KEEP ASKING …

For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. – Matthew 7:8, NIV

Is there something you are believing God for? Does it seem like it’s taking a long time to come to pass? Be encouraged today because the Bible says that through faith and patience, you will inherit God’s promises. So don’t give up! Keep thanking God for His faithfulness in your life. Trust that His Word is true. Keep praying and keep an attitude of faith and expectancy. Keep asking. Keep seeking. Keep knocking on the door, and it will be opened to you. It may seem like it’s taking a long time, but know this: God is working behind the scenes on your behalf. He is orchestrating things in your favor. His timing is always perfect! As you stay faithful in your prayers and thanksgiving, the Lord will move mightily on your behalf. He’ll take you places that you’ve never dreamed!

REST AND FIND GOD’S GRACE

Luke 2:40 – And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.

The verse says that the grace of God was upon Jesus. The Bible also says that where sin abounds, grace abounds much more. (Romans 5:20) And when you put the two together, you may find yourself asking, “If the grace of God was upon Jesus, does it mean that He sinned?”

No, Jesus did not sin. (2 Corinthians 5:21) So there must be another explanation as to why God’s grace was upon Jesus. There must be another explanation as to why someone can abound in God’s grace even when he has not sinned.

Let’s look at the word “grace” when it is first mentioned in the Bible. Genesis 6:8 says that “Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord”. Noah’s name means “rest”. So the verse is telling us that rest found grace. In other words, when you rest, you find grace!

So grace was upon Jesus because His life was a life of rest and trust in His Father. He said, “The Son can do nothing of Himself. He can do only what He sees His Father doing.” (John 5:19)

Likewise, grace comes upon you when you rest and trust God. If you have a wayward child, stop nagging at him and trust God to handle the problem. Say, “Jesus, I commit this boy into Your hands. I cannot control him. You can.” If you have a persistent pain in your body, bring it to the Lord. Say, “Jesus, I hand all my worries about this pain to You. You work on the pain.”

“Pastor, what if nothing happens?”

Honestly, if after you have given the matter to Jesus and nothing happens, what can you do? If Jesus Himself can’t do anything about it, do you think you can? But praise God, once the problem is handed over to Jesus, He can and will do a perfect work of taking care of it for you!

So live a life of rest. Have this attitude and tell the Lord, “I can do nothing of myself. I just rest in You Lord and I trust You.” Beloved, what you will see is the grace of God upon you in every situation of your life!

SHARING GOD’S LOVE

Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. – Luke 10:2

It is commonly thought that an evangelist is someone who has a passion to lead people to the Lord. But every believer should have a passion for souls. When presenting the Gospel, we are not just presenting a theory about God but the factual account of God’s dealings with man as revealed through His Word, with the ultimate witness being the bodily resurrection of Jesus. Our personal witness of the reality of Jesus being alive in our lives brings Christ from theory to reality

The early Christians had experienced the love of Christ in an intimate and life-transforming way. This motivated them to reach their known world with the Gospel of Christ more than any generation of Christians has done since. They didn’t have the benefits of our modern technology, but they did have the benefit of being full of the love of Christ. Experiencing the love of Christ causes us to be filled with the fullness of God (Eph. 3:19) and makes us a witness that the world cannot resist (John 13:35).

Today, much of the emphasis of the church is placed on techniques of evangelism or spiritual warfare. We motivate people to witness through feelings of guilt or punishment if they don’t. Much of our evangelism has become as dead and non-productive as that of the cults who knock on doors and argue people into their way of thinking. The early Christians had a much greater impact on their world because they were full of, and motivated by, the love of God. The church today needs a revival of our personal relationship with the Lord. When we can say with Paul that the love of Christ constrains us, then we will impact our world for the Lord too. You can’t give away what you don’t possess. We need to personally know the love of Christ in an experiential way before we try to share it with others.

YOUR BLIND SPOT (1)

…Cleanse me from these hidden faults. – Psalm 19:12 NLT

There are parts of yourself you’ll never see without God’s help. In one sense, you know yourself better than anyone else does. You alone have access to your inner thoughts, feelings and judgments. In another sense, you know yourself worse than anyone else does. Why? Because we rationalise, justify, minimise, forget, and embellish—and we don’t even know we’re doing it. We all fall for the self–serving bias. We claim too much credit and accept too little blame. We pay attention to experts who agree with our opinions, while ignoring or discounting all evidence to the contrary. Our memories are not simply faulty, they’re faulty in favour of our ego. The book Egonomics cites a survey in which 83 per cent of people were confident in their ability to make good decisions, but only 27 per cent were confident in the ability of the people they worked closely with to make good decisions. We’re stunned when someone sees past our defences into our souls. It’s not that they’re geniuses, it’s just that we’re sitting in our own blind spot and without the work of the Holy Spirit within us, much of the time we can’t even see our sin. The psalmist wrote: ‘How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. Keep Your servant from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to You, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.’ (Psalm19:12–14 NLT) That’s a prayer you should pray—every day.

SHARING WORDS OF HOPE

Hebrews 10:24-25 (KJV) “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching”.

Are you a hopeful, optimistic, encouraging person? And do you associate with like minded people?

Hope, like other human emotions, is contagious. When we associate with hope-filled friends, we are encouraged by their faith and optimism. But if we spend to much time in the company of naysayers and pessimists, our attitudes, like theirs, will tend toward the cynical and negative.

As a child of God, you have every reason to be hopeful, and you have every reason to share your hope with others. So today, look for reasons to celebrate. And while you’re at it, look for people who will join you in the celebration of God’s blessings. As you share hope, you’ll build hope. We urgently need people who encourage and inspire us to move toward God..

CHRIST THE REDEEMER

I know that my Redeemer lives. — Job 19:25

The famous statue Christ the Redeemer overlooks the city of Rio de Janeiro. The statue is a model of Christ with His arms extended so that His body forms the shape of a cross. Brazilian architect Heitor da Silva Costa designed the figure. He imagined that the city’s residents would see it as the first image to emerge from the darkness at dawn. At dusk, he hoped the city dwellers would view the setting sun as a halo behind the statue’s head.
There is value in keeping our eyes on our Redeemer each day, during the good times and the difficult times. As he suffered, Job said, “I know that my Redeemer lives, and He shall stand at last on the earth” (Job 19:25).

The cry of Job’s heart points us to Jesus—our living Savior who will visit the earth again one day (1 Thess. 4:16-18). Keeping our eyes on Jesus means remembering that we have been rescued from our sin. Jesus “gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people” (Titus 2:14).

Anyone who has accepted Jesus as Savior has a reason to be glad today. No matter what we endure on earth, we can have hope today and look forward to enjoying eternity with Him.

Dear Jesus, You are my rescuer. Because You died and rose again, I am free from the consequences of my sin forever. Thank You for redeeming my life.

Through His cross and resurrection, Jesus rescues and redeems.

THE COST OF LIVING FOR CHRIST

And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. – Matthew 8:18-22; Luke 9:51-62

This verse has often been used to support the misconception that Jesus and His disciples lived in poverty. However, in this instance, the fact that Jesus had nowhere to lay His head was because of persecution. The Samaritans, because of a religious prejudice, had just refused Him hospitality and a place to stay as He journeyed to Jerusalem. Persecution is part of the cost of living a Christian life. Jesus was communicating to this man that not having a place to stay at times was part of that cost.

There are many forms of persecution. Having your life threatened because of your faith in Jesus is one way you can be persecuted, but it is not the most damaging. History shows that the Church has always flourished under persecution with increased numbers and zeal. During intense, life-threatening persecution, people’s priorities get straightened out and the Lord assumes His rightful place. This always works for our good, regardless of what our outward circumstances might be.

A far more deadly form of persecution is men simply speaking evil of you or separating you from their company. It’s more deadly because it’s more subtle.

Many who would never directly deny the Lord will fall into self-pity or strife because of someone’s criticism. This will render one just as ineffective as a negative reaction to having one’s life threatened would.

It helps to recognize that it is not you that they are persecuting, but rather Christ in you. You are actually becoming a partaker of His sufferings and will share His rewards. With this in mind, we can actually shout and leap for joy in persecution!

IT’S ONLY TEMPORARY …

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. – 2 Corinthians 4:17, NIV

Your troubles and trials in this life are only temporary. In fact, today’s verse tells us they are momentary. Compared with eternity, our troubles don’t last long at all. As you stand strong in faith during times of adversity, Scripture says that you are achieving eternal glory. When you confess your trust and reliance on God, you are passing the test.

If you are in the middle of tough times today, look to Jesus! The Bible says that He is the Author and Finisher of your faith. He is the one who deposits faith in your heart and then tends to it until it is fully developed. Your part is to keep your heart open and choose words of faith and victory.

Remember, your words set the course for your life. Confess your faith in the Father. Set your mind on Him. Look for His hand moving in your life. Focus on that eternal glory because your troubles here are only temporary!

LOOK UNTO JESUS

Hebrews 12:2 – looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…
What does it mean to look unto Jesus? Well, we can think of it like this: If you are drowning and somebody walks past you, you do not look at him. You look unto him. When you look unto him, you are turning to him and expecting him to rescue you.

In the same manner, you look unto Jesus expecting Him to save, heal and protect you because you know His mighty power and sacrificial love for you. God’s Word says that we are to keep “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith”. That is how God wants us to live.

So if you have a recurring migraine, keep looking unto Jesus. See Him taking that migraine upon His body on the cross and say, “Lord, I thank You that by Your stripes I am healed.” (Isaiah 53:5) As you keep looking unto Jesus, your healer, that migraine will have to bow to His finished work!
If you have a financial lack in your life, just keep looking unto Jesus with confident expectation that He will provide for you and deliver you from your lack.

“But Pastor, is it really so simple? All I have to do is look unto Jesus and He will bless me financially?”

Yes, it is that simple. The problem with us is that we tend to look unto ourselves. But we cannot save or deliver ourselves. Even the apostle Paul struggled when he depended on his self-effort. That is why he said, “For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice.” (Romans 7:19) It was only when Paul looked away from himself and unto Jesus that he received his deliverance.(Romans 7:24–25)

My friend, if you have been looking unto yourself, it is time to start looking unto Jesus. Look unto Him, the author and finisher of your faith. And soon, you will be looking at your healing and provision!

Thought For The Day

Look unto Jesus, and expect Him to save, heal and protect you because of His mighty power and sacrificial love for you.

 HEARING GOD’S VOICE

But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out – John 10:1-21

This verse promises all who are God’s sheep that they not only can, but that they do, hear His voice. Many born-again people doubt the truth of this statement based on their experience. They don’t think they can hear God’s voice. However, the Word of God is true – not our experience.

The harmony between what this verse says and what our experiences say is that it is our new born-again spirit that hears God’s voice. Although God has spoken and still does speak in an audible voice at times, very few people experience this. God speaks to our inner person (spirit) and our inner person hears Him. The problem comes when we aren’t sensitive to, or controlled by, our spirit but are walking in the vanity of our mind. The Bible calls this walking in the flesh instead of the Spirit (Gal. 5:16-18).

Man is a spirit, soul, and body. Our spirits are as perfect as they will ever be in heaven. If we will change our thinking so that we believe what God says in His Word about who we are and what we have, then this agreement between our spirit and soul forms a majority and our flesh will experience the life of God that has been deposited in our spirits.

Prayer, Bible study, fasting, fellowship, etc. are ways of refocusing our mind’s attention away from the voice of this world and back to the voice of our Shepherd who is constantly communicating with our spirit. If we fail to renew our minds, we can live our entire time on this earth without experiencing the abundant life that Jesus provided for us. Listen, and you will hear His voice speak to you through His Word today.

Because of the cross, God is able to turn your minuses into pluses

God’s Word is alive & is health to all of our flesh & life to all that find it. He sent His Word to heal & deliver us from all destruction

CHOSEN TO BE HOLY …

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight – Ephesians 1:4, NIV

Did you know that God had a plan for you before He ever made the earth? He created you to be holy and blameless in His sight. Why? He chose you to be His ambassador, His representative. He created you to reflect His glory, His character, His righteousness, His holiness. Think about that for a moment. Part of your purpose on this earth is to be a representative for the King of kings and the Lord of lords! What a great honor! Knowing that should make you want to walk a little differently. It should make you want to talk differently. It should make you think a little more carefully about where you go and what you choose to do with your time.

Are you representing God’s holiness today? Remember, what God has called you to do, He’s equipped you to do. If there are things in your life that aren’t holy, God wants to empower you to overcome those things. Receive His strength and power today so that you can walk in holiness all the days of your life!

ELIMINATE EVERYTHING UNNECESSARY

1 John 5:21 says, Dear children, keep yourselves from idols. The Amplified Bible elaborates on this: Little children, keep yourselves from idols (false gods)–[from anything and everything that would occupy the place in your heart due to God, from any sort of substitute for Him that would take first place in your life]. (AMP)

It is imperative that you prevent any sort of substitute from becoming first place in your life. Fill your life with the true, living God, not a phony substitute.

You can tell what is important to you simply by examining how you spend your time. If you are spending so much time trying to make money that you don’t spend any quality time with God, then wealth is more important to you than God. Likewise, if you are always spending time with friends and don’t have any time to spend with God, then your social life is more important to you than God.

How you use your time is so important, because you can either invest it or waste it. However, if you waste your time, you’ll never get it back. On the other hand, if you invest your time into forming a deep, close, personal relationship with God, then you will reap the rewards of such an investment for the rest of eternity.

Decide to put God first in your life: spend significant, quality, personal time with Him. Put the first, most important thing (God) first place in your life.

OUTER VS INNER LIFE

It can be easy to compromise one’s inner life in hopes of maintaining a good outer life. While there is certainly nothing wrong with a good outer life, we can’t allow our reputation with others to become more important than our reputation with God — He desires to be the most important thing in every person’s life.

King David knew the importance of putting God first in order to maintain a good inner life. In Psalm 27:4, he wrote, One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life. David made God — and spending time in God’s presence — the one thing he wanted. For David, his inner life was more important than his outer life.
1 Peter 3:4 says that your beauty should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

While it is by no means wrong to have a good outer life and to look good outwardly, God values inner beauty much more. That’s because your outer life is your reputation with people, but your inner life is your reputation with God

SAYING YES TO GOD

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness”. – Isaiah 41:10 (KJV)

Your decision to seek a deeper relationship with God won’t remove all problems from your life; to the contrary, it may bring about a series of personal crises as you constantly seek to say yes to God when the world pressures you to do otherwise. Each time you are tempted to distance yourself from the Creator, you face a spiritual crisis. A few of these cries may be monumental in scope, but most will be the small everyday decisions of life. In fact, life can be seen as on test after another and with each crisis comes yet another opportunity to grow closer to God, or to distance yourself from His plan for your life.

Today you will face many opportunities to say yes to God and you will encounter many opportunities to say no to Him. Your answers will determine not only the quality of your day but also the direction of your life. Step out in faith, and just say yes!

HIDDEN MYSTERIES

Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them. —2 Kings 6:16

Most of what goes on in the universe we never see. Many things are too small or move too fast or even too slow for us to see. Using modern technology, however, filmmaker Louis Schwartzberg is able to show stunning video images of some of those things—a caterpillar’s mouth, the eye of a fruit fly, the growth of a mushroom.

Our limited ability to see the awesome and intricate detail of things in the physical world reminds us that our ability to see and understand what’s happening in the spiritual realm is equally limited. God is at work all around us doing things more wonderful than we can imagine. But our spiritual vision is limited and we cannot see them. The prophet Elisha, however, actually got to see the supernatural work that God was doing. God also opened the eyes of his fearful colleague so he too could see the heavenly army sent to fight on their behalf (2 Kings 6:17).

Fear makes us feel weak and helpless and causes us to think we are alone in the world. But God has assured us that His Spirit in us is greater than any worldly power (1 John 4:4).

Whenever we become discouraged by the evil we can see, we need to think instead about the good work God is doing that we cannot see.

Lord, I’m tempted to fear what I cannot understand or control. But my security rests in You and not in what happens to me or around me. Help me to rest in Your unfailing love.

Eyes of faith see God at work in everything.

JESUS FOUND HIM

Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? – John 9:35

It is one thing to seek God; it is quite another thing to have God seek you. Jesus sought this man out when others had forsaken him. The acceptance of Jesus is worth more than everything this world has to offer This is what enables the believer to endure and even leap for joy amidst persecution.

When our sufferings in Christ abound, then the consolation of Christ abounds much more. Notice that this man’s parents, who knew the truth, but refused to share it for fear of persecution, did not have Jesus seeking them out (Jn.9:22). They chose the company of the hypocritical scribes and Pharisees, which is exactly what they got.

Even though the believer is redeemed and delivered from many afflictions that were a result of sin and its power, we are still called to partake in what the scriptures call the “sufferings or afflictions of Christ” (2 Cor. 1:5; Col. 1:24). However, these afflictions are not sickness and poverty as some religious teachings suggest. These afflictions are described as the “fellowship of sufferings” that the believer will encounter for doing the will of God, or the sufferings brought on by one’s allegiance to Christ.

Persecution for righteousness’ sake is not something that we can rebuke (2 Tim. 3:12). We must remember that as we live godly lives, suffering will follow. The Apostle Peter reminds us that these trials of our faith will result in praise, honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ (1 Pet. 1:7). Jesus’ comfort, strength, help, and love are ready to “overflow” into every “trial” that we face if we will only look to Him (Heb. 12:2).

ONLY JESUS IS ALTOGETHER LOVELY

Leviticus 2:1 – ‘When anyone offers a grain offering to the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour…

I love the symbolism of Jesus as fine flour. Fine, even flour comes from wheat that has been pounded and beaten again and again, and sifted several times. Doesn’t that remind you of Jesus’ sufferings and sacrifice for you?

And like fine flour, there is nothing coarse about the person of Jesus. Everything about Him is in even proportions. Every word that He spoke when He was in this world, every thought of His, every action of His, was so fine! When He was kind, He was not soft. When He was assertive, He was not overbearing. He is steel and velvet, meekness and majesty. Like a perfect diamond, every which way you turn Him, you see flawlessness, beauty and brilliance. There is no one altogether lovely like Jesus!

What about Bible greats like Moses and Abraham, or Peter, John and Paul?

Moses, whom the Bible says was more humble than any man on the face of the earth (Numbers 12:3), was once so furious with his people that he struck a rock twice, something he was not supposed to do. (Numbers 20:1–12) His temper got the better of him on that occasion.

Abraham, whom Christians regard as a man of faith (Hebrews 11:8–10), lied about his wife being his sister when a king coveted her. He endangered her life just to save his own skin. (Genesis 20:1–18)

Peter, who was deeply zealous for Jesus, denied Him three times. (Matthew 26:33–34) John, the beloved disciple who leaned on Jesus’ bosom, was all ready to call down fire from heaven to destroy the inhabitants of Samaria who had rejected Jesus. (Luke 9:52–54)

What about Paul, the apostle of grace, who blazed the missionary trail which future missionaries would follow? Even Paul went to Jerusalem when he was told not to by the Holy Spirit through some disciples and the prophet Agabus. (Acts 21:4, 10–11)

Beloved, the best of us can miss the mark. The only one who is faultless, flawless and altogether lovely is Jesus. And because He never misses the mark, you can look to Him. He will never disappoint you!

Apostle Keith Barr
Tonight we had another powerful Holy Ghost service with souls being saved and many miracles of healing. I preached from 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. (KJV) Matthew 10:8. The people seen so many miracles these past three days in Manzanillo that they ask me will I go to the leper colony and pray for the lepers to be healed. I said certainly. Can’t wait.

 Ask For the Rain!

‘And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the LORD your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul,  ‘then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil.  ‘And I will send grass in your fields for your livestock, that you may eat and be filled.’ Deuteronomy 11:13-15

Ask the LORD for rain In the time of the latter rain.  The LORD will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain,  Grass in the field for everyone.  For the idols speak delusion;  The diviners envision lies, And tell false dreams;  They comfort in vain.  Therefore the people wend their way like sheep; They are in trouble because there is no shepherd. Zechariah 10:1-2

What God’s people need most of all is the rain of the Spirit on their lives and land to change all things including their wilderness and desserts. They do not need more pastors and teachings and doctrine but showers of the Spirit from above, the early and latter rain that will change all things. For God’s word is unchanging:

Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high,  And the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, And the fruitful field is counted as a forest.  Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, And righteousness remain in the fruitful field.  The work of righteousness will be peace,  And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever. My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, In secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places,  Though hail comes down on the forest, And the city is brought low in humiliation.  Blessed are you who sow beside all waters, Who send out freely the feet of the ox and the donkey. Isaiah 32:15-20

Come, and let us return to the LORD; For He has torn, but He will heal us;  He has stricken, but He will bind us up.  After two days He will revive us;  On the third day He will raise us up, That we may live in His sight.  Let us know,  Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD. His going forth is established as the morning;  He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth. Hosea 6:1-3

Just like in the natural a good rain makes quite a difference to the land, so does a good rain of the Spirit makes a great difference to the land of God’s people, especially a deluge of the mighty river from God. The river is the Holy Spirit and the flow of the river is the outpouring of the Spirit. When we get into the river  every need will be supplied and everything will become different. The River of the Spirit is a powerful source of energy but the origin of the River is God, Himself!

The Lord is the Mighty River! He is the Source of all truth! He is the Healer and He is  the Life! There is no other River quite like Him for He is the River of Life! His word is true:

And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.  And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. Revelation 22:1-3

The River of God churns and swirls up a great wall of water from one end of the continent to the other. It is ever increasing and destroying all in its path. In the ever churning waters is the depths of truth and wisdom that comes from above but few ever learn their secrets. Few because they swim close to the surface and believe they have arrived by having simply jumped into the water.

The streams in the desert are for the hurt, lonely and lost. They are for all who thirst and desire a drink by quiet meadows. They are refreshment for the soul. They are renewal for the mind. They are strengthening for the body. The streams are for all who want more of God. The pastures are for the retired. The meadows are for the weary. The streams are for the thirsty. But, the mighty River is for the brave and the free! The River brings real abundant life. It brings the streams of the desert into one roaring torrent. The River sustains the Body and heals the deeply wounded. It sets the captives free from bondage and tradition. It shakes the very foundations of men’s beliefs and turns them upside down. O yes, the mighty River changes the course of history and rewrites men’s theology. For the River is the Source of Life and Truth.  When the waves flow over the banks of the river and the banks swell beyond their boundary lines, it is then that the greatest destruction occurs to the farms and outlying lands. The River of life is just like this. It flows beyond the boundaries of men’s limited thinking and controlling ways–beyond the hold of man.

Destruction comes to all who refuse to change their thinking with the River. They will not bend. They will not yield to the rushing beauty before them. They would rather “fight than switch” to their own demise. God has not desired their defeat or destruction but they have refused to comply.  So, the River will do her work. She will over flow her banks and bring the truth rushing into every stronghold and bastion of men’s devises.  He has the final say on everything that comes their way. The LORD is in the flood. He is in the Tornado.  He is in the hurricane. He is in the firestorm. He is in everything that brings their destruction. Suddenly and swiftly they are swept away. One moment there, the next moment gone, as simply as a flick of God’s Hand.  For they have chose to stand against God. They thought they could withstand Him. They thought they were right and they wrong. They thought but it was wrong. Thinking is wrong. It brings nothing but destruction and tribulation to men who claim to “Know the LORD.”

Knowing Lord is more than speaking His Name on occasion or even raising their hands to Him. Knowing Him is recognizing His Voice when He calls them. It means changing their plans because He asked them. It means surrendering their will to the LORD in spirit and truth. For God’s word is unchanging:

The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. “Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.”

Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. “You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.  “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.

“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:19-24

Never so blind are those who chose not to “See!” They have chosen not to see God. They have chosen the lies men have told them. They have accepted as truth what was not truth. They have walked in their ways and expected Him to sanction them? But they are not to assume that God’s silence means acceptance. It does not! God refuses to accept what men have made of His church and His body. He has chosen to rearrange it with the Power of His Mighty Hand through His Holy Spirit and they will see it but never enjoy it. They will remain in their own desert by their own choice and He will help them to it. When cancer comes they are not to ask why for the answer is in their own disobedience.  For God’s word is unchanging:

Then Samuel said to Saul, “Be quiet! And I will tell you what the LORD said to me last night.” And he said to him, “Speak on.”

So Samuel said, “When you were little in your own eyes, were you not head of the tribes of Israel? And did not the LORD anoint you king over Israel?  “Now the LORD sent you on a mission, and said, ‘Go, and utterly destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are consumed.’ “Why then did you not obey the voice of the LORD? Why did you swoop down on the spoil, and do evil in the sight of the LORD?”

And Saul said to Samuel, “But I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and gone on the mission on which the LORD sent me, and brought back Agag king of Amalek; I have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. “But the people took of the plunder, sheep and oxen, the best of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice to the LORD your God in Gilgal.”

Then Samuel said:  “Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,  As in obeying the voice of the LORD?  Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,  And to heed than the fat of rams.  For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.  Because you have rejected the word of the LORD,  He also has rejected you from being king.” 1 Samuel 15:16-23

Where the River is flowing so is the LORD. There men will find Him immersed in the deeps of the Holiest of Rivers and deep within themselves if they will find Him flowing through the depths of their being in that River. But the LORD never goes where He is not invited or remains where He is not wanted. He has come and gone in many people’s lives. They have felt His passing but they continued on their way without Him and wonder where He had gone?  He went where He was wanted and received and loved. He went where He was heeded. For He is in the River and He brings life everlasting to all who desire the purity of His Presence. This is a promise of One who does not lie. When the River is flowing it calls deep to deep and brings the healing Presence of the Lord down into men’s hearts. It heals the broken heart and sets the captives free. Such is the Presence of the Lord!

Let The River Flow
by Darrell Evans

Let the poor man say, “I am rich in Him”
Let the lost man say, “I am found in Him”
Oh let the river flow
Let the blind man say, “I can see again”
Let the dead man say, “I am born again”
Oh let the river flow, oh let the river flow

Let the river flow, let the river flow
Holy Spirit come, move in power
Let the river flow, let the river flow
Holy Spirit come, move in power
Let the river flow, let the river flow
Let the river flow

ASK

20100718 Ask, Seek, Knock

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. “Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?  “Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?  “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!  “Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.   “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.  “Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. Matthew 7:7-14

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. James 1:17

“According to Jesus Christ, if we lack things in our life it’s our fault because we don’t ask. Our Father God has everything that we need and more than enough of it. And He delights to give good things to those who ask Him especially the Holy Spirit and “The Kingdom.”  Of course our enemy, the devil, will try to do everything to stop us from asking, including showing how unworthy we are of anything. And then he will even try to steal from us what God has given to us. And many people, even God’s people, just freely let him steal their health, their riches, their good name and other gifts that God has given them. Nevertheless God’s word is unchanging:

“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” Luke 11:13

“Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Luke 12:32

The kingdom of God is not only righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit but is also divine health, divine favor, divine blessings, divine prosperity, divine health and divine victory! And it’s all wrapped up in Jesus Christ who became poor so that we might be rich. It’s a fact that we are immensely rich because we have Jesus Christ and He is priceless. He is our all our, our brother, our friend, our Lord, our reward and our all. He is the best thing that we ever have or will have! And there is no one like Him or greater than He is. God’s word is unchanging:

Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!  Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:  Who forgives all your iniquities,  Who heals all your diseases,  Who redeems your life from destruction,  Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103:1-5

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.  For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth.  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. 3 John 1:2-4

But the other side of the coin about lack is that we cannot treat what God has given us freely unwisely and be unfaithful with the different gifts. One day we will give an account to God for all the gifts and giftings that He has given us. So we need to ask the Father for wisdom and discernment to handle the wealth and gifts that He give us and to use them all wisely. God’s word is unchanging:

And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?” Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you. “You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you.” And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”  Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand; and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck.  And he had him ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried out before him, “Bow the knee!” So he set him over all the land of Egypt.  Pharaoh also said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, and without your consent no man may lift his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.” Genesis 41:38-44

And you shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds the discerning and perverts the words of the righteous. Exodus 23:8

For God is my witness, how greatly I long for you all with the affection of Jesus Christ. And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ,  being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. Philippians 1:8-11

We must be filled with the Spirit of the LORD and be discerning and wise just like Joseph was if we want God to promote us and to use us greatly. We must discern good and evil and not be perverted and corrupted by others including the enemy.  We must have an understanding heart to judge God’s people and to understand to discern justice and the unsavory. Yes, we must cry out for discernment, and lift up our voice for understanding. God’s word is unchanging:

Folly is joy to him who is destitute of discernment, But a man of understanding walks uprightly. Proverbs 15:21

Strike a scoffer, and the simple will become wary; Rebuke one who has understanding, and he will discern knowledge. Proverbs 19:25

“And they shall teach My people the difference between the holy and the unholy, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean. Ezekiel 44:23

Then you shall again discern Between the righteous and the wicked, Between one who serves God And one who does not serve Him. Malachi 3:18

For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. 1 Corinthians 11:29

Yes, we must discern between the unclean and the clean, between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him. Otherwise we will find ourselves in the judgments of God for supporting the unclean and wicked ones. We must discern the times we live in as well as God’s seasons and timings in life.  And we must not be undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, and unmerciful or we will find ourselves in places we never expected to be. Yet God’s word is unchanging:

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:12-16

But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Hebrews 5:14

ASK

20110930ASK, SEEK AND KNOCK

And He said to them, “Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves;  ‘for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him’;  “and he will answer from within and say, ‘Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’? “I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.

“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Luke 11:5-10

Jesus encouraged all of  His disciples to pray to  their heavenly Father concerning their needs, spiritual, physical, and financial  and to ask, seek, and knock with a promise that “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” So if men are lacking anything and their needs are not being met it’s because they are not heeding the words of Jesus who clearly told them what to do including:

So He said to them, “When you pray, say:  Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.  Your kingdom come.  Your will be done  On earth as it is in heaven.  Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins,  For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.  And do not lead us into temptation,  But deliver us from the evil one.” Luke 11:1-4

God is more willing to give than His children are willing to ask.  Heaven is full of things that were not given or done by God to His children because they did not ask, seek and knock! God’s has done His part and His sons and daughters must do their part. For God’s word is unchanging:

Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ,    To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:  Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,  as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,  by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.  But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,  to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness,  to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.

For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.  For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. 2 Peter 1:1-9

By the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ God through His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises.  Promises that have no value if they are not believed, claimed and acted on!

It’s up to each children of God to add to His faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.  Again God has done His part and redemption plan is finished! But God’s children have to enter in and appropriate the victories of the cross and see them become a reality in their lives. “For the persistence ones Jesus has promised that God will rise and give them  as much as they need.  As God’s word is unchanging:

Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms.  Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit. James 5:13-18

The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man doesn’t avail little but much. The American Heritage Dictionary defines the word much as:

much (m¾ch) adj. more (môr, m½r), most (m½st). 1. Great in quantity, degree, or extent. –much n. 1. A large quantity or amount. 2. Something great or remarkable. –much adv.

In other words the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man produces something great or remarkable and even miraculous. As God’s word is unchanging:

When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion, We were like those who dream.  Then our mouth was filled with laughter,  And our tongue with singing.  Then they said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.”  The LORD has done great things for us,  And we are glad.

Bring back our captivity, O LORD,  As the streams in the South.  Those who sow in tears  Shall reap in joy.  He who continually goes forth weeping,  Bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing,  Bringing his sheaves with him. Psalm 126:1-6

Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord-that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful. James 5:11

Well if the prayers of one righteous man produce great results, how about the collective prayers of many righteous ones? They will produce even greater results:

So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them,  “who by the mouth of Your servant David have said:  ‘Why did the nations rage, And the people plot vain things?  The kings of the earth took their stand,  And the rulers were gathered together  Against the LORD and against His Christ.’ “For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together  “to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done.

“Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, “by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”

And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.  Acts 4:24-31

ASK

your joyTHE GREAT ESCAPE :

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. – Proverbs 3:5-6

Once you start stepping out in faith and walking in the Spirit, the devil will see to it that you have ample opportunity to fall flat on your spiritual face. He’ll try to get you into some jams where there appears to be no way out.

But take it from me as one who’s been there, if you’ll look to God and trust His wisdom instead of your own, He’ll always show you a way of escape (1 Cor. 10:13). Not only that, but He’ll do it in such a way that He’ll get the glory and you’ll have the last laugh on the devil.

I remember one particular Wednesday night in Wichita Falls, Texas, where I was faced with just such a situation. I was preaching on the reality of the righteousness of God, and the anointing was really strong. Just as my message reached its climactic moment, a woman in the audience suddenly burst forth in tongues. I told her to stop three times, but she only continued to grow louder. By the time she hushed, the anointing had gone and the message was forgotten. So I looked at that woman sternly and began to correct her for being out of order.

Then a man sitting next to her spoke up and said, “Brother, she is stone deaf. She can’t hear a word you’re saying.”

At that point, I had no idea what to do. Not only had my sermon been shattered, but the whole congregation was mad at me for getting onto that poor deaf woman. (I found out later the man next to her used her to disrupt services and run preachers out of town. When the service reached a high point, he’d punch her and tell her it was her turn to prophesy.)

So I just stopped a moment and got quiet and waited for the Lord to tell me what to do. Sure enough, He told me. He said, “Call her up and lay hands on her and I’ll open her ears.”

Talk about a turnaround! When God healed that woman’s ears, He turned that disaster into one of the most powerfully anointed meetings I’d ever had. Everybody was blessed!

Next time the devil tries to back you into a corner, get quiet. Ask God to show you the way of escape. He’ll bring you out in victory every time.

 KNOW YOUR COMMANDER IN CHIEF

2 PETER 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

I once had a conversation with a medical doctor about spiritual warfare. She said to me, “When there is a condition in your body, you must know what the correct medical name for it is so that you can pray against it accurately.” Then, she told me somewhat smugly, “As someone who’s been in the army, you should know this: The most important military strategy is to know your enemy.”

I smiled at her and said, “Actually, I believe that the most important military strategy is not to know your enemy, but to know your commander in chief and his directives for you.”

My friend, do you know your commander in chief, Jesus Christ? The Bible tells us that unmerited favor and peace are multiplied in our lives through the knowledge of Jesus our Lord and God. So spend time at the feet of Jesus. See His grace and love toward you in His Word. This is how you experience more of His unmerited favor and shalom-peace. This is how you walk in total well-being and good success!

‘LORD, I CANNOT, BUT YOU CAN!’

PHILIPPIANS 2:13 – for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

Have you ever tried to break a bad habit on your own? You probably found that when you tried to stop it by sheer willpower, you saw improvement for a while, and then bounced back to square one. Worse, you found yourself binging on the very thing that you were trying not to do. And your condition is worse than before you started your “I’m going to quit” program!

The changes were temporary because it was you doing it.

A church member who had been a chain-smoker used to believe that with willpower, he could quit smoking. He would tell himself, “If there is a will, there is a way!” But he discovered that with willpower, he could stop smoking for a week or two, and then he would succumb to the pull of nicotine again.

When he turned his life over to God and learnt about God’s grace, he told God, “I realize that I cannot stop smoking. I cannot, but You can break my habit, Lord.” And every time he lit up, he would say, “Lord, I am trying to stop smoking, but I cannot. I am trusting You.” He would even say, “I am still righteous because of Jesus’ blood.”

Well, in the very same year, all his cravings to smoke vanished! When asked how he succeeded, he would say, “It is entirely God and none of me! It is all by His grace.” This man lost all the desire to smoke. That is true transformation.

When you receive the grace of God to do for you what you cannot do, you will experience effortless and permanent change on the inside, which in turn changes your actions on the outside. The Bible tells us that God works in us to give us both the will and ability to perform what He desires. It is God who removes the old want to’s and gives us new ones. And He even gives us the power to carry them out!

Beloved, look to His grace to do what you cannot do. Say, “Lord, I cannot, but You can!” Then, what you experience will not merely be behavior modification, but true and lasting inward transformation!

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19).

Repentance is having a change of heart, a change of mind, and a change of direction away from sin. When we repent, the Lord will refresh our spirits and souls.

WHAT HAS GOD SAID ABOUT YOU?

‘[He] will be proved right in what [He] says.’ Romans 3:4 NLT

Paul writes, ‘What’s the advantage of being a Jew?…Yes, there are great benefits! First of all, the Jews were entrusted with the whole revelation of God. True, some of them were unfaithful; but just because they were unfaithful, does that mean God will be unfaithful? Of course not!…[He] will be proved right in what [He] says.’ (Romans 3:1-3 NLT) God has spoken specific things concerning you. Those things are His for your life. You must believe them, carry them within you and speak them over your life. Don’t be held back by the notion that everybody has to accept what God has said about you. Your vision should be independent of outside support. That’s a difficult concept to grasp, especially in a democracy, where others vote and the majority rules. God’s Kingdom is a theocracy: only one voice and one vote counts – His! Refuse to put your vision on hold, waiting for everybody to come into agreement with you. Not only do they not have to support you, they don’t even have to believe what God has told you! You can’t afford to wait for them to get comfortable with your vision before you pursue it. When people misunderstand you or refuse to help you, you can still get there without them. God is a covenant-making, covenant-keeping God and what He has spoken over your life will surely come to pass. If you doubt that, read this: ‘…My Word…will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.’ (Isaiah 55:11 NIV) That’s all the validation you need!

PRAYER TO END THE DAY :

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)

In the night, I remember Your name O Lord! The day is done and my works ran well under Your grace. This is a blessed day for I received Your enlightenment and new knowledge by reading Your holy words. May my heart is filled full with Your decrees and wisdom that I make a good disciple at this End-time period! Bless me O God, remember me with favor O Lord, for all I have done in Your name.

Gratefully, in Jesus’ holy name, Amen. !!!!

ASK

ABASK TO HEAR HIM BETTER :

I will listen to what God the Lord says… – Psalm 85:8, NIV

Oftentimes, people think they can’t hear from God. They think He doesn’t talk to them. But really, it isn’t that God isn’t speaking; it’s not that He isn’t giving us direction. The problem is that we’re not always paying attention.

Learning to hear the voice of God is the most important skill you could ever develop. The more you pay attention to Him and the inner promptings and impressions of the Holy Spirit, the more you will know Him and see His goodness and protection in your life. How would your life be different if every morning you would wake up and pray, “God, help my spiritual ears to be open and sensitive to Your voice. God, help me to hear what You’re saying today”?

Today, know that God wants to give you wisdom, direction, protection and guidance that will save you heartache and make your life easier. He wants to give you breaks that will put you years ahead. If you’ll ask to hear Him better and learn to be still and listen, you’ll experience God’s hand of blessing and His direction in every area of your life

WORD POWER :

Matthew 14:29, “And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.”

This one word “come” was spoken by the one who made all things (Jn. 1:3) and it had just as much power in it as the words that were spoken at creation. This is where the power came from for Peter to walk on the water. Likewise, any word spoken to us by God carries in itself the anointing and power it takes to fulfill that word, if we will release it by believing it and acting on it.

We need to not only know God’s power, but the greatness of God’s power, and then the exceeding greatness of God’s power. This exceeding greatness of God’s power is towards us. That means that it is for us and our benefit. Some people get glimpses of God’s power, but very few have the revelation that it is for us and at our disposal. It doesn’t do us any good to believe that God has power if we don’t believe that it will work for us. This great power of God is effectual only for those who believe. We must believe to receive, or if we doubt, we do without.

Despite all the criticism that might be leveled at Peter in this instance, he did walk on the water. There were eleven other disciples in the boat and although they clearly saw Jesus and Peter walking on the water, they still did not participate. One of the important steps in receiving a miracle from God is to leave the security of your natural resources (get out of your boat) and put yourself in the position where there has to be a miracle from God to hold you up. God is no respecter of persons (Rom. 2:11). Any of the disciples could have walked on the water, if they would have asked and gotten out of the boat.

TRUST IN THE LORD

Scripture says in Proverbs three to “trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” That’s not always the easiest thing to do. We are human, and we are so used to trying to figure everything out on our own. It’s hard to turn away from what you can see, feel and understand. Sometimes, it’s so foreign to just let go and trust God. But, we have to realize that trust begins by making a choice. You have to decide to fully commit your heart to trusting God, and then your mind and emotions will follow.

When you were growing up, did you ever play that game where someone stands behind you and you just fall back into their arms? The first time I played that game with my older brother, I would start to lean back, and then I’d just take a step back and catch myself before falling. He’d say, “Fall back, I’ll catch you!” But I still wouldn’t do it for the longest time. Eventually, I decided in my heart to just trust him and fall back, and of course, my brother caught me. (He’d have a lot to explain to my father if he hadn’t!) After he caught me the first time, I had no problem doing it again because he proved himself to me, and I trusted him.

That’s what you have to do in your relationship with God. Remember, He is the friend that sticks closer than a brother. He will never leave you and never forsake you. He loves you with an everlasting love, and you can trust Him today with every area of your life.

Maybe it’s not easy for you to trust. Maybe you have some obstacles today that seem overwhelming. Maybe you’ve tried to trust, but you’ve ended up just taking a step backward and leaning on your own understanding. Today, I want to encourage you to cast your cares on Him. Cast the weights that are trying to overwhelm you. Make the decision to trust and just lean back into the arms of Almighty God.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6, NKJV)

Whatever you are faced with right now, Jesus wants you to rest and to cast that care upon Him.

Instead of fretting over the situation, go to Him and say, “Lord, I know You love me and You care for me. You don’t want me to carry this care, so right now I put it in Your hands. I know that You will make a way for me” (1 Peter 5:7).

See the problem in His nail-pierced hands and be at rest knowing that the Lord, your God, is now working behind the scenes on your behalf!

PRAYER POWER :

Luke 11:1 – “And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, ‘Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples’.”

When you consider that Jesus was the greatest miracle worker who ever walked the earth and the greatest preacher who ever lived, it is amazing that His disciples asked Him to teach them to pray. Why didn’t they ask Him to teach them how to work these miracles or how to preach and amaze the people with their doctrine?

It’s because Jesus’ prayer life was even more powerful than His miracles or His doctrine. Indeed, it was His union with the Father that gave Him His power to work miracles and His authority to speak as no man had ever spoken before. Jesus said repeatedly that it was His Father who was doing the miracles through Him and that His doctrine was not His own but the Father’s.

The same holds true today. Jesus said in John 15:5 that without Him, we can do nothing. There are many things that we should do in addition to prayer, but there is nothing that we can effectively do without prayer. Prayer is one of the main ways of abiding in Him (John 15:7). Therefore, our request should be like these disciples’ — “Lord, teach us to pray.”

We should come expecting to receive answers to prayer. The Father is ready and willing to answer our prayers. Just ask and you shall receive

The Gospel Saves In Every Situation

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes…     Romans 1:16

Each time you hear the gospel of Christ, you are hearing God’s good news for you. And the Bible tells us that the gospel of Christ — the good news that God wants all men to hear — is the very power of God for your salvation, not just from hell, but also from illnesses, financial lack, harm, a failing marriage — every aspect of your life that needs saving!

You may say, “Pastor, I’ve heard the gospel of Christ, but it seems like I am one of those whom the power of God has missed.” My friend, when you hear the gospel of Christ, do you really believe it? You cannot just understand it in your mind. You must know and believe the good news in your heart, and then you will see that it is the power of God for your salvation.

But what is the good news that God wants you to know in your heart, which will release the power and salvation of God into your situation?

“For in it [the good news] the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith…” (Romans 1:17) The good news is that you are the righteousness of God in Christ, which you receive from faith to faith.

This means that this righteousness comes because you have faith in His blood, not your good behavior, to make you righteous. It is from faith to faith, not faith to works, or works to works.

The good news is not preached to show you what is wrong with you. It is preached to show you what is right with you because of Jesus’ work at Calvary, in spite of what is wrong with you!

There is nothing left for you to do to earn God’s blessings for your life. You only need to hear and believe the all-encompassing saving power of the gospel of Christ to heal you of diseases, preserve you from danger, prosper your finances and bring well-being to your family.

The world may say that the good news is too good to be true. But for those of us who are the righteousness of God in Christ, the good news is so good because it is indeed true!

Thought For The Day
Hearing and believing the good news will release the power of God into your situation.

REVERSAL AND RESTORATION

GOD REVERSED AND RESTORED ALL THINGS FOR JOB AND THROUGH CHRIST JESUS HE CAN DO THE SAME FOR YOU

JOB 42:10 And the LORD restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
11 Then all his brothers, all his sisters, and all those who had been his acquaintances before, came to him and ate food with him in his house; and they consoled him and comforted him for all the adversity that the LORD had brought upon him. Each one gave him a piece of silver and each a ring of gold.
12 Now the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys.
13 He also had seven sons and three daughters.
14 And he called the name of the first Jemimah, the name of the second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-Happuch.
15 In all the land were found no women so beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.
16 After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations.
17 So Job died, old and full of days.

It Is Finished!

So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.   John 19:30

Imagine looking at Leonardo da Vinci’s famous Mona Lisa painting in the Louvre museum. Would you think of adding more brush strokes to it? Of course not! It was done by a master, so what could you possibly add to the painting to improve it?

In the same way, that is how we are to look at Jesus’ work on the cross. He cried out, “It is finished!” You cannot complete a completed work. You cannot finish a finished work. Our salvation is won. Our sins are all forgiven. We are made forever righteous by His blood. Christ paid completely and perfectly for our total forgiveness, righteousness and every blessing!

In fact, these three words, “It is finished”, come from one Greek word teleo. In the days of Jesus, a servant would use it when reporting to his master: “I have completed the work assigned to me.” (John 17:4) The word means, “It is finished, it stands finished and it will always be finished!” Perhaps the most significant meaning of teleo is how it is used by merchants: “The debt is paid in full!” When Jesus gave Himself on the cross, He met fully the righteous demands of the law. He paid our debts in full!

Today, it is not our works that will bring us the blessings. It is Christ’s finished work. Christian living is not about doing, but believing in His finished work. Under the law, we must do. Under grace, it is done!

Maybe you are faced with overwhelming odds today. Jesus promises, “It is finished!” You are not going to be delivered because you have already been delivered. You are not going to be healed because you are already the healed! God healed you 2,000 years ago! Isaiah 53:5 declares, “By His stripes you are healed!” You are already pregnant with healing. Keep resting in His finished work and it will manifest!

My friend, the work is finished. The victory is won. Our enemies have been made His footstool. Our blessings have been bought by His blood! Live life knowing that there is nothing for you to do — only believe! It is finished!

Thought For The Day
It is believing in Christ’s

PRAYER FOR THE DAY :

“If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast.” (Psalm 139: 9-10)

Dear Lord God, I praise You. I honor You. This is the day the Lord has made; let me rejoice and be glad in it. Let the larks sing out a new song to greet the Lord when all the happy angels are singing hymns of praise around the holy throne. I lift up my voice to praise God and pray that surely mercy and grace shall follow me all the days of my life, I lack of nothing for God is my creator and provider.

Gratefully, in Jesus’ holy name. Amen !!!

Activating the Nine Gifts of the Holy Spirit in You

Gifts of the holy spirit
Scripture declares that He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and power. The Holy Ghost is the power of God. You can expect Him to take an active role in your life as you experience the nine gifts of the Spirit, the anointing, and signs, wonders and miracles. After Christ’s resurrection he met with His disciples for forty days teaching about the kingdom of God. He told them not to go into the world until they received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. He said they would receive power to witness in all the world “after” the Holy Ghost had come on them (Acts 1:8). This is significant. Jesus knew what it would take to build a Church the gates of hell could not prevail against.

Not only will the Holy Ghost help you strengthen your spirit man, pray effectively, give you power to witness but He will also use you to flow in the supernatural power of God. The Holy Spirit is promised to every believer. He was given to empower you to do what God has called you to do. In other words, you are gifted by Him to do great things. When the Holy Ghost comes on you, not only will you speak with other tongues and prophesy like those in Scripture, you will also be a candidate for the manifestation of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit. Scripture lays out the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit as following.

“Now there are diversities of gifts but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.” (1 Corinthians 12:4-11)

Notice “the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.” When you receive “the gift”, the Holy Spirit, you also receive the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit “dividing to every man severally as He wills.” These gifts are not just for the preacher, they are for every born again believer that is baptized with the Holy Ghost. He is that “same Spirit” Paul was referring to.

REVELATION, POWER AND UTTERANCE

The nine manifestations of the Holy Spirit can be broken down into three categories: revelation gifts, power gifts, and utterance gifts.

REVELATION GIFTS (A gift manifestation that knows something.)
1. A word of wisdom
2. A word of knowledge
3. Discerning of spirits

POWER GIFTS (A gift manifestation that does something.)
4. Gift of faith
5. Gifts of healing
6. Miracles

UTTERANCE GIFTS (A gift manifestation that speaks something.)
7. Prophecy
8. Divers (diverse) kinds of tongues
9. Interpretation of tongues

These manifestations of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit are given to every son and daughter of God after they are baptized in the Holy Ghost.

As already said, before Jesus was baptized by the Holy Ghost there were no miracles, healings, casting out demons, walking on water, rebuking storms, cursing fig trees or raising the dead. This is a simple but profound truth, Jesus, the Word of God made flesh, had no miracle working power until the Holy Ghost came on him. If Jesus needed the Holy Ghost for effective ministry so do you.

WITH SIGNS FOLLOWING

Christ gave us other examples of the Holy Spirit working in the lives of believers. “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following” (Mark 16:15-20). These ‘signs that follow’ manifestations include:
Casting out devils
Speaking with new tongues
Taking up (Greek airō, removing) serpents
Laying hands on the sick for healing

All of these are examples of the work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of born again believers. As already said, after Christ’ resurrection he told His disciples they would receive power after the Holy Ghost came on them. That same Holy Ghost power is available to you. Expect the Holy Spirit to take an active role in your life manifesting the nine gifts of the Spirit, advancing the Kingdom of God with the anointing, and with signs, wonders and mighty miracles following them that believe.

PRAYER

Let’s pray this simple prayer for the baptism of the Holy Spirit together.

Jesus, you are my Lord and my Savior. Lord, I want everything you have to give me including the Holy Ghost. I want the same precious gift of the Holy Spirit you poured out on your servants in that Upper Room. By faith and according to your word, baptize me and fill me right now with your Holy Spirit. I accept your promise and baptism by faith. In Jesus’ name I pray.

When you are baptized with the Holy Ghost God supernaturally connects your tongue to your spirit man. So after you pray this prayer remember the Holy Spirit does not pray in tongues, you do. The Holy Spirit simply gives you the utterance to pray. Paul said, “For if I pray in an unknown tongue my spirit prayeth…” So open your mouth right now, do not pray in any language you know and by faith go ahead and start praying.

Do You Know What to Ask For?

And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. – Mark 10:51

All of us know what it’s like to go round in circles. To pray our way through one financial disaster only to be met by another. To receive healing for one illness just in time to be knocked off our feet by the next.

Oh, we try. We pray. We exercise our faith. But we keep getting caught in the same old problems over and over again. Why? Because all too often, we don’t actually know what it is we need to be praying for.

I can almost hear your reaction. “Believe me, Brother Copeland, that’s not my problem. I know what I need. It’s getting that need met that’s got me running in circles.”

That’s what most other folks think too. So they spend all their time working on getting. They waste their energy praying for things they don’t really need and asking for things they don’t really want. Then they wind up going nowhere fast.

Look with me at Mark 10, and I think you’ll see what I mean. Blind Bartimaeus sat by the roadside begging when Jesus passed by. “And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me…. And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way” (verses 47,50-52).

Now I want you to think about something for a moment. In the light of what the Scriptures tell us, how many needs did Bartimaeus have? Did he have just one? No! He wasn’t simply a blind man, he was a beggar. He probably had more problems than you could shake a stick at, and all those problems would have seemed like legitimate needs to Bartimaeus. But it was sight he needed. If he could obtain his sight, all the rest would fall into line.

He knew that. So, when Jesus said, “Bartimaeus, what do you want Me to do for you?” he knew exactly what to ask for and he got it.

Jesus is just as available to you today as He was to Bartimaeus. He’s just as willing to meet your need. The question is, do you really know what to ask for?

Think about that. Pray about it. Let the Lord Jesus open your eyes and show you what you really need. If you do that, your prayers will take on a whole new power. Instead of hitting around at the edges of your problems, they’ll go straight to the heart–and solve them. And you won’t have to waste your life running in circles anymore.

You Ask and Do Not Receive!

20101014

When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the temple. And the priests could not enter the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD’S house. When all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD on the temple, they bowed their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped and praised the LORD, saying: “For He is good, For His mercy endures forever.” Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the LORD. 2 Chronicles 7:1-4

The bible is definitely not hedonistic but tells things as they are both good and bad. God wants and desires to give His children many good things. He has stated in His word:

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
“Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? “Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Matthew 7:7-11

But God has also given some conditions that God along with His word on receiving good things including:

“Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. “Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. Matthew 7:12-15

Many pastors and preachers have promised God’s people many things which only deceive them and are not true. For those who have an evil and wicked lustful heart and ask things shall not receive them, because they ask things for the wrong reasons. God’s word clearly states:

You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. James 4:4-2

Many of God’s people, including their religious leaders, are more friends of the world than they are friends of God. They try to serve God and mammon and hopes that He does not notice their betrayal. They are like the poor ground that Jesus talked about who had no depth and endured only for a while. When tribulation or persecution arose because of the word, immediately they stumbled. While others received the seed of the Word of God, heard it, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choked the word, and they became unfruitful.

Men offer many solutions to problems. They are very resourceful and powerful in their minds and they deceive many with their crafty ideas. They bring many to walk along new and diverse paths that lead directly away from God. But God’s true ones are not to be deceived by them. They are all liars and children of lies. God in Christ Jesus has only one way and that is the Cross. He has no pat answers except to be covered with the Blood of Jesus and yield all their person to Him.  Men are drawn away and become enticed by their passions and lusts resulting in personal defeat and destruction. Many perish in flames of their own making. They desire the comfort of their high lifestyle missing the point of the Lord’s birth and death. It was meant to set men free of themselves–their selfish ways. Man always proposes but God disposes. He will do away with everyone and everything that is not of Him.

True prayer should bring down the Holy Ghost fire from heaven and the glory of the LORD should fill the temple which are God’s people. God’s word is true:

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17

Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20

Pastor Karl Strader, whose Carpenter’s Home Church had a great membership fight and split and whose son was put into jail for 45 years for robbing and raping financially the sheep with his dad’s help, once stated that every time there would be a prayer and fasting in the church, he would get himself in trouble. Well the Holy Ghost is a fire who deals with carnality in the lives of God’s people. Those who are carnal and refuse to change will only get in trouble with God when they pray.

The fact of the matter is that God is never on the side of the evil and wicked even if they are evangelical pastors and preachers. He is on the side of seeking and doing true justice, righteousness and truth and being blameless before God and men.  The reasons that God blessed Abraham and judged Sodom and Gomorrah is true today for any one just like it was yesterday and will be tomorrow.

Then the men rose from there and looked toward Sodom, and Abraham went with them to send them on the way. And the LORD said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing, “since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? “For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice, that the LORD may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.”
And the LORD said, “Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave, “I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me; and if not, I will know.” Then the men turned away from there and went toward Sodom, but Abraham still stood before the LORD. Genesis 18:16-22

According to the Lord, Abraham was going to be a great and mighty nation because God knew that He would command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice. When was the last time you heard a preacher in the house of God talked about doing righteousness and justice?  You will hear about Souls. souls and souls and money,  money and money but very little about keeping the way of the Lord, being blameless before God and men, not showing partiality or being a respecter of person, or that God’s judgments comes upon groups of people and individuals when others cry out to God because of their injustices and the sins of others.

God is a God of love and compassion and mercies and grace but He does not take sin or injustices lightly. He patiently waits for people to repent and to bring fruits worthy of repentance. Then when they do not He brings about sudden and terrible judgment. God has never through out history changed in doing this.  His word is true:

For the upright will dwell in the land, And the blameless will remain in it;  But the wicked will be cut off from the earth,  And the unfaithful will be uprooted from it. Proverbs 2:21-22

Do not enter the path of the wicked, And do not walk in the way of evil.  Avoid it, do not travel on it;  Turn away from it and pass on.  For they do not sleep unless they have done evil;  And their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall.  For they eat the bread of wickedness,  And drink the wine of violence.  But the path of the just is like the shining sun,  That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.  The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know what makes them stumble. Psalm 4;14-19

The definition of what is evil is a very interesting thing. It does not matter what men define to be evil but what God defines as evil. In God’s eyes even a good thing can be defined as evil.  God knows and sees the heart and the motivations of a man in any matter even a charitable deed and a silent prayer.  God’s word records:

Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much. Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans. So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; “for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.” Matthew 12:41-44

Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. “The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men-extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. ‘I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’
“And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!'”I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 18:9-14

Men get demoted and humbled by God and they can not understand why. They do not see their self righteousness, hypocrisy, and sins and they think that life is unfair. But God knows and sees everything and His word is true:

Do not take me away with the wicked And with the workers of iniquity, Who speak peace to their neighbors,  But evil is in their hearts.  Give them according to their deeds, And according to the wickedness of their endeavors; Give them according to the work of their hands; Render to them what they deserve.  Because they do not regard the works of the LORD,  Nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them  And not build them up.  Blessed be the LORD,  Because He has heard the voice of my supplications! Psalm 28:3-6

O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongs-O God, to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth! Rise up, O Judge of the earth; Render punishment to the proud. LORD, how long will the wicked, How long will the wicked triumph? They utter speech, and speak insolent things; All the workers of iniquity boast in themselves.  They break in pieces Your people, O LORD,  And afflict Your heritage. They slay the widow and the stranger,  And murder the fatherless.  Yet they say, “The LORD does not see, Nor does the God of Jacob understand.”
Understand, you senseless among the people;  And you fools, when will you be wise? He who planted the ear, shall He not hear?  He who formed the eye, shall He not see?  He who instructs the nations, shall He not correct,  He who teaches man knowledge?  The LORD knows the thoughts of man,  That they are futile. Psalm 94:1-11

Men are foolish to think that God who is the Judge of the earth, shall not hear, see, correct men and bring vengeance, punishment and judgment to the proud and those who speak insolent things.  In other words they are real unwise in not seeing that they will reap what they have sown. They have sown discord, selfishness, self-pity, greed, lust and pride of life. But they do not want to face the consequences of their actions and attitudes. They have had no pity on others but only hard heartedness and protest that they are innocent of the calamity that has befallen on them. They missed the words of God which states:

Oh, love the LORD, all you His saints! For the LORD preserves the faithful, And fully repays the proud person. Psalm 31:23

Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is with those who uphold my life.  He will repay my enemies for their evil.  Cut them off in Your truth. I will freely sacrifice to You;  I will praise Your name, O LORD, for it is good.  For He has delivered me out of all trouble;  And my eye has seen its desire upon my enemies. Psalm 54:4-7

Many who call themselves God’s children according to God’s point of view  are  foolish and corrupt and self-centered. They care only for self. They are cynical and unkind and unloving and cruel to others. They have not understood the seriousness of the word of Jesus to them:

“Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. “And when he had begun to settle accounts, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. “But as he was not able to pay, his master commanded that he be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and that payment be made.
“The servant therefore fell down before him, saying, ‘Master, have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’
“Then the master of that servant was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt. “But that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, ‘Pay me what you owe!’
“So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’ “And he would not, but went and threw him into prison till he should pay the debt.
“So when his fellow servants saw what had been done, they were very grieved, and came and told their master all that had been done. “Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. ‘Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?’
“And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him. “So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses.”  Matthew 18:23-35

The measure that people measure to others is also measured by God to them. Then people wonder why such terrible judgment has hit them. Be it financially calamity or a natural disaster. God not only judges and instructs nations, He also does it to individuals and groups of people in the current time of life.  So sometimes people ask and receive things that they have never expected because they have never dealt by the Holy Spirit with the evil and wickedness in their heart. Then they are surprised instead of being blessed they had been cursed by God. But it is their own choices and deeds that result in the appropriate consequences. God only gave them what they had sowed and believed for both good and bad?
