If You Can Believe!

Then one of the crowd answered and said, “Teacher, I brought You my son, who has a mute spirit. “And wherever it seizes him, it throws him down; he foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth, and becomes rigid. So I spoke to Your disciples, that they should cast it out, but they could not.” He answered him and said, “O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me.” Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth. So He asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood. “And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!” Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, “He is dead.” But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose. Mark 9:17-27

To believe is to accept something as true or real. It is to have firm faith, confidence, or trust. It is to have confidence in the truth or value of something. And if we can believe God He has much for us.   True men and women of God, didn’t trust in what their natural senses feel or see. Their mind isn’t on the temporal but on the eternal. They are aware that those who are for us are greater than those who are against us. They see the invisible realm of heaven with God and His angels to be more real than this temporal realm. They know that just like the angels came and ministered to Jesus they can come and minister to us. They know they can ask the Father at any time to provide them with more than twelve legions of angels, as we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. God’s word is true:

Therefore he sent horses and chariots and a great army there, and they came by night and surrounded the city. And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 2 Kings 6:14-17

Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him. Matthew 4:11

And suddenly, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear. But Jesus said to him, “Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword. “Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels? “How then could the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen thus?” Matthew 26:51-54

The good news is that Jesus, the Great Commander of the Hosts is above all things that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers He is the Lord of the armies, the Chief, the commander of the army of the Lord. He is also the King of Kings, Lord of Lords and God of Gods. God’s word is unchanging:

“For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. Colossians. 1:16

Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, “which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.” Matthew 13:31-32

The kingdom of God which is inside each true believer is a dimension that men cannot see. They cannot see righteousness, peace, joy and the Holy Spirit but it’s something that God’s true children can feel and experience and know! The things in the kingdom of God including miracles are activated by faith in God’s word. God’s answers prayer in His dimension and we call for it, come to Him and get it. We activate His word. We release faith that we will receive, and we will have. If there is sickness or disease, we go to Him knowing that He and paid the price for all sickness and diseases. We go into God’s dimension and take what is ours.

In the kingdom of God if we can believe, things will be for us as we speak. But we must get to a place where we ourselves believe in God and have faith like a mustard seed. The smallest seed in the world produces the largest tree. That mustard seed will provide a tree for shade and birds. Animals will lodge in the trees. If we can just believe and reach out for what God has for us, claiming that this is His word, then it will begin to happen for us. But we must initiate the miracles in our life. We must come to a place and know that Jesus has something to give His people: its belief in Christ. Believe that He is Son of God. Believe that He died, and on the third day He arose from the dead. Believe that He has set us free from bondage and sins – that He forgave our iniquities and took our infirmities. Believe that He has come to give us life more abundantly. And then we can watch and see what He will do to help us when we begin to believe.

We can come to God for miracles and all kinds of things even though our belief is little, like the grain of mustard seed. But He will cause good things to come to pass for us when we believe just like He did for the father whose son was possessed by an unclean spirit, by a deaf and dumb spirit. Yes we can go to Jesus and receive what we have need of. He is the only way into the presence of the Father. He is the Father and Father is Jesus; and the Holy Spirit is in Jesus – for they are all one. God’s word is unchanging:

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? “Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. “Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.   “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 14:5-14

Yes, we can believe that the words of Jesus are true including “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. If we believe what we ask for it will come to pass. God will open wide the portals of heaven and cause us to see what we can behold in Christ. If we can believe, the works that Jesus did we will do also; and greater works than these we will do, because Jesus went to His Father – we will accomplish everything that we set out to do. For Jesus will open the blind eyes. He will raise the dead. He will open up deaf ears. He will do all these things through you; if we can believe. God’s word is unchanging:

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks. By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:1-6

WITH GOD

AHELP FROM HIS SPIRIT

What does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? —Micah 6:8

Many of us make promises to ourselves to mark the beginning of a new year. We make pledges such as I’m going to save more, exercise more, or spend less time on the Internet. We begin the year with good intentions, but before long old habits tempt us to take up our old ways. We slip up occasionally, then more frequently, and then all the time. Finally, it’s as if our resolution never existed.

Instead of choosing our own self-improvement goals, a better approach might be to ask ourselves: “What does the Lord desire of me?” Through the prophet Micah, God has revealed that He wants us to do what is right, to be merciful, and to walk humbly with Him (Mic. 6:8). All of these things relate to soul-improvement rather than self-improvement.

Thankfully, we don’t have to rely on our own strength. The Holy Spirit has the power to help us as believers in our spiritual growth. God’s Word says, He is able to “strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being” (Eph. 3:16 NIV).

So as we begin a new year, let’s resolve to be more Christlike. The Spirit will help us as we seek to walk humbly with God.

Truthful Spirit, dwell with me;
I myself would truthful be;
And with wisdom kind and clear
Let Thy life in mine appear.

He who has the Holy Spirit as his resource has already won the victory.

BE A BLESSING :

Let those who favor my righteous cause and have pleasure in my uprightness shout for joy and be glad, and say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, Who takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant. – Psalm 35:27

If traditional religion has taught you that God wants you poor and oppressed, I have good news for you today. The Bible says, “God takes pleasure” in your prosperity. God wants you to prosper!

Not just in the financial realm but in every area of your life…spirit, soul, and body.

No matter where you are or who you are, God wants to see you delivered from every adverse situation.

Why? Because He loves you and He has a job for you to do. He wants you to help meet the needs of mankind and He’s smart enough to know that you can’t give away what you don’t have. You can’t give to spread the gospel or buy food for the hungry when you’re broke. You can’t go out laying hands on the sick when you’re lying in a hospital bed. You can’t minister joy to others when you’re being held captive by depression. No! You have to be blessed to be a blessing.

If you really want to tap into the riches of God today, make up your mind to be a blessing to others, and before you know it, you’ll be receiving more from God than you ever dreamed.

That’s what happened to me. I decided years ago, first and foremost, to be a giver. I developed a lifestyle of giving. Today, I literally “live to give.” And I don’t mind telling you, God dumps blessings on me by the truckload!

He’ll do the same for you if you’ll become His servant–if you’ll lay down your time and your money and your love for those who need it. Become a giver–and God will take pleasure in prospering you!

Be a believer. Take the limits off of God. Keep your faith stirred up. Believe and declare that you are going to see God’s goodness in amazing ways in 2014!

Make room for something new this year. Go out every day expecting blessings, divine connections & unprecedented favor.

We are never closer to God than when we humble ourselves completely in His presence.

DON’T BUY A LIE :

And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. – Deuteronomy 28:2

Well, in the end I’m sure you’ll see these financial problems are actually a blessing in disguise.” Have you ever heard anybody say that to someone who’s hurting financially? Chances are, you have. It’s a popular idea. The problem is, it’s a lie used by the devil to keep believers down.

As a result, many believers today are suffering one financial defeat after another. So let’s go to the Word of God today and get the issue of prosperity and poverty straight. Let’s find out, once and for all, which is the blessing, which the curse.

You can find the answer to that question in Deuteronomy 28. What God describes in verses 1 through 14 is the blessing–prosperity. In verses 15 through 31, God describes poverty–and He has called it a curse.
The curse is meant to destroy. Not to teach people a lesson. Not to make them more spiritual. But to destroy them.

Regardless of how intense the lack is, the nature of poverty remains the same. It is, and will always be, a curse.

Satan has gone to great lengths to convince God’s people that poverty is a blessing in disguise. But poverty is something the devil contrived!

Don’t buy into his lies. Get your thinking in line with the Word of God. If you’re a born-again child of God, you no longer have to live under the curse of poverty or any other curse for that matter. You’ve been redeemed!

GOD WANTS TO DO A MIRACLE

“Rabbi,” His disciples asked Him, “why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents’ sins?” “It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him.” —John 9:2–3, NLT

I love how our Lord Jesus is such a loving and practical God. When there is a problem, He goes straight to the solution! Before Jesus stepped in to heal the man born blind, his disciples were caught up in uncovering whose sin had made the man blind. Jesus, on the other hand, was interested only in using His power to give the poor man sight! The same way Jesus didn’t get sucked into the “blame game” is the same way He doesn’t want you to. So don’t ask what or whose sin caused your sickness. Forget about what you should or shouldn’t have done or why it happened. Be preoccupied instead with your solution—Jesus Christ, who through the cross has removed every sin in your life and who wants to work a miracle in your body!

Remember God’s promises never fade away. They are too powerful to stop working!

BELIEVE AND RECEIVE :

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24, NIV)

Has God spoken things to your heart that haven’t come to pass yet? Anytime you step out to believe God, the enemy will try to distract and discourage you in order to get you off course. But when you receive that promise by faith, when you hold it in your heart, when you picture it in your mind and declare it with your words, you begin to feel more confident. You feel empowered and settled in your heart. You begin to have joy and peace because you know God is working behind the scenes on your behalf.

I encourage you today, grab hold of the promises of God and don’t let go! Can you see it in your mind’s eye? Can you see yourself healed? Can you see yourself paying off that last debt? Can you see yourself at your ideal weight? Can you see yourself sharing the gospel with a family member or coworker? Ask the Lord to give you a vision for your future. Open your heart and allow His thoughts to become your thoughts. Receive His promises by faith, and just like it says in today’s verse — whatever you ask for in prayer will be yours!

WITH GOD

AI
Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?” So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. “You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ ” And he answered and said to Him, “Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth.” Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.” But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!” And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God! “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, “Who then can be saved?” But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible! Mark 10:17-27

One of the great reasons to be a friend of God’s and to put your trust in Him is that with God all things are possible! And that includes not only salvation of the soul for the word salvation or soteria means being established in “protection, preservation, prosperity, promotions, provisions, soundness, healing, deliverance and the ministry of angels. The Word of God says that confession is made unto salvation! Salvation means deliverance! Deliverance from all sin, sickness, disease, pain, and the works of the devil! God’s word is unchanging:

For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” Romans 10:10-11

When we get into agreement with God and expect to receive by faith in His Word/will, we will be healed, because God said we were healed! God says we are healed, we are healed! We must lay claim to the promise of God! If we do not waver or doubt, we will see the manifestation of the promise of God for us! God’s word is unchanging:

But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. James 1:6-8

So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. Mark 11:22-24

Many people never received the manifestation of their healing because they did not see instant results. They went away disappointed and discouraged believing that God didn’t heal them. The Truth is He did heal them. They just didn’t see immediate results. Sometimes people do not see immediate results. Sometimes it is “as they go” the manifestation occurs. God’s word is true:

Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” 4 So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? “Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.” Luke 17:12 –19

All the ten lepers were cleansed but only the grateful one was made well or whole! It’s is possible to get an impossible miracle from God and still not be made whole body, soul and spirit which God is able to do as well even though God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask pray or think! But we alone determine by our choices and actions what God can or will not do for us. Jesus told the rich young ruler, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.” But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

Yes, it is hard for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God, but not impossible! The things that are not possible with men are possible with God and many times God does strange things to bring about a solution. A Christian woman asked for prayer for her husband to be saved. She expected that he would go to church hear the salvation message and give his heart to the Lord? Instead he started to drink and became a drunk. One day while driving in a drunken stupor, her husband was about to have an accident and hit a pole, so he cried out, “Lord! Save me!” And God saved him from the accident and his soul as well!

With God all things are possible. There is no problem that He cannot solve, no mountain that He cannot move, no sickness that He cannot heal, and no need that He cannot meet! God can do everything for those who have faith in God. His word is unchanging:

By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. Hebrews 11:1-11

ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD

FVAccording To Your Word?

Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. “And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS. “He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. “And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.” Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. “Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. “For with God nothing will be impossible.” Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. Luke 1:30-38

The Word of God tells us that the angel of the Lord came to two different people to tell them that their miracle was coming and yet they reacted in a total different way – one of unbelief and the other of belief. Zacharias was a priest who was educated in the best religious institutions of his day and knew all about the Old Testament and God. He and his wife, a daughter of Aaron, Elizabeth were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. While Mary was a poor uneducated peasant girl who didn’t have all the theological knowledge that this priest had. The bible records:

But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well advanced in years. So it was, that while he was serving as priest before God in the order of his division, according to the custom of the priesthood, his lot fell to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord. And the whole multitude of the people was praying outside at the hour of incense. Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense. And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. “And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth. “For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb. “And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God. “He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” And Zacharias said to the angel, “How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.” And the angel answered and said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and was sent to speak to you and bring you these glad tidings. “But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time.” And the people waited for Zacharias, and marveled that he lingered so long in the temple. But when he came out, he could not speak to them; and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple, for he beckoned to them and remained speechless. And so it was, as soon as the days of his service were completed, that he departed to his own house. Luke 1:7-23

In a way Zacharias was guilty of unbelief because he knew the Old Testament and all the miracles that God had done for His people including miraculously saving them from Egypt, parting the Red Sea and drowning their enemies in the same sea. He knew from Scriptures that God was the God of the impossible and the God of Elijah who brought down fire from heaven, parted the Jordan miraculously, and went to heaven in a chariot of fire. Zacharias and his wife had prayed no doubt for many years that Elizabeth would bear him a son, and when the angel finally came to him and told him that his prayer was answered Zacharias could not believe. He looked at the fact that he was an old man and his wife was well advanced in years rather than the fact that God did the same thing for Abraham and Isaac about whom the Word of God states:

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude-innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore. Hebrews 11:8-12

Zachariah and Elizabeth could not take a step of faith to believe that God had answered their prayer and as a result when Elizabeth conceived; she hid herself five months, saying, “Thus the Lord has dealt with me, in the days when He looked on me, to take away my reproach among people.” However when the angel of the Lord came and told Mary that her prayer was answered and she would have a son, through a virgin birth, her reaction was one of faith. The bible records:

Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. Luke 1:26-38

The angel told Mary that her relative Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. “For with God nothing will be impossible.” And Mary believed the angel and said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. He brought no judgment upon her whatsoever unlike Zacharias about whom the bible records:

Now Elizabeth’s full time came for her to be delivered, and she brought forth a son. When her neighbors and relatives heard how the Lord had shown great mercy to her, they rejoiced with her. So it was, on the eighth day, that they came to circumcise the child; and they would have called him by the name of his father, Zacharias. His mother answered and said, “No; he shall be called John.” But they said to her, “There is no one among your relatives who is called by this name.” So they made signs to his father-what he would have him called. And he asked for a writing tablet, and wrote, saying, “His name is John.” So they all marveled. Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue loosed, and he spoke, praising God. Then fear came on all who dwelt around them; and all these sayings were discussed throughout all the hill country of Judea. And all those who heard them kept them in their hearts, saying, “What kind of child will this be?” And the hand of the Lord was with him.

Now his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying: “Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, For He has visited and redeemed His people, And has raised up a horn of salvation for us In the house of His servant David, As He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets, Who have been since the world began, That we should be saved from our enemies And from the hand of all who hate us, To perform the mercy promised to our fathers And to remember His holy covenant, The oath which He swore to our father Abraham: To grant us that we, Being delivered from the hand of our enemies, Might serve Him without fear, In holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life. “And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Highest; For you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways, To give knowledge of salvation to His people By the remission of their sins, Through the tender mercy of our God, With which the Dayspring from on high has visited us; To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace.”

So the child grew and became strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his manifestation to Israel. Luke 1:57-80

WITH GOD

WALTWith God All Things Are Possible

When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”  But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:25-26

“For with God nothing will be impossible.” Luke 1:37

But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” Luke 18:27

To God the creator of life and of heaven and earth, the things which are impossible with men are possible with Him. As a result the angel of the Lord told a virgin named Mary who didn’t have a husband:

“Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. “For with God nothing will be impossible.” Luke 1:30-37

Even though in the natural it seems impossible to men, with God all things are possible especially when the Holy Spirit gets involved. It’s the Holy Spirit who raised Jesus Christ from the dead after the world and the devil did their worst to Him and restored all things to Him including His glory and honor proving that “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” And the same wonderful Holy Spirit is alive and well today and He is able to do the impossible including making the lame to walk, the blind to see and the terminally ill to be healed just like He did through Jesus and his seventy disciples. God’s word is unchanging:

“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,  To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind,  To set at liberty those who are oppressed;  To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.” Luke 4:18

Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. Luke 9:1-2

Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. “Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:17-20

The power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases comes from the anointing of the Holy Spirit that was on Jesus and the gifts of the Spirit. Throughout the book of Acts, the Holy Spirit came upon numerous followers of Jesus resulting in the manifestations of the gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12, 14). The power and anointing of the Holy Spirit is a gift, not a reward. It is for the purpose of promoting Jesus and bringing salvation, healing and deliverance to God’s people. Through the Holy Spirit Jesus is in the now in the lives and hearts of His people moving and doing miracles on their behalf. The Holy Spirit is the Other Helper that Jesus promised to His sheep (John 14:23-26) He teaches, guides, instructs, helps, anoints, and heals them (Luke 5:17, John 16:7-15, 2 Corinthians 13:14)! Whatever Jesus Christ has done for others He can and will do again because He is the same yesterday, today and forever! God’s will is prosperity for all of His people. God invented and used the word ‘prosperity’ when dealing with His servants and ‘poverty’ when dealing with His enemies (Genesis 26:12-14, 30:40-43, Deuteronomy 28:29, 29:9, 30:5,Joshua 1:7-8, 1 Kings 2:1, 1 Chronicles 29:23,2 Chronicles 13:12, 14:7, 26:5, 2 Chronicles 31:21, Job 26:10-12, Psalm 25:12-14, 35:27, 68:6, Proverbs 28:25, Jeremiah 33:9, Malachi 4:2-3)

When the Jesus departed from his disciples he did not pour the Spirit out onto them the same day. They needed a period of special inner preparation before they were ready for this gift. If God’s people receive God’s blessing without expecting it and without being inwardly prepared for it, they will appreciate neither the gift nor will they hold onto it for long. So God’s people must desire and seek after the Baptism of the Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit. Because it’s a spiritual thing, there is only one way to make spiritual warfare and that is to be baptized with the Holy Ghost, receive the gifts of the Spirit, and use them including discernment, tongues and prophesy. Without the use of the gifts of the Spirit there cannot be any spiritual warfare, miracles, healing or deliverance because God’s word is unchanging:

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:  for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,  to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. 1 Corinthians 12:7-11

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

However there is a spirit that is related to the spirit of fear that deceives and influences people to have doctrines of demons. Such proud and arrogant possessed ones think that carnal knowledge is the way to walk in the Spirit of the Lord.  Such people are devoid of miracles in their lives and the operation of the gifts of the Spirit including speaking in tongues.  They cannot hear or heed the voice of the Spirit except the voices of familiar spirits.  They are self righteous and full of themselves and other spirits and are very contentions, argumentative, unteachable and unyielding. They refuse to see that they need to be delivered from familiar spirits and their lies and influences.

Yes, some Christians refuse to accept that afflictions and sickness are oppressions of the devil and they can be healed off them. Yes, there are those Christians who say that only Jesus Christ is important and nothing else and they are suffering for Jesus sake, His suffering. Even though by Jesus stripes they were healed and He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.  They literally don’t fellowship with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. They don’t know and experience the love of the Father or the comfort of the Holy Spirit. Their faith is composed on solely knowledge of the written Word of God. They forgot that the new birth is not known solely by knowledge but solely by experience. Yes, through the avenue of faith, they believed on Jesus, called on His name and were saved and He gave them an experience call the new birth or being born again. They didn’t go on to being Baptized by Jesus Christ, the Baptizer in the Holy Spirit with fire and tongues of fire, because it’s an emotional experience which doesn’t make sense to their carnal mind. But being born again is an emotional in body experience and so is the Baptism of the Spirit and operating in the gifts of the Spirit and is not based solely on intellect!

Then there are others who have experienced the Baptism of the Spirit and only relate to the Holy Spirit solely on the basis of power, gifts, shaking, electricity, someone falling down under the power. While others relate to the Holy Spirit in the context of the work He does for us, or the times He gives us a word of wisdom, knowledge or prophecy, we grieve Him. But the Holy Spirit is a person who wants to be loved, accepted and fellowship with us as a unique person just like each one of us wants to do as a unique person and not just some creature or entity.  Understanding the Person of the Holy Spirit, having an encounter with Him, worshipping, respecting, embracing the Holy Spirit and loving Him in His function are the keys that will bring His power and anointing on our lives. We need to have on going visitations and relationships with the Holy Spirit.

The Bible tell us is to worship “God”—the Father, Son and Holy Spirit—the Godhead. We must worship each of them and that means we should relax and enjoy worshipping the Holy Spirit. We must fellowship with the Holy Spirit and  not grieve Him. God’s word is unchanging:

Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied. Acts 9:31

Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. 1 Corinthians 10:20

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.  Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.  And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:30-32

Yes, when we are full of God, the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, it will come out of us including love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness, self-control and not uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,  envy. As God’s word is unchanging:

“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.  Luke 6:45

He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:  who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.   And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.  John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ ” And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.  For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:11-17

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. 2 Corinthians 13:14

If we have an intimate bond and relationship with the Holy Spirit we will be able to know and do many things that are humanly impossible because it’s what God does through us that matters and not we do in the flesh. We will be surrounded by God’s presence and glory and people will know and experience not only that something is different about us but God Himself.  That is why the bible records about healing and Peter’s shadow:

And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women,  so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them.  Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed. Acts 5:14-16

Yes, we must honor and give proper place in our lives to our my Wonderful Counselor, the Spirit of Truth and be totally dependent upon Him for everything including guiding  us into all truth and delivering us from lies of men and demon!  We must consciously acknowledge His presence in everything that we would and ask Him to possess us and direct us so that we will walk Him in all things.  Then we will know the blessing of partnership with the Holy Spirit as we bring the saving, healing, delivering power of Jesus to the world. We need to present ourselves, all of us  to the Holy Spirit and line ourselves up with Him. We have to keep asking Him to help us; we can’t accomplish the purposes of God on our own, apart from His guidance.  God’s word is unchanging”

“If you love Me, keep My commandments. “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-  “the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. John 14:15-17

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.  “And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:  “of sin, because they do not believe in Me; “of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more;  “of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.  “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.  “He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. “All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you. John 16:7-15

My Jesus is a Man of War
(Exodus 15:3, . Revelation 19:11, Author Unknown)

Some think of Jesus calm and shy
And quite as a mouse.
But I see Jesus as my Lord
And guard of all my house.

Some say He’s tender, meek and mild
And doesn’t raise His voice.
But I can see Him charge through Hell
To give to man his choice.

Some say His hands are always clean
He won’t let His feelings show.
But I can see Him roll His sleeves
And fight off every foe.

My Jesus walks  through Hell itself
To set the captives free.
My Jesus upturned the table tops
To gain His victory.

He bore my sins upon a cross
My sorrows in His hand.
My whipping for unrighteousness
My pain He did withstand.

He took my stripes to make me well
My crown of thorns He wore.
And all my fears He crucified
And all my shame He bore.

My Jesus is a Man of men,
A Warrior brave and bold.
My King of Kings and Lord of Lords
Yes, He all Victory gives and holds.

WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE

the eternal god

With God All Things Are Possible!

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”  Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” Mark 9:23-24

But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.” Mark 10:27

The things that are impossible with men are possible with God, for God always was and will be a miracle working God. A miracle can be defined as God’s underserved goodness and grace to do something impossible for His friends, be it parting the Red Sea, raising Lazarus from the dead or giving sight to the blind. Nothing is too hard or too difficult for God!  All things are possible to him who believes! The words “all things” are not restricted by God, even though they might be restricted by dust mites who are here today and gone tomorrow. Yet God’s word is unchanging:

Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!  Bless the LORD, O my soul,  And forget not all His benefits:  Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction,  Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,  Who satisfies your mouth with good things,  So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.  The LORD executes righteousness  And justice for all who are oppressed. Psalm 103:1-6

Be glad then, you children of Zion,  And rejoice in the LORD your God;  For He has given you the former rain faithfully,  And He will cause the rain to come down for you- The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month.  The threshing floors shall be full of wheat,  And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil. “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten,  The crawling locust,  The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you.  You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied,  And praise the name of the LORD your God,  Who has dealt wondrously with you;  And My people shall never be put to shame.

Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the LORD your God And there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame. Joel 2:23-27

Just for the asking in faith believing God’s children can have all His benefits, including the forgiveness of all their iniquities, healing of all their diseases, redemption of their life from destruction, being crowned with loving kindness and tender mercies, being satisfied with good things, so that their youth is renewed like the eagle’s and obtaining righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.

Total and complete salvation, healing, deliverance, blessings and prosperity is the will of God for His people. As His word is unchanging to those who believe:

“When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the LORD your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt. “So it shall be, when you are on the verge of battle, that the priest shall approach and speak to the people. “And he shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel: Today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies. Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them;  ‘for the LORD your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.’ Deuteronomy 20:1-4

“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.  “And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God:

“Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country. “Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.  “Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.  “Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.

“The LORD will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.

“The LORD will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you.

The LORD will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways. “Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they shall be afraid of you.

“And the LORD will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the LORD swore to your fathers to give you.

“The LORD will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.

“And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them. Deuteronomy 28:1-13

Jesus Christ’s victory on the cross of Calvary has provided God’s people with totally one hundred percent victory over all their enemies – be it lack, poverty, sickness, diseases, sin, death, or demons. It’s all theirs by faith in the One who died for them and rose from the dead – Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God and their Savior, Healer, Deliverer, Redeemer and Baptizer in the Holy Spirit!  For God’s word is true:

“And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;  Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,  Your old men shall dream dreams,  Your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.

“And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth:  Blood and fire and pillars of smoke.  The sun shall be turned into darkness,  And the moon into blood,  Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.  And it shall come to pass  That whoever calls on the name of the LORD  Shall be saved.  For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance,  As the LORD has said,  Among the remnant whom the LORD calls. Joel 2:29-32

“The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree.  “Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. “And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.” Acts 5:30-32

Salvation, deliverance, healing, prosperity and the Holy Spirit are given to those who believe and obey the God of the impossible and plenty. As God’s word is unchanging:

When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!”  And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.”

Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.”

And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying, “See that no one knows it.”

But when they had departed, they spread the news about Him in all that country. Matthew 9:27-31

CHRISTIAN ZIONISM https://walthope.wordpress.com/2013/05/10/christian-zionism/

WITH GOD!

WITH GOD THINGS CAN CHANGE EVEN IN A MINUTE

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.   By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days.  By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace. And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets:  who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Hebrews 11:29-34

Faith in God not only assures us of things we expect and convinces us of the existence of things we cannot see but enables to see and do the impossible! The bible clearly tells us that those who have faith in God will get results that others will not. As a result the Children of Israel by passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned. By faith Joshua, Samson and David subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, became valiant in battle, and turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

The secret to Joshua and King David success and victories was not only their courage but they took their orders from their Commander in Chief –  The Lord.  Joshua as a brilliant general had his own ideas on how to take the mighty walled city of Jericho but the LORD Himself appeared to Him and told him what was to be done. The bible records:

Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out, and none came in. And the LORD said to Joshua: “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor. “You shall march around the city, all you men of war; you shall go all around the city once. This you shall do six days.  “And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. But the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets. “It shall come to pass, when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, that all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the wall of the city will fall down flat. And the people shall go up every man straight before him.” Joshua 1:1-5

Joshua obtained his victory over his enemies not only because he was a man of faith and bold and courageous but he listened to the LORD and the instructions that He gave and obeyed.  The truth that obedience to the voice of the LORD is seen though out the bible; including in the life of David who faced one of the most devastating crisis in his life.

David his men came to Ziklag, to find that the Amalekites had invaded the South and Ziklag, attacked Ziklag and burned it with fire,  and had taken captive the women and those who were there, from small to great; they did not kill anyone, but carried them away and went their way. It was very distressing to find their wives, their sons, and their daughters had been taken captive. So David and the people who were with him lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more power to weep.
David was also greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God and inquired of the LORD Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.

And because David heard from the LORD He pursued and recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away, and rescued his two wives. And nothing of theirs was lacking, either small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything which they had taken from them; David recovered all.

Now the good news is the LORD has not changed one bit, He is with us to save us and to deliver us and to help us recover all that the enemy has stolen from us, be it money, health, or our good name. He is just as much for us as He was for David. His word is unchanging:

The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.  The LORD preserves all who love Him, But all the wicked He will destroy. Psalm 145:18-20

I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope.  My soul waits for the Lord  More than those who watch for the morning- Yes, more than those who watch for the morning. O Israel, hope in the LORD;  For with the LORD there is mercy, And with Him is abundant redemption.  And He shall redeem Israel From all his iniquities. Psalms 130:5-8

Do not say, “I will recompense evil”;  Wait for the LORD, and He will save you. Proverbs 20:22

Now skeptics and scoffers don’t believe that faith in God will open up windows in heaven and as a result they don’t see the impossible. But the bible has many examples of what expectantly waiting on the Lord and hope in His word for His plenteous redemption and deliverance and what it shall accomplish. One of my favorite stories is about when Elisha and the children of Judah were besieged by the enemy and were starving. Ben-Hadad king of Syria had gathered all his army, and went up and besieged Samaria.  As a result there was a great famine in Samaria; and indeed they besieged it until a donkey’s head was sold for eighty shekels of silver, and one-fourth of a kab of dove droppings for five shekels of silver. However Elisha the prophet said:

“Hear the word of the LORD. Thus says the LORD: ‘Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.’ ” So an officer on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God and said, “Look, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, could this thing be?” And he said, “In fact, you shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it.” 2 Kings 7:1-2

God does nothing on earth unless He reveals it to His prophets. But God has also stated that those who despise the word of His prophets, He will require of them. So the officer who was the right hand man of the king put his life in jeopardy when he despised Elisha’s prophetic words. (It’s true that some foolish men just do not learn and accept God’s word on some matters and they pay for their deeds even with their lives.)  God’s word goes on to state:

Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, “Why are we sitting here until we die? “If we say, ‘We will enter the city,’ the famine is in the city, and we shall die there. And if we sit here, we die also. Now therefore, come, let us surrender to the army of the Syrians. If they keep us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall only die.” And they rose at twilight to go to the camp of the Syrians; and when they had come to the outskirts of the Syrian camp, to their surprise no one was there.
For the LORD had caused the army of the Syrians to hear the noise of chariots and the noise of horses-the noise of a great army; so they said to one another, “Look, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians to attack us!” Therefore they arose and fled at twilight, and left the camp intact-their tents, their horses, and their donkeys-and they fled for their lives.
And when these lepers came to the outskirts of the camp, they went into one tent and ate and drank, and carried from it silver and gold and clothing, and went and hid them; then they came back and entered another tent, and carried some from there also, and went and hid it. 2 Kings 7:3-8

The lepers had enough of their circumstance and situation and decided they were going to act and do something even if it would cost them their lives.  (Yes, many times God’s bring His people to a place where they must walk on the water or sink. It is in such times that they find the miracle working power of God to be true and see that the Lord is the Lord and that He does what He has said He would do to bless, protect and preserve His own.  For after all He is the Lord and He loves to bless and prosper His own even miraculously with the spoils of war from their enemies, just like He did for these lepers.)  God’s word records:

Then they said to one another, “We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news, and we remain silent. If we wait until morning light, some punishment will come upon us. Now therefore, come, let us go and tell the king’s household.” So they went and called to the gatekeepers of the city, and told them, saying, “We went to the Syrian camp, and surprisingly no one was there, not a human sound-only horses and donkeys tied, and the tents intact.”

And the gatekeepers called out, and they told it to the king’s household inside. So the king arose in the night and said to his servants, “Let me now tell you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we are hungry; therefore they have gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, ‘When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and get into the city.’ ”
And one of his servants answered and said, “Please, let several men take five of the remaining horses which are left in the city. Look, they may either become like all the multitude of Israel that are left in it; or indeed, I say, they may become like all the multitude of Israel left from those who are consumed; so let us send them and see.” Therefore they took two chariots with horses; and the king sent them in the direction of the Syrian army, saying, “Go and see.”
And they went after them to the Jordan; and indeed all the road was full of garments and weapons which the Syrians had thrown away in their haste. So the messengers returned and told the king. Then the people went out and plundered the tents of the Syrians. So a seah of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the LORD. 2 Samuel 7:9-16

Men are not accustomed to believing God, walking by faith and not by sight and trusting His word and those of His true prophets, even though Elisha had said that God would provide a miraculous deliverance. So they would not believe the words of the Lepers until they could see things for themselves with their natural eyes instead of their spiritual eyes.  But the fact of the matter remains that the officer who scorned Elisha’s words paid with his life for his foolish actions. It doesn’t pay to be arrogant and proud and a respecter of persons for  God’s word records:

Now the king had appointed the officer on whose hand he leaned to have charge of the gate. But the people trampled him in the gate, and he died, just as the man of God had said, who spoke when the king came down to him. So it happened just as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, “Two seahs of barley for a shekel, and a seah of fine flour for a shekel, shall be sold tomorrow about this time in the gate of Samaria.”
Then that officer had answered the man of God, and said, “Now look, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, could such a thing be?” And he had said, “In fact, you shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it.” And so it happened to him, for the people trampled him in the gate, and he died.

Men have a lot of foolish ideas which they make as doctrines but God’s word does not lie and God has not changed. We see from the Word of God that God weighed and judged the actions of the lepers and the arrogant officer. The lepers were blessed and the officer was cursed!  So who is to say that God does not do such things today? For after all He is the Lord, the Judge of the whole earth and His eyes are on each and every one to render to each one according to his work. For God’s word is true:

‘Now see that I, even I, am He, And there is no God besides Me;  I kill and I make alive;  I wound and I heal;  Nor is there any who can deliver from My hand.  For I raise My hand to heaven,  And say, “As I live forever, If I whet My glittering sword,  And My hand takes hold on judgment, I will render vengeance to My enemies,  And repay those who hate Me. I will make My arrows drunk with blood, And My sword shall devour flesh,  With the blood of the slain and the captives,  From the heads of the leaders of the enemy.” ‘  “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people; For He will avenge the blood of His servants, And render vengeance to His adversaries;  He will provide atonement for His land and His people.”  Deuteronomy 32:39-41

And it will be said in that day: “Behold, this is our God; We have waited for Him, and He will save us.  This is the LORD; We have waited for Him; We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.”  Isaiah 25:9
For since the beginning of the world Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, Nor has the eye seen any God besides You,  Who acts for the one who waits for Him. Isaiah 64:4
