Be Of Good Cheer!

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all. Psalm 34:19

“Make us glad according to the days in which You have afflicted us, the years in which we have seen evil.” Psalm 90:15

Jesus told us that in the world we would have afflictions or tribulation but we were to be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. The word of God tells us on numerous occasions to be strong and of good courage. “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6). “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9). To be strong and of good courage in a midst of trials and tribulations is a choice that a person makes no matter what is going on about him! Because of our faith in God we make a conscious choice to be strong and of good courage and to believe God that He is and will move on our behalf to change things! God’s word is unchanging:

“But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!” 2 Chronicles 15:7

“Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed before the king of Assyria, nor before all the multitude that is with him; for there are more with us than with him. 2 Chronicles 32:7

Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.” Isaiah 35:4

Fear occurs when there is an absence of faith. Fear occurs when unbelief enters in and says that God is not God and that there is an enemy or problem that God cannot handle. But it’s nothing but a lie from the pits of hell for there is nothing that is bigger or greater than God. Those who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits and they will not be fearful. They shall be dependent on the power of the Holy Spirit just like Jesus did and trust the Holy Spirit to be and do all things for them. God’s word is unchanging:

“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; Luke 4:18

Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them. Luke 5:17

And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to Him. Mark 1:13

Yes, the power of the Lord and angels are not just a pie in the sky but real benefits of God given to and for His people. Angels minister to the heirs of salvation bringing them real help that they need including healing, wisdom, and miracles. God’s word is unchanging:

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.” Luke 1:18-21

Yes, the angel told Joseph a just man “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.” Many of God’s people suffer things needlessly because they don’t avail themselves of the miracle working power of the Holy Spirit or the services of angels who are there to minister to them in their hour of need! Many Christians to their own demise rely only on the own understanding and the written word of God and ignore the supernatural help that is available to them constantly. Yet God’s word is unchanging:

And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?”

So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

And Elisha prayed, and said, “LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the LORD, and said, “Strike this people, I pray, with blindness.” And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. 2 Kings 6:15-18

Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with him. Psalm 126:5-6

I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Genesis 12:2-3

Jesus Christ, our God of hope (Isaiah 53:4,5) bore all our sufferings, agony, transgressions, iniquities, weakness and sicknesses in His body and tasted death for the whole of mankind (Hebrews 2:9). The body and mind of our gracious Lord Jesus was ploughed. He was oppressed in every respect. He sowed Himself in tears for millions of people and allowed His body to be ploughed to death. Today, the fields are ready for harvest. People enter into the kingdom of God only through the sufferings of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Whatever we have sowed in tears and sorrow, we will reap them in great joy. We can look up to the Lord Jesus and pray with steadfast faith. He will do great and mighty deeds for us and make us a blessing for others. God’s word is unchanging:

But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. Matthew 8:26

So He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. And immediately she arose and served them. Luke 4:39

Jesus Christ when He walked the earth as the Son of Man and the Son of God rebuked things. He rebuked the winds and the sea that were troubling the disciples and there came a great calm. When Peter’s mother was sick, He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. And immediately she arose and served them. When a spirit seized the young boy and convulsed him so that he foamed at the mouth, Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the child, and gave him back to his father. The bible records for our profit and instruction:

Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are-the Holy One of God!”

But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him. Mark 1:23-26

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matthew 28:18-20

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. John 4:12

Whatever Jesus did, He promised those who believe in Him, they would do also and greater works they will do because He went back to the Father. So God’s anointed ones because Jesus is with them always have the authority and power to rebuke things, including sickness, diseases, infirmity, poverty and lack. They can command these things to go away and not come back. They can bind them and bring health and wealth to God’s people and proclaim it to come forth in Jesus name. God’s word is unchanging;

“Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. Matthew 18:18-19

It’s not God’s fault but man’s that he doesn’t use the power in the name of Jesus that God has given to men. Hence men suffer things needlessly because they don’t operate in the gifts of the Spirit and use the wisdom that God gives. But God’s word is unchanging:

There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots. The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. His delight is in the fear of the LORD, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears; But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. Isaiah 11:1-4

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. 1 Corinthians 12:7-11

Yes, God’s people can continually live and use the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, faith, gift of healings, the working of miracles, prophesy, discernment, tongues and interpretation of tongues as they tap into the power of God for God’s word is unchanging:

“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; “they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mark 16:17-18

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:10-13

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

But Be Of Good Cheer

FA
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

When diseases, hostilities, sufferings, tribulations, scorn, abuse and loneliness impose terrible problems in our life, when our feet stumble, the Holy Spirit is there to help us, to comfort us and to give us victory! The same Holy Spirit who raised Jesus Christ from the dead and did miracles through Jesus is there to help, heal, and deliver us and do miracles through us. He comforts us in all our tribulation so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. The same Holy Spirit who strengthened, changed and empowered the disciples is in us and with us to help us for our sufficiency is from God. God’s word is unchanging:

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 2 Corinthians 1:2-4

Do we begin again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as some others, epistles of commendation to you or letters of commendation from you? You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart. And we have such trust through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. 2 Corinthians 3:1-6

Yes, our help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth and is more than enough to handle any tribulation or affliction that comes our way! He is after all a miracle working God! The LORD is our keeper; our shade at your right hand. He shall preserve us from all evil; He shall preserve our soul. He shall preserve our going out and our coming in! He shall bless, heal, deliver and prosper us and meet and supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. His word is unchanging:

“And the patriarchs, becoming envious, sold Joseph into Egypt. But God was with him “and delivered him out of all his troubles, and gave him favor and wisdom in the presence of Pharaoh, king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house. Acts 7:9-10

I sought the LORD, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them. Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing. Psalm 34:4-10

Yes, we trust not in ourselves but in God who raises the dead and delivers the righteous of all their troubles. The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all (Psalm 34:18-19). None of those who trust in Him shall be put to shame. God’s word is unchanging:

But Israel shall be saved by the LORD With an everlasting salvation; You shall not be ashamed or disgraced Forever and ever. Isaiah 45:17

Kings shall be your foster fathers, And their queens your nursing mothers; They shall bow down to you with their faces to the earth, And lick up the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD, For they shall not be ashamed who wait for Me.” Isaiah 49:23

“For the Lord GOD will help Me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed. Isaiah 50:7

The cross of Calvary where Jesus bled and died proved that God cannot be defeated and nether can those who trust in Him. There is victory at the cross for all who are weary and heavy laden, for all who are sick and for all who have a financial need. God’s trusting ones can drop all of their burdens at the cross. Put everything under the blood that is weighing them down. There is power in the blood of Jesus to save, heal and deliver from all devil’s bondage and oppressions. They are to trust God’s power with all of their heart and be free in soul, mind and body. Yes they can believe for God to do for them what no other power will do for it’s their Father’s good pleasure to supply all of their needs and make them whole and to be a blessing!

Prosperity, protection, promotion, honor and deliverance comes to those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High, set their love upon the Lord and know His name. Such as these abide under the shadow of the Almighty, are satisfied with long life, and the Lord shows them His salvation (Psalm 91:14-16). They have God’s word on it, the word of a Gentleman, who doesn’t lie! Those who don’t hear God’s voice and don’t walk in His ways are not guaranteed God’s richest blessings. The measure they measure to God and to others is measured back to them. They have God’s word on it:

“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars.” 2 Chronicles 16:9

Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? Will a lion roar in the forest, when he has no prey? Will a young lion cry out of his den, if he has caught nothing? Will a bird fall into a snare on the earth, where there is no trap for it? Will a snare spring up from the earth, if it has caught nothing at all? If a trumpet is blown in a city, will not the people be afraid? If there is calamity in a city, will not the LORD have done it? Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord GOD has spoken! Who can but prophesy? Amos 3:2-8

Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given. “For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.” Mark 4:24-25
