THE GIFT OF TONGUES

NEVER RIDICULE THE SPEAKING IN AN UNKNOWN TONGUE AS IS BEEN RELEGATED OF NO IMPORTANCE IN THE RELIGIOUS CIRCLE. Mark:3:28-29:Truly {and} solemnly I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever abusive {and} blasphemous things they utter; But whoever speaks abusively against {or} maliciously misrepresents the Holy Spirit can never get forgiveness, but is guilty of {and} is in the grasp of an everlasting trespass.

A CHRISTIAN WITHOUT THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS LIKE A BODY WITHOUT SPIRIT. Luke:24:49 And behold, I will send forth upon you what My Father has promised; but remain in the city [Jerusalem] until you are clothed with power from on high. Mark:3:11 I indeed baptize you in (with) water because of repentance [that is, because of your changing your minds for the better, heartily amending your ways, with abhorrence of your past sins]. But He Who is coming after me is mightier than I, Whose sandals I am not worthy {or} fit to take off {or} carry; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST OBLIGATED US TO SPEAK IN AN UNKNOWN TONGUE:Mark:16:17 And these attesting signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages.

WHEN WE SPEAK IN AN UNKNOWN TONGUE, WE SPEAK DIRECT TO OUR HEAVENLY FATHER, AND NO DEMON FROM PIT OF HELL THAT CAN INTERRUPT OUR DIRECT COMMUNICATION WITH OUR HEAVENLY FATHER. 1Cor:14:2 For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God, for no one understands {or} catches his meaning, because in the [Holy] Spirit he utters secret truths {and} hidden things [not obvious to the understanding].

SPEAKING IN AN UNKNOWN TONGUE IS THE BEST WAY TO EDIFY OURSELVES AND BUILD OURSELVES UP IN THE SPIRITUAL REALM. 1Cor:14:4 He who speaks in a [strange] tongue edifies {and} improves himself, but he who prophesies [interpreting the divine will and purpose and teaching with inspiration] edifies {and} improves the church {and} promotes growth [in Christian wisdom, piety, holiness, and happiness]. Jude:1:20 But you, beloved, build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy faith [make progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], praying in the Holy Spirit.

THE GIFT OF TONGUE IS AVAILABLE TO EVERY BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN,AND ALL WHAT WE NEED TO DO IS TO DESIRE IT, AND OUR HEAVENLY FATHER WILL RELEASE THE GIFT. Luke:11:13 If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good gifts [gifts that are to their advantage] to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask {and} continue to ask Him!

IF WE WANT TO LIVE A LIFE OF REST, IT’S BY PRAYING IN TONGUE.ALLOWING THE HOLY SPIRIT TO DO ALL THE PRAYER BY GIVING US UTTERANCES AS HE PLEASES. Rom:8:26-27:So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid {and} bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer {nor} how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication {and} pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings {and} groanings too deep for utterance. And He Who searches the hearts of men knows what is in the mind of the [Holy] Spirit [what His intent is], because the Spirit intercedes {and} pleads [before God] in behalf of the saints according to {and} in harmony with God’s will.

TO HAVE A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST IS ONLY BY THE LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST SAID THAT OUT OF OUR BELLY SHALL FLOW THE RIVERS OF LIVING WATER. John:7:37-39:Now on the final and most important day of the Feast, Jesus stood, and He cried in a loud voice, If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink!mHe who believes in Me [who cleaves to {and} trusts in {and} relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs {and} rivers of living water. But He was speaking here of the Spirit, Whom those who believed (trusted, had faith) in Him were afterward to receive. For the [Holy] Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified (raised to honor).

SOME PEOPLE ARE NOT AWARE THAT EVEN OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST SPOKE IN AN UNKNOWN TONGUE. WHEN OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST SPOKE AND THE PEOPLE AROUND COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT HE SAID UNTIL IT WAS INTERPRETED TO THEM, THAT SHOWS THAT HE SPOKE IN AN UNKNOWN TONGUE. Mark 5:41:And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. Mark 15:34And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Mark 7:34:And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.

THE ABOVE VERSES SHOWS THAT AFTER OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST SPOKE,IT HAS TO BE INTERPRETED FOR PEOPLE AROUND HIM TO UNDERSTAND WHAT HE SAID, AND WHENEVER OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST SPOKE IN AN UNKNOWN TONGUE, A MIRACLE ALWAYS FOLLOW. SO IF ANY CHRISTIAN WANT TO LIVE IN A SUPERNATURAL REALMS, THEY CAN DO IT IN CARNALITY BUT ONLY IN THE SPIRIT.

UPDATE: Alberta extends state of emergency in Calgary as flood cleanup continues

CALGARY – Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s wife Laureen joined the legion of volunteers helping clean up flood-damaged homes in Calgary Wednesday.

Starting in the heavily damaged Mission neighbourhood, Harper spent a couple hours helping clear waste and debris pulled from people’s homes into waiting garbage trucks.

From there, she and Calgary-Centre MP Joan Crockatt headed to Roxboro where they formed part of an assembly line of volunteers emptying flood-ravaged basements.

Harper said she can fully empathize with those who lost everything, having experienced something similar when her family’s Turner Valley, Alta., home was destroyed by flooding in 1980.

CALGARY – When a friend of Cochrane, Alta., resident Trent Field asked for help pumping out his father’s flooded home, he and his family went above and beyond.“I said, ‘You know what? I’ll be there tomorrow with my hydrovac,'” said Field.The only problem was the truck, along with a bunch of other equipment, was in Saskatchewan, where Field and his wife Shannon are from and own a business.That didn’t stop them,
On Friday, Field flew to Saskatoon, grabbed a ride up to Prince Albert, Sask., and picked up his Unimog truck with gear.

Meanwhile, his brother Jason Field and Jason’s 15-year-old son Cody Field packed up the hydrovac in Saskatoon and the three of them hit the road early Saturday, arriving in Calgary that afternoon.

They went straight to work in the neighbourhoods of Mission and Rideau Park, pumping out people’s homes free of charge, and they haven’t stopped since.

The guys have been working up to 18- and 20-hour days, said Trent, surviving off about four hours of sleep each night.

Meanwhile, Shannon has been helping people clean out their flooded basements and feeding residents.

She and Trent were at a church service just days before the flood hit, she said, where the message was to serve others graciously.

“All of a sudden, this came up,” she said. “We felt blessed we had to resources and opportunity to help.”

Jason and Cody were supposed to fly home Tuesday morning so Cody could finish school, but following a call from his teacher saying he wouldn’t have to write a final test, the father-son duo elected to stay and, on Tuesday afternoon, the remainder of their family was en route from Saskatchewan – “with their boots” – to help.

Jason teared up talking about the reception from the people living in homes his family has helped clean, which, as of Tuesday afternoon, was between 35 and 40.

“There’s been a lot of thank-yous, a lot of hugs,” he said. “There’s going to be a lot of places to drink beer next time I’m in Calgary, that’s for sure.”

Trent said the family plans to keep helping as long as there’s a need.

Added Shannon, “I think it restores people’s faith in humanity. People, at heart, want to help.”

Meanwhile, local plumbing company Action Auger is offering to pump flood victims’ basements in Calgary and surrounding areas including High River, free of charge.

Acts 2:22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know —

Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

Acts 8:6 And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

Acts 10: 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Acts 15:12 Then all the multitude kept silent and listened to Barnabas and Paul declaring how many miracles and wonders God had worked through them among the Gentiles.

Acts 19:11 Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul,

1 Corinthians 12:10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

28 And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.

Galatians 3:5 Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? —

Hebrews 2:4 God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will

“GOD COVERS THOSE WHO REPENT AND EXPOSES THOSE WHO COVER THEIR SIN.”

When you admit your sin, your failures, your shortcomings, your wrong attitudes, your spiteful thoughts, and your inappropriate responses–anything that shows you are putting your ego above God’s will…the blood of Jesus covers your sin until it cleanse you. Therefore the world sees only JESUS.

On the other hand, whenever you hide your sin, God must first bring you to repentance before He can cover you. Sometimes He uncovers your sin before the world, using the shame of exposure as part of His work in your heart. He would prefer to teach and chasten you privately, but He will do so publicly if you do not respond to the gentle conviction of His Holy Spirit. To the Lord, your relationship with Him is infinitely more important–and definitely more eternal in consequence than your reputation or any discomfort you ma feel.

“You cannot have the benefits of God’s power while sin still rules in your heart. Sharing His blessings demands that you surrender completely to His Lordship. You must allow the Holy Spirit to touch the hardness of your heart before you can experience God’s power flowing through you freely and unrestricted.”

Don’t Sweat It, Rest!

Then she said, “Sit still, my daughter, until you know how the matter will turn out; for the man will not rest until he has concluded the matter this day.” Ruth 3:18

God does not want you to “sweat”. Sweat here does not refer to your body’s perspiration, but your self-reliance or self-effort. God does not want you to believe that if you don’t do anything, nothing will happen. That may be true for someone without God in his life, but it is not true for you because you have God. And when He is in the picture, the God-factor changes everything!

When you are resting in God, He works for you. In fact, when He works, you end up with more. He is the one who is giving to you. It is not about you trying to give to yourself.

This was what happened to Ruth in the Old Testament. After laboring in the barley fields from morning to evening, she was able to glean one ephah of barley (Ruth 2:17), which was equivalent to a 10-day supply of barley. Certainly, this amount was a blessing to her.

But when she rested at the feet of Boaz, her kinsman-redeemer, and did not labor, she received six ephahs of barley (Ruth 3:15), which was equivalent to a 60-day supply! When Ruth sought her own blessing, she obtained only one ephah. But when she sought the blesser, she received much more.

Ruth’s blessings did not stop there. While Ruth rested and sat still as her mother-in-law Naomi had instructed, Boaz, who was the owner of the barley field, went to work, initiating actions, executing them and speaking on Ruth’s behalf. Right through it all, Ruth sat still and rested. Eventually, Boaz, the barley man himself, married Ruth. (Ruth 4) That meant no more measured wealth of six ephahs, but the yield of the whole barley field in total!

Boaz is a picture of Jesus, our heavenly kinsman-redeemer. When we rest in the Lord, He will not rest. He will work on our behalf. What do we do then? We just trust in and enjoy His love for us.

Beloved, stop striving and be at rest. If salvation, the greatest work, comes to us by resting in Jesus’ finished work, how much more will all the other blessings?

Live and Walk in the Spirit

There is much preaching and working with little spiritual result. It is owning to nothing but this that there is too little prayer, especially that much availing prayer that brings down the power from on high. Without the baptism of the Holy Spirit, prayer is not likely to produce results. Murray

It’s not enough to know about our heavenly rights. We must know how to exercise them. It is important to take the time to devote to study and prayer, so we can understand for ourselves the things we hear so much about in church.

Some do not understand what it means to walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:25 says, “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” As a young Christian, I thought that living in the Spirit and walking in the Spirit meant the same thing. But if it did mean the same thing, the Bible wouldn’t say, “If you live in the Spirit, THEN ALSO walk in the Spirit.”

In the original language, live and walk are two very different words. The word live simply means to have life, to breathe.

The word walk is a much stronger word. It means arrange in a regular line, march in military rank, to keep step, to conform to virtue and piety, and to walk orderly. The word walk is a much stronger word that talks about discipline and conduct. To live in the Spirit is something that you simply are. To walk in the Spirit is something that you have to learn how to do.

Those who only live in the Spirit, but don’t walk in the Spirit, are the people who have received salvation and are no longer classified as spiritually dead. They are saved, but there is little fruit in their lives. They have not developed spiritually. But those who walk in the Spirit are the people that have actually disciplined themselves to the point of becoming Christ-like. If there are areas of sin in our lives and they are not confronted and dealt with, they will forever serve as weights to keep us from reaching our full potential in Christ. (Heb. 12:1.)

Can you hear God’s voice? Are you sensitive to the Holy Spirit? The majority of Christians today would probably answer yes to both of these questions. You have probably had experiences that clearly prove that you can hear God. But, how many areas are there in your life where you know you are still walking according to the flesh? How many areas are there in your life where you know that you have not yet renewed your mind according to the Word of God? Some in the Body of Christ, in spite of the fact that they live in the Spirit, have not yet learned to walk in the Spirit.

Galatians 5:25 says walk in the Spirit, and it literally means conduct yourself according to the Spirit. If you want your life to bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit, you must understand that this fruit will not just fall out of the sky and into your life one day. You have to make a determined effort that you are going to live for the kingdom of God.

The Holy Spirit is here to help you succeed, but you must make the choice to live for God’s kingdom. You must not be willing to settle for anything less. You must be determined in your heart to have God’s perfect will for your life. It is only through concentration, meditation, discipline, and prayer that we can learn to walk in the Spirit

GOD DOESN’T CHANGE!

Not only does God always heal; He has already provided healing for every person on the earth, just as He has provided forgiveness of sins and redemption.

God does not change. He is the Lord that heals us (Ex. 15:26), the Lord who sent His Word to heal us (Ps. 107:20), the Lord who forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases (Ps. 103:1-3), the Lord who bore our sicknesses on the cross (Isa. 53:4-5), the Lord who healed all who came to Him (Matt. 8:16), the Lord who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil for God was with Him (Acts 10:38), the Lord who set the church against sickness and commanded us to go and to heal the sick (Matt. 10:8), the Lord who told us that greater works would we do (John 14:12), the Lord who gives us power to lay hands on the sick and they recover (Mark 16:18), the Lord who confirms His Word with signs following (Mark 16:20), the Lord who healed the sick in the early church through the ministries of Peter, Paul and other believers (Acts), the Lord who gives gifts of healings to the church for the church age (1 Cor. 12:9), and the Lord who asks through James if there are any sick among us (James 5:14).

In accordance with Matthew 18:19, we can set ourselves in agreement with true authentic Christians and release our faith that we are healed according to God’s perfect will. Our relationship with God is the key to receiving His blessings in our life. The closer we draw to Him, the more wisdom and understanding He will impart to we so that we might have the faith and knowledge we need at any time.

We can pray in the Spirit according to Romans 8:26, “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

We are to remember Hebrews 10:35 “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.” Also Hebrews 6:12, and be “followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”

YES YOU ARE HEALED IN JESUS NAME

Today many people are suffering in pain and different sickness. My friend you might have been taking medicine for a long time. But you need not be in that condition anymore. You may ask how? Well the word of God is clear. 3John 1:2 says: “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” So this means God wants your well being physical as well as spiritual. The thing is many people have a wrong conception that sickness come from God. No dear friend God wants you well. That’s why he sent Jesus to die on the cross for you so that you will have eternal life and your health restored. Isaiah 53:6 says: “By His stripes we are healed.” Notice it doesn’t say you will be healed. It is already done. The moment you accepted Jesus the healing has come inside you. You may say I don’t see it. Well look at yourself well on the inside and you will soon see the miracle. Never lose hope. Don’t listen to the lie of the devil. Whatever sickness it can’t stay in your body because you are His child. You are the temple of the Holy Spirit. No sickness can touch you. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you. So say I am healed and no sickness can touch me. See yourself healed daily. Thank him for the healing and soon enough you will receive the deliverance.

Father in the name of Jesus I pray for all those who are sick in the bodies or even suffering from mental distress. Lord you know their sickness. Your word says by your stripes we are healed. Yes lord I claim this healing into all my friends’ life. Right now let your healing power fill them and let them be made whole now in Jesus name. All sickness have to bow down at the name Of Jesus. Jesus I speak healing right now. Thank you for healing. Thank you for your deliverance. In Jesus name Amen.

HOW TO BE A VERY EFFECTIVE AND SUCCESSFUL WITNESS FOR CHRIST?

WELL JESUS GAVE US THE ANSWER? HE TOLD US TO STEP ASIDE AND LET THE HOLY SPIRIT DO IT!

LUKE 21:12 But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake.
13 But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony.
14 Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer;
15 for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist.
16 You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death.
17 And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake.
18 But not a hair of your head shall be lost.
19 By your patience possess your souls.

Sickness, disease, and poverty are just names and they have to bow down to the name of Jesus

WHAT DO DEAD ANEMIC IMPOTENT RELIGIOUS ONES DO TO MEN WHO ARE FULL OF FAITH AND THE HOLY SPIRIT?

THEY LIE AND SET UP FALSE WITNESS. IN OTHER WORDS THEY CHARACTER ASSASSINATE THE MESSENGER AS THEY DON’T LIKE THE MESSAGE AS THEY ARE DEMONIZED AND RESIST THE HOLY SPIRIT JUST LIKE THEY DID TO STEPHEN:

MANY SO CALLED CHRISTIANS ARE IN SERIOUS ERROR IF NOT IN SIN AND REBELLION BY NEGLECTING THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT BECAUSE THEY TOTAL DISOBEYED 1 CORINTHIANS 12 AND 14 WHICH APOSTLE PAUL WROTE AND STATED ARE THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD:

1 CORINTHIANS 12:
1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant:
2 You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led.
3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.
4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:
8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,
9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,
10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

1 CORINTHIANS 14:
1 Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.
2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
3 But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.
4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.

THE REAL SICKNESS AND SIN TODAY IN CHRISTENDOM IS THAT VERY FEW PEOPLE INCLUDING CHRISTIANS THINK THEY HAVE TO REPENT ESPECIALLY AS A GRACE GARBAGE IS PREACHED THAT EVERYTHING IS AND HAS BEEN FORGIVABLE! NOBODY DEMANDS PROPER REPENTANCE WITH RESTITUTION AND GOOD WORKS EVEN THOUGH JESUS OFTEN TALKED ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF SELF DIAGNOSIS AND REPENTANCE

REPENTANCE IS MORE THAN deep sorrow, compunction, or contrition for a past sin, wrongdoing, or the like. OR regret for any past action. THERE MUST BE REAL CHANGES AND APPROPRIATE PROPER WORKS AS DEMONSTRATED BY THE REPENTANT CHIEF TAX COLLECTOR ZACCHAEUS

LUKE 19:1 Then Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.

2 Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.

3 And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature.

THE BIBLE TELLS US TO LIVE AND WALK IN THE SPIRIT NOT THE FLESH

Galatians 3:3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?

Galatians 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Philippians 3:3 For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh, 4 though I also might have confidence in the flesh. If anyone else thinks he may have confidence in the flesh, I more so:

SHEPHERDS

SHEPHERDS DON’T WANT TO BE CORRECTED AS THEY HAVE A HIDDEN AGENDA

When God sends a prophet to speak out correction in a church, what is the usual result? The prophet is sent away in disgrace, for what shepherd will stand for correction these days?

And the purpose of the Spirit gifts becomes entertainment for feel good moments, while the devil and his cohorts laugh at the powerless sheep who know nothing about spiritual warfare. They know nothing about it because they are caught in never ending milque-toast and elderberry wine sermons of how to enjoy life, not how to defeat the enemy of their souls.

And when a shepherd actually tries to step out and teach about the enemy’s wiles, he is attacked by the brethren, those preachers who are afraid to learn truth not taught in seminary.

Let’s look at that verse where the shepherd is supposed to leave the 99 and go after the lost one before it is devoured by wolves. Shepherds take that to mean they should go out and find new converts. But that whole context shows that lost sheep ALREADY had belonged to that flock, and the pastor needs to go after the one HE LOST! But do they? No, they are blamed for leaving and getting devoured by wolves. Now, if the pastor taught truth, even about the enemy, perhaps the sheep never would have gone astray.

Shepherds do not let their lambs grow up to be sheep, if they can help it. If they do happen to grow up, they become unwelcome, for they will have seen the folly they are being taught

DECLARATION IS IMPORTANT

Daniel 4:2 I thought it good to declare the signs and wonders that the Most High God has worked for me.

Micah 3:8 But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the LORD, And of justice and might, To declare to Jacob his transgression And to Israel his sin.

Zechariah 9:12 Return to the stronghold, You prisoners of hope. Even today I declare That I will restore double to you.

Matthew 7:23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Matthew 12:18 ” Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen, My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit upon Him, And He will declare justice to the Gentiles.

John 16:14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

SERIOUS ERROR

MANY SO CALLED CHRISTIANS ARE IN SERIOUS ERROR IF NOT IN SIN AND REBELLION BY NEGLECTING THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT BECAUSE THEY TOTAL DISOBEYED 1 CORINTHIANS 12 AND 14 WHICH APOSTLE PAUL WROTE AND STATED ARE THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD:

1 CORINTHIANS 12:

1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant:

2 You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led.

3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord.

6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.

7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:

8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,

9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,

10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

1 CORINTHIANS 14:

1 Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.

2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.

3 But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.

4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.

5 I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification.

37 If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are the commandments of the Lord.

38 But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant.

39 Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues.

40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

THEY MUST REPENT FOR DISOBEYING THE COMMANDMENT OF THE LORD

BECAUSE DANIEL WAS A PRAYING MAN READ WHAT GOD DID TO HIS ENEMIES:

ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHAPTER’S IN THE BIBLE IS PRAYING DANIEL IN THE LION’S DEN. NOT BECAUSE HE GOT DELIVERED BUT BECAUSE THE LIONS ATE HIS ENEMIES AND FAMILIES

7 All the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions.

12 And they went before the king, and spoke concerning the king’s decree: “Have you not signed a decree that every man who petitions any god or man within thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions?” The king answered and said, “The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.”

16 So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you.”

19 Then the king arose very early in the morning and went in haste to the den of lions.

24 And the king gave the command, and they brought those men who had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions — them, their children, and their wives; and the lions overpowered them, and broke all their bones in pieces before they ever came to the bottom of the den.

The Last Outpouring

I know some will not receive what I am about to say, yet many will. I do not believe we have yet seen the glory and fullness of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit as prophesied by Joel. What we have seen are just a few sprinkles! Yes, we have had a worldwide charismatic renewal and love has brought many together. It has been an experience shared worldwide, yet it is just a foretaste.

God will permit nothing to hinder what he plans to do. The enemy is in for a surprise. Just as it appears the church will be inundated by a satanic flood, the Spirit will raise up a standard. Understand what that standard is, and you will understand what God is about to do. The standard is a holy people, pure, undefiled, delivered from the corruption that is in the world. That standard is a new breed of sanctified Christians, who will shine forth as lights in the midst of a wicked and perverse generation. It will not be just a renewal of love and praise, but a restoration of holiness unto the Lord!

There will still be shouting and praise, but it will be the shout of victory over sin and compromise, fulfilling the purpose of the last outpouring: “That all who call on his name shall be delivered…” (Joel 2:32). Delivered from what? From sin! From the spirit of the world!

We will not have had the fullness of the Spirit’s outpouring until baptized people separate themselves completely from the world. We must emphasize separation and purity of heart. The purpose of the Spirit’s coming is to sanctify and prepare a people for the Lord’s return, a people without spot or wrinkle.

When the fullness of the Spirit’s outpouring comes upon all flesh, conviction for sin will be everywhere. “He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment” (John 16:8). That is the outpouring of the Holy Spirit!

Tragically, too many speak with tongues, but then live like the devil. Sin was never uprooted and all they received was an experience of ecstasy. God blessed them just enough to call them into a deeper life of holiness and submission, but they stopped and went about saying, “I’ve got the Holy Ghost.”

Oh, there is so much more! I thank God for the privilege of praying in an unknown tongue; it is my way of releasing all the pent-up praises to God in a communication beyond my understanding. But you can speak with the tongues of men and even angels, and without charity, you have received nothing. But I say it goes even deeper. You are not truly baptized with the Holy Spirit until every hidden part of your soul has been exposed—and every sin confessed and forsaken.

“Come unto me, all that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4: 6-7 (TLB)

The Word of God is a testimony to the fact that God in Christ Jesus is on the side of His trusting ones no matter what they are going through. The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry. The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles. The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.” (Psalm 34:15-19). “Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. But You, O God, shall bring them down to the pit of destruction; Bloodthirsty and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; But I will trust in You.” (Psalm 55:22) ” He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.” (Isaiah 40:29).

The Lord always is and will remain for His trusting ones their Savior, Friend Healer, Deliverer, Defender, Avenger, Rock, Refuge, Reward and Shield. The Lord is an unchanging God. He will not leave them nor forsake them. Once He has promised them something, He will not go back from His word. They can put their entire trust in the Lord and rest in Him and wait patiently for Him to move on their behalf. They can believe in His promises and He will lift them and exalt them. His word is true:

Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb. Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret-it only causes harm. For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the LORD, They shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more. But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. Psalm 37:1-11.

There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, Who rides the heavens to help you, And in His excellency on the clouds. The eternal God is your refuge, And underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you, And will say, ‘Destroy!’ Then Israel shall dwell in safety, The fountain of Jacob alone, In a land of grain and new wine; His heavens shall also drop dew. Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the LORD, The shield of your help And the sword of your majesty! Your enemies shall submit to you, And you shall tread down their high places.” Deuteronomy 33:25-29

With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people were strengthened by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah. 2 Chronicles 32:7-8

Victory is given only in battle and not outside of it. God has promised to bring His true children through everything including poverty, lack, afflictions and want and not keep them there. He has an answer and solution for every problem His people face and need that they have. But it’s not a standard solution for God is not limited in any way as to how He will work a miracle for them that will bring glory and honor to His name. If they could solve the problem or work out a solution they would not need God and they wouldn’t know what faith in God will achieve?

Yes, without the troubles and the storms we would never know what faith in God can do. Through it all we can learn to trust in Jesus, learn to trust in God, learn to depend upon His word! The battles of Life are fought and won not by human logic or reasoning but by the obedience to the Spirit of the Lord, to the same Spirit that was on Jesus and is on His true ones. For God’s word is true:

Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain. Psalm 127:1

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever. Psalm 23:1-6

For those who love the LORD their God, walk in His ways and hold fast to Him, the Lord delivers and the Lord protects them. He drives out their enemies before them and they dispose of them. He heals them and sends His healing anointing to them. He opens the windows of heaven and pour His financial blessings on them. He blesses and prospers them and expands their territory and causes them to eat the good of the land. His word is unchanging:

And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested. 1 Chronicles 4:10

Yes, God who is immensely good and rich has wonderful conditional promises for His people that if they will do their part He will do His part. He is especially concerned when His people are poor and needy and has told them to approach the throne of Grace to find mercy and grace in time of need. His word is unchanging:

“The poor and needy seek water, but there is none, Their tongues fail for thirst. I, the LORD, will hear them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. I will open rivers in desolate heights, And fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, And the dry land springs of water. I will plant in the wilderness the cedar and the acacia tree, The myrtle and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the cypress tree and the pine And the box tree together, That they may see and know, And consider and understand together, That the hand of the LORD has done this, And the Holy One of Israel has created it. “Present your case,” says the LORD. “Bring forth your strong reasons,” says the King of Jacob. Isaiah 41:17-21

Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:14-16

Yes, God is a good God who can be trusted no matter what is going on in the world. He is not like the others. He is good, faithful, true and compassionate! He is the salvation of the righteous and their strength in the time of trouble. He shall help them and deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in Him. He desires and wills that His children have total and complete victory in all the battles of life and be more than conquerors and overcomers. He doesn’t want them to just get by but to live in victory and prosperity and abundance. His wants to fight for them and to triumph gloriously on their behalf against all their enemies. His word is unchanging:

Stir up Yourself, and awake to my vindication, To my cause, my God and my Lord. Vindicate me, O LORD my God, according to Your righteousness; And let them not rejoice over me. Let them not say in their hearts, “Ah, so we would have it!” Let them not say, “We have swallowed him up.” Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion Who rejoice at my hurt; Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor Who exalt themselves against me. Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favor my righteous cause; And let them say continually, “Let the LORD be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.” And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness And of Your praise all the day long. Psalm 35:23-28

God’s seasons are not at the command of mortal men. Just because at the first stroke of the flint does not bring forth the fire, doesn’t mean there will not be a fire? God’s delays are not His denials. For His trusting true ones God always hears their prayers and will answer them in due season. Hence they have need of perseverance and endurance for the miracle answer will come from the God of miracles. They need not fear but are to let their hands be strong for God will save them and they shall be a blessing. As God’s power and resources are unlimited and not dependent on their limited power and resources. His word is unchanging:

May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob defend you; May He send you help from the sanctuary, And strengthen you out of Zion; May He remember all your offerings, And accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, And fulfill all your purpose. We will rejoice in your salvation, And in the name of our God we will set up our banners! May the LORD fulfill all your petitions. Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven With the saving strength of His right hand. Psalm 20:1-6

My soul still remembers And sinks within me. This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. Through the LORD’S mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly For the salvation of the LORD. Lamentations 3:20-26

And He said to them, “Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves; ‘for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; “and he will answer from within and say, ‘Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’? “I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.

“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Luke 11:5-10

Poverty, like a snowstorm, attempts to destroy our life. In our worldly life, financial discrepancies, Debt- burdens penury… perplex us. According to Ecclesiastes 7:12, “money (wealth/riches) is defense” Ecclesiastes 10:19 says, ” money answers everything.” That is why God is ever ready to save us from the terrible whirlwind of poverty by providing us with financial strength for He is our refuge and strength in time of trouble. His word is unchanging:

“The Lord is in His holy temple, The Lord’s throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men.” Psalm 11:4

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Romans 8”31-32

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.” 1 Peter 5:6

There comes a time in life when we have to grab hold of the horns of the altar of God and ask Him to stir up Himself and to arise for our help, and redeem us for His mercies’ sake (Psalm 44:26); just like the Psalmist did on many occasions when he was beset by his enemies. We are not to let Him go until He blesses and changes us and deal with our enemies; just like He did with Jacob who wrestled with God. The bible records for our profit and instruction:

Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him. And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!” So He said to him, “What is your name?” He said, “Jacob.” And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.” Then Jacob asked, saying, “Tell me Your name, I pray.” And He said, “Why is it that you ask about My name?” And He blessed him there. And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: “For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.” Genesis 32:24-30

Then God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell there; and make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled from the face of Esau your brother.” And Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Put away the foreign gods that are among you, purify yourselves, and change your garments. “Then let us arise and go up to Bethel; and I will make an altar there to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and has been with me in the way which I have gone.” So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods which were in their hands, and the earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the terebinth tree which was by Shechem. And they journeyed, and the terror of God was upon the cities that were all around them, and they did not pursue the sons of Jacob. So Jacob came to Luz (that is, Bethel), which is in the land of Canaan, he and all the people who were with him. And he built an altar there and called the place El Bethel, because there God appeared to him when he fled from the face of his brother. Genesis 35:1-7

God is more than willing to bless His sons and daughters with all kinds of blessings, spiritual, physical, material and ministerial and with Himself; but they must stir themselves up to seek and go to God and not let Him go until He blesses them. The bible encourages us to stir ourselves up and seek God and be greatly rewarded by Him:

The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing. Psalm 34:10

For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly. Psalm 84:11

Therefore he said to Judah, “Let us build these cities and make walls around them, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us, because we have sought the LORD our God; we have sought Him, and He has given us rest on every side.” So they built and prospered.2 Chronicles 14:7

Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:6-7

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6

Yes there is a rest and prosperity for the people of God who will seek the Lord their God and take by force all that He has for them in His word. God has pleasure in the prosperity of His servants and wants to bless them greatly. He wants to take care of all their needs, fight all their battles, and give them victories over all their enemies whoever or whatever they might be. He wants them to serve Him so that He could bless their bread and their water. And He will take sickness from their midst and fulfill the number of their days. His word is unchanging:

“Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. “Beware of Him and obey His voice; do not provoke Him, for He will not pardon your transgressions; for My name is in Him. “But if you indeed obey His voice and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries. “For My Angel will go before you and bring you in to the Amorites and the Hittites and the Perizzites and the Canaanites and the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will cut them off. “You shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their works; but you shall utterly overthrow them and completely break down their sacred pillars. “So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. “No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days. “I will send My fear before you, I will cause confusion among all the people to whom you come, and will make all your enemies turn their backs to you. Exodus 23:20-27

God by giving the fullness of His blessing to His reconciled enemies proves His perfect and unlimited love for us and we can respond by trusting Him at all times. Yes, Jesus is our redeeming God, “The Lord our righteousness,” and that those who accept Him as Lord and Savior can know forgiveness of sins and peace with God and be healed and made perfect, whole and complete. And our Redeeming Lord will baptize us in the Holy Spirit and gives the gifts of the Spirit so that we can see others become redeemed believers made complete in Christ who is all that they need for body, soul and spirit for Christ is unlimited in power and richest.

The doctrine of Christ’s unlimited ability has a very practical application to us in our daily lives. Jesus is omnipotent; He can save, deliver and keep us. Jesus is our omniscient and all-wise Lord, He knows all about us, and can guide us in all our problems. Jesus is omnipresent; He is with us in every situation. Christ is the Great I Am; He knows and is in control of our future. Jesus is the Lord of unlimited love, He really cares for us. What a comfort these Divine attributes of Jesus give to those who love and serve Him. God’s word is unchanging:

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, My servants shall eat, But you shall be hungry; Behold, My servants shall drink, But you shall be thirsty; Behold, My servants shall rejoice, But you shall be ashamed; Behold, My servants shall sing for joy of heart, But you shall cry for sorrow of heart, And wail for grief of spirit. You shall leave your name as a curse to My chosen; For the Lord GOD will slay you, And call His servants by another name; So that he who blesses himself in the earth Shall bless himself in the God of truth; And he who swears in the earth Shall swear by the God of truth; Because the former troubles are forgotten, And because they are hidden from My eyes. Isaiah 65:13-16

Yes, in times when a great tempest comes against God’s trusting ones, it’s wonderful to know that a vessel with Jesus in it cannot sink for even the winds and the sea obey Him as well as everything else, including demons. Jesus will bring them safely to the other side of plenty and prosperity and victory. But this is something that some of God’s people do not seem to understand that no matter what is going on the miracle working God of all power and unlimited riches and resources is on their side. He is for them and with them and not against them and wants to see them get safely through to the other side. His trusting ones must not be fearful but are to faithful to stand against all the wiles of the enemy who seeks to destroy them by any means. For the enemy walks about like a roaring lions seeking whom he may devour by any means.

God has not and doesn’t change one single bit. He is the same yesterday, today and forever! He is the living God, steadfast forever and a great miracle working God as well as the Judge of all the earth and a man of war. His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall endure to the end. He still delivers and rescues, and He works signs and wonders in heaven and on earth. Signs and wonders which bless some and destroy other. There are no sickness, famine, pestilence, poverty, suffering and lack in heaven and should not be on earth. The LORD who IS A GREAT MAN OF WAR AND UNCHANGING will bring His trusting ones into abundance of prosperity and give them every victory. His word is unchanging:

“When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the LORD your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt. “So it shall be, when you are on the verge of battle, that the priest shall approach and speak to the people. “And he shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel: Today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies. Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them; ‘for the LORD your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you’ (to give you victory, KJV). Deuteronomy 20:1-4

The LORD shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies. “I have held My peace a long time, I have been still and restrained Myself. Now I will cry like a woman in labor, I will pant and gasp at once. I will lay waste the mountains and hills, And dry up all their vegetation; I will make the rivers coastlands, And I will dry up the pools. I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them. Isaiah 42:13-16

“For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” Says the LORD of hosts, “That will leave them neither root nor branch.But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves. You shall trample the wicked, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this,” Says the LORD of hosts. Malachi 4:1-3

He Vanquished Them

“And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, ‘Your eyes have seen all that the LORD your God has done to these two kings; so will the LORD do to all the kingdoms through which you pass. ‘You must not fear them, for the LORD your God Himself fights for you.’ Deuteronomy 3:21-22

I will love You, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies. Psalm 18:1-3

The LORD thundered from heaven, And the Most High uttered His voice, Hailstones and coals of fire. He sent out His arrows and scattered the foe, Lightnings in abundance, and He vanquished them. Psalm 18:13-14

King David, whom God took from following the sheep be ruler over God’s people, over Israel, knew from first hand experience that the greatness, the power and the glory, the victory and the majesty belongs to the LORD and all that is in heaven and in earth is His included the kingdom, and He is exalted as head over all. He knew from experience that both riches and honor come from the Lord who reigns over all. And in whose hand is power and might; in His hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. Hence David the anointed one, before he became king, told cowardly and fearful king Saul about the mighty Goliath “Let no man’s heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine.“

King Saul said to him, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.” But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it. “Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.” Moreover David said, “The LORD, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the LORD be with you!” (1 Kings 17:33-35). David made his confession of faith and put his faith in God and went and took on the Philistine in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom he had defied. The bible records:

And the Philistine said to David, “Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!” Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. “This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. “Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD’S, and He will give you into our hands.”

So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hastened and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David. Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled. 1 Samuel 17:44-51

Victory comes from the LORD through the method of His choosing for those who confess and stand on His word. David used one stone, not a sword, and brought the mighty enemy down. He then had to take Philistine’s sword to kill him and cut off his head with it. David’s vanquish over Goliath was only one of many battles that he was to fight in his life until the LORD had given him rest from all his enemies all around (2 Samuel 7:1); as well Saul’s house and Saul’s wives into his keeping, and gave him the house of Israel and Judah (2 Samuel 12:8). David discovered the secret of victory for himself. The bible records:

Then the Philistines went and made a raid on the Valley of Rephaim. And David inquired of God, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?” And the LORD said to him, “Go up, for I will deliver them into your hand.” So they went up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there. Then David said, “God has broken through my enemies by my hand like a breakthrough of water.” Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim. And when they left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.

Then the Philistines once again made a raid on the valley. Therefore David inquired again of God, and God said to him, “You shall not go up after them; circle around them, and come upon them in front of the mulberry trees. “And it shall be, when you hear a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall go out to battle, for God has gone out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.” So David did as God commanded him, and they drove back the army of the Philistines from Gibeon as far as Gezer. Then the fame of David went out into all lands, and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations. 1 Chronicles 14:9-17

David secret was that in time of trouble he would inquire of God what to do. And God would tell him what to do to have the victory. As a result of his obedience and faith, something supernatural happened on that battlefield. David described it as the power of God or the anointing of God coming on the scene like the breaking forth of waters. It was like a flood that could not be contained.

And similarly if we will inquire of God what to do in the time of trouble and distress, He will tell us and He will be for us the “God of Breakthrough” for just like Jesus was for others. Jesus told the blind man “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” and to his Simon, Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch” and they received their needed breakthrough. The bible records for our profit and instruction:

When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing. John 9:6-7

So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets. Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat. When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. Luke 5:1-7
