TROUBLE

AAGROW IN GRACE :

Luke 9:55 “But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.”

Jesus was constantly being accused of breaking the law of Moses. He taught differently than the law of Moses (Mt. 5:21-48), and now He rebukes His disciples for desiring to do what an Old Testament prophet did with God’s blessing and power. However, Jesus didn’t come to destroy the law but to fulfill it.

Jesus came not to destroy men’s lives but to save them (Jn. 3:16; 10:10).

“God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them” (2 Cor. 5:19). Jesus was just in doing this because He bore our sins (Isa. 53:4-6) and the accompanying wrath of God (Mt. 27:46; Heb. 2:9). Jesus didn’t reject God’s judgment against sin; He bore it (2 Cor. 5:21). Therefore, He was able to extend the grace and mercy of God to those who would have been doomed under the law of Moses (Acts 13:38-39).

The Old Testament law was like a judge passing sentence upon sin. Jesus became our advocate (or lawyer). Even more than that, He became our substitute, bearing “our sins in his own body on the tree” (1 Pet. 2:24).

He didn’t destroy God’s judgment; He fulfilled it in Himself, so that we could go free. This forever changed God’s dealings with sinful man. In light of what Jesus has done in the New Covenant, we would be rebuked for trying to release God’s wrath upon others as was done in the Old Covenant. Likewise, if Jesus would have been on the earth in His physical body, reconciling the world unto Himself in the days of Elijah, then Elijah would have been rebuked for his actions, as recorded in 2 Kings 1:9-15. There is a difference between Old Testament law and New Testament grace. “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ” (Jn. 1:17). Grow in grace.

NO MORE DYING TO DO :

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. – Hebrews 2:9

Death. It’s not a popular topic–even among believers. In fact, a great many are just plain scared of it. Oh yes, they talk about having eternal life. Yet when the devil tries to threaten their earthly survival with sickness or calamity, they panic.

Why? Because they haven’t learned to look at death through God’s eyes. Even though their spirit has been made immortal, they haven’t renewed their minds to include that truth. If they had, when the devil tried to push their panic button, they’d just laugh and say, “You can’t scare me, devil. I’ve done all the dying I’m ever going to do!”

That’s true, you know. The Word of God says that you, as a born-again believer, are never going to see death (John 8:51). Jesus has been your substitute. He suffered death, so you wouldn’t have to. And when He was raised, Hebrews 2:14-15 says, “He destroyed him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And delivered them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”

If you’ve made Jesus the Lord of your life, the only death you’ll ever experience is behind you now. It occurred the instant you received Christ. At that moment, your old self–the one whose nature was to sin and rebel against God–died. Your body didn’t die, but your spirit man–the real you– died to Satan and all of his works. You became “a new creature” (2 Cor. 5:17), immortal and absolutely incapable of death!

When you’re finished with your work on the earth, you’re not going to die. You’ll simply shed your earthly shell and relocate to a far more glorious place.

Go to the Word and get God’s perspective on death. Make a study of it. Once the reality of your immortality begins to dawn on you, the devil will never be able to threaten you with it again.

THE BIG COMEBACK

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. —1 John 1:9

Chad Pennington is a former American football player who has suffered multiple career-threatening injuries. Twice, his injuries forced him to endure surgery, months of physical therapy, and weeks of training to get back onto the field. Yet, both times he not only returned to playing but he also excelled at such a high level that he was named Comeback Player of the Year in the National Football League. For Pennington, his efforts were an expression of his determination to return to football.

Spiritually, when sin and failure break our relationship with God and sideline our service, determination alone is not what restores us to rightness with God and usefulness in His kingdom. When we are sidelined because of sin, the path to a comeback is confession as well. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

For us to be able to recover from our spiritual failings, we are absolutely dependent on the One who gave Himself for us. And that gives us hope. Christ, who died for us, loves us with an everlasting love and will respond with grace as we confess our faults to Him. Through confession, we can find His gracious restoration—the greatest of all comebacks.

Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidd’st me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Confession is the path that leads to restoration.

GOD IS A RESTORER :

At some point in our lives, every one of us has missed out on God-given opportunities. Maybe you can think of a few right now. If so, I want to encourage you: Don’t live in regret. Don’t let lost opportunities make you feel disappointed and discouraged. God is bigger than your lost opportunities. No matter what has happened in your past, He can still get your life back on track!

It’s sort of like using one of those GPS systems in your car. You set the location to where you want to go, and the GPS calculates the best route. You can be driving along and get distracted and completely miss the street where the GPS instructed you to turn, but that doesn’t mean you’ll never reach your destination. You wouldn’t just pull off to the side of the road crying and say, “Now I’m stuck here. I’ll never get where I need to go all because I missed my turn!” No, there’s always another way to get there. In fact, that GPS system will instantly recalculate the route to your destination based on your present location.

Well, God works in a similar way. He is constantly giving us direction, speaking to our hearts, leading us by granting peace or unrest in our spirits. But even when we miss His instructions—and we all do from time to time—He will recalculate our route and get us back where we need to be.

I love what the apostle Paul said in Philippians 3:13: “One thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.” He was saying, we must turn our thoughts toward the future and keep looking for new opportunities. God is a restorer, and He loves to restore opportunities. It may not always happen the way you think, but keep your heart open to Him. He’ll get you back on track toward the wonderful destiny He has prepared for you!

LORD’S MANNA FOR THE DAY :

Habakkuk 3:19 Amplified Bible (AMP)

The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!

PRAYER FOR THE DAY :

“Vindicate me, LORD, for I have led a blameless life; I have trusted in the LORD and have not faltered.” (Psalm 26:1)

Dear Lord God, I praise You. I honor You. Let the morning rain bring me joy and hope from the hands of God on this new day. I rejoice in the Lord for You have blessed me all the way in my life. My soul rejoices in my God for You have clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of Your righteousness. I humbly come to the throne of grace and seek for Your wisdom and knowledge, please show me the unsearchable things that I do not know and teach me how to pray daily.

Gratefully, in Jesus’ holy name I pray. Amen !!!

BE NOT DECEIVED

CD BE NOT DECEIVED

Genesis 3:13 And the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

Genesis 29:25 So it came to pass in the morning, that behold, it was Leah. And he said to Laban, “What is this you have done to me? Was it not for Rachel that I served you? Why then have you deceived me?”

Genesis 31:7 Yet your father has deceived me and changed my wages ten times, but God did not allow him to hurt me.

It is in the character of demons and people to deceive men which started in the Garden of Eden when the serpent deceived Eve and paradise was lost. Deception is one of the great tools of the devil that he uses on all people including Christians. Deception is always present in one’s relationship with a familiar spirit even though the person is not aware it is a familiar spirit but thinks it’s just an idea or thought. The person having a familiar spirit may not recognize that it is a spirit entity with whom he is having a relationship. He may think that his experiences are only within his imaginations and fantasies or part of his personality.

God’s people need to repent and renounce all familiar spirits that have entered their lives through whatever means possible and be delivered from all the lies and deceptions of familiar spirits by the power and anointing of God. Here is a suggested prayer.

Satan, I renounce you, and I take back all the ground that I ever yielded to you. God is my source of wisdom, knowledge, guidance, victory, strength and power. In Jesus name I declare total and complete victory over every enemy!  You familiar spirit, leave me, in the name of Jesus. Lord Jesus, I belong to You. You have saved me and redeemed me by Your blood. I have need of no spirit other than The Holy Spirit. Forgive me for having sought from other spirits that which should only come from You. I renounce and separate myself from all familiar spirits, however acquired. I call upon You, Lord, to deliver me from the lies and deceptions of familiar spirits, all the works and wiles of the enemy  and to heal me of all their works and all things. Teach me Your truth and Your ways. It is my earnest desire to walk in Your will and to glorify Your name. Amen.

Father God, You are the wonder-working God. I come boldly before Your throne of mercy and grace seeking healing for my body, blessings in my finances and total victory over every enemy. Deliver me from every bondage and enemy. Heal me from every infirmity. Guard me from all forces of darkness. Cleanse me from all unrighteousness by Your precious blood. Remove every fear from my heart and let Your divine light shine in my heart. Grant me the strength of Your divine spirit and strengthen me.   Lord Your word says that You are the God that heals us of all our diseases, all our sickness, redeem us from destruction, gives us victory over all our enemies and satisfy us with good things and my enemies would flee from me seven ways.  You said that You would take my sickness away from me, bless me coming in and going out and I would thread the high places of my enemies.  Your word says that You desire above all things that we prosper and be in good health.  Therefore I know that it is Your will for me to be in good health.  Therefore, in the name of Jesus, I come against this spirit of infirmity and spirit of poverty that is trying to overtake me, and render it helpless in the mighty name of Jesus.  Father in the name of Jesus, I bind every spirit of sickness and disease, every spirit of infirmity, and every other demonic spirit that the enemy is trying to use against my life in any way.  By the authority of Jesus Christ, I pull down every stronghold of the adversary against my body, and command him to flee from every area of my body, as well as my life and my finances, in the name of Jesus.  Satan I render You helpless, powerless, and ineffective against my body and my finances in the name of Jesus.   For greater is He that is in me that he that is in the world, therefore You will not overcome me, for I have overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of my testimony, and I say to You “ BY THE STRIPES OF JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH I AM HEALED, BLESSED AND MADE PERFECT, WHOLE AND COMPLETE!

Yes, the greatest enemy of all of God’s people is deception. Whether it is self-deception or general malice it is still deception.  The only way to avoid this deception is to get on our knees humble ourselves and admit we are wrong and unworthy of God. Then, with God we can build on this foundation, restructuring our lives into something that will be profitable, pliable and usable.

Deception is never a blessing to those who are deceived by it and many times results in tragedy, sorrow, loss and even death. Unfortunately today in our society both politicians and preachers are great deceivers and cannot be trusted. Only God’s word and the Holy Spirit should be trusted in all things. God’s word is true:

And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God.  For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.  I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.  And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.  1 Corinthians 2:1-5

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.  But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.  For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:12-16

But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. 1 John 2:20

But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. 1 John 2:27

Since Satan is the great deceiver and even Christians can be deceived it is possible and it happens to men that they are deceived and led away from the truth without knowing it. If the person being deceived knew they were being deceived, then deception would not have occurred. One must believe that one is not deceived in order to be deceived. It is just that simple.

And Christians get deceived with they put their own perspective on things instead of God’s and when they seek their own kingdom instead of God’s! The word of God tells us in Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.  So what may seem right, can lead to death because the consequence of sin is death.  In other words a Christian can be confident that he or she is serving the Lord when he is actually deceived. This is because what we do  things that “seems to be right” in our eyes.

It is a very sad thing when the glory of God has departed due to deception or willful sin from a person, a church or a denomination.  Just because a person or a group of people started out serving God, being led by the Holy Spirit and continuing  in His Word,  doesn’t mean they will not fall away or be deceived when God’s blessings will be abundant and they begin to rely on their own strength, wisdom and power rather than God’s strength, wisdom or power.

Jesus Christ and Apostle Paul both taught on the importance of not being deceived and being aware of false prophets and wolves including a strong warning “Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.”

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.  “You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?  “Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.  “A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.  “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.  “Therefore by their fruits you will know them.   “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.  “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’  “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Matthew 7:15-23

Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them.   For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says:  “Awake, you who sleep,  Arise from the dead,  And Christ will give you light.” Ephesians 5:6-14

If deception of Christians by empty words of deceivers were not possible then Apostle Paul would not warn Christians about it or that because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience and also tells us do not be partakers with them.

And scriptures doesn’t tell us that exposing the unfruitful works of darkness which are done by the sons of disobedience is wrong bur rather children of light are to become aware of them, expose them and to have no fellowship with the perpetrators of  evil, lies, deception and wickedness many of whom are goats not sheep! And God’s word is true:

“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:  ‘for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink;  ‘I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’ “Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’  “Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’  “And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Matthew 25:41-46

Jesus taught that the goats who did not give him food when He was hungry, give him drink when He was thirsty, take Him in when He was a stranger, clothe Him when He was naked, visit Him when He was sick and in prison would go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life. Yes, all those who did not minister to the least of one of these are unrighteous. And since Jesus wrote the rules and enforces them, they are in deep trouble.

Yes, Jesus taught that all His words were not to be ignored or there would be serious consequences.  He also told us to beware of men who would come as wolves in sheep’s clothing and would teach the doctrine of men as commandments of God (Matthew 16:9).

It’s to be noted that Jesus Christ Himself in the power of the Holy Spirit, the greater one in us, has now become for us wisdom from God-and righteousness and sanctification and redemption. When we understand this truth and humbly act on it we shall never be the same nor defeated or deceived any more. And the deception of men is that they think they are so wonderful when they are not. They think they can achieve anything without God. They built great towers and monuments to themselves and then ask why He is upset with their inventions. They don’t understand they were doing it to exalt themselves and forgot their Creator. They forgot to worship Him, to thank Him, to love Him for who He is to them. They forgot their Lord and Savior.  Deception and demonization of Christians today is the norm rather than the exception. Because they are not walking in the power of God’s might and His truth and are not putting on the armor of God, or standing in all the promises of God, today’s Christendom is demonized, anemic, impotent, incompetent and fearful just like the children of Israel were when they came out of Egypt and never went into the Promised Land. They are more full of fear than they are full of faith and that is a fact!

It’s also a fact that Christians who are demonized and have familiar spirits living in them including the spirit of infirmity and deception, cannot deliver others until they themselves are delivered. It’s a fact that Jesus spent fifty percent of his ministry time casting out demons, and today’s Apostate Christians allow familiar spirits to run rampant in their own lives, churches  and society. Sickness of any kind in God’s people should not be tolerated but dealt with including the spirits that cause cancer, diabetes’s, mental breakdowns, etc. You cannot give others victory until you have victory yourself but God’s word is unchanging:

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.” ‘ Revelation 2:17

“He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. Revelation 3:5

“He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. And I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name. Revelation 3:12

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8

nor give place to the devil. Ephesians 4:27

Satan is real and alive and well on planet earth. He has many names including the deceiver, the thief, the liar, the father of lies, the devil and a murderer. Jesus told The Pharisees “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it” (John 8:44).

Satan is not a lion but Jesus Christ is the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David (Revelations 5:5). But Satan walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. He has many weapons including deception and appealing to the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. And Apostle Paul and James tell us that Christian can give place to the devil:

Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh.  Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.  But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.  This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.  For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.  But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.  James 3:13-17

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”   Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:6-7

“Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk  2:4

“For we walk by faith, not by sight” 2 Corinthians 5:7.

Walking by faith means that we base everything we do in life upon what God says because we believe Him. In fact, we believe Him so deeply that everything we say, everywhere we go, every action we take, and every thought in our mind aligns itself with what God says.

A truth we find threaded through God’s Word is that everything a Christian receives, he must believe for it first. Before we receive salvation, we must believe for salvation. God searches over the earth looking for those who will believe Him. And when He finds someone who believes Him, then He rewards them because God is a rewarder of those who believe that He is and diligently seek Him.

We must also live our lives based on the truth of God’s Word instead of the facts that are found in the world. We act on the promise instead of the problem. We walk in the truth instead of deception and we walk in the light instead of darkness. We must walk in love instead of hate. God’s word is unchanging:

Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.   Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law Romans 13:7-10

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love. Galatians 5:6

BE RESPONSIBLE

 ALL YOUR CARES

REPENTANCE IS VERY IMPORTANT

Now there are some people now preaching half truths, even posting messages to all about God’s love, goodness, prosperity, faithfulness, reliability, even promises of their prayer being answered.. Let me be clear here that all the promises of God in his Word the Bible now only apply to his faithful servants, the repentant real Christians.
If you are also still in unrepentant sins the first thing you still need to do is repent, ask God for Forgiveness before you can start to claim his promises in his Word to you.. so do not tell others half truths.. rather also do thus tell them they to need to repent first..

Romans 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

Romans 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

1 John 1: 1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) 3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

GOD EXPECTS THAT PEOPLE WORK AND BE RESPONSIBLE NOT PLAY AND BE IRRESPONSIBLE

Deuteronomy 16:15 Seven days you shall keep a sacred feast to the LORD your God in the place which the LORD chooses, because the LORD your God will bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hands, so that you surely rejoice.

PSALMS 1:3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

2 Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. 11 For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies.

WHAT DO YOU THINK THE EPISTLES OF PAUL WHERE JUST GOOD STUFF TO READ?

PAUL WROTE “WE COMMANDED YOU” NOT IF YOU WANT TO HEED?

MOST OF THEM WERE REBUKES TO REPENT AND CHANGE OR ELSE YOU ARE IN DEEP TROUBLE!

JESUS SAID IN THE BOOK OF OF REVELATION TO HIS CHURCH, NOT PAGANS,  LISTEN, HEAR, REPENT, CHANGE AND OVERCOME!

REVELATIONS 3:14    “And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:
15    “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.
16    So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.
17    Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’ — and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked —
18    I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.
19    As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
20    Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
21    To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
22    “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ‘ ”

IF YOU ARE SICK GOD IS ABLE TO HEAL YOU

Exodus 15:26 and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.”

IF YOU ARE AFFLICTED GOD IS ABLE TO DELIVER YOU

Psalms 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.

IF YOU NEED HELP GOD CAN HELP YOU AND SAVE YOU

Psalms 3: 1 LORD, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me.
2 Many are they who say of me, ” There is no help for him in God.” Selah
3 But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.
4 I cried to the LORD with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah
5 I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustained me.
6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around.
7 Arise, O LORD; Save me, O my God! For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly.
8 Salvation belongs to the LORD. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah

IF YOU ARE LOST GOD IS ABLE TO GUIDE YOU

Psalms 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.

Isaiah 58:11  The LORD will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

John 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

IF YOU NEED WISDOM GOD IS ABLE TO GIVE YOU WISDOM

JAMES 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;
8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

MANY SO CALLED CHRISTIANS THINK INCORRECTLY THAT YESHUA WHICH MEANS JOSHUA IS THE NAME OF GOD ALMIGHTY OR JESUS CHRIST! BUT GOD DOESN’T RESPOND TO PRAYERS PRAYED IN JOSHUA’S NAME!

TO PRAY IN THE NAME MEANS MORE THAN JUST REPEATING JESUS IT MEANS TO PRAY IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH WHICH IS ABOVE ALL OTHER NAMES JUST LIKE JESUS INSTRUCTED US. IT IS TO PRAY IN THE NAME OF GOD ALMIGHTY WHICH IS CONFIRMED BY MIRACLES SIGNS AND WONDERS BY GOD:
Acts 3:1 Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple;
3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms.
4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.”
5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.
6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”
7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them — walking, leaping, and praising God.
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God.
10 Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

Mark 16:17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
19 So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Ame

John 15:16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.

John 16:23 “And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.

SO HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE YOU RAISED FROM THE DEAD AND HOW MANY SICK PEOPLE WERE PHYSICALLY HEALED AS A RESULT OF YOUR PRAYERS?

WHAT? “ARE YOU SAYING I AM SUPPOSED TO BE DOING SUCH THINGS?”  “NO NOT ME BUT JESUS IS!”

JESUS SAID  IF WE PRAY IN HIS NAME WE WOULD DO GREATER WORKS LIKE HE DID IN HEALING THE SICK, CASTING OUT DEMONS AND RAISING THE DEAD?

John 14:12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

John 16:23 “And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

Man is Born To Trouble

 IMG_0096

For affliction does not come from the dust, Nor does trouble spring from the ground;  Yet man is born to trouble, As the sparks fly upward. Job 5:6-7

Edward McKendree Bounds (1835-1913), Methodist minister and devotional writer understood prayer and wrote three excellent books about it. The following in an excerpt from one of his books ‘The Essentials of Prayer’:

TROUBLE and prayer are closely related to other. Prayer is of great value to trouble. Trouble often drives men to God in prayer, while prayer is but the voice of men in trouble. There is great value in prayer in the time of trouble. Prayer often delivers out of trouble, and still oftener gives strength to bear trouble, ministers comfort in trouble, and begets patience in the midst of trouble. Wise is he in the day of trouble who knows his true source of strength and who fails not to pray.

Trouble belongs to the present state of man on earth. “Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.” Trouble is common to man. There is no exception in any age or clime or station. Rich and poor alike, the learned and the ignorant, one and all are partakers of this sad and painful inheritance of the fall of man. “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man.” The “day of trouble” dawns on every one at some time in his life. “The evil days come and the years draw nigh” when the heart feels its heavy pressure.[i]

That is an entirely false view of life and shows supreme ignorance that expects nothing but sunshine and looks only for ease, pleasure and flowers. It is this class who are so sadly disappointed and surprised when trouble breaks into their lives. These are the ones who know not God, who know nothing of his disciplinary dealings with his people and who are prayerless.

What an infinite variety there is in the troubles of life! How diversified the experiences of men in the school of trouble! No two people have the same troubles under like environments. God deals with no two of his children in the same way. And as God varies his treatment of his children, so trouble is varied. God does not repeat himself. He does not run in a rut. He has not one pattern for every child. Each trouble is proportioned to each child. Each one is dealt with according to his own peculiar case.

Trouble is God’s servant, doing his will unless he is defeated in the execution of that will. Trouble is under the control of Almighty God, and is one of his most efficient agents in fulfilling his purposes and in perfecting his saints. God’s hand is in every trouble which breaks into the lives of men. Not that he directly and arbitrarily orders every unpleasant experience of life. Not that he is personally responsible for every painful and afflicting thing which comes into the lives of his people. But no trouble is event turned loose in this world and comes into the life of saint or sinner, but comes with divine permission, and is allowed to exist and do its painful work with God’s hand in it or on it, carrying out his gracious designs of redemption.

All things are under divine control. Trouble is neither above God nor beyond his control. It is not something in life independent of God. No matte from what source it springs nor whence it arises, God is sufficiently wise an able to lay his hand upon it without assuming responsibility font its origin, an work it into his plans and purposes concerning the highest welfare of His saints. This is the explanation of that gracious statement in Romans, so often quoted, but the depth of whose meaning has rarely been sounded, “And w know that all things work together for good to them that love God.”

Even the evils brought about by the forces of nature are his servants, carrying out his will and fulfilling his designs. God even claims the locusts, the earthworm, the caterpillar ante his servants, “My great army,” used by him to correct his people and discipline them. But when we survey all the sources from which trouble comes, it all resolves itself into two invaluable truths: First, that our troubles at last are of the Lord. They come with his consent. He is in all of them, and is interested in us when they press and bruise us. And secondly, that our troubles, no matter what the cause, whether of ourselves, or men or devils, or even God himself, we are warranted in taking them to God in prayer, in praying over them, and in seeking to get the greatest spiritual benefits out of them.

Prayer in the time of trouble tends to bring the spirit into perfect subjection to the will of God, to cause the will to be conformed to God’s will, and saves from all murmurings over our lot, and delivers from everything like a rebellious heart or a spirit critical of the Lord. Prayer sanctifies trouble to our highest good. Prayer so prepares the heart that it softens under the disciplining hand of God. Prayer places us where God can bring to us the greatest good, spiritual and eternal. Prayer allows God to freely work with us and in us in the day of trouble. Prayer removes everything in the way of trouble, bringing to us the sweetest, the highest and greatest good. Prayer permits God’s servant, trouble, to accomplish its mission in us, with us and for us.

The end of trouble is always good in the mind of God. If trouble fails in its mission, it is either because of prayerlessness or unbelief, or both. Being in harmony with God in the dispensations of his providence, always makes trouble a blessing. The good or evil of trouble is always determined by the spirit in which it is received. Trouble proves a blessing or a curse, just according as it is received and treated by us. It either softens or hardens us. It either draws us to prayer and to God or it drives us from God and from the closet. Trouble hardened Pharaoh till finally it had no effect on him, only to make him more desperate and to drive him farther from God. The same sun softens the wax and hardens the clay. The same sun melts the ice and dries out the moisture from the earth.

As is the infinite variety of trouble, so also is there infinite variety in the relations of prayer to other things. How many are the things which are the subject of prayer! It has to do with everything which concerns us, with everybody with whom we have to do, and has to do with all times. But especially does prayer have to do with trouble. “This poor man cried and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.” 0 the blessedness, the help, the comfort of prayer in the day of trouble! And how marvelous the promises of God to us in the time of trouble!

Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.

IN the New Testament there are three words used which embrace trouble. These are tribulation, suffering and affliction, words differing somewhat, and yet each of them practically meaning trouble of some kind. Our Lord put his disciples on notice that they might expect tribulation in this life, teaching them that tribulation belonged to this world, and they could not hope to escape it; that they would not be carried through this life on flowery beds of ease. How hard to learn this plain and patent lesson! “In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” There is the encouragement. As he had overcome the world and its tribulations, so might they do the same. Paul taught the same lesson throughout his ministry, when in confirming the souls of the brethren, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, he told them that “we must, through much tribulation, enter into the kingdom of God.” He himself knew this by his own experience, for his pathway was anything but smooth and flowery.

He it is who uses the word “suffering” to describe the troubles of life, in that comforting passage in which he contrasts life’s troubles with the final glory of heaven, which shall be the reward of all who patiently endure the ills of divine providence:

For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

And he it is who speaks of the afflictions which come to the people of God in this world, and regards them as light as compared with the weight of glory awaiting all who are submissive, patient and faithful in all their troubles:

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

But these present afflictions can work for us only as we cooperate with God in prayer. As God works through prayer, it is only through this means he can accomplish his highest ends for us. His providence works with greatest effect with his praying ones. These know the uses of trouble and its gracious designs. The greatest value in trouble comes to those who bow lowest before the throne.

Paul, in urging patience in tribulation, connects it directly with prayer, as if prayer alone would place us where we could be patient when tribulation comes. “Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing instant in prayer.” He here couples up tribulation and prayer, showing their close relationship and the worth of prayer in begetting and culturing patience in tribulation. In fact there can be no patience exemplified when trouble comes, only as it is secured through instant and continued prayer. In the school of prayer is where patience is learned and practiced.

Prayer brings us into that state of grace where tribulation is not only endured, but where there is under it a spirit of rejoicing. In showing the gracious benefits of justification, in Romans 5:3, Paul says:

And not only so, but we glory in tribulation also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope; and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us.

What a chain of graces are here set forth as flowing from tribulation! What successive steps to a high state of religious experience! And what rich fruits result from even painful tribulation!

To the same effect are the words of Peter in his first epistle, in his strong prayer for those Christians to whom he writes; thus showing that suffering and the highest state of grace are closely connected; and intimating that it is through suffering we are to be brought to those higher regions of Christian experience:

But the God of all grace, who hath called us into his eternal glory, by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered awhile, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen and settle you.

It is in the fires of suffering that God purifies his saints and brings them to the highest things. It is in the furnace their faith is tested, their patience is tried, and they are developed in all those rich virtues which make up Christian character. It is while they are passing through deep waters that he shows how close he can come to his praying, believing saints.

It takes faith of a high order and a Christian experience far above the average religion of this day, to count it joy when we are called to pass through tribulation. God’s highest aim in dealing with his people is in developing Christian character. He is after begetting in us those rich virtues which belong to our Lord Jesus Christ. He is seeking to make us like himself. It is not so much work that he wants in us. It is not greatness. It is the presence in us of patience, meekness, submission to the divine will, prayerfulness which brings everything to him. He seeks to beget his own image in it. And trouble in some form tends to do this very thing, for this is the end and aim of trouble. This is its work. This is the task it is called to perform. It is not a chance incident in life, but has a design in view, just as it has an all-wise designer back of it, who makes trouble his agent to bring forth the largest results.

Trouble belongs to the disciplinary part of the moral government of God. This is a life of probation, where the human race is on probation. It is a season of trial. Trouble is not penal in its nature. It belongs to what the Scriptures call “chastening.” “Whom the lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.” Speaking accurately, punishment does not belong to this life. Punishment for sin will take place in the next world. God’s dealings with people in this world are of the nature of discipline They are corrective processes in his plans concerning man. It is because of this that prayer comes in when trouble arises. Prayer belongs to the discipline of life.

As trouble is not sinful in itself, neither is it the evidence of sin. Good and bad alike experience trouble. As the rain falls alike on the just and unjust, so drought likewise comes to the righteous and the wicked. Trouble is no evidence whatever of the divine displeasure. Scripture instances without number disprove any such idea. Job is a case in point, where God bore explicit testamony to his deep piety, and yet God permitted Satan to afflict him beyond any other man for wise and beneficent purposes. Trouble has no power in itself to interfere with the relations of a saint to God. “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword ?”

Three words practically the same in the processes of divine discipline are found, temptation, trial and trouble, and yet there is a difference between them. Temptation is really a solicitation to evil arising from the devil or born in the carnal nature of man. Trial is testing. It is that which proves us, tests us, and makes us stronger and better when we submit to the trial and work together with God in it. “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.”

Peter speaks along the same line:

Wherein ye greatly rejoice, now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations; that the trial of your faith being much more precious than that of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise, and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.

The third word is trouble itself, which covers all the painful, sorrowing, and grievous events of life. And yet temptations and trials might really become troubles. So that all evil days in life might well be classed under the head of the “time of trouble.” And such days of trouble are the lot of all men. Enough to know that trouble, no matter from what source it comes, becomes in God’s hand his own agent to accomplish his gracious work concerning those who submit patiently to him, who recognize him in prayer, and who work together with God.

Let us settle down at once to the idea that trouble arises not by chance, and neither occurs by what men call accident. “Although affliction cometh not forth of the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground, yet man is born unto trouble as the sparks fly upward.” Trouble naturally belongs to God’s moral government, and is one of his invaluable agents in governing the world.
