Take Heed, Beware Of The Leaven?

Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, and they did not have more than one loaf with them in the boat.  Then He charged them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”  And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “It is because we have no bread.”   But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “Why do you reason because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart still hardened?  “Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?  “When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you take up?” They said to Him, “Twelve.”  “Also, when I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of fragments did you take up?” And they said, “Seven.”  So He said to them, “How is it you do not understand?” Mark 8:14-19

The American Heritage Dictionary defines ‘leaven’ as:

leav·en n. 1. An agent, such as yeast, that causes batter or dough to rise, especially by fermentation. 2. An element, influence, or agent that works subtly to lighten, enliven, or modify a whole.

So we see that leaven is an element, influence, or agent that works subtly to lighten, enliven, or modify a whole, and that includes our thinking and our doctrines. Jesus warned us that religious leaders of His day and our day could with a little bit of leaven subtly modify the Word of God to make it useless to us! As a result many become deceived and destroyed for not only lack of knowledge but wrong knowledge. God’s word is unchanging:

“For false Christ’s and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. (Matthew 24:24)

Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,  speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.  For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving;  for it is sanctified by the Word of God and prayer. 1 Timothy 4:1-5

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:  For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,  unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,  traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,  having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!  For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,  always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 2 Timothy 3:1-7

Yes, we are to turn away from those who have departed from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,  speaking lies in hypocrisy and now preach heresies, things  contrary to the Word of God.  Yes, we are to turn away from those  having a form of godliness but deny its power,  always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth even if they are pastors and preachers.

JOHN WARWICK MONTGOMERY [i] is considered by many to be the foremost living apologist for biblical Christianity. A renaissance scholar with a flair for controversy, he lives in France, England and the United States. His international activities have brought him into personal contact with some of the most exciting events of our time: not only was he in China In June 1989, but he was In Fiji during its 1987 bloodless revolution, was involved in assisting East Germans to escape during the time of the Berlin Wall, and was in Paris during the ‘days of May’ 1968. Dr. Montgomery is the author of more than forty books in five languages. He holds ten earned degrees, Including a Master of Philosophy in Law from the University of Essex, England, a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, a Doctorate of the University in Protestant Theology from the University of Strasbourg, France, and the higher doctorate (LL.D.) from Cardiff University, Wales. He is an ordained Lutheran clergyman, an English barrister, and is admitted to practise as a lawyer before the Supreme Court of the United States and inscrit au Barreau de Strasbourg, France. He obtained acquittals for the ‘Athens 3’ missionaries on charges of proselytism at the Greek Court of Appeals in 1986 and won the leading religious liberty cases of Larissis v. Greece and Bessarabian Orthodox Church v. Moldova before the European Court of Human Rights. As a result of his victory in the latter case, he was presented with the Patriarch’s Medal by the Patriarch of the Roumanian Orthodox Church (October, 2003).

Dr. Montgomery is author of over one hundred scholarly journal articles and more than forty books in English, French, Spanish and German. He is internationally regarded both as a theologian (his debates with the late Bishop James Pike, death-of-God advocate Thomas Altizer, and situation-ethicist Joseph Fletcher are historic) and as a lawyer (barrister-at-law of the Middle Temple and Lincoln’s Inn, England; member of the California, Virginia, Washington State, and District of Columbia Bars and the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States). He is one of only six persons to have received the Diploma of the International Institute of Human Rights cum laude, and was the Institute’s Director of Studies from 1979 to 1981.[ii]

If we examine how John W. Montgomery  handled a false prophet Bishop James A. Pike compared to Southern Baptist Pastor and Evangelist Billy Graham we will be surprised.  For the record in his 1959 San Francisco Crusade, Billy Graham honored the notorious liberal Bishop James A. Pike by having him lead in prayer. Graham had attended Pike’s consecration at San Francisco’s Grace Cathedral on May 15, 1958. [iii] (Pike would also have been involved in Graham’s 1957 New York Crusade, as he was the dean of the extremely modernistic Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York from 1952 to 1958. )

James Pike was a brilliant man, raised as a Roman Catholic and trained as a lawyer. He became an Episcopalian after the war and pursued ordination in the Episcopal Church, eventually becoming dean of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City in 1952. In 1958 he was elected Bishop Coadjutor of the Diocese of California, and his election narrowly received confirmation because he had divorced and re-married (this was before episcopal permission for re-marriage was allowed). He became known more and more for outspoken views on the irrelevance of classical doctrines such as the Trinity and the virginal conception of Jesus.

Pike’s mediagenic personality and brilliant arguments made him the darling of some and the devil of others. His personal life gradually came apart when his son committed suicide in 1966. Pike started a highly public quest to contact his son through spiritualism. He divorced and re-married again. Many people who knew him have told me they believe he began a slide into manic depression.[iv]

Yet, Pike was a rank, unbelieving Modernist, a drunkard, an adulterer. He denied the Trinity and refused to state the traditional benediction, “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, Amen!” He abbreviated this to “In the name of God, Amen!” Three times Pike was brought up on heresy charges in the Episcopal Church. In an article in Look magazine Pike stated that he did not believe the fundamentals of the faith. In a pastoral letter that was to be read in all the Episcopal Churches of his diocese, Pike stated that “religious myth is one of the avenues of faith and has an important place in the communication of the Gospel.” He spoke of the “myth of the Garden of Eden.” He said, “The virgin birth… is a myth which churchmen should be free to accept or reject.” In an article in Christian Century, Dec. 21, 1960,  Pike declared that he no longer believed the doctrines stated in the Apostles’ Creed. The same month that article appeared Graham again joined Pike at his Grace Cathedral for a Christian Men’s Assembly sponsored by the National Council of Churches. Three times Pike was picked up by San Francisco police while he was wandering around in a drunken, confused state late at night. He spent four years in intensive psychoanalysis. Pike was twice divorced, thrice married, and had at least three mistresses. One of his mistresses committed suicide; one of his daughters attempted suicide. After his eldest son committed suicide in 1966 at age 20, Pike got deeply involved in the occult in an attempt to communicate with the deceased.

In 1967, Pike died from a 70-foot fall in a remote canyon in the Israeli desert near the Dead Sea. His maggot infested body was found five days later. The 56-year-old theologian had gotten lost in the desert while on an extended honeymoon with his 31-year-old third wife. A biography about Pike noted that “never before in the history of the Episcopal Church had a Solemn Requiem Mass been offered for a bishop in the presence of three surviving wives” [v]

John W. Montgomery actions with Bishop Pike were different that that of Billy Graham. In the SIXTIES, during the “God is dead” movement, Dr. John W. Montgomery came into prominence. He was and is a renowned Biblical scholar with numerous degrees and an obvious brilliant mind, and a “who’s who” in America at that time. He was invited to openly debate Bishop Pike, on a Chicago University Campus, which was televised. He literally tore the Bishop’s theology apart.  His critics were upset and protested at how he destroyed Bishop Pike during the debate. Even though God’s word states that they should be destroyed:

He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth,  And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. Isaiah 11:4

But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 Peter 2:1

I was to have the privilege of meeting Dr. John Montgomery when he came to our university for a week of Evangelism. It was sponsored by the university’s Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship club where I was on the executive committee. I personally  asked John the following question, “As a Christian how could you do what you did to Bishop Pike?” He answered, “Easily, and I would gladly do it again to anyone who was a false prophet and had hurt and deceived so many people.”

Jesus didn’t bless the religious and political leaders of His day but rather He cursed them. “Woe to you” doesn’t mean “something good is going to happen to you?” God’s word is unchanging about deceived religious leaders of our day such Jim Bakker, Henry J. Lyons  and Billy Graham  who called themselves—men of God:

“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.  “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves. Matthew 23:13-15

A real Man of God doesn’t lie, steal, is not cowardly or fearful, because he is truthful, bold and full of courage. These things are done by those who belong to the other family and not to God’s family. A real man of God doesn’t support rapists, liars and thieves or have them as His friends.

Those who walk in the flesh will demonstrate the works of the flesh  adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like. Those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God even if their name is Ned Graham, the son of Billy Graham.  Here are the modernists and apostates with whom Billy Graham has fellowshipped, and used in his crusades:

The Lord Jesus said, ‘If ye love Me, keep My commandments’. (John 14:15). God has said, ‘To the law and to the testimony if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them’. (Isa 8:20).  The scriptures are very clear about not having fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them  (Ephesians 5:11).  God’s word is very clear as to how we are to handle and deal with false prophets and those who support them:

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.  Corinthians 6:14-18

Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.  If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him;  for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds. 2 John 1:9-11

But we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which he received from us. 2 Thessalonians 3:6

“Ephraim is joined to idols,  Let him alone. Their drink is rebellion,  They commit harlotry continually.  Her rulers dearly love dishonor. Hosea 4:17-18

If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness,  he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions,  useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself. 1 Timothy 6:3-5

Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. Romans 16:17

And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. Revelation 18:4

It is a fact that many of God’s people have received plagues of the judgments of others because they shared in the sins of others just like Oral Roberts did when he supported and defended Jim Bakker. In an interview on “The Larry King Show,” Swaggart claimed that Bakker’s downfall represented a “very glad day, because this cancer has been excised that I feel has caused the body of Christ untold reproach. ‘ [vi] These comments aroused Oral Roberts’s ire, and he blasted Swaggart while defending Bakker. Foolish Oral Roberts forgave and defended Jim Bakker for something that was not forgivable. God does not forgive those who rob, rape and murder in the house of God as Eli and his two sons were not forgiven. Something that is in the very bible that they sometime use and is true.

Oral Roberts forgave his friend, Jim Bakker, for robbing and raping in the house of God. Roberts made large contributions to the Praise the Lord (PTL) ministry of Jim and Tammy Bakker when they fell into hard times during the 1987 scandal. (Sara Diamond, Spiritual Warfare (Boston, MA: South End Press, 1989). Then he wondered why the City of Faith of faith was not finished, the law school was not accredited and ORU incurred a 40 million dollar debt.

– Falwell called Bakker a liar, an embezzler and sexual deviate. He fired Bakker’s entire staff when he took over Praise the Lord show. Falwell bankrupted the PTL Club calling Bakker “the greatest scab and cancer on the face of Christianity in two thousand years of church history”

But Jim Bakker won’t have to pay $120 million to former followers who bought “partnerships” in his PTL tele-ministry. A jury in North Carolina on July 23, 1996 threw out a class action suit brought on behalf of more than 160,000 onetime believers who paid as much as $7,000 each in the ’80s to join Jim and Tammy Faye in holy larceny.

However the Internal Revenue Service says Bakker and Messner owe personal income taxes from the 1980s when they were building their Praise The Lord empire reported the Charlotte Observer. The IRS assessed the taxes after revoking the PTL ministry’s nonprofit status, said Roe Messner, Tammy Faye’s husband since 1993.

Tammy Faye Messner new husband said Jim Bakker and his former wife didn’t want to talk about the tax issues. “We don’t want to stir the pot,” Messner said. He said the original tax amount was about $500,000. Penalties and interest account for the rest of the bill. The notices reinstating the liens list “James O. and Tamara F. Bakker” as owing $3 million.

Jim Bakker nor the Assembly of God with whom he was ordained have never publicly discussed or dealt with the fact that Jim Bakker was Bi-sexual or that his real lover was a man! Although a contrite Jim Bakker returned to his childhood church to ask forgiveness, he never talked about David Taggart his great male lover! Bakker, the founder on the now non existent PTL Club and Village, has downplayed the role of the bisexual evangelist John Wesley Fletcher, who arranged his tryst with Jessica Hahn. He hardly talks about James and David Taggart, the brothers who many claim controlled Bakker in his final PTL years Fletcher was bitter and said Bakker had failed to keep promises and had forsaken him during tough times. Fletcher stated during the “Pearlygate” media storm that he, too, had been sexually involved with bisexual Bakker, reported Christianity Today.  [vii]

The Bakkers declined to meet their accusers. Jerry Falwell offered them that opportunity; so did the elders of the Assemblies of God, which conducted their own inquiry. When Bakker declined to appear before his district presbytery to face charges, the Assemblies of God dismissed him for “conduct unbecoming to a minister.” Reverend G. Raymond Carlson, general superintendent of the church, said the “alleged misconduct involving bisexual activity” weighed heavily in the decision to unfrock Bakker.  Carlson noted further that the word alleged was used because Bakker did not wish to defend himself.

For many people, allegations of misappropriating PTL resources for their own personal use and the payment of huge salaries and bonuses were far more serious charges than the allegations of sexual misconduct.

The Bakkers had appointed a rubber-stamp board of directors to oversee their management practices. In return for acquiescing to Jim and Tammy’s whims, several of these board members received tens of thousands of dollars in fees, bonuses, and contributions to their own projects.

In 1986 the Bakkers were paid $1.9 million; since 1984, a total of $4.8 million had been paid to them. In addition, PTL monies were used for expensive homes, a palatial suite at the Heritage Grand Hotel, automobiles, lavish wardrobes, vacations, and parties.

The Bakkers’ closest associates were privy to their high living at the expense of PTL partners. They, too, were well paid. Reverend Richard Dortch, the Assemblies of God minister who many thought had brought some order and organization to the rapidly growing Heritage USA operations, was paid $240,000 in 1985 and $350,000 in 1986. He received approximately $270,000 during the first three months of 1987 before Falwell sacked him. David Taggart, a twenty-nine-year-old “personal aide” to Bakker, received $360,000 in 1986; Jim Bakker’s personal secretary received $160,000.

And then there were “consultants.” James Taggart, interior decorator and David Taggart’s brother, was paid $10,000 a month, but, according to the new PTL management, he had performed no services “for months.”‘ Peter B. Teeley, press secretary to George Bush until 1984, was paid $120,000 for eighteen months to serve as a Washington “liaison”; apparently there were no written records of any services performed. What a mouthful Walt – I agree with you in theory – but you lift up the name of John Warlike Montgomery – a man who was driven out of his own ministry due to his abuse of his staff and his family. I was his secretary back in 1986-87 and watched it all unfold. He secretly divorced his wife while he was living with her by signer her name to the divorce papers and she found out she was divorced when she found the papers and had it overturned for fraud. Then he divorced her legally married another woman who he tries to pass off as his original wife. So much could be said – but all I can say is you’re lifting up a wolf without knowing it.

I now all about him – and apparently more than you. I knew him close and personal – don’t promote him on my facebook. Walter Martin used to say of him, “John Montgomery is the leading Christian scholar alive today, and he’d be alright if he would just get born again.” He is also a drunk!

So you show me Walt – where it is ok for a Christian leader to divorce his Christian wife and mother of his children and marry someone else and still be in leadership.

Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

You have to be stupid to ignore the importance of the word “false” in the New Testament including false witness, false prophets, false brethren, false apostles, false christs, and false ministers! But it seems many in the body of Christ are stupid and don’t take seriously Jesus Christ admonition  Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

One of the most common deceptions that Christians fall into is the idea is that because a person has the title of clergy that person is a man of God and tells the truth! What a lie from the pits of hell!

James Pike was a brilliant man, raised as a Roman Catholic and trained as a lawyer. He became an Episcopalian after the war and pursued ordination in the Episcopal Church, eventually becoming dean of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City in 1952. In 1958 he was elected Bishop Coadjutor of the Diocese of California, and his election narrowly received confirmation because he had divorced and re-married (this was before episcopal permission for re-marriage was allowed). He became known more and more for outspoken views on the irrelevance of classical doctrines such as the Trinity and the virginal conception of Jesus.

Pike’s mediagenic personality and brilliant arguments made him the darling of some and the devil of others. His personal life gradually came apart when his son committed suicide in 1966. Pike started a highly public quest to contact his son through spiritualism. He divorced and re-married again. Many people who knew him have told me they believe he began a slide into manic depression.

Yet, Pike was a rank, unbelieving Modernist, a drunkard, an adulterer. He denied the Trinity and refused to state the traditional benediction, “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, Amen!” He abbreviated this to “In the name of God, Amen!” Three times Pike was brought up on heresy charges in the Episcopal Church. In an article in Look magazine Pike stated that he did not believe the fundamentals of the faith. In a pastoral letter that was to be read in all the Episcopal Churches of his diocese, Pike stated that “religious myth is one of the avenues of faith and has an important place in the communication of the Gospel.” He spoke of the “myth of the Garden of Eden.” He said, “The virgin birth… is a myth which churchmen should be free to accept or reject.” In an article in Christian Century, Dec. 21, 1960,  Pike declared that he no longer believed the doctrines stated in the Apostles’ Creed. The same month that article appeared Graham again joined Pike at his Grace Cathedral for a Christian Men’s Assembly sponsored by the National Council of Churches. Three times Pike was picked up by San Francisco police while he was wandering around in a drunken, confused state late at night. He spent four years in intensive psychoanalysis. Pike was twice divorced, thrice married, and had at least three mistresses. One of his mistresses committed suicide; one of his daughters attempted suicide. After his eldest son committed suicide in 1966 at age 20, Pike got deeply involved in the occult in an attempt to communicate with the deceased.

In 1967, Pike died from a 70-foot fall in a remote canyon in the Israeli desert near the Dead Sea. His maggot infested body was found five days later. The 56-year-old theologian had gotten lost in the desert while on an extended honeymoon with his 31-year-old third wife. A biography about Pike noted that “never before in the history of the Episcopal Church had a Solemn Requiem Mass been offered for a bishop in the presence of three surviving wives”

John W. Montgomery ,the author of more than forty books in five languages, who holds ten earned degrees, Including a Master of Philosophy in Law from the University of Essex, England, a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, a Doctorate of the University in Protestant Theology from the University of Strasbourg, France, and the higher doctorate (LL.D.) from Cardiff University, Wales,  Lutheran clergyman, an English barrister, actions with Bishop Pike were different than that of Billy Graham. In the SIXTIES, during the “God is dead” movement, Dr. John W. Montgomery came into prominence.

Montogmery  was and is a renowned Biblical scholar with numerous degrees and an obvious brilliant mind, and a “who’s who” in America at that time. He was invited to openly debate Bishop Pike, on a Chicago University Campus, which was televised. He literally tore the Bishop’s theology apart.  His critics were upset and protested at how he destroyed Bishop Pike during the debate. Even though God’s word states that they should be destroyed:

He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth,  And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. Isaiah 11:4

But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 Peter 2:1

In February 2003, the media reported that The Rev. E.V. Hill, longtime pastor of the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles and ardent supporter of lying, thieving, adulterous Dr. Henry J. Lyons is dead!  Hill died yesterday after a bout with pneumonia and other undisclosed medical problems.

Hill was a leader in the National Baptist Convention, the nation’s largest grouping of black churches, and in 1998 he defended the denomination’s disgraced president, the Rev. Henry Lyons, who was found guilty of racketeering. Years earlier, Hill stood by televangelists Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart, both of whom were involved in sex scandals.

Hill, 69, was hospitalized nearly two weeks ago and was listed in critical condition and in intensive care.

A force in the National Baptist Convention and a speaker at rallies around the country sponsored by Promise Keepers, an evangelical men’s ministry, Hill stood out among prominent African American pastors in championing conservative political causes. He had been an adviser to several prominent Republicans including President Reagan.

In 1999, Hill was an unsuccessful candidate for the presidency of the National Baptist Convention, one of the nation’s largest African American Christian denominations. It was same convention about which the Philadelphia Inquirer reported on August 29, 2002 “Once the nation’s largest and most prestigious African American religious denomination, the National Baptist Convention USA was taken over in the 1950s by leaders who often put their own financial interests ahead of the membership.”

Dr. Hill was on the Billy Graham Association board of directors, the board of the Los Angeles Urban League, the Los Angeles NAACP and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. He endorsed the 1984 candidacy of the Rev. Jesse Jackson for the Democratic nomination.

At the annual meeting of the National Baptist Convention in 1998, the Rev. Henry Lyons of St. Petersburg, admitted to an “inappropriate relationship” – an increasingly popular euphemism for adultery – with a woman employed by the nation’s largest black church group. He said he was sorry and asked for forgiveness and they forgave him.

Rev E.V. Hill led the charge of corrupt ones to support his very dear friend Rev. Henry J. Lyons no matter what. As a result the Leaders of the National Baptist Convention USA stood by President Henry Lyons, who had been indicted for racketeering and grand theft and supported Dr. Lyons in every aspect of his legal endeavors that included money.

An internal church probe directed by pastor E.V. Hill determined that Lyons did not take any of the denomination’s funds, and that any money he received included honorariums and fees the church agreed to pay him. Hill promised to help Lyons with his legal bills even though Prosecutors contend that Lyons diverted millions of dollars in church funds to finance a lavish lifestyle. But the courts had a different opinion about Lyons and his lying and thievery.

Rev. Henry Lyons peccadilloes and the grand theft and racketeering convictions  by State of Florida and the Government of United States against him didn’t stop Rev. Hill from supporting his friend for birds of feather stick together.

Lyons resigned as head of the convention after pleading guilty to five federal counts. He served a 5 1/2-year state prison term and a concurrent 4 1/2-year federal sentence.

He was a man called by others as Rev. Hanky-Panky who was a personal friend of Bill Clinton.  A man who sought spiritual solace in the bathtub smoking marijuana after a hard day of playing patty-cake with Nigerian dictators and the financial stewardship of the NBC including secret bank accounts, forged signatures, missing files and hushed-up lobbying work on behalf of those wacky, zany Nigerian scamps.

A man who made a $200,000 rip-off of an Anti-Defamation League of B’nai Brith donation, which found its way into his pockets instead of burned out Baptist churches where it was originally intended.  A man whose whole hand picked board of the National Baptist Convention refused to see the facts about Lyons and forgave him unanimously and unilaterally. So that they could also be forgiven if caught doing the same thing in the pattern of President Oral Roberts who forgave Jim Bakker for what was not forgivable.

Lyons had been the focus of state and federal criminal investigations since the summer of 1997 when his wife set fire to a $700,000 waterfront house he owned on Tierra Verde with a former convention employee, a convicted embezzler and his alleged lover.  The fire triggered revelation about secret bank accounts and large commissions on convention business deals and deductions concerning his total gross salary.

“Born Again” Senior Pastor E. V. Hill did not accept Lyons guilty verdict charging that jury was racist. Later lying Lyons approved the National Baptist Convention advertisement which labeled Florida `the most racist state” in the union and called for racial unrest in the black community of St. Petersburg, the same community rocked by two riots in late 1996.

Lyons was convicted in February 1999 of swindling more than $4 million from companies that wanted to market life insurance, credit cards and cemetery plots to his convention members.  Prosecutors said Lyons padded the convention’s mailing list with names randomly selected from phone books across the country. Even a grand dragon of the Ku Klux Klan was on the list. He pleaded guilty to federal charges of tax evasion, fraudulent activities and lying to officials.

In his sentencing, Judge Schaeffer had ordered Lyons to pay $2.5 million in restitution to the companies who bought his phony mailing lists and to pay $97,000 for the cost of the state probe into his dealings.

Lyons, who has tested positive for exposure to tuberculosis, “can be treated in prison,” Pasco-Pinellas Circuit Judge Susan Schaeffer told about a dozen of his supporters. “Prison is a place that brings on illnesses, a place where you are going to be among murderers, thugs and thieves,” the judge said. “There isn’t anything about it that’s supposed to be fun.” Schaeffer did not mince words during an almost half-hour long oral ruling from the bench.

And neither did the media mince words – “Thieving reverend sobs his apologies” – St Petersburg, Florida:

The Rev Henry Lyons, president of one of the United States’ largest and most influential black denominations, sobbed and apologized as he resigned yesterday, two weeks after being convicted of swindling more than $US4 million ($6.4 million).

“I’m just so sorry about all of this,” he said at a news conference outside his Bethel Metropolitan Baptist Church, where he told the board of the National Baptist Convention USA of his decision. “I’m truly repentant about it. I hate that I hurt so many people,” he said, his voice breaking. Other ministers surrounded him, saying: “You’re not alone.”

“I appreciate it,” he said as he began sobbing.  The Rev E.V. Hill, who will run for president at the convention’s next elections in September, patted Mr. Lyons on the back, saying: “We forgave any errors you have made. We love you.”

Now Lying Lyons President of the National Baptist Convention and Pastor of Bethel Metropolitan Baptist Church in St. Petersburg was not a novice although he definitely broke most of the rules concerning the position of a bishop outlined in the Word of God. Dr. Henry J. Lyons was also President Emeritus of the Florida General Baptist Convention, Inc., and President of Ecumenical Counselor Community Concern, Inc. He also lectured at Colleges & Universities and was involved in National Prominence in Civic & Community Affairs Black History & Human Relations.

Dr. Lyons was born January 17, 1942. He accepted Christ in 1950 and was called to the Ministry in 1961. He and his wife, Deborah, reside in St. Petersburg.  Earlier, Dr. Lyons served as an academic dean at Cincinnati Baptist College and in two pastorates at Baptist churches in Georgia.

Dr. Lyons resume was that of  a very prominent educated Evangelical with extensive ministry and educational background and many doctorate degrees. Dr. Lyons has traveled and preached extensively abroad (17 Nations) under the auspices of the Foreign Mission Board of the National Baptist Convention, USA. In addition, his travels have included Bible study in Israel, Jordan, and Egypt, and theology study at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He has conducted Evangelistic Crusades in the Bahamas and Taiwan. He has traveled and preached in Brazil, Rome, Italy, London, England, Paris, France and Spain.

WHAT BUSINESS HAD BILLY GRAHAM FORGIVING BILL CLINTON FOR BEING AN WHORE-MONGER AND LUSTFUL INDIVIDUAL? NONE!

If one claims that Mr. Graham has been even remotely faithful to the written Word of God then that person is either woefully ignorant or a willful liar. The facts speak for themselves. Southern Baptist Evangelist Billy Graham has many faults and errors including bad theology and bad company.

1) No Rebuke In His Ministry

Proverbs 14:2 says, “He who walks in his uprightness fears the Lord, but he who is perverse [i.e., ungodly] in his ways despises Him.”

In Just As I Am, Graham writes of President Bill Clinton,

The previous day, President Clinton called and asked me to stop by the White House. We ended up spending much of the afternoon together, talking not only about the past and current events, but also about the Bible and what it says about God’s plan for our lives. It was a warm fellowship with a man who has not always won the approval of his fellow Christians but who has in his heart a desire to serve God and do His will. (p. 656, entire paragraph quoted).

No one who promotes the killing of unborn children, as Clinton did during his presidency (even partially born children), desires “to serve God and do His will” (Proverbs 17:11; 21:10)! Graham is a liar (on behalf of himself, and others, 1 John 2:4) .

Even though Apostle Paul told Timothy in chapter 4:1-5 that the work of an evangelist was to rebuke, Billy Graham rebukes nobody including his friend and pal sexually immoral adulterous Bill Clinton:
4:1 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: 4:2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4:4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 4:5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. 1 Timothy

Dr. Billy Graham in his new book indicated that adulterous President Clinton made a big impression on him during the Oklahoma City bombing tragedy. He said: “Seldom have I seen anyone express so movingly and sincerely a genuine sense of compassion and sympathy to those who were hurting. I felt that he, not I, was the real pastor that day.”

Mr. Evangelical Graham went off the deep end and stated:

President Bill Clinton would make a great evangelist, Billy Graham told U.S. News & World Report in a interview. Graham said he was impressed with Clinton’s charisma and ‘with some of the things he believes. … From a biblical point of view, we should be headed in the direction of goodness and righteousness, away from crime and immorality,’ Graham said, ‘and towards one’s neighbors who are in need. I’m encouraged by the emphasis President Clinton (a Southern Baptist) and Hillary are putting on that.’

It’s a fact that Christianity Today founded by Billy Graham did not report immediately on one of its own pastors Ollin Collins Senior Pastor of Harvest Baptist Church in Fort Worth, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary’s board chairman. A man who resigned amid sexual misconducts allegations when he was accused of having sexual relationships with two women who sought counseling.

But it did report about the adultery of a black man and a National Baptist but not about the adultery of a white man and Southern Baptist. An adultery that was more hideous and gross because Collins raped unsuspecting trusting women, while Lyons adulterous relationships were consensual. It has been said that Lyons will go down in the history books as “Hugh Hefner of the New Testament.”

Now concerning the fallen hero, the church had suspended Pastor Collins with pay pending an investigation. He resigned from his board position one day after a story in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported the women’s allegations and their intent to sue. Southwestern is the world’s largest evangelical seminary, with 3,000 students on eight campuses.

But of course neither the Seminary nor the Church did anything for the real female victims but they did help and console the aggressor? Just like Billy Graham stated about Bill Clinton “I forgive him . . . because I know the frailty of human nature, and especially a strong, vigorous young man like he is. “He has such a tremendous personality that I think the ladies just go wild over him.” In other words it was the fault of the victims not the victimizer?

2) Doesn’t Rule His Own Household?

3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach;
3:3 not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous;
3:4 one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence. 1 Timothy

Billy Graham has raised up two sons Ned and Franklin who are as deceitful as their father. Ned Graham, the son of Billy Graham, Southern Baptist minister, president East Gates International, a group that distributes Bibles in China told Christianity Today in an interview that he had abused alcohol and spent an “inappropriate amount of time” with two women on his staff.

Grace Community Church, Southern Baptist Convention, in Auburn, Washington–which counted Ned Graham, his wife, and their two sons as members established the fact that Ned Graham was an adulterer, alcoholic, wife abuser, and drug user and revoked Graham’s ministerial credentials. It directed Graham to stop using the title reverend.

Yet in a style reminiscent of Jimmy Swaggart, who refused to be defrocked by the Assembly of God denomination, Ned Graham left that congregation for another church.

Most of the staff and board members of East Gates International resigned amid controversies. East Gates, in Sumner, Wash., withdrew its membership in the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability after Ned replaced the board members with his sister Ruth Graham McIntyre, brother-in-law Stephan Tchividjian, and business leader Peter Lowe.

Graham’s sister Gigi Tchividjian has joined the office staff and Ned Graham continues as East Gates president. The ECFA the self-policing organization Billy Graham helped start requires that a majority of board members not be related by blood or marriage, which is no longer the case for East Gates.

A December East Gates fund-raising letter included a note from his father saying that “Ruth and I are proud of and grateful to God for our son Ned.” East Gates has distributed 2 million Bibles to Christians in China, Billy Graham said, encouraging Christians to “back this unique and effective ministry.”

It is interesting to see the most famous “evangelist” (some say) not being able to educate his children, especially Ned. At the same time, having a bunch of so-called Christians following the leadership of such wreckless person.
Franklin Graham wears jeans, boots, denim shirt, and leather jacket. He was a teen rebel who drank, smoked, fought, and led police on high-speed chases. He was kicked out of LeTourneau College. He used to be a rebel and a ‘bum’ got religion and become more sophisticated and took over “the Samaritan’s Purse’ so that he can fly around the country and charge things to his non-profit corporation. As a result his ministry, Samaritan’s Purse, had a run-in with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability. The ECFA suspended Samaritan’s Purse while it looked into Franklin’s (Graham) compensation and use of the company plane.

3) Bad Theology and Company

Did you know that over 60% of Billy Graham’s support in the crusades or missions as he now calls them come from Roman Catholics who have given us many pedophile priests and nuns raped by priests.

Every since he received an honorary doctorate from Catholic priests at Belmont Abbey College in 1967 he has embraced the Pope and Catholics. He called it, “a time when Protestants and Catholics could meet together and greet each other as brothers, whereas 10 years ago they could not”. He joked around, “I’m not sure but what this could start me being called “Father Graham”.

Billy Graham praises the pope, a man who allows himself to be called God. When Billy Graham was on the Phil Donahue show on 10-11-79, he said that pope John Paul II was someone that he could quote with “some real authority.” He also said that the world was looking for a spiritual leader and that the pope didn’t pull any punches. [Lord have mercy, Jesus] Billy Graham even had a Catholic priest SUPERVISE the 6,600 counselors for the Denver crusade. Information on the hundreds of Catholics who came forward were sent to a Catholic organization in Denver. (Wilson Ewin, Evangelism: The Trojan Horse of the 1990s).

The Catholic archdiocese in Portland, Oregon, set a goal to supply 6,000 of the 10,000 counselors needed for the Graham crusade. All Catholics responding to the altar call were channeled to the Catholic religion.

Graham Deceived by Communists–Gary Bauer says: “Billy Graham went to the Soviet Union during the Cold War and said there was no persecution. He was going to the fake church, the state-controlled church.”

In 1966: Graham said, “I find myself closer to Catholics than the radical Protestants. I think the Roman Catholic Church today is going through a second Reformation” (Philadelphia Evening Bulletin 24 may, 1966. )

In 1980 Billy Graham stated: “Since his election, Pope John Paul II has emerged as the greatest religious leader of the modern world, and one of the greatest moral and spiritual leaders of this century … The Pope came [to America] as a statesman and a pastor, but I believe he also sees himself coming as an evangelist. … The Pope sought to speak to the spiritual hunger of our age in the same way Christians throughout the centuries have spoken to the spiritual yearnings of every age-by pointing people to Christ” (Saturday Evening Post, Jan.-Feb. 1980). [In this same article Graham was quoted as saying, “Recently I learned the word ‘Pontiff’ comes from the Latin words which originally meant ‘bridge builder.’ … Pope John Paul II [is] indeed a bridge builder, and that is something our divided world desperately needs.” Historically, “pontiff” does not mean bridge- builder, but refers to the papal title of Pontifex Maximus, which was handed down to the early popes from the high priests of ancient heathen religion inthe Roman Empire; “Pontiff” in Italian and Latin means “bridge,” and clearly points to the Pope’s blasphemous claim that he himself is that bridge between man and God.] (Billy Graham, The Saturday Evening Post, Jan.-Feb. 1980).

“SCHULLER: Tell me, what do you think is the future of Christianity?
GRAHAM: Well, Christianity and being a true believer — you know, I think there’s the Body of Christ. This comes from all the Christian groups around the world, outside the Christian groups. I think everybody that loves Christ, or knows Christ, whether they’re conscious of it or not, they’re members of the Body of Christ … I think James answered that, the Apostle James in the first council in Jerusalem, when he said that God’s purpose for this age is to call out a people for His name. And that’s what God is doing today, He’s calling people out of the world for His name, whether they come from the Muslim world, or the Buddhist world, or the Christian world, or the non-believing world, they are members of the Body of Christ, because they’ve been called by God. They may not even know the name of Jesus, but they know in their hearts that they need something that they don’t have, and they turn to the only light that they have, and I think they are saved, and that they’re going to be with us in heaven.” “SCHULLER: What, what I hear you saying, that it’s possible for Jesus Christ to come into human hearts and soul and life, even if they’ve been born in darkness and have never had exposure to the Bible. Is that a correct interpretation of what you’re saying?
GRAHAM: Yes, it is, because I believe that. I’ve met people in various parts of the world in tribal situations, that they have never seen a Bible or heard about a Bible, and never heard of Jesus, but they’ve believed in their hearts that there was a God, and they’ve tried to live a life that was quite apart from the surrounding community in which they lived.”
“SCHULLER: [R.S. trips over his tongue for a moment, his face beaming, then says] I’m so thrilled to hear you say this. There’s a wideness in God’s mercy.
GRAHAM: There is. There definitely is.”
This is the end of the pertinent segment from the May 31, 1997, TV interview. Before we go on to the pertinent segment of the June 8, 1997, segment, let us pause to review some of the terrible events we have just heard Reverend Graham say. We will requote segments of Graham’s statements, and then look to see what the Bible has to say.
Dr. Graham: ” I think everybody that loves Christ, or knows Christ, whether they’re conscious of it or not, they’re members of the Body of Christ”

The Apostle Paul provides the most definitive refutation to this false statement by Dr. Graham. ” For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?” [Romans 10:13-15]

When Paul says that “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”, he is correctly implying that a person cannot be saved apart from the name and Person of Jesus Christ. This is why the Christian Church has placed such an emphasis on sending missionaries to foreign lands where the Gospel has not been heard. The Apostle Paul then continues to elaborate on this terrible truth. “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?”

When Dr. Graham asserts that people can be saved even though they know not the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior, he is repeating the lie — the false doctrine of the New Age Religion — and of the Roman Catholic Church, as well as of Liberal “Christians” like Dr. Schuller. This statement is quite a departure from traditional Southern Baptist teaching; but, it does fit in nicely with today’s burgeoning Ecumenical theology, as they state that there are many roads to Heaven, and it does not really matter what you believe as long as you are “sincere”.

BUT SALVATION COMES ONLY FROM THE NAME OF JESUS

     Few had heard of Rodney Howard-Browne before he led a series of revival meetings in Lakeland, Florida in 1993. A lot has happened since then; some of it is commendable, and some of it is reprehensible. In theory Browne came to America from South Africa to “revive” a largely sleeping church. He quickly got labeled as a Holy Ghost “bartender” because of the manifestations of “holy laughter” dominating his ministry. In his meetings he taught that no only it was the pastor’s job to fleece the sheep but only God was to judge pastors, not the (dumb) sheep! He also taught that thieves were to be blessed and rewarded, not judged for this is what Jesus would want them to do! He also taught that it was more important to give than to receive and spend a lot of time receiving offerings that he spent on himself and family members.

Rodney learned about nepotism from his good friend Senior Pastor Karl Strader of Carpenter’s Home Church, Lakeland, Florida, for the bible stated:

But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8

Christmas morning, Dec 25, 2002, changed the lives of Dr’s Rodney and Adonica Howard-Browne forever.  It was early hours of that morning, that Kelly, their 18 year old daughter, passed away in his arms.  She had suffered from the incurable disease, Cystic Fibrosis for 18 years.

 As she passed away, Rodney and Adonica offered up to Jesus the best gift they had to offer, their daughter.  Rodney then vowed, that because the devil had taken their daughter with this dreaded disease, he would pay with 100 million souls over the next 10 years.  Thus began the burning of the vision for 100 million souls.   The Kelly May foundation was born and the beginnings of World Outreach began with the planning of two great crusades this year.  The first in May/June 2003 in Mexico and the second Oct/Nov 2003 in Soweto, South Africa.   There will be 6 crusades next year and 12 each year thereafter.

Hence it was not a surprise to learn that Gil & Loraine Howard-Browne were moving to Tampa this March to help Evangelist Rodney Howard- Browne win “One hundred million souls for Christ over the next 10 years?”  Considering the Howard-Brownes are naturalized Americans who don’t belong to ECFA and are accountable to no one but themselves, this is a very stupid and impossible vision, especially considering that there have never been one hundred million souls won for Jesus in a period of ten years through out earth’s history.  But the Howard-Brownes are nothing but liars, thieves,  con-artists and wolves in sheep’s clothing. I saw him in Florida as he was a guest-speaker at the Orlando Christian Center. I also attended his services in British Columbia, where he held a series of meetings from Nov. 19 through 23, 1996, in a popular charismatic church of Vancouver.

More than once in this 2,000-seat church auditorium, a member of his organization advised us to be careful at the altar and not step on those lying on the carpeted floor because “even if they are under the power of the Holy Ghost, they still feel pain!” Howard-Browne played a very active human role in the laughter manifestation. He joked again and again, “I’ll read from The Amplified Bible, so if it comes out loud, it’s because it’s amplified.” Himself a Caucasian, born and raised in Africa, now living in America, he came to this conclusion, “That makes me an African-American!” At the time of the offering he suggested, besides cash and check giving, “You can use your credit card: MasterCard, Visa, American Distress.” The crowd was ecstatic.

Adonica – his wife – also made a brief appearance on the stage. At the very first meeting she was asked to greet the audience. Estimating that the crowd’s response lacked enthusiasm, she said, “Are you just shy Canadians, or what? Are you just as the Americans?” A remark that lacked some tact! The Holy Ghost “bartender” seemed to believe that he needs to instruct people on laughing and behavior. He even defied those who would not respond according to his expectations.

It came close to threatening when he accused the more conservative people by saying, “We’ll cast the religious devil out of you.” He did not miss an opportunity to put his critics down, “Some people have got more faith in believing the devil can come into this place tonight to touch people. How dumb can you get and still breathe!” Referring to North American theologians, which he named dead heads, he said, “Bunch of whitewash, full of dead bones, like a constipated mule.” Americans and Canadians, in particular, did not weigh much in his eyes. I don’t know if his attitude has changed, but he said, “Jesus is alive. It’s only North Americans that don’t believe that.”

The fact remains that multi-million dollars Family run Evangelistic Ministries in America be it the Hinn’s of Orlando, the Straders of Lakeland, the Howard-Browne’s of Tampa, the Falwells of Lynchburg, the Brights of Orlando, the Robertson’s of Norkfolk, the Roberts of Tulsa, the Copelands of Forth Worth, and the Graham’s of Minneapolis are notorious for hiding their total salaries and those of their family members and special friends in their indirect personally owned non- profit religious corporation while they live in palatial palaces like kings and royalty.

Just like with the Bakker’s of PTL Club fame personal misconduct, mismanagement, and pillaging of the treasury and misuse of Ministry resources are quite common. Benny Hinn had to flee from Orlando Florida, when the media started to dig into the different scandals in his ministry. The Straders of Lakeland, personal friends of the Jim Bakker, Benny Hinn, Oral and Richard Roberts and Rodney Howard-Browne, went through a major split of Carpenter’s Home Church in 1989 when the Straders refused to relinquish the financial control they had on the ministry, the church and its assets.

Unlike Jesus Christ who owned nothing, Televangelists Jan and Paul Crouch who lost their tax exemption for their Trinity Broadcasting Network are definitely not lacking in any material possession.  Their home is described as “a palatial estate with ocean and city views and was purchased for around five million dollars. It has six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a billiard room, a climate-controlled wine cellar, a sweeping staircase and a crystal chandelier.    The three-story, nearly 9,500-square-foot house,  has an elevator, also has a six-car garage, a tennis court and a pool with a fountain.

Trinity Broadcasting, established in 1973, has more than 768 TV stations on the air worldwide. The Crouches oversee a $100-million-plus-a-year enterprise. One of the Crouch estates is TBN’s ranch in Colleyville, TX, just minutes away from the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.  The 80-plus acre ranch contains eight houses and horse stables, is estimated to be worth about $10 million.

Mind you President Clinton did and President Bush does release his total salary and his personal income tax to the public while Billy and Franklin Graham and their friends do not. But adulterous and lying Bill Clinton seems to have more integrity and accountability than TV Evangelists do in this area?

It seems that all of these family run ministries see the dumb sheep as God sent to be fleeced for their own hidden agenda and growth of their personal kingdom of which they are kings and rule supreme and are not accountable to the public but only to God. But they collect their money from people and not God? And their tax exemption comes from the people and not God? So whom are they fooling? Not God and not the people!

Is it possible that they are really crooks who use the separation of Church and State to fleece the sheep as South African Evangelist Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne had said, it was their responsibility to fleece the sheep? For in a Howard Browne winter camp meeting in the USF Sun  Dome in Tampa Florida attended by two CNT reporters,  South African Pentecostal Evangelist Dr. Rodney Howard Browne taught pastors that “sheep needed to be fleeced or they would have too much hair and could not see where they are going. It was the pastor’s job to fleece the sheep.”

Dr. Rodney Howard- Browne had been credited with bringing the laughter revival to America. But from what really happened in Carpenter’s Home Church in 1993 and 1994 and its devastating effect on the community including the robbing, raping and murdering of the sheep, was not much of a revival.

The leadership of the Assembly of God denomination both in Lakeland and Missouri also would not accept the testimony of one of its members Roy Aldrich that he was robbed and raped by money changers and wolves in sheep’s clothing in Carpenter’s Home Church during the so called “revival”. But the State of Florida who cared about justice, righteousness and truth accepted the words and testimony of Roy Aldrich about the Straders.

The Florida State prosecutors proved their case and convinced the jurors that Dan Strader, the son of the senior pastor Karl Strader, devised an elaborate scheme to attract cash in the real-estate and mortgage investments. He was selling the securities without a license and that the securities were unregistered. This was done in an organized method amounting to Racketeer-Influence and Corrupt Organizations, or RICO Act.

Daniel, 37, was sentenced to 45 years in prison in August 1995. He was convicted of 238 felony counts for bilking 57 mostly elderly investors, some members of the church, out of $2.3 million by selling investments in properties that didn’t exist or already had liens against them. Others who were involved along with Dan Strader were not pursed by the State of Florida as they felt that the conviction of Daniel Strader was a good example for others to take notice.

Dr Rodney Howard Browne used his influence and powers to raise money at Carpenter’s Home Church to buy the senior pastor Karl Strader his much needed second Lincoln Town Car. But when Rodney was requested to use his influence and power to raise money for the unfortunate elderly victims of Dan’s Strader, he refused.

It is to be noted that Howard-Browne’s standard biography claims he once served as an associate pastor at Rhema. But according to Rhema church officials contacted, Howard-Browne was never an associate pastor-nor did he ever hold any pastoral credentials or responsibilities. Said Kelmeyer: “Rodney was never an associate pastor here. He was an ordained minister by the state and a lecturer at our Bible school, but was not involved in any form of pastoral work.”

Howard-Browne also claimed a “doctorate of ministry degree” from an obscure San Jacinto, California correspondence institution called “The School of Bible Theology.” A state Department of Education employee contacted likened the tiny school, which bills itself as “The Seminary to the World” and has no faculty, to a “diploma mill.”

While most doctorate degrees are earned through serious study at through hard work at a credited University, Life Christian University of Tampa, another diploma mill now related to Dr. Rodney,  gives out honorary degrees to prominent Charismatic Christians based on stupidity and has stated:

These doctoral programs can include work in which the minister is currently involved and advanced standing is awarded for published works.  Our illustrious alumni include such internationally-prominent ministers as:

So why are prominent Evangelical leaders in America so dishonest about Doctorate degrees and are hiding their total personal salaries? Are they ashamed that they earn so much or not enough? Or are they Crooks and Liars?  Mind you the latter is more plausible for Evangelical Leaders in America, be they Billy or Franklin, Graham, Bill Bright, Pat Robertson, Rodney Howard-Browne, Benny Hinn, Jerry Falwell or others, have no integrity whatsoever; especially when it comes to their own personal salaries and those of their special friends.

David Taggart, a twenty-nine-year-old “personal aide” to Jim Bakker and his lover, received $360,000 in 1986 for special services. While in 1986 the Bakkers were paid $1.9 million. It is a fact the PTL Club was full of personal misconduct, mismanagement, and pillaging of the PTL treasury.  So are the others any different? For the total salaries of the Billy Graham and his sons and family are one of American’s best-kept secrets and even their personal lives that are no different than that of Jim Bakker!

Self Righteous Evangelical leaders, such as Billy Graham and Bill Bright were shocked and dismayed, at the revelation about the life style and morality of these Pentecostal “televangelist in America. On Larry King live in the   fall of 1998 Southern Baptist Evangelist Billy Graham was insulted when he was compared with TV Evangelists such as Jimmy Swaggart and Jim Bakker and their sex scandals. Billy Graham said that he did not do those things which Jim Bakker or Jim Swaggart did – a statement that turned out to be a lie!

But Billy Graham’s own son Ned Graham turned out to be no different than Jim Bakker.  Even though a President of an Evangelical Ministry must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; not given to wine, not violent, and not greedy for money, Ned Graham the son of Billy Graham, Southern Baptist minister, president East Gates International, a group that distributes Bibles in China told Christianity Today in an interview that he had abused alcohol and spent an “inappropriate amount of time” with two women on his staff.

Grace Community Church, Southern Baptist Convention, in Auburn, Washington-which counted Ned Graham, his wife, and their two sons as members established in 1999 the fact that Ned Graham was an adulterer, alcoholic, wife abuser, and drug user and revoked Graham’s ministerial credentials. It directed Graham to stop using the title reverend.

Yet in a style reminiscent of Jimmy Swaggart, who refused to be defrocked by the Assembly of God denomination, Ned Graham left that congregation for another church.

Most of the staff and board members of East Gates International resigned amid controversies. East Gates, in Sumner, Wash., withdrew its membership in the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability after Ned replaced the board members with his sister Ruth Graham McIntyre, brother-in-law Stephan Tchividjian, and business leader Peter Lowe.

Billy Graham, born as William Franklin Graham in Charlotte, North Carolina, a registered Democrat, and the leading spokesman for Christian Fundamentalism was educated at the now infamous racist and bigoted Bob Jones University   associated with Senator John Ashcroft and George W. Bush. As full time chairman of Billy Graham Evangelistic Organization, which he founded fifty years ago, Graham took a yearly one hundred percent salary from his own religious non profit organization; even if he was incapacitated, had a pension fund, worked about ten days a year and spent fifty percent of the time in bed or at the hospital!

While the Tampa Tribune had reported that “Billy Graham encourages religious leaders to be open about their salaries and publish their finances” But this does not change the fact that Rev. Billy, Ned and Franklin Graham, Rev, Jesse Jackson or any other prominent Baptist leader in America are not open about their total salaries and those of their family members and special friends.

Graham who has legally been stealing his full salary and other benefits for the last fifty years is unique in his special privileges in this non profit organization as no other employee in the Billy Graham Evangelistic Organization other than Billy Graham is paid a full one hundred percent salary and is allowed to spend fifty percent of his time in bed or at the hospital.

In the last five years newspaper investigations brought out factual revelation that showed that the “Born Again” Baptist leaders in America were no different than their Pentecostal counter parts. They were just as much liars, thieves and adulterers as the others.

As a matter of fact, even though he is sick and dying, spends over fifty percent of his time in bed or the hospital, Dr. Billy Graham has been taking a one hundred percent salary and other benefits from the B.G.E.A. that he had founded: Even though the I.R.S. rules state that no non-profit organization should exist for the benefit of one individual.  No other salaried employee in B.G.E.A. is allowed to take a one hundred percent salary plus his pension fund and other perks and spends so many days being sick, as Billy Graham has done and does.  Where is the justice or integrity in all of this?

Does the “Separation of Church and State mean that the chairman of a religious non profit religious organization could legally steal as much salary and other benefits as he wants if it is rubber stamped by his special board of directors and not be accountable to the donors or the public? This seems to be the case!   Otherwise hypocritical Baptist leader who preach integrity to others would not hide their salaries but be honest and state the “total compensation” of their five top employees, including Billy and Franklin Graham!

But Billy Graham and Billy Graham Evangelist Organization are very good a stone walling difficult questions such as the one asked of Barbara Webb, Administrative Services.

Billy Graham Evangelistic Organization in response to the reporting of Billy Graham’s Hypocrisy And Satanic Jews on May 23, 2003 stated:

Subject: Mr. Graham

Dear Friend:

Mr. Graham apologized in regard to the Nixon tapes which were recently broadcast. Although Mr. Graham had no memory of what he had said, he felt it was appropriate at this time to give an apology. He does not actually feel about Jewish people in the way the words were said. Mr. Graham has made many friends over the years among the Jewish leaders and rabbis and has a great respect for them.

I have an important question to which I would like to have an answer does Dr. Billy Graham at 84 years of age still take a 100 percent salary as a employee and chairman of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Organization and work less than 25 percent of time?

The sad part about Billy Graham’s refusal to accept real responsibility is his use of the phrase “Although I have no memory of the occasion, I deeply regret comments I apparently made in an Oval Office conversation with President Nixon … some 30 years ago.” You will appreciate Bill Clinton the former President of United States and a great liar also used a similar phrase to avoid answering questions asked of him during the Monica Lewinsky scandal and would state ” I don’t recall.” But God has a perfect memory and he recalls all things and so do others.

Graham’s two faced hypocrisy also came out in a 1989 when a Graham memo to Nixon was made public. It took the form of a secret letter from Graham, dated April 15, 1969, drafted after Graham met in Bangkok with missionaries from Vietnam. These men of God said that if the peace talks in Paris were to fail, Nixon should step up the war and bomb the dikes. Such an act, Graham wrote excitedly, “could overnight destroy the economy of North Vietnam”.

Graham lent his imprimatur to this recommendation. Thus the preacher was advocating a policy to the US Commander in Chief that on Nixon’s own estimate would have killed a million people.

This disclosure of Graham as an aspirant war criminal did not excite any commotion when it became public in 1989, twenty years after it was written.

Billy Graham has raised up two sons Ned and Franklin who are as deceitful as their father. Ned Graham, the son of Billy Graham, Southern Baptist minister, president East Gates International, a group that distributes Bibles in China told Christianity Today in an interview that he had abused alcohol and spent an “inappropriate amount of time” with two women on his staff.

…Although Billy Graham encourages religious leaders to be open about their salaries and publish their finances none of the Grahams reveal their total compensation nor release their personal income tax as President Bush does and former President Clinton has done. It’s the law of the land that all non profit chairman of corporations must reveal their total salary and that Billy, Ned and Franklin do not to their donors speak volumes of their hypocrisy?

Yes, Jesus told us to beware of hypocrites like Dr. Billy Graham and Rodney Howard Browne!
