miracles have been removed from the history of the Church by historians who do not and did not believe in signs, wonders and miracles.  When given the opportunity to study at a Seminary which has a excellent library, the truth is found in their books.  There has never been a time in history when the Holy Spirit stopped distributing the Gifts of the Holy Spirit just as there has never been a time in history when people have stopped refusing to receive the Holy Spirit and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit (Lk. 5: 38 – 39).  This is not too difficult to understand except by people who do not want Jesus to be their Lord.

Greek meaning of “Brethren”

Paul told us, in order to correct the idea left over from Jewish teaching and his Pharisaic background, about women:  “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.  If you belong to Christ, then you are Adam’s sewed, and heirs according to promise” (Gal. 3: 28 – 29).  It is obvious that Romans 16: 15 especially applies to both men and women because in Romans 16: 1 – 16 Paul’s greetings were for both men and women as listed by him.  All believers both men and women are our “brethren”.

There has been a prejudice carried on against women mostly because of the political systems which were followed and copied by churches.  Even in the translations of most of the translations today that wrong attitude toward women has been mistranslated.  For instance, when Paul is discussing Christian Marriage, he writes as usually translated, “Be subject to one another out of your reverence for Christ” (Eph. 5: 21).  He is speaking to both husbands and wives.  However, the Greek verb here is not a commandment, it is a call/invitation to both husbands and wives to volunteer to minister/serve each other.  If  you know Greek Grammar it is in the present middle indicative which means that the people who are being addressed have to voluntarily choose to what is being suggested to them.  In the next verse, usually translated, “Wives be subject to your husbands, as to the Lord” (Eph. 5: 22).  In Greek, it does not say be subject to your husbands.” It says, “The wives belong to the husbands as to the Lord.”  This is a warning that our wives belong to Jesus and we should treat them in the same manner as all of his people as He does.  In verse 5: 24, writes, “But as the church (submits) voluntarily serves/ministers to Jesus so also wives should voluntarily minister to their husbands.”

The Apostle Paul, contrary to most public opinion carried on in church traditions was a married man.  He mentioned this when he wrote to the Corinthian Church, “Do we not have the right to be accompanied by a wife as the other apostles and the brothers of the Lord and Cephas?” (1 Cor. 9: 5). He wrote this because he and Barnabas travelled with their wives just as the other apostles did.

As a Pharisee, it was one of their rules that a single man was not observed to be able to be given authority.  Authority was given only to married men who had at least one son which proved that he was blessed by God.  No sons were seen as no blessing of God.  This is reflected in Paul’s statement, when he writes, “The saying is sure: If anyone aspires to the office of bishop (overseer)(3: 1)……He  must manage his own house well, exercising leadership over (supervising) his own house well having children submissive with proper respect.”  “But if anyone does not know how to supervise/manage his own house how can he care for of God’s church” (3: 5).

Paul mentions women who were preachers of the Gospel, on the Day of Pentecost women were amongst the 120 people who received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as fulfillment of prophecy of Joel, evangelists, prophets, gave leadership in house churches, Junias who was an apostle and who was imprisoned with Paul and her husband.  Salvation, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, receiving the 15 Gifts of the Holy Spirit are given to both men and women as well as the proof of the Signs Following.  The only restrictions on women are those who wrongfully and sinfully try to hamper or prevent them from serving Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit to do what they have been called to fulfill in the Church of Jesus Christ.  They have the same responsibility to identify to the church of Jesus Christ locally as well as internationally those who are in leadership who sin and think that we/they should not identify the false teachers, prophets, pastors, evangelists, apostles.  They like to use the verse which says, “Touch not my anointed, and do my prophets no wrong” (Ps. 105: 15) which is talking about faithful, reliable people who are not using verses of Scriptures to justify their sin.

King David thought that he had committed the “perfect crime” until the prophet Nathan pointed his finger at him and said, “You are the man” (2 Sam. 12: 7).  Whenever, we do not listen to the warnings of the Holy Spirit and go ahead and sin, the Holy Spirit will send somebody to say to us, “You are the man.”  Every Christian has a responsibility to expose sin in leadership as well as those who are not in leadership.  Paul says, “Brethren if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual  should restore him in a spirit of gentleness” (Gal. 6: 1).  Peter warns us in the whole of 2 Peter, Chapter 2  about what is the final judgment of such people who think that they can sin without judgment.  The last verse says, “It has happened to them according to the true proverb, The dog turns back to his own vomit, and the sow is washed only to mire in the mud” (2: 22).  Jesus warns that such people that he can remove “blot  his name out of the book of life; I will confess his name before my Father and his angels” (Rev. 3: 5).  In other words, they can lose their salvation.  Hebrews warns, “It is impossible to restore again to repentance those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they then commit apostasy, since they crucify the Son of God on their own account and hold him up to contempt.  For land which has drunk the rain that often falls upon it, and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God.  But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed; its end it to be burned” (Heb. 6: 4 – 8).

I’m afraid that this all applies to people like Rick Warren and others who have compromised the Gospel and think that they can sin without being accountable.   Too often, because Christian men will not deal with leaders’ sin, the Holy Spirit will use Christian women to do so.  One woman who was accused of taking a position of leadership and ministry by some male pastors, responded by say, “I asked the Lord, ‘Why have you chosen me to do this ministry?  And, He said, ‘Because no man would take the job.”
