Do You Need a Miracle Today?

As I travel around the world, it doesn’t matter what state or country I am in, it seems there is one thing that I find everywhere. There are people who need a miracle. They need it desperately. They need it today.

So what is it that activates the miracle in your life? What is it that can turn everything around? What is it that can turn desperation into a joyful celebration?

When you can’t think of a way out of your impending disaster, you must know this. God can make a way where there is no way. God doesn’t just find a way of escape that you couldn’t find. He creates one that you would never find, because it didn’t exist. God is a creative miracle God. So, when your back is against the wall, quit looking for a way out and start looking to the Source of your deliverance.

The enemy has an agenda. His desire is to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). If you are a born again believer, then you carry within you the Spirit of God on this earth and you become the target for the attacks of the enemy. But the truth is the Spirit that is possessing you is greater than the spirit attacking you (1 John 4:4). And when all the spiritual dust settles, the Spirit within you will be standing and the spirit attacking you will be fleeing.

It’s time to choose sides. It’s time to decide who you are going to believe and swear your allegiance to. Are you going to believe the words of the One who is victorious or are you going to believe the words of the one who will be fleeing? The words you agree with will determine the outcome of your situation.

You may be wanting a miracle, deliverance, and victory in your life. God’s Word has promised you these things. But these promises are conditional. They are activated by faith. Faith is not just knowing that God can deliver you, but faith is hearing God’s promise of deliverance, deciding to believe it, speaking it until it becomes so embedded in your heart that everything you do is based on that belief.

So, it comes down to this. Unless you know God’s promise, you will not know what to believe in. Where are His promises? They are found in His Word, the Holy Bible. And unless we hear His promise, we have no foundation for our faith.

So, what is the practical application of all of this? If the miracle you need is healing for your body, then you must find God’s promises in His Word and hear them, either from someone else or from your own voice. Quote God’s healing promise every day. And eventually it will get into your heart and the miracle of healing will take place. To help you on this, here are a couple of healing promises from God.

“… By His stripes you were healed” (1 Peter 2:24).

“… Forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases” (Psalm 103:2-3).

If the miracle you need is a financial miracle, then do the same thing. Find verses in God’s Word that tell what God wants for you in the area of finances. Some good verses are:

“… For your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich” (2 Corinthians 8:9).

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers” (3 John 2).

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33).

“Honor the LORD with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine” (Proverbs 3:9-10).

If your heart is broken because someone has betrayed you or because of the disappointments of life, then you must know that Jesus said in Luke 4 that He came to heal the brokenhearted.

“… He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted” (Luke 4:18).

Find the verses that promise what you need and then activate them with the catalyst called faith. Remember, faith is not just believing. Faith is hearing, believing, and speaking God’s Word until it is settled in your heart and then acting on your heart

GOD CARES FOR YOU AND WANTS TO GIVE YOU A MIRACLE

Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”  Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,  casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.  Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.  But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.  To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 5: 5-11

When we read the gospels we see Jesus Christ, God’s incarnate, love and care for each sick and hurting person, regardless of their negative circumstance. The gospel of John chapter 4 tells us  Jesus left Judea and departed again to Galilee, but He needed to go through Samaria. And  Jesus  , being wearied from His journey, sat thus by  Jacob’s well where a Samaritan woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus asked of her, “Give Me a drink.” She said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”  Contrary to the customs of the day carried on a very deep discussion with this woman who turned out to be an adulterous. She said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.” Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.” Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.”

The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” Then they went out of the city and came to Him. And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.” So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. And many more believed because of His own word.
Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

Then after the two days Jesus  departed from there and went to   Cana of Galilee where He had made the water wine at a wedding feast. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and implored Him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. Then Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.” The nobleman said to Him, “Sir, come down before my child dies!” Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son lives.” So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, “Your son lives!” Then he inquired of them the hour when he got better. And they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.” So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.” And he himself believed, and his whole household.

We have here two great examples of Jesus Christ meeting needy people at the point of need and giving them their needed miracle. And because He   is the same yesterday today and forever He can and will meet you at the point of your need and give you a needed miracle if you will only believe!

God Was With Him

“how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38

Andrew Wommack  in his article How To Receive A Miracle writes

A miracle — the supernatural intervention of God. All of us have needed a miracle in the past, need one now, or will need of one in the future. The problem is that most Christians don’t know how to receive a miracle from God.

The best advice is don’t wait until a storm hits to learn how to believe God for a miracle. During a storm, emotions will cancel out your faith.

It’s good to clarify the difference between a blessing and a miracle. A miracle is a supernatural intervention of God in a crisis situation. A blessing is still God’s power, but it flows through natural channels. Blessings are better than miracles. If you live your life from one miracle to the next, you will live from crisis to crisis. It’s better to be blessed with good health than to always need divine healing. God’s will is for us to walk in blessing.

We all need a miracle at some time to simply jump-start our faith. If it weren’t for miracles, we wouldn’t grow to the point where we could walk in the blessings of God. Most Christians believe that God does miracles, but simply believing God is able to do it is not enough. You must know how to receive it.

Many Christians just wish and hope it happens. They think there is no way to grab a hold of miracles and make them happen. That’s not what the Bible teaches.

God is predictable and orderly. He doesn’t do one thing this time and another thing another time. God created this world and everything physical around us, and the physical world is orderly. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is forever faithful.

Faith is governed by laws. Romans 3:27 says, “Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.” The kingdom of God operates under law. It is consistent. When someone is killed due to the law of gravity, we may wonder why God did that. He didn’t, but there are laws that He put in place.

Gravity says that if you jump off a building, you will be killed. If you cooperate with God’s laws, you will be fine. If you ignore those laws, you can be killed by the laws intended for your good. It’s the same with the spiritual laws of God.

So, how do you receive a miracle from God? First, you must recognize that miracles are not just hit and miss. You can tap into a miracle. You learn the laws of God and how they work, and miracles will happen. I’m not saying you can push a button and God pops out or you can make God do whatever you want. I’m saying God is turned on all the time and any time, you get turned on, you can see the power of God operate. God is always wanting to move on your behalf. God is for you — He is a good God.

God’s desire is for you to prosper (Ps. 35:27). God’s will is for you to be healthy (3 John 2). God’s will is for you to be above only and not beneath (Deut. 28:13).

You are the one who controls God’s ability in your life. God doesn’t. It is God’s power and His ability, but it’s up to you. The Scripture says in Ephesians 3:20, “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” Many people leave off that last phrase, “according to the power that worketh in us.” If there is no power in you, you can stop God’s intervention in your life. God has chosen to never violate your will. God has chosen to flow through you. Satan can’t stop God’s power, but you can. God wants you to have a miracle, but you have to stop waiting and start believing.

The most important miracle in the Bible is the virgin birth of Jesus. God came and lived in a physical body — now that’s a miracle. The account is found in Luke 1.

The angel came and spoke to Mary of this miracle. The miracle happened when Mary answered (in verse 38), “Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.” When God creates, He speaks it into existence by His Word.

God did all His miracles by the spoken Word. In Genesis, He created the world by the spoken Word. Hebrews 11 tells us, “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” The important point is that your words are involved in your miracle.

Many Christians put prayer above all and believe that if you pray, it will happen. Prayer is like water or fertilizer that you put on the seed. But, without planting a seed, watering is useless. If God was moved by need, every person’s need would be met. Also, those in the worst situations would get their needs met first. That’s not true.

You must plant a seed, which is the Word of God. First Peter 1:23 says, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” We are born again of incorruptible seed — the Word of God. The word “seed” in this scripture means sperm. We are born of a supernatural union and the seed of the Word of God.

Farmers believe that if you plant wheat, you get wheat. If you plant corn, you get corn. They don’t question it — they are simply laws. Everybody agrees with that in the natural; but when it comes to spiritual things, most people don’t believe that.

But the truth is, if you aren’t reaping what the Word of God says, you haven’t planted what the Word of God says to plant. You reap what you sow. If the Word of God is primary in your life, you’re going to get the results of the Word of God. That doesn’t mean Satan won’t fight you and you won’t have problems. The end result will be you’re going to have what the Word of God says. Satan may fight you, but you’ll win. Many of us know this intellectually, but in our hearts, there is fear or reservation. We don’t have the absolute confidence that God’s Word is going to prevail in our lives.

Romans 8:6 says, “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” If all you think about is the Word of God, that’s all you’ll get. You may not be thinking, I want to be sick, but your thinking has been sick. Proverbs 4:22 tells us that the Word of God is “life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.”

When God wanted to bring Jesus into the earth, He couldn’t just create Jesus. God gave all authority over the earth to man. God did not rule directly over the affairs of the earth. After man blew it, God couldn’t come down here and intervene. He had to work through man. God was looking for a man to flow through but couldn’t find one. So, He had to come Himself (Is. 59:16). In the virgin birth, the Word of God was the seed. Everything else about the birth was natural. God spoke that miracle into existence.

I believe every one of us has a spiritual womb where the Word of God enters in and germinates, and we conceive a miracle. Sometimes you may receive a miracle as a gift through someone else’s faith. You can’t depend on someone else; God wants you to be able to conceive a miracle. Meditate on the Word day and night, and you will get spiritually pregnant and bring forth fruit.

It’s impossible to have a miracle without planting the Word of God. One farmer thought he could violate the laws of God. He waited to plant wheat until everyone else’s wheat was about ready to harvest. He planted $100,000 worth of wheat the month before harvest. When it didn’t come up and he lost his money, he came and wanted me to pray. I told him that’s not the way it works. You don’t sow a crop when you want a crop. Some of us haven’t had the seed planted in us, but we want the crop. There is a time of sowing and reaping (Gal. 6:9).

We don’t just naturally grow up believing God. It takes renewing our minds. God’s Word is the most important step to receive a miracle. Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” You can’t just know the Word intellectually. You must meditate on it so it becomes living and active on the inside of you. Most of us don’t meditate on the Word as we should. We are occupied and don’t have time, and we are upset with God when we don’t receive our miracle. That’s just as foolish as the man who didn’t plant his seed but was upset when he didn’t receive a crop.

If God’s Word is planted in your heart, you’ll receive. It doesn’t matter what you feel — God’s Word will produce a miracle.

Most of us have had times when we have prayed a prayer of faith, and our prayers seemed to go unanswered. Maybe you got into the Word of God, planted a seed, and prayed for a miracle. Then, nothing happened.

The problem is that many people stop believing at that moment. God’s Word says in Mark 11:24, “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” This is where most Christians stumble. The Bible says to believe when you pray that you have received.

Most of us are familiar with Matthew 7:7, which says, “Ask, and it shall be given you.” However, when we don’t see an immediate manifestation to prayer, we say, “Well, not everyone receives.” That’s not scriptural because the next verse says, “For every one that asketh receiveth.” Most of us don’t really believe this scripture. We lose our excitement in the Word and don’t expect it to work like that.

We had a friend with leukemia, and she believed that she would be healed. We prayed that she would be healed. On her death bed, she still believed she would be healed at any time. She died and we prayed for her to be raised from the dead for a long time. Her father said that it couldn’t be God’s will for everyone to be healed, or she would have been healed. We didn’t understand and it was hard for me. It was several years before I figured out how we allowed the devil to beat us on that one.

We have a responsibility to bring about God’s will. Some people believe that God’s will comes to pass no matter what we do, but that’s not true. God is bound by His own laws. Second Peter 3:9 says that it’s not God’s will that anyone should perish. For that to happen, there has to be someone to preach the Gospel. God’s will does not automatically comes to pass. Psalm 89:34 says, “My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.” God has bound Himself by His own Word. God gave us authority over the devil, and we must exercise what God has given us.

Most people interpret God’s Word by their own experience, “God’s Word says one thing, but here is what happened.” If someone doesn’t get healed, we make our own theology and say, “Well, not everyone gets healed.” God doesn’t say no to something He already said yes to. You need to learn to interpret your circumstances by God’s Word — not God’s Word by your circumstances.

Most of us have seen a promise in God’s Word and believed to the best of our ability, but it didn’t come to pass. How do we harmonize the fact that God is true to His Word and it didn’t happen?

There is a physical world, and there is a spiritual world. The spiritual world created this physical world. There is a spiritual reality for everything physical. In 2 Kings 6, you can read the story of Elisha. When the Syrian army had surrounded Elisha and his army, a servant asked Elisha, “What shall we do?” Elisha answered, “Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.” Verse 17 tells us, “And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.” There weren’t more physically but more spiritually. The angels of God surrounded them. Elisha spoke the truth.

Some people say it’s a lie to speak that you’re healed when you don’t feel healed, but that’s operating only by your five senses. You have to walk in the spirit. There are spiritual realities. John 6:63 says, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” The Bible is spiritual truth. We are limited when we only think in the physical realm. Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean God didn’t do it. God always answers when you pray according to His will. When God answers your prayer, He gives it to you in spiritual form. If you ask for finances, God releases the spiritual power to produce those finances. If you pray for healing, He gives it to you in spiritual form. God’s operation ends in the spiritual realm, independent of you.

Faith is the key that brings the answer into the physical realm. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Heb. 11:1). Your faith brings what God has accomplished into physical reality. God gives it to you in the spirit, then faith brings it into the physical realm. Many times you don’t know God has answered your prayer because you can’t perceive it in the physical. You have to believe something is happening beyond your five senses. If you don’t believe it until you see it, you won’t receive from God. The Bible says you have to believe you receive when you pray.

What happens between the time you say amen and see the answer manifested? We learn something about this when we read about the prayers of Daniel. In Daniel 9:20, Daniel is praying, and the angel Gabriel appears and tells him (in verse 23), “At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee.” In only three minutes, God answered his prayer. Gabriel said at the beginning of his prayer God answered, but it took three minutes for it to become visible. Sometimes it takes a little time to manifest in the physical. Often, we step out of faith and stop the manifestation from coming.

In Daniel 10, Daniel is praying again. This time it says, in verse 3, he fasted and prayed for three weeks. In verse 10, God sends a messenger and answers. Why did it take three minutes the first time and three weeks the second time? Some people say that God is making them wait to teach them something. That is not scriptural. The Bible says that the Scripture is given to teach us. We can learn through trials, but God doesn’t send them to teach us.

In verse 12, the angel told Daniel that God heard his prayer the first day and sent the answer. What held up the answer? The prince of the kingdom of Persia did battle with the angel for 21 days. There was spiritual warfare going on for three weeks. Satan fought to keep the answer from Daniel. In the Old Testament, people didn’t have authority over the devil. That authority came with Jesus. If God had shown Daniel what was going on, he couldn’t have done anything. In the New Testament, the blinders are removed because we have authority over Satan. We don’t have to wait for the devil to run his course. When Jesus withstood temptation, the devil left because he had done everything he could do (Matt. 4; Luke 4). Satan doesn’t have a limitless bag of tricks.

If you pray and don’t see manifestation immediately, God is waiting on you to stand against the devil and bring it into being.

How can Satan hinder your prayer? He can use another person to hinder your prayer. Sometimes, other people are involved in your answer. If you are praying for finances, intercede for the people who will be used in your prosperity. If you are trying to sell a house, pray for the person who will buy your house. If you want a promotion at work, pray for the boss who will be used to give you your promotion.

Some of you may think you don’t have enough faith to believe for a miracle. The truth is that you can’t get any more faith than you already have. Romans 12:3 says that God has dealt to every man the measure of faith. God gave us all the same measure of faith.

In Galatians 2:20, Paul said, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Paul said that he uses the faith of Jesus. You have the same amount of faith that Jesus has. That should be enough.

A MIRACLE

CK
God Has Your Miracle on His Mind

What do you need from God today?

Stop and think about that for a moment. It’s a serious question. Picture yourself the way you want to be, healthy and whole in every area of your life. That is the will of God for you, you know. I Thessalonians 5:23 says, He desires you to be “preserved sound and complete [and found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)” (The Amplified Bible).

God wants you to be sound and complete. It’s His perfect will for you to be whole, undamaged and intact—spirit, soul, and body—before Jesus returns. In light of that fact, let me ask you again: What changes would you need God to make for His will to be fulfilled in your life? What would it take for you to be whole?

It would take a miracle.

That may well be what you’re thinking right now. If so, I am here to tell you God has one for you. He has as many miracles as you need. He is the God of the miraculous.

What’s more, He is thinking about you today. That’s amazing, isn’t it? The fact that the Almighty God, the creator of heaven and earth has you and me on His mind is almost more than we can comprehend. Yet we know it’s true because the Psalmist says, “How precious it is, Lord, to realize that you are thinking about me constantly! I can’t even count how many times a day your thoughts turn towards me. And when I waken in the morning, you are still thinking of me!” (Psalms 139:17-18, The Living Bible).

Just imagine that! When you woke up this morning, God was thinking about you. He was aware of your needs. He was mindful of the blessings He has laid up for you and He was making plans to get them to you.

In other words, when you awoke this morning God had your miracle on His mind.

Every Part Precious

I preach about healing a lot and healing is wonderful. But sometimes you need more than healing, you need a miracle. A miracle is different. A miracle is something that is absolutely impossible apart from the supernatural working of God. It’s something that cannot happen by natural means.

If you have a disease, you need healing. But if you have a part missing—if you were born without fingers or toes, for example, you need a miracle. For years, it’s been prophesied that we will see those kinds of miracles again in the Body of Christ. It’s been prophesied that we’ll see all the miracles the early church saw and even greater miracles than those. I sense in my heart we’re there!

I truly believe it. They might say, “Surely, you don’t expect to see somebody grow a part on their body where there was no part before!”

Yes, I do. God has parts for people! The Bible says He made all of our parts before we were born and we can easily believe that. Why is it so unthinkable that He could add another part at a later time if it’s needed?

Just before the verses we read that tell of God’s thoughts about us, Psalms 139 says:

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect [or unformed]; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them” (verses 14-16).

According to those verses, God wrote down all your members (every part of you) in His book. And because God does all things well, He didn’t write them down as broken or missing. He wrote them down as whole and intact.

My friend Billye Brim has revelation of that so she speaks to her body according to those scriptures. She says, “My parts are written in God’s book. So, parts I command you to be the way God designed you to be. I command you to be whole and complete in agreement with God’s book. All my parts are intact with nothing missing, nothing broken. All the parts of my body function and work as they’re designed. I receive what the Book says about me!”

You may not have thought God cared about your parts but He does. Your parts are as important to Him as they are to you. He made them for you and He wants you to have them the way He made them. We need to get that revelation because God is ready to restore some parts. He wants to work miracles!

Expect the Impossible

I am fully expecting to see those miracles in the days and months to come. In times past, we’ve had people who were very small in stature because of disease or abnormality come to Healing School and ask us to pray for them that they might grow. Naturally, their DNA had patterned their body to be very small. But that’s not their heavenly DNA. That’s not how God designed them to be. That’s just something that happened as a result of the devil’s work in this world. Through thousands of years of getting people to sin, he’s been able to mess up God’s perfect plan for people-not only spiritually but physically.

Well, what do you think God did when He saw that the devil’s work had perverted His divine plan and made that person abnormally small? Do you think He said, “Oh, my. I guess the devil won this time. I’d better go back to My book, scratch out My perfect physical plan for this person and write in ‘midget-size,’ instead.”

Certainly not. God never changes. He just kept the original entry in His book which says that person’s DNA is perfect. Now He’s waiting for somebody to agree with Him and believe for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

If faith in the Word of God is spoken and released without wavering, I believe we can see that small person G-R-O-W up and become normal right before our eyes.

You might think that would be impossible and, naturally speaking you’d be right. “With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). “All things are possible to him that believeth” (Mark 9:23) so we need to start believing.

We need to start expecting the impossible!

It’s Never Too Late

Of course, people with physical abnormalities or missing parts aren’t the only ones who need miracles. Miracles are also needed when natural circumstances have gone on so long that it looks like it’s too late for a turn around. Abraham and Sarah needed that kind of miracle, for example. They needed a child for their lives to be whole and intact. Yet they were well past childbearing age when God told them He was going to give them one. They were about 100 years old.

No doubt, their natural thought was, Even if God did heal our barrenness, it’s too late for us now. We’re too old. That kind of thing can’t happen this late in the game.

But God did it for them, didn’t He? He proved that it’s never too late for a miracle.

A friend of ours experienced a “never too late” kind of miracle in his family. His name was Justus Du Plessis and although he went home to be with the Lord a couple of years ago, he experienced some amazing things during his lifetime as a Pentecostal minister in South Africa. On one occasion his father was desperately ill. In fact his father’s death was so imminent that the doctor who came to see him went ahead and filled out his death certificate.

After the doctor left, the church members gathered around to pray and while they were praying, he was healed. Do you know what he did? He got up, took a shower, milked the cows and then walked to the doctor’s house to return his death certificate.

Talk about a miracle coming late in the game! You know it’s late when you have to take back your own death certificate!

Clearly with God, it’s never too late for a miracle.

The Definitive Factor

Okay now, you may be thinking, if God wants to give me a miracle and I want to receive one-what’s the problem? Why hasn’t a miracle already taken place in my life?

For a miracle to get from heaven to earth, a divine connection has to be made. Miracles aren’t magic. They don’t just happen—poof!—because God decides to wave His miracle wand one day. No, miracles primarily occur when people put themselves in position to receive them.

To find out how to position yourself for a miracle, you can study the miracles in the New Testament. As you do you’ll see patterns emerge. You will find certain elements were most always involved when miracles happen.

The first of those elements is faith. Whenever a miracle takes place someone on earth is believing. It might be the person who needs the miracle. It might be the person who is ministering. It might be someone praying for the one who is in need. The situations may vary, but the fact remains that it is faith in God which connects the power of heaven with the need on earth. For a miracle to happen someone has to believe that God is willing and able to do it—and do it now.

Galatians 3:5 confirms that. There the Apostle Paul, rebuking the Galatians for their legalism, asks this question: “Does He Who supplies you with His marvelous [Holy] Spirit and works powerfully and miraculously among you do so on [the grounds of your doing] what the Law demands, or because of your believing…?” (The Amplified Bible).

The answer is obvious. God works miracles because we believe! We could look at one miracle after another and see that truth in action.

In Mark 5, when the woman with the incurable issue of blood receives her healing, Jesus says, “Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole” (verse 34).

In Mark 10, when blind Bartimaeus receives his sight, Jesus says, “thy faith hath made thee whole” (verse 52).

In Luke 17, when the leper is not only healed but his body parts are restored and made whole from the disease that had eaten them away, Jesus says, “thy faith hath made thee whole” (verse 19).

In Acts 3, when Peter and John heal the man who was crippled from birth, they give glory to the name of Jesus. And Peter says, “His name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness” (verse 16).

It’s interesting to notice that the power of God isn’t mentioned in most of those instances, just the faith of the people. I think that’s because God’s power and His willingness to heal and work miracles never changes. The variable is people’s faith. Faith is the definitive factor.

Just Do It

As important as faith is, however, that alone won’t get the whole job done. You can’t just sit around believing on the inside and doing nothing on the outside. For faith to come alive you have to take action. As James 2:26 says, “faith without works is dead.”

You can see the connection between “doing” and receiving in the very first miracle Jesus ever performed. I especially like to think about this miracle because it was clearly not a miracle Jesus planned to do. It was one that was drawn out of Him by the person who most wanted that miracle—His own mother Mary. John 2 tells us that she and Jesus were attending a wedding in Cana of Galilee and the host ran out of wine. Mary looked to Jesus to do something about it. He told her His time to do such things had not yet come but her faith was unshaken. She continued to expect a miracle and she turned to the servants and said:

Whatever He says to you, do it. Now there were six waterpots of stone standing there, as the Jewish custom of purification (ceremonial washing) demanded, holding twenty to thirty gallons apiece. Jesus said to them, Fill the waterpots with water. So they filled them up to the brim. Then He said to them, Draw some out now and take it to the manager of the feast [to the one presiding, the superintendent of the banquet] (verses 5-8, The Amplified Bible).

What happened when the servants did what Jesus said?

They saw a miracle. The water was turned into wine!

It would serve us well to always remember what Mary told the servants that day. She said, “Whatever He tells you to do, do it.” That’s one of the major keys to receiving a miracle.

Whatever the Lord says to you—do it.

If the Lord tells you to get up and run, get up and run. If He tells you to dance and shout, then dance and shout. One time a man attended Healing School and during the meeting the Lord told him to run. He didn’t want to run in the meeting so he ran out the door, ran outside and ran around the block. If you think that’s silly, think again because he came back in healed!

Whatever the Lord tells you to do, do it!

If he tells you to repent of something, you repent. If he tells you to forgive someone, forgive them. He knows what you can do that will bring you into position to receive. So listen for His instructions, then obey!

Kick Doubt Out

Once you’ve believed and acted on your faith, refuse to doubt or fear. When the devil comes to you and says, You’re not going to get that miracle. You don’t deserve it. Remember how many times you’ve failed God. Refuse to entertain those doubt-producing thoughts. Instead, just answer him and say, “Bless the Lord, I don’t get what I deserve. I get what Jesus bought for me. I get the mercy of God. I get a miracle!”

Every time I think about refusing doubt and fear, I think about the story of Jairus. Initially, when he came to Jesus his daughter needed a healing. She was very sick and Jairus believed if Jesus came and laid His hands on her she would be healed. But before that healing could take place, Jairus’ daughter died. Suddenly the girl didn’t just need a healing, she needed a miracle.

Do you know that Jesus wasn’t disturbed by that? He knew that God could work a miracle just as easily as He could perform a healing. So he said to Jairus, “Do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear; only keep on believing” (Mark 5:36, The Amplified Bible). We know that this worked because the little girl was raised up whole.

That’s a good word for all of us who are positioning ourselves for a miracle. No matter what the devil says, no matter what circumstances may say, no matter what our natural senses might try to tell us, if we’ll refuse to doubt, refuse to fear and keep on believing God, our miracle will surely come!

A MIRACLE

BA
WHAT IS A MIRACLE?

Luke 23:8 “And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him.”

Herod desired to see Jesus perform some kind of miracle, and some of the questions he asked Jesus made this desire obvious. However, Jesus did not use His faith to do any miracles for Herod.

Miracles are God’s way of meeting the needs of those who seek Him in faith. Miracles will sometimes be used to demonstrate God’s ability so that people may believe (Mk. 2:10-11), but they will not happen to skeptics who are tempting God (Lk. 4:9-12).

A miracle is a supernatural intervention of God’s power over natural law.

Healings occur within the boundaries of natural law while miracles are not limited to natural law. A person with a high fever who receives prayer and then begins to recover is experiencing a healing. The Lord intervened but in natural ways. The virus, infection, or whatever was rebuked left the body (Lk. 4:39) and then the natural healing process that the Lord built into all of us took over. When something totally supernatural happens, that’s a miracle. When Jesus reattached the servant’s ear and it was instantly whole after Peter cut it off (Lk. 22:51), demonstrated a miracle. It was also a healing, but it was a miraculous healing.

Feeding the five thousand (Mt. 14:19-20), walking on the water (Mt. 14:25), translating a ship and all aboard to the other side of the sea (Jn. 6:21) – all these are miracles. Miracles are usually instantaneous whereas healings are sometimes gradual.

The Lord has never had anyone who was qualified working for Him. It’s by God’s grace that He uses any of us. Anyone who claims to be used of God because of his great holiness is either deceived or a deceiver. It’s our faith in the grace of God that allows miracles to flow through us.

What Is In Your Spirit?

Then the angel who talked with me answered and said to me, “Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my lord.” So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts. ‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!” ‘ ” Zechariah 4:5-6

Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ’s gospel, and a door was opened to me by the Lord, I had no rest in my spirit, because I did not find Titus my brother; but taking my leave of them, I departed for Macedonia. Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. 2 Corinthians 2:12-14

Most people know the expression “Garbage in, garbage out” or “You are what you eat.” As a matter of fact many of us are destroying our bodies by consuming food that is not good for us and then we have to run around looking to be healed and delivered by doctors or God! Well we not only live in a body that is made of flesh but we also have a spirit and a soul. And what we allow to come into our spirit and soul affects us greatly. That is why the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life which is not of the Father but is of the world are very dangerous and harmful because they pervert and corrupt us and ultimately destroy us. We need to be filled with the fullness of God and be under the constant control of the Holy Spirit and by the Spirit put to death the deeds of the body so that we might live. God’s word is unchanging:

Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them. But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all. Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Colossians 3:5:16

For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:17-25

Yes, we suffer in our body in the current time of life because of the works of the flesh including adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries,. We open the doors to demonic spirits that cause us sickness and pain. And if we accept them directly or indirectly including spirits of infirmities, we will have trouble sickness and diseases in our bodies.

But we don’t have to accept any of these things because of what Jesus did on Calvary and by His stripes we are healed. So we can rebuke all sickness, diseases and oppressive spirits from our bodies and tell them to go to hell where they belong in Jesus name. Through the avenue of bitterness, unforgiveness, we open the door for demons to enter into our bodies and lives and suffer as a result. God’s word is unchanging:

“For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’ “But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire. “Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, “leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. “Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison. “Assuredly, I say to you, you will by no means get out of there till you have paid the last penny. Matthew 5:20-26

When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.” Matthew 8:16-17

But some Christians refuse to accept that afflictions and sickness are oppressions of the devil and they can be healed off them. Yes, there are those Christians who say that only Jesus Christ is important and nothing else and they are suffering for Jesus sake, His suffering. Even though by Jesus stripes they were healed and He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. They literally don’t fellowship with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. They don’t know and experience the love of the Father or the comfort of the Holy Spirit. Their faith is composed on solely knowledge of the written Word of God. They forgot that the new birth is not known solely by knowledge but solely by experience. Yes, through the avenue of faith, they believed on Jesus, called on His name and were saved and He gave them an experience call the new birth or being born again. They didn’t go on to being baptized by Jesus Christ, the Baptizer in the Holy Spirit with fire and tongues of fire, because it’s an emotional experience which doesn’t make sense to their carnal mind. But being born again is an emotional in body experience and so is the Baptism of the Spirit and operating in the gifts of the Spirit and is not based solely on intellect!

Then there are others who have experienced the Baptism of the Spirit and only relate to the Holy Spirit solely on the basis of power, gifts, shaking, electricity, someone falling down under the power. While others relate to the Holy Spirit in the context of the work He does for us, or the times He gives us a word of wisdom, knowledge or prophecy, we grieve Him. But the Holy Spirit is a person who wants to be loved, accepted and fellowship with us as a unique person just like each one of us wants to do as a unique person and not just some creature or entity. And God is interested in us not only having the gifts of the Spirit but demonstrating the fruit of the Spirit. God’s word is unchanging:

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3

Understanding the Person of the Holy Spirit, having an encounter with Him, worshipping, respecting, embracing the Holy Spirit and loving Him in His function are the keys that will bring His power and anointing on our lives. We need to have on going visitations and relationships with the Holy Spirit. God’s word is unchanging:

Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied. Acts 9:31

Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. 1 Corinthians 10:20

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:30-32

Yes, when we are full of God, the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, it will come out of us including love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control and not uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy. As God’s word is unchanging:

“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:45

He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ ” And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:11-17

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. 2 Corinthians 13:14

If we have an intimate bond and relationship with the Holy Spirit we will be able to know and do many things that are humanly impossible because it’s what God does through us that matters and not we do in the flesh. We will be surrounded by God’s presence and glory and people will know and experience not only that something is different about us but God Himself. That is why the bible records about healing and Peter’s shadow:

And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed. Acts 5:14-16

Yes, we must honor and give proper place in our lives to our Wonderful Counselor, the Spirit of Truth and be totally dependent upon Him for everything including guiding us into all truth and delivering us from lies of men and demon! We must consciously acknowledge His presence in everything that we would do and ask Him to possess us and direct us so that we will walk Him in all things. Then we will know the blessing of partnership with the Holy Spirit as we bring the saving, healing, and delivering power of Jesus to the world. We need to present ourselves, all of us to the Holy Spirit and line ourselves up with Him. We have to keep asking Him to help us; we can’t accomplish the purposes of God on our own, apart from His guidance. God’s word is unchanging:

“If you love Me, keep My commandments. “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever- “the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. John 14:15-17

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. “And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: “of sin, because they do not believe in Me; “of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; “of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. “He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. “All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you. John 16:7-15

A MIRACLE

AD
It Will Take A Miracle!

Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!” And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God! “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, “Who then can be saved?” But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.” Mark 10:23-27

Jesus said it was hard for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God but He never said it was impossible. As a matter of fact He said concerning salvation “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.” Yes it takes a God given miracle to be saved, to be filled with the Spirit, to be healed and live in divine health and divine prosperity. Jesus never taught that it was bad to be rich? When Jesus healed sick people they became rich because now they could support themselves? Yet God’s word is true:

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 1Timothy 6:10

For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day. 2 Timothy 1:12

It’s a very weak Salvation when we cannot trust God to keep what we have committed to Him until that day including Salvation and have to worry that money will corrupt us and we will lose our salvation! But having a lot of money is not evil as a matter of fact it’s a blessing. You can do a lot of things with money. I have been poor and I have been rich and it’s better being rich. It is also a fact of scriptures from the lives of Abraham and Job and David that if God has a person heart He loves to bless him or her with riches:

“Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness, You who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were hewn, And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug. Look to Abraham your father, And to Sarah who bore you; For I called him alone, And blessed him and increased him.” For the LORD will comfort Zion, He will comfort all her waste places; He will make her wilderness like Eden, And her desert like the garden of the LORD; Joy and gladness will be found in it, Thanksgiving and the voice of melody. Isaiah 51:1-3

Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord-that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful. James 5:11

The end of Job was better than his beginning. And this is what God wants for all His children. But there are those who believe that poverty and suffering are the will of God for His children and they love to spiritualize all the promises as only spiritual blessings and not earthly or material blessings. Some point out that when Jesus promised in Mark 10:29-30 “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, “who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time-houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions-and in the age to come, eternal life’ it related to spiritual houses and brothers and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands. Jesus is our real treasure and great material possessions will replace him. Also Jesus taught we are not to store up treasures on earth but are to suffer with other Christians who are at this very moment rotting in prisons around the world, who are being tortured, who are being held captive and put in chains, who are having family members murdered all because they are Christians.

So is poverty or prosperity the will of God for His people? Who is right and who is wrong? Well everything we accept from come comes by faith and God’s word tells us:

“Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. Habbakuk 2:4

Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” Matthew 9:29

for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Romans 14:17

Whatever the Holy Spirit has taught and given us and we accepted by faith is God’s will for us? If we believe it is suffering and poverty? Then so bit it. If we believe it is blessings and prosperity? Then so bit it. What matters is not whether we are poor or rich but whether Jesus Christ is glorified in and through it! Mind you it’s easier sometimes to die for Christ than to live for Him? And it’s very easy to give up the word of God when the devil brings persecution upon us because of the word? Some people can believe God for something and other people can believe God for nothing! I had a friend who didn’t believe that God could give him a job so he made one thousand applications until he found one. And I have another friend who just sent out his angel to find him a job and it came to him. Yet God’s word is unchanging:

By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days. By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace. And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again. And others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection. Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented- of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth. Hebrews 11:30-38
