If Anyone Hears My Voice?

Then Samuel said:  “Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,  As in obeying the voice of the LORD?  Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,  And to heed than the fat of rams.  For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,  And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.  Because you have rejected the word of the LORD,  He also has rejected you from being king.” 1 Samuel 15:22-23

The only real thing that matters in life is to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit in clarity speaking to each person. Failure to hear and heed is voice brings all kinds of troubles. For God’s word is unchanging:

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:  “Today, if you will hear His voice,  Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,  In the day of trial in the wilderness,  Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me,  And saw My works forty years. Therefore I was angry with that generation,  And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart,  And they have not known My ways.’  So I swore in My wrath,  ‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ”  Hebrews 3:7-11

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.  Revelations 3:20

The music God  provides to His people is different from the music the earth knows. It is sweet and full of His presence in their very souls. He wants them to cry out to God in their very souls and learn where they have gone wrong. The hardest thing it seems is for God’s  people to face is  their wrong doings. They can’t face them and would rather go on assured of their position without having His  assurance and blessings upon them.

They have set in motion the thing that supports them in the form of a church and congregation members and go on without the Lord. They have ignored the words of God’s true  prophets I have sent to them. They have ignored the Lord  and refuse to speak the truth in love. They refuse to hear His Voice within them. There is hope for some of them but very few actually want change their ways and serve the Lord and obey His voice only.  Just like the children of Israel they prefer to take orders from a pastor rather than the Holy Spirit.

As a result the waywardness of man places him in very precarious positions that leaves him far from the purposes God has called him to. He is destroyed by his own ways. He has forgotten to listen to God’s  voice and heed His  words and then cries when he receives no answer to his prayers.

His ways lead to death and destruction. He harbors only fair opinions of himself and God  yet he does not do what takes courage to do. The Lord has told him in His Word to be of good courage and do His judgments and follow His statutes. But no, he has to ignore the truth and follow after the vain philosophies of men. Rather doing what men  think best than what God thinks is best.

It seems that  few Christians understand,  that it is only by listening to God’s still small voice, daily and hourly, that real spiritual success and victories come. They must consult the Lord on everything, no matter how minute or small and He will guide them down the right path to true life and true success

The natural outpouring of their love and relationship with God  should be that in all they have to do in life. It should be done in agreement with God  and what He has taught them. His leading is available to them just as their very breath is for breathing life each day.  The Lord is like their breath. He is life to them and they cannot breath without Him. They cannot live without Him. They have no peace and profit without Him.  For He is their success and exceeding great reward.

If God’s people would recognize this, they would see the value in their fellow men more. They would not allow pride to enter into their relationship with God or man and hold them on a level of understanding that keeps them from advancing in the spiritual realm. For God has much He wants to teach His true Children, yet often He can’t even get through to them because they are so busy with their agendas, programs and lifestyle. Then they will complain in Heaven of their lack of rewards and possible expulsion. But He  could have told them they failed to listen to Him  and His Voice and put aside their pride and plans.

If their  ‘works’ are more important to them  than a relationship with the Lord  they  have failed to ‘see’ the truth. He does not desire sacrifice. He desires their attention. He desires their  affection and  dedication to God’s Voice and His Words.

All of the floral arrangements and beautiful homes or long business hours or hours spent in sports or teaching sports will not benefit them in Heaven if God has called them to His  side and they did not come.

The Lord is he only thing in life more important than anything else. If only  people  would recognize that they would stop all their good works and beautification programs, they would love each other purely and simply. They  would walk by God’s Spirit and not by their worldly opinions.  What they think is valuable is usually not of any worth to Him if He was not the originator of it.

As physical exercise profits little in the spiritual realm so do many other activities people find to accomplish in life. Only service done in obedience to God’s Voice will be of any value in the Kingdom of God. How can man be so foolish? How can he be so callused to what God’s is  really saying to him? How can they ignore the only One who matters more than life to them? Yet, over and over they seem to do just that.

All they do may be good. It may be pure. It may be profitable. But, if the Lord has not called them to do it, it is useless stubble and hay. The Lord has told them not to forget the assembling themselves together.’ Yet, they make it such a ritual and burden that it is of no more value to God or to them.

He told them to rest on Sunday and find one day of rest and yet they pack in all kinds of programs and activities and find no time to rest and be quiet before God. But He  has ordained rest so that they can spend time with Him  not all their plans and projects. For  He is more important than anyone or anything else in their life yet they can’t even see the significance of this truth. Without God’s approval their efforts are all null and void.

Let all men be liars and God be true. What I have ordained in human lives will last forever. Those who hear God’s Voice and Do what He commands them are His greatest servants. It is not the singer or the preacher or the pastor or the teacher. It is those who do the difficult, the undesirable, the hard, the cold thankless jobs of life that are going to receive the greater part in Heaven.

God brought John the Baptist from his mother’s womb full of the Holy Ghost and fire and set him among men in rough cloths and eating locusts and honey. He did not  provide him with the best mansion or the best delicacies for this table. And when it came to die John  died in a dungeon and suffered the indignity of having his head cut off.

Yet, you would never have heard John complain. He knew in his heart what God had called him to and he loved it the bitter end. He knew who He was in Lord. He was a great prophet and servant of the living God and what he did, he did gracefully.

But for the so called Christians of today their teachings are half-baked. Their sacrifice non-existent. Their joy artificial. Their desires self-centered. Their giving meager. Their demands are many.  Many have become greedy wolves full of themselves and their own projects and plans having little if anything to do with God’s or what He desires. They have closed their ears to God and He has done likewise.  They ignored His voice speaking to them telling them:

“For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. Matthew 7:2

I WILL

I WILLThe Mighty Deliverer And Redeemer

Moreover He said, “I am the God of your father-the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.  And the LORD said: “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.

“So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites.

“Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. “Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” Exodus 3:6-10

Those who do not believe that God can redeem and deliver  His people from any kind of circumstance and situation do not know God’s word or His mighty catastrophic power. They just have to look at Egypt today and what it once was before God send His plagues and judgments on it  to deliver His people. The bible records:

How often they provoked Him in the wilderness,  And grieved Him in the desert!   Yes, again and again they tempted God,  And limited the Holy One of Israel. They did not remember His power:  The day when He redeemed them from the enemy,  When He worked His signs in Egypt,  And His wonders in the field of Zoan;  Turned their rivers into blood, And their streams, that they could not drink.

He sent swarms of flies among them, which devoured them,  And frogs, which destroyed them. He also gave their crops to the caterpillar,  And their labor to the locust. He destroyed their vines with hail,  And their sycamore trees with frost.  He also gave up their cattle to the hail, And their flocks to fiery lightning.

He cast on them the fierceness of His anger,  Wrath, indignation, and trouble,  By sending angels of destruction among them. He made a path for His anger;  He did not spare their soul from death,  But gave their life over to the plague,  And destroyed all the firstborn in Egypt,  The first of their strength in the tents of Ham.

But He made His own people go forth like sheep,  And guided them in the wilderness like a flock;  And He led them on safely, so that they did not fear;  But the sea overwhelmed their enemies.  And He brought them to His holy border,  This mountain which His right hand had acquired.

He also drove out the nations before them,  Allotted them an inheritance by survey,  And made the tribes of Israel dwell in their tents. Psalm 78:40-55

God is not someone you can tempt,  provoke or ignore with out paying a severe price, even in the current time of life.  When Pharaoh and Egypt resisted the Lord, He turned their rivers into blood,  and their streams, that they could not drink.

He made a path for His anger. He did not spare their soul from death, but gave their life over to the plague, and destroyed all the firstborn in Egypt.  But He made His own people go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.  He led them on safely, so that they did not fear, but the sea overwhelmed their enemies. All of  Pharaoh’s chariots and army were drowned in the sea and not one of them was left alive.

But the Lord, the might Deliverer and Redeemer brought His own  to His holy border to the mountain which His right acquired. He would have taken them into the promised land had not they listened to the bad reports given by the cowardly and fearful spies and had they not taken up stones to kill Joshua and Caleb.

So God, who kept His word till that time and delivered His people,  made  a whole generation of His people to die in the wilderness with out going into the promised land.  The bible records:

“And now, I pray, let the power of my LORD be great, just as You have spoken, saying,  ‘The LORD is longsuffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no means clears the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation.’  “Pardon the iniquity of this people, I pray, according to the greatness of Your mercy, just as You have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.”

Then the LORD said: “I have pardoned, according to your word;  “but truly, as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD-  “because all these men who have seen My glory and the signs which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have put Me to the test now these ten times, and have not heeded My voice, “they certainly shall not see the land of which I swore to their fathers, nor shall any of those who rejected Me see it.

“But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.  “Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwell in the valley; tomorrow turn and move out into the wilderness by the Way of the Red Sea.” Numbers 14:17-25

The children of Israel were at the border of the promised land but never went in to posses and enjoy it. But God’s servants Joshua and  Caleb, because they had a different spirit in them  and had followed the Lord fully, He brought them into the land where they went, and their descendants  inherited it.

But God does deliver His true ones even in the current time of life.  He delivers them the deceptions of men. He delivers them from the enemies that press in all around them. He delivers them from sickness and disease. He delivers them from corruption and judgment. He delivers them from correction and abuse. He delivers them from perversion and death. He delivers them from self-righteousness and pride. He gives them real deliverance and redemption for He is their God.

Unfortunately man does not change and history continues to repeat itself. In spite of all what God continue to do for them, even miraculously, God’s people do stupid things such as believing false teachers or hurting and touching God’s anointed servants.  Then they wonder why they have to live out their lives in the deserts of the wilderness instead of the blessings of the promised land. But God’s word is unchanging:

These are wells without water, clouds carried by a tempest, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever. For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage.

For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning.

For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.” 2 Peter 2:17-22

Yes for some who had escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, and the latter end is worse for them than the beginning.

For the mighty Whirlwind stirs up  even today trouble for all who have disobeyed God’s Voice! The pastors, administrators, coordinators, editors, publishers and others who refused to hear and obey the clarion call to justice, righteousness and true! O, they thought they knew better. They thought they were so right and sure of their way. They thought they were superior in their knowledge and their understanding. They were so sure they were right. But they weren’t. They were wrong. They were deceived. So they pay the price for their deceivement,

It is to sad, man is so deceived that he thinks he can carry on without paying for what he has done. His flesh has duped him. His flesh has deceived him but yet, he deceived himself when he accepted what his flesh presented to him. He desired what he was never promised. He desired only what the world promised. So now he must pay the price in his flesh and in his spirit. He forgot the saying: ‘to be your brother’s keeper.’ He forgot to love God just as much as he loved himself. He forgot and now he must pay.

For the Heavens are full of the Majesty of the Lord. The earth is His footstool and the Firmament between is His handy work. The Presence of the Lord is in all places at all times. There is nothing that happens that is missed by Him for He sees and knows all things, even the evil cruel things men do are before His eyes.

He is above all that men do and He allows it for his purposes and the achievement of His desires. He has been man free choice and that choice is to choose for or against Him. The consequences of those choices must be paid. The bill comes due and must be repaid. The jury’s verdict must come in and justice served. That is the way God has established the spiritual laws on the earth.

The enigma is that men think so nobly in one breath and proceed to take a person’s life in the next. He is both noble and cruel, both kind and vicious, both caring and brutal, both full of integrity and totally dishonest. He can never be only the best part of himself unless He relies totally on the Power and Presence of the Lord.

The Light of God must enter into the human world of darkness and shed total and dispelling light on the darkness in men’s minds and hearts. Only God’s Light can change the human heart. Only the presence of the anointing oil of the Holy Spirit can change human hearts. Hearts of stone and flesh can become hearts of Spirit and Light if they are hearts yielded and humble before their Creator. Nothing else can dispel the darkness and bring healing and change.

ALL OUR DAYS

all our daysArise O Lord Let Your Enemies Be Scattered

“For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy,  Now I will arise,” says the LORD;  “I will set him in the safety for which he yearns.” Psalm 12:5

I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God;  Incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech.  Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand,  O You who save those who trust in You  From those who rise up against them.  Keep me as the apple of Your eye;  Hide me under the shadow of Your wings, From the wicked who oppress me,  From my deadly enemies who surround me. Psalm 17:6-9

God always has and always will be the burden-bearer for His people, as well as their rock, shield, high tower, defense, defender, friend, Lord and everything they need.  For He has promised to be a God unto them and an enemy to their enemy and an adversary to their adversaries. He unlike others keeps His word. For after it is His word and He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end and the author and finisher of the Christian faith.

The Lord, Himself is the only Trustworthy in the Universe! He sets His true ones free because He loves them and only His grace can deliver them just as they are. His true children are prosperous and joyful because He has given them the Holy Spirit to lead and guide them  into all truth and deliver them from their selfish ways.

The Lord remains always to His true ones THE GREAT I AM! He has given them the Kingdom when He had given them His only Son and His wonderful counselor the Holy Spirit. All of the Kingdoms great resources and power and Persons are at their disposal because of the name, which is above every name. Above every principality, power, diseases, sickness, lack, shortage, mountain, lack, enemy, need and thing under the sun or in the darkness.

Though, little they are not small. Though, weak they  are not without resources. Though, helpless they are not without wisdom. Though, defenseless they are not without a defender. Their answer is always their Savior. He is their source of total supply. He is their friend and defender.  They are to look to Him and not to the world, their friends, their family or themselves. There is no other who can deliver them but He Himself. He has not deserted them and has only begun His fight for He is their Lord and Savior. His word is unchanging:

“When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the LORD your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt.

“So it shall be, when you are on the verge of battle, that the priest shall approach and speak to the people. “And he shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel: Today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies. Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them;  ‘for the LORD your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.’ Deuteronomy 20:1-4

“Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed before the king of Assyria, nor before all the multitude that is with him; for there are more with us than with him.  “With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people were strengthened by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah. 2 Chronicles 32:7-9

There is no determining factor like this one—that Jesus Christ laid down His life for them and has placed His army at their disposal.  His true ones may command them at will and they will do all of  their  bidding. Healing is theirs. Power is theirs. Miracles are theirs. Deliverance is theirs. Prosperity is theirs. Love of the Father is theirs. Wisdom is theirs. The Holy Spirit in Power and Glory is theirs. All is theirs because they have desired the very best, God Himself.

God is with them and He loves them. He will bless uplift and uphold them as well. He is their loving and marvelous Heavenly Father. He will not forsake them but will bless them to all eternity. They will become all they were called to become. They will see great victory and miracles.  They will manifest Him and all His Power and Presence. They will walk in His ways and follow His paths He gives them to follow. They will be a great force of change in His timing, choosing, and ways. He will see many people healed because of their love for them and Him

For God will never leave them, fail them or forsake them. As He was with Abraham, Moses, Joseph and Jesus so He will be with them. The wealth of the heathen is stored up just for them His beloved. They are to reach out and take by faith what is rightfully theirs. They are His beloved and success is their middle name.

The sky was the limit. They could jump as high as they desire and far as they desire. For God is with them all the way. They have His unlimited resources at their disposal. Nothing need ever move them again. For God will establish them and prosper them and they will be unmoved by what they see. Their strength will come totally from Him who is their Lord, King and Mighty One. For His word is true”

Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, But righteousness delivers from death. Proverbs 10:2

The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; The heart of the wicked is worth little.  The lips of the righteous feed many,  But fools die for lack of wisdom.  The blessing of the LORD makes one rich,  And He adds no sorrow with it. To do evil is like sport to a fool,  But a man of understanding has wisdom.

The fear of the wicked will come upon him, And the desire of the righteous will be granted.  When the whirlwind passes by, the wicked is no more,  But the righteous has an everlasting foundation. Proverbs 10:20-25

For winnowing fork and sheave have not done their full work but when they have done it all those who fought against God’s true ones shall be no more. For the Lord is the grime reaper. He winnows His winnowing floor and separates the chaff from the wheat. When it is all over, He will have completed His  task and been satisfied that a proper job has been done.

The wind of the Spirit is blowing a great and mighty gale. It is churning up the bulrushes and lily pads together. There is not one who will escape God’s wrath though they cry to Him with many tears. There are many who are already crying bitter tears but they forgot their first love and chose their own way, thinking it was the acceptable thing to do. But, it was never acceptable to God. They should have consulted Lord  first, before they went on their selfish quest. They forgot, it is the real truth that sets men free, not one of their own making.

You see, truth is not relative or subject to men’s opinions or ideas. It is steadfast, unchanging and faithful. It is eternal and never will cease. It is not the infallibility of some words but the Person who spoke them that makes it eternal. Men worship even words, unfortunately, forgetting who spoke them. They worship each other, subject matter, their intellect, their beauty, and so much more but they forgot one thing-the one who gave it all to them-they forgot Me-the LORD!

For the wayward man is a froward man, he desires to place himself in the best seats in the house, the foremost positions in the office or the most beautiful house on the block. He is sure he is right about most things and has advice to offer everyone without thought or regard for their position or importance both on earth or in heaven.

He is always looking out for number one and never considers the needs of others. He is sure of what he does not really understand and wisdom is not in his mouth. He elevates himself rather than waiting to be elevated by others. He runs to see what he could glean for himself rather than what others may need.

He is always whispering in someone’s ear because he is sure he is very important and his advice worthy of receiving. He never cares totally for others but always reserves something in everything he does for himself. He cares for self most of the time unless by caring for another he glorifies himself. Even in this he is out to glorify himself.

The road to Mars Hill is dusty and hot and dank. It reeks of blood, guts and dead carcasses. These are those who died attaining their personal goals for wealth and fame. They climb over each other’s form never considering how the others got there or how they died. They only know to climb like zombies over the putrefying bodies to their seeming goals.

Men  look down the road and up the road but when they think they have arrived there is nothing and no one for miles all around them. The place they find themselves in is barren and desolate. Even cactus and other desert creatures cannot survive where  they have placed themselves in.

Men forget the truth that he who truly desires to survive does not travel alone but in companionship with others and their lives are tied to them. They can’t live alone, unto themselves, and expect to survive. This place is reserved only for the purely selfish, brothers and sisters, who believe in no other than themselves. This is the other side of heaven.

Whatever the name, there is more to life than living in an empty house, with an empty life, surrounded by empty inanimate things. Yes, they might be priceless and of great value but to God they are as worthless as the life that has buried it’s talent in the sand and walked away. It is of no value at all; and, after all, if God places no worth in such a life it has no place in the Kingdom or price. Therefore, a priceless live, is not worthy to be purchased and will be left to drift through life and death, without purpose or direction.

PROSPERITY

BD SEND NOW PROSPERITY

Save now, I beseech thee, O Lord: O Lord, I beseech thee, send now prosperity. —Psalm 118:25

I believe in prosperity.

Yes, by that I do mean spiritual well-being and physical health. But I also  mean  material  or  financial  blessing.  When  the  Apostle  John declared, “Beloved,Iwishabove allthingsthatthou mayestprosperandbeinhealth, even asthysoulprospereth” (3 John 2), I believe his intent and meaning was to refer to three distinct areas of life—material, physical, and spiritual. His fervent desire was that we should thrive and flourish, or prosper, in every aspect of our being. This is the proper application of prosperity—balanced, sound, complete, and evenly emphasized.
Some people have argued that the phrase “that thou mayest prosper” does not refer to financial prosperity. They contend the phrase was nothing more than a common greeting, or idiom, of the day that simply meant, “May things go well for you.”
The Greek word translated “prosper” or “prospereth” in this text is “euodoo.” Euodoo is comprised of the words “hodos,” which means a road, and “eu,” which means good. Thus  the Greek word eudoo (translated “prosper”) literally means a good road or a good journey. So even if in this instance the word did not mean specifically to prosper financially, at the very least it meant to have a good and prosperous journey.
I have a hard time understanding how anyone could have a good and prosperous journey if he didn’t have adequate provisions for the trip—if he was broke, lacking, and in poverty and want every step of the way.
Besides, this word translated “prosper” is the same Greek word the Apostle Paul used in First Corinthians 16:2 when he directed the believers in Corinth to set aside some money each week as God hath prospered him. Certainly and without doubt, the word prosper can be and is used in Scripture in reference to financial prosperity.

Poverty Does Not Produce Piety
As I said in the Introduction, the Church seems to have a hard time staying in the middle of the road on just about any Bible subject. When it came to the topic of prosperity, the church people of my day were off in the ditch on one side of the road. They had been taught that poverty produced piety and that God didn’t want His people to have anything.
I always heard preachers say, “I don’t want any of this world’s goods,” because they thought there was something wrong with this world’s goods.

But Psalm chapter 50 proves why it’s not wrong to have this world’s goods.
For every beast of the forest IS MINE, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. . . . If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for THE WORLD IS MINE, and the fulness thereof [that means that everything that’s in the world is God’s].—Psalm 50:10,12

Mark those verses in your Bible. Meditate on those verses and confess them.
The Lord showed me these verses because He had to get my thinking straightened out. I thought it was wrong to have anything. I thought a person ought to go through life with the seat of his britches worn out, the top of his hat worn out, and the soles of his shoes worn out, living on Barely-Get-Along Street way down at the end of the block right next to Grumble Alley!
That’s the kind of thinking many people in the church world have today. But they’re not thinking in line with God’s Word.
Sadly, too many Christians (preachers included) remind me of young birds just hatched, sitting in the nest, eyes shut and mouth wide open, waiting for momma to come and feed them. They will swallow whatever is poked into their mouths. Many people in the Church have been religiously brainwashed instead of New Testament-taught. Without knowing what the Bible says, and having limited spiritual discernment, they are tossed by every wind of doctrine.
So in time, even erroneous teachings become traditions not easily changed. They are passed down from one generation to another, and the new generation accepts the error without question because that’s “what we’ve always believed.”

Learn To Think in Line With God’s Word
You see, a lot of times, our thinking is wrong. It’s not in line with the Bible. And if our thinking is wrong, then our believing is going to be wrong. And if our believing is wrong, then our talking is going to be wrong.
You’ve got to get all  three of  them—your  thinking, your believing, and your speaking—synchronized with the Word of God.
God has given us His Word to get our thinking straightened out. In my case, God knew my thinking was wrong because, as I said,  in  the  denomination  I’d  been  brought  up  in,  we  were taught that it was wrong to have anything. I began my ministry in  this  particular  denomination,  and  they  were  great  about praying for the pastor: “Lord, You keep him humble, and we’ll keep him poor.” And they thought they were doing God a favor!
Then in 1937, I was baptized in the Holy Ghost and spoke with other tongues. I got the “left foot of fellowship” from my denomination and came over among the Pentecostals. They were doubly that way about praying for the pastor. In other words, they doubled up on their praying: “Lord, You keep him humble, and we’ll keep him poor”!

What Does God’s Word Say?
The idea that God wants His children poor, having no material things, is totally unscriptural. The Bible has a great deal to say about money—about receiving it to meet personal needs and giving it to support the work of God and to bless others.
It is significant that many of God’s servants throughout the Bible were wealthy. I’m not talking about just being spiritually prosperous, either. I mean financially rich! The Bible says, “And

Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold” (Gen. 13:2). That verse doesn’t require much interpretation, does it?
First Kings chapter 10 tells of the queen of Sheba coming to visit King Solomon to see if he was as wise and great as she had heard. After testing him, asking many hard questions, she told him, “Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard” (1 Kings 10:7).
Job was also very wealthy. God’s Word says, “His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east” (Job 1:3). During the trials and suffering he endured, Job lost his great wealth. But God restored Job’s riches! How do I know? The Bible says, “So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses (Job 42:12).
In Second Chronicles 26:5, we read that as long as King Uzziah sought the Lord, God made him to prosper. It seems clear that God is not against prosperity; otherwise, He would have been violating His own principles when He prospered Uzziah and others.
It is important to realize that God is not against wealth and prosperity. But He is against people being covetous.

Qualifications for Walking in Prosperity
God wants to prosper His children. He is concerned about us and wants us to have good things in life. He said in His Word, “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land” (Isa. 1:19). But God doesn’t want us to put “eating the good of the land” first.
Moses was an example of someone who didn’t put material things first. For example, Moses, who was raised by an Egyptian, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter when he grew up.
By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward.—Hebrews 11:24-26

Think about what Moses refused! He was the son of Pharaoh’s daughter—and he was in line for the throne! Moses had prestige, honor, and wealth. He had all the things the world had to offer. Yet Moses esteemed the reproach of Christ as greater riches than all the treasures of Egypt. Moses saw a difference between  the people of  God  and the people of  the world.
Some people are more interested in making a dollar than they are in serving God. But spiritual things must come first if you are going to be spiritual. You must esteem the things of God —spiritual things—more than earthly things.
One qualification for prospering is to esteem earthly things lightly. You cannot put earthly things above spiritual things and expect to prosper as God desires you to.
No, it’s not wrong to have money. It’s wrong for money to have you. It’s wrong for money to be your ruler or master or for you to consume finances on your own lusts.
God wants you to prosper financially! But your prosperity depends on your  putting first things first. There are qualifications involved.
In the Old Testament, God told the Israelites to keep His  statutes and walk in His commandments (Deuteronomy  28). God desires the same for us today. To put God’s Word first and to walk in the truth is spiritual prosperity.
Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, John writes, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth” (3 John 2). In the next two verses, John goes on to say that he had no greater joy than to hear that God’s people are indeed walking in the truth of God’s Word.
God told the Israelites, “Walk in My statutes and keep My commandments. Do that which is right in My sight, and I’ll take sickness away from the midst of you, and the number of your days I will fulfill” (Exod. 15:26; 23:26). That’s physical prosperity or divine healing and health.
The Lord also talked to the Israelites about their “basket and store” being blessed, their barns being filled, and about them being the head and not the tail (Deut. 28:1-14; Prov. 3: 10 ) . That’s material prosperity. But notice their physical and material prosperity depended upon their spiritual prosperity.
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest PROSPER and BE IN HEALTH, EVEN AS THY SOUL PROSPERETH.
—3 John 2

John is  talking about financial or material  prosperity, physical prosperity, and spiritual prosperity. Notice that material and physical prosperity are dependent upon spiritual prosperity.

Put First Things First
The first Psalm is so beautiful and further confirms that God wants His people to prosper.
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall PROSPER.—Psalm 1 : 1 -3

So, you see, God wants us to prosper. However, our need is to evaluate things as they should be evaluated—to esteem earthly things lightly and to put first things first.
Folks could have faith for healing or for anything the Word of God promises—prosperity, a healthy, happy family, long life—if they would just put first things first.
Determine in your heart to put spiritual things first and to esteem earthly things lightly. Put God first, even before your own self. You’ll be blessed spiritually, physically, and in every way—you and your family as well.

TRUE MEN OF GOD INCLUDING PASTORS AND TEACHERS:
–  have a responsibility to teach the full Word of God, not just one part

THEIR PRIORITIES WILL BE
1. To preach the full Word of God
2. To get people born again
3. To get people Baptized with the Spirit
4. To get people operating in all the gifts of the Spirit
5. To get people healed and delivered
5a I would pray and lay hands on the sick, I would lay one hand on each side of the body. If I felt the fire jump from hand to hand, an evil spirit or demon was present in that body causing affliction. I should call him out in Jesus’ Name, and the demon or demons would have to go. If the fire, or the anointing, in my hands did not jump from hand to hand, it was a case of needing healing only.
I would pray for the person in Jesus’ Name, and if he would believe and accept it, the anointing would leave my hands and go into that person’s body, driving out the disease and bringing healing. When the fire or anointing left my hands and went into the person’s body, I would know he was healed

Spiritual Authority

29The Purpose of Spiritual Authority

Spiritual authority is defined as the right to make use of God’s power to enforce spiritual law, which is literally the Word of God. We have a responsibility to walk in this authority, but we must be careful not to let religion trick us into thinking that we are not an integral part of the promises found in the Word. Absolving ourselves from all responsibility actually takes us “out of the equation” by preventing God’s laws, which operate by faith, from materializing in our lives. These spiritual laws are just as real as physical laws—they are consistent and they do not fluctuate.

It is God’s will that we use the authority He gave us, and the Scriptures tell us how.
He wants everyone to repent, and no one to die (2 Peter 3:9).
When we wonder what God’s will is for our lives, we must remember that He is not inconsistent, blessing some but not others. His Word works the same every time.
The real reason good things do not come to pass in our lives is not because they are not His will, but because we do not use the authority He gave us.
We should submit to God and resist the devil (James 4:7, AMP).
Standing firm against him causes him to flee.
When we do not do this, or anything else the Bible tells us to do, we limit God.
The tongue controls the entire body. If we can tame it and learn to control what we say, we can be perfect (James 3:2).
Our speech is one example of how we have been given authority. When problems crop up, we can talk to the situation and take control.
God tells us that we have the authority to command the works of His hands (Isaiah 45:11).
The works of His hands are all the finished works of Jesus. They include healing, deliverance, prosperity, wholeness, and anything else we want.
When we have faith in this statement, our actions will reflect our belief.
In both the Old and New Testaments, we see examples of God’s power in action.
When God created the earth, He commanded the grass to grow, the herbs to yield seeds, and the fruit trees to yield fruit of their own kind (Genesis 1:11).
He created everything—including us—with the ability to procreate.
Jesus was on His way to heal Jairus’ twelve-year-old daughter when He was met by a woman who had suffered with the issue of bleeding for twelve years. When the woman touched Him, she was immediately healed. Just then, Jairus learned his daughter had died, but Jesus reassured him, continued on to his house, and spoke to the girl. She immediately arose and walked (Mark 5:25-42).
The woman’s strong belief in Jesus’ ability to heal her of bleeding directed her actions. She was desperate for relief.
Her faith, followed up by action, “flipped the switch” to activate God’s healing power.
The fact that Jesus temporarily changed His direction from Jairus’ house to search for the woman indicates that He was not in control of His ministry, but it was being controlled by people’s faith.
The devil worked through the person who told Jairus his daughter was dead, and through the people who laughed at Jesus when He said the girl was not dead. Jesus countered by telling Jairus not to fear, and putting the unbelievers out of the house.

How to Release Your Faith for Spiritual Authority

As Believers, it is good when we recognize we have spiritual authority, but we must also know how to use it. This authority goes beyond religion—it has to do with releasing our faith in spiritual laws. Authority is simply the right to use God’s power by enforcing these laws. Similar to earthly police officers who enforce the laws of the land, we have received authorization to enforce the laws of the spirit. This authority does not come from our performance, but directly from Jesus, Who is Grace personified.

Faith unlocks our God-given authority.
We have been given all authority and power, but we have a responsibility to keep our part of this covenant by speaking and walking in it.
God created men and women in His own image. He blessed them, gave them dominion over the earth and everything in it, and told them to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:27, 28).
Jesus said we can move mountains by speaking to them, but we must first believe in our heart that we are able to do this and can make it happen (Mark 11:23).
We must remember God, because He is the One who gave us the power to get wealth. This was to establish His covenant with us (Deuteronomy 8:18).
We can take action to make wealth come to pass in our lives, not through our own self-effort, but because we are expected to do our part according to God’s law of prosperity.
We need to understand how the spiritual laws of prosperity and wealth operate.
When we give, we receive in the same measure that we gave (Luke 6:38).
This is a specific instruction on how to activate these laws.
They only work if we believe enough to do what the Scriptures tell us to do in this area.
God commands blessings on us, and in everything we put our hand to. He will open heaven’s treasures to us (Deuteronomy 28:8, 12).
He promises to bless us, but we must put our hands to work to allow Him to do this.
If we do not work, we should not eat (2 Thessalonians 3:10).
When we step out in faith and begin working, God will honor our faith.

Spiritual Law Enforcement

During His earthly ministry, Jesus gave His followers the same authority that He had, and charged them with the responsibility to use it correctly. This authority covered everything in the earthly realm, and when He was resurrected, it was expanded to include everything in heaven as well as under the earth. This power has not diminished one bit over time, and God has now made it available to everyone on earth. Most people are unaware of this, but it does not change the fact that we are responsible for enforcing God’s spiritual laws. The devil tries to limit us by keeping us ignorant of what has been given to us, but when we as Believers realize how powerful we are, he will no longer be able to hold us down.

The authority that God gave to Jesus is the same authority that Jesus offers us.
Jesus gave the disciples power to cast out unclean spirits, heal the sick, and raise the dead. He also told them to preach the Gospel as they went (Matthew 10:1, 7, 8).
We have the power to take care of any disease or medical issue, just like the disciples did.
God has put this power under our control. This means we can command into existence in our lives whatever we want to see manifested, according to spiritual laws.
This commandment carries with it a promise, but it only operates by faith in God’s grace. Faith takes what grace has made available.
When we seek out God’s kingdom first, everything we want will come to us (Matthew 6:33).
The kingdom of God operates according to His spiritual laws. We must delve into the Word to learn what those laws say about what our lives should be like, and then enforce those laws.
Whatever blessings we see in the physical realm originate from the spirit realm.
We should remember that God is the One Who gives us power to get wealth, in order to establish His covenant with us (Deuteronomy 8:18).
This includes not only in our finances, but in every other area of our lives as well.
Although He provided the power, we have the responsibility to “flip the switch” for the manifestation to take place.
Whatever it is we give will be returned to us in much greater proportions than what we gave (Luke 6:38).
With our finances, the “switch” is the act of giving, like the Bible instructs us to do.

MY SERVANT

not forgottenThe Teacher and Helper

“But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. Mark 13:11

But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. 1 John 2:27

The Holy Spirit that was on Jesus not only worked miracles for Him but gave Him the words to say to people. The bible records about Jesus:

And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.” Mark 7:37

“For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure. “The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand.  “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”  John 3:34-36

“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63

“I have many things to say and to judge concerning you, but He who sent Me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I heard from Him.” John 8:26

Jesus walked the earth as a Son of Man and the Son of God and the words He spoke He spoke by the Spirit of God. The things He did He did by the Spirit and authority of God and there is life and death in His words. Life for those who will receive them and death to those who ignore them.  For God’s word is unchanging:

Then Jesus said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things. John 8:28

“I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.”  John 8:38

“You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. John 8:44

“For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. John 12:49

Now foolish  carnal men do not appreciate the authority and anointing that God by His Spirit gives to His anointed ones. Even though God’s word states:

Then the LORD put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the LORD said to me:  Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.   See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms,  To root out and to pull down,  To destroy and to throw down,  To build and to plant.”  Jeremiah 1:9-10

Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region. Luke 4:14

Then they were all amazed and spoke among themselves, saying, “What a word this is! For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come

“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19

God gives His anointed ones  authority and power over nations and over the kingdoms,  to root out and to pull down,  to destroy and to throw down,  to build and to plant. He gives them authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt them.

Now all of this is quite some power and authority that when used brings major changes to nations and kingdoms. But this is what God wants and He taught His people to pray accordingly:

Our Father in heaven,  Hallowed be Your name.  Your kingdom come.  Your will be done  On earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts,  As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation,  But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Matthew 6:9-13

For the kingdom and power and glory belongs to God and it’s His kingdom that is important and must come and not those of men. Men do not understand the value and purpose of prayer and the power God has given them even though Jesus clearly told them:

Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,  saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man.  “Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’  “And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man,  ‘yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ ”

Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. “And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?  “I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:1-8

God has promised to bring changes on earth and even avenge His true ones speedily when they pray for justice, righteousness and equity. For justice and righteousness are always on the heart of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. For God’s word is unchanging:

And the LORD said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing,  “since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?  “For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice, that the LORD may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.”

And the LORD said, “Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave,  “I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me; and if not, I will know.”

Then the men turned away from there and went toward Sodom, but Abraham still stood before the LORD.  Genesis 18:17-22

Yes the job of the Holy Spirit is to tell His true ones of things to come. For God does nothing  unless He speaks to the prophets such as Abraham. The bible records for our instruction and profit:

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. “And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:  “of sin, because they do not believe in Me; “of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more;  “of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.  “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.

“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.  “He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. “All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you. John 16:7-15

God cannot fully bless many of His Children because they are full of impurities that will distort the blessings He has given them and they will go astray. So He gives them only what they can handle without corrupting it too much. If they want great things and He  knows they do, they must trust Him greatly. They must cleanse themselves before Him first and then they will receive great things. Then these great things will become greater and brighter and stronger if they will totally surrender their filthy, selfish, ambitious ways to God. He will cleanse their opinions and ways and turn them on the right path and then bless them beyond their wildest dreams. This is God’s  way!

God has  called many of His Children to receive all of Himself in the Power of the Holy Spirit and they have corrupted it. They have stolen money for themselves from the sheep whom He has given into their hands to protect and comfort. They have taken from the widow and placed it in their own pockets. They have dressed themselves marvelously and drive great big magnificent cars and forgotten the widow they took the money from. They have pushed her aside and strut about as beautifully plumbed peacock—proud of their “accomplishments.” If they could only look inside they would see what God sees they would  cover their shame and “nakedness!”

Yet, God has mercy on His unfaithful Children and have travailed long with them putting them in positions of authority. Yet they have so often failed God not recognizing their shameful ways before Him. It is by grace that anyone is saved and it is by grace that anyone continues to live by faith. This is each person’s choice each day of their lives.

God  has  not turned from His children as long as they don’t commit sin that hurts others such as sexual or financial sins. But one of the greatest sins God’s  church continues in, almost freely, is the sin of deceiving others with false teachings. Something which Apostle Paul prophesied and warned:

“Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men. “For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God.  “Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.

“For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. “Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.

“Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.

“So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.  “I have coveted no one’s silver or gold or apparel. “Yes, you yourselves know that these hands have provided for my necessities, and for those who were with me.

“I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ” Acts 20:26-35

Men have learnt something and teach it to others making them more sons of hell than themselves.  For this will be punished and dealt with.  For God is still in control and this is the Age of miracles. The time for change has come and His word is unchanging:

My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.

For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body.

Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles!

And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. or every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind.  But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. James 3:1-8

UPON ALL FLESH

all fleshDigging Up The Wells

And Isaac dug again the wells of water which they had dug in the days of Abraham his father, for the Philistines had stopped them up after the death of Abraham. He called them by the names which his father had called them. Also Isaac’s servants dug in the valley, and found a well of running water there. Genesis 26:18-19

God has been moving on many of His choice anointed servants to dig up again the wells of His truths that had been lost over the years and were a blessing to many. Rod Parsley, pastor of World Harvest Church in Columbus, Ohio, a dynamic mega-church with more than 12,000 in attendance weekly,  discussed on a Christian Television talk show  why believers must return to the true wells of salvation, the wellsprings of spiritual strength,  and shared  why prayer is mandatory to please God:

The Bible has much to say about wells. Jesus revealed himself as the Messiah to the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well (John 4), and it was at a well at the pool of Bethesda where the angel troubled the waters (John 5:2-4). For nations throughout history, wells have brought both blessing and burden. Great cultures have flourished when water was pure and plentiful; others have collapsed when the wells ran dry, became polluted, or were overtaken by an enemy. Wells gave life. Few people today can truly appreciate what these wells meant to whole societies. Genesis chronicles the stories of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as they grew and prospered when well water was plentiful. It shares how envy from the Philistines, Isaac’s enemies (Genesis 26:14-15) caused them to plug up these life-giving wells. The Bible says God’s people were required to walk upon the land if they wanted to possess it. After they walked to claim it, they had to sow seed to possess it. But it is useless to sow seed in an arid land if a well isn’t dug first.

The Christian road is strewn with people who sow seed but don’t bother to dig a well to irrigate and sustain the life and growth of that seed. As you steadfastly seek to open new spiritual wells of God in your life, He will perpetually bring fresh waters of joyful rejuvenation to you.

There are 10 spiritual wells dug by our spiritual fathers who went before us – 10 landmarks, or doctrines, that the enemy has patiently worked day and night to clog up. These wells are the teachings as revealed to the Body of Christ. The enemy uses distractions such as financial woes, health concerns, fright over rumors of war, even worry about growing old. The Bible remains the most important book in the world, one with the power to divide or unite people.

When God’s Word is stolen, watered down, explained away, misrepresented, or somehow withheld or isolated from believers, the church will suffer. In 1517 Martin Luther took a stand against the Church’s practice of selling “indulgences” and ignited a reformation when he wrote his “95 Theses.” He proclaimed the Scriptures to be the only authority that sinful man could look for God’s will; he proclaimed the priesthood of all believers and proclaimed boldly that “the just shall live by his faith.” The Bible is the cornerstone upon which all doctrine rests. Holiness before the Lord is not an option.

“Men ought always to pray, and not to faint” (Luke 18:1). All of the great leaders of the Bible drank at the oldest well of our fathers – the ancient well of effectual and fervent prayer. Abraham prayed that God would spare the wicked cites from His wrath. David spent time in prayer both before and after he became king of Israel. The prophet Daniel made prayer such a daily discipline that his enemies were able to predict the time of day when he would be on his knees (Daniel 6:10-11). Even the King of Glory, Jesus Himself, drank continually from the well of prayer.

Prayer has been the backbone of godly revelation, action, and power since the beginning of time. It will continue to be the foundation even when time is no more and we are ushered into God’s presence to spend eternity there. In Revelation, the heavenly prayers of the saints become fragrant offerings that move the heart of God and signal cataclysmic changes in heaven and earth. Without prayer, the church is lifeless. Why do we think we can live the victorious Christian life without prayer just to go from day to day? Pay the price; seek His face; surrender all to Him. The secret to power in the midst of the stress of your everyday life is to learn to pray and not faint. [i]

God’s people need to get the aggressive attitude of Elisha who was a nobody, an ordinary farmer who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him. And then Elijah passed by him and threw his mantle on him and anointed him to kill the God’s enemies. The bible records:

Then the LORD said to him: “Go, return on your way to the Wilderness of Damascus; and when you arrive, anoint Hazael as king over Syria. “Also you shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi as king over Israel. And Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place.  “It shall be that whoever escapes the sword of Hazael, Jehu will kill; and whoever escapes the sword of Jehu, Elisha will kill.  “Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.”

So he departed from there, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he was with the twelfth. Then Elijah passed by him and threw his mantle on him.  And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah, and said, “Please let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” And he said to him, “Go back again, for what have I done to you?”  So Elisha turned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen and slaughtered them and boiled their flesh, using the oxen’s equipment, and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and followed Elijah, and became his servant.  1 Kings 19:15-21

Yes when Elisha was anointed he gave up all and became Elijah’s servant. He personally learned and understood the difference that an anointing from God did in Elijah’s life including calling down the fire from heaven to destroy twice fifty men who were sent by the king to get him ( 2 Kings 1:9-15) and the need to have a greater anointing. Jesus who was born of the Spirit didn’t minister in miracles, signs and wonders until He received His anointing (Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 20:22-23) Jesus baptized His disciples with the same baptism/anointing that He was baptized with ( Mark 1:8, Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:15-20, John 1:33)  He commanded His disciples 1:4  not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He told them about ‘for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.’ He said to them, ‘It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth’ (Acts 1:4-8, Acts 2:1-4) God’s word is true:

“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.” Luke 4:18-19

“Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, “by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”

And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God with boldness. Acts 4:29-31

Yes, it’s the anointing from God that enables His servants to preach the gospel to the poor in the power of God and to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD. Yes, it’s the anointing that causes them to speak God’s word with all boldness, to do miracles, to heal and do signs and wonders  done through the name of Jesus. So when it came time for Elijah to depart into heaven by a whirlwind Elisha stayed close to him and would not leave him until he received a double portion of Elijah’s anointing.  Elisha was there when Elijah took his mantle, rolled it up, and struck the water; and it was divided this way and that, so that the two of them could cross over on dry ground. The bible records:

And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?” Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.”

So he said, “You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.”

Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.   And Elisha saw it, and he cried out, “My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!” So he saw him no more. And he took hold of his own clothes and tore them into two pieces.  He also took up the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and went back and stood by the bank of the Jordan. Then he took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, and said, “Where is the LORD God of Elijah?” And when he also had struck the water, it was divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over.

Now when the sons of the prophets who were from Jericho saw him, they said, “The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.” And they came to meet him, and bowed to the ground before him. 2 Kings 2:9-15

The anointing that was on Elijah was transferred to Elisha in a double portion. As a result Elisha also took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, and said, “Where is the LORD God of Elijah?” And when he  had struck the water, it was divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over on dry ground. Elisha demonstrated the power of his new anointing  by healing the waters of the city and cursing his enemies. The bible records:

Then the men of the city said to Elisha, “Please notice, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the ground barren.”  And he said, “Bring me a new bowl, and put salt in it.” So they brought it to him.  Then he went out to the source of the water, and cast in the salt there, and said, “Thus says the LORD: ‘I have healed this water; from it there shall be no more death or barrenness.’ ”  So the water remains healed to this day, according to the word of Elisha which he spoke.

Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up the road, some youths came from the city and mocked him, and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!”  So he turned around and looked at them, and pronounced a curse on them in the name of the LORD. And two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths. 2 Kings 2:10-24

The bible records that Elisha did double the amount of miracles that Elijah did and greater ones including financial miracles. The bible records for our profit and instruction:

A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.”

So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”

Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors-empty vessels; do not gather just a few. “And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.”

So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”  2 Kings 4:1-8

Yes, the anointing of God causes true men of God to say and do unusual things!  Many evangelical Christians get very upset at the idea that an anointed man of God can curse people, especially youths, and cause them to be destroyed like Elisha did. They don’t understand or appreciate that down through the ages using His many prophets God cursed, not blessed, the evil and wicked ones who robbed the needy of justice, who robbed the poor of God’s people and who were arrogant, proud, rebellious and blind to the fact that there would be a day of punishment for them. The bible records:

“Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, Who write misfortune, Which they have prescribed  To rob the needy of justice,  And to take what is right from the poor of My people, That widows may be their prey,  And that they may rob the fatherless. What will you do in the day of punishment, And in the desolation which will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help?  And where will you leave your glory?  Without Me they shall bow down among the prisoners,  And they shall fall among the slain.”  For all this His anger is not turned away,  But His hand is stretched out still. Isaiah 10:1-4

It is also a fact that Jesus Christ as the Chief Prophet also cursed the evil and wicked ones. He told them they were serpents, brood of vipers who would not escape the condemnation of hell (Matthew 23:33)! The bible records for our profit and instruction:

“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves. Matthew 23:13-15

Many of these same religious leaders look to the secular ones as evil and wicked ones and never consider the fact that they themselves are evil and wicked ones in God’s eyes, especially when they reject God’s best in all things including a great anointing to ministry in the power of signs and wonders and accept in their place doctrines of demons and men. As a result they become blind ones who are leading the blinds into the ditch not bearing lasting fruit for the kingdom of God.

Had they humbled themselves before God and allowed Him to open their eyes they would not have been cursed ones but blessed ones who would have not only have gone into the promised land of the Spirit but would have led many others with them. Just like the children of Israel who were delivered out of Egypt and never went into the Promised Land, many religious leaders are living their lives in a spiritual and financial wilderness of their own choosing.  The Lord was not pleased with the servant who buried his one talent while He was pleased with the servant who used his five talents to get five more (Matthew 25:24-29)? So there is no glory in accepting from God the bottom of the barrel when God’s richest blessings and anointing were available for the taking by faith? God’s word is unchanging:

“how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8

Men judge themselves by themselves and in regards to others, but God judges them by His word and their reaction to His word! He judges them for their failure to be all that they could be and to have all that they could have especially the same anointing that was on Jesus. We have a good example in the life of king Joash who settled for less when he could have had more.

King Joash  did evil in the sight of the LORD, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who had made Israel sin. He did not depart from them. As a result the anger of the LORD was aroused against Israel, and He delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Ben-Hadad the son of Hazael, all their days. The bible records:

Elisha had become sick with the illness of which he would die. Then Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over his face, and said, “O my father, my father, the chariots of Israel and their horsemen!”  And Elisha said to him, “Take a bow and some arrows.” So he took himself a bow and some arrows. Then he said to the king of Israel, “Put your hand on the bow.” So he put his hand on it, and Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands.  And he said, “Open the east window”; and he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot”; and he shot. And he said, “The arrow of the LORD’S deliverance and the arrow of deliverance from Syria; for you must strike the Syrians at Aphek till you have destroyed them.”  Then he said, “Take the arrows”; so he took them. And he said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground”; so he struck three times, and stopped.  And the man of God was angry with him, and said, “You should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck Syria till you had destroyed it! But now you will strike Syria only three times.”

Then Elisha died, and they buried him. And the raiding bands from Moab invaded the land in the spring of the year.  So it was, as they were burying a man, that suddenly they spied a band of raiders; and they put the man in the tomb of Elisha; and when the man was let down and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and stood on his feet.  And Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz. 2 Kings 13:14-22

Elisha was furious that king Joash for no good reason only struck the ground with the arrows three times instead of five or six times. Then he would have struck Syria till he had destroyed it! Similarly many of God’s people don’t press in with God to get all their needed answers and miracles and are satisfied with insignificant victories. They could have had a lot more if they had only believed and asked God for more ( Matthew 7:11, Matthew 12:35, Luke 1:53, Hebrews 6:1-9).

It’s to be noted that even in his death Elisha caused a dead man to revive and come back to life. The bible records that three times Joash defeated the king of Syria and recaptured the cities of Israel:

But the LORD was gracious to them, had compassion on them, and regarded them, because of His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not yet destroy them or cast them from His presence.  Now Hazael king of Syria died. Then Ben-Hadad his son reigned in his place. And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz recaptured from the hand of Ben-Hadad, the son of Hazael, the cities which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times Joash defeated him and recaptured the cities of Israel. 2 Kings 13:23-25

ELIJAH AND MORDECAI

fruitThe LORD Saves His Anointed

Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven  With the saving strength of His right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;   But we will remember the name of the LORD our God. Psalm 20:6-7

Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. James 5:17

Very few have understood the unique ministry that God had given Elijah to contend with evil and wicked king Ahab and his murderous thieving wife Queen Jezebel. God had also given Esther and Mordecai a unique ministry to contend with egotistical Prime Minister Haman. As a result of their efforts Haman and his ten sons were hanged on the gallows and the Jewish people were saved from annihilation from their enemies. The bible records:

So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king’s wrath subsided. Esther 7:10

Then King Ahasuerus said to Queen Esther and Mordecai the Jew, “Indeed, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and they have hanged him on the gallows because he tried to lay his hand on the Jews. Esther 8:7

Then Esther said, “If it pleases the king, let it be granted to the Jews who are in Shushan to do again tomorrow according to today’s decree, and let Haman’s ten sons be hanged on the gallows.” 9:14 So the king commanded this to be done; the decree was issued in Shushan, and they hanged Haman’s ten sons. Esther 9:13-14

God doesn’t call all His servants to be on stage in honor before rulers and governors. Apostle Paul was prisoner when he testified about the grace of God before Governor Felix and Porcius Festus, King Agrippa and in Rome before Caesar. Just like Elijah, Esther and Mordecai, some of God’s best and choicest servants are called to contend with the evil and wicked ones putting their own lives in danger like Paul did many times. But God’s always protects His anointed ones who lay down their lives on the line to deliver God’s people from evil and wicked ones. Mind you they are subject to human emotions resulting from fear, unbelief, and betrayal.

Elijah who walked in the power of God and saw mighty miracles including the stoppage of rain for three years fled into the wilderness out of fear when Queen Jezebel threatened to kill him. Elijah had been an arch enemy of they tyrant King Ahab and when the fire of God came down from heaven he had all the false prophets of Baal slain. Then he told king Ahab “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” 1 Kings 18 18:40-41 So while Ahab went up to eat and drink Elijah went up to the top of Carmel, bowed down on the ground, and  prayed seven times until a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rose out of the sea! And them it happened that the sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain after an absence of three years.

At his word God had stopped the rain and the Lord directed him to hide by the Brook Cherith where the ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook. And when the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land the Lord commanded him to go to Zarephath, where a widow provided for him. 1 Samuel 17:3-15. The widow had only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar. But miraculous the bin of flour was not be used up, nor did  the jar of oil run dry, until the day the LORD sent rain on the earth. Elijah had also performed a momentous miracle, when he brought back to life the widow’s son who had died (1 Kings 17:22). Elijah was a prophet of God who was the first prophet to raise a dead man alive. Yet, before Queen Jezebel he trembled in fear. According to God’s promise, (Isaiah 51:16; 49:2; Jeremiah 36:26) ever since He made Elijah a prophet before the people, for three years the Lord sheltered him in the shadow of His right hand (Isaiah 51:16; 49:2; Jeremiah 36:26). But when fear gripped his soul, Elijah forgot in a moment how God had been protecting him and how God had been in his spirit within him. He fled for his life. That is why the Bible says, “Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months” (James 5:7).

God’s trusting ones are not to be surprised or dejected when they are overcome by fear, it’s part of being human. It is only a passing phase. Soon the Holy Spirit will come down and cast away all fear. He will make them  stand up bold as a lion so they too can chase the devil, heal the sick and perform several of the Lord’s miracles to the people with the Lord’s power. They too can bring this light into so many who are groping in darkness. In all these paths that they go through, the Lord will shield them.

The God of Elijah understands when His trusting ones are sometimes in fear and with a broken heart.  And He will not rebuke them but He will hold them up with His gentle hands and heal and restore them just as He did for Elijah. His word is unchanging:

A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth. Isaiah 42:3

Then they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, “Sit here while I pray.”  And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed.  Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch.” Mark 14:32-34

Jesus Christ In the garden of Gethsamane when He was about to be nailed on the cross, He was gripped by a deadly fear. “He began to be troubled and deeply distressed”  His soul was, “exceedingly sorrowful, even to death”. So, He knows and understands what it s to be troubled and deeply distress and will cast away all their fears! He who has overcome the world will help them overcome all things. They are not to lose heart but are to be of good cheer for He will also give them the victory! He is after all their loving Father? God’s word is unchanging;

“The sun shall no longer be your light by day,  Nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you;  But the LORD will be to you an everlasting light, And your God your glory. Your sun shall no longer go down,  Nor shall your moon withdraw itself;  For the LORD will be your everlasting light, And the days of your mourning shall be ended.  Also your people shall all be righteous; They shall inherit the land forever,  The branch of My planting,  The work of My hands, That I may be glorified. A little one shall become a thousand,  And a small one a strong nation.  I,  the LORD, will hasten it in its time.” Isaiah 60:19-22

So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s,  “who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time-houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions-and in the age to come, eternal life. Mark 10:29-30

ON MY HIGH HILLS

my strength The Warrior

And it shall come to pass that he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called holy-everyone who is recorded among the living in Jerusalem.  When the Lord has washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and purged the blood of Jerusalem from her midst, by the spirit of judgment and by the spirit of burning,  then the LORD will create above every dwelling place of Mount Zion, and above her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night. For over all the glory there will be a covering.  And there will be a tabernacle for shade in the daytime from the heat, for a place of refuge, and for a shelter from storm and rain.  Isaiah 4:3-6

The Holy Spirit has been portrayed as a gentle dove who will not harm anyone just like Jesus who has been portrayed as the good shepherd who carries a lamb in His arms. But these are  half truths for both Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are men of war and can be and are many times quite adversarial.  As a matter of fact God’s word records:

In that day the LORD of hosts will be  For a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty  To the remnant of His people,  For a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment,  And for strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate. Isaiah 28:5-6

Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD,  Or as His counselor has taught Him?  With whom did He take counsel, and who instructed Him,  And taught Him in the path of justice?  Who taught Him knowledge,  And showed Him the way of understanding? Isaiah 40:13-14

“Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. “For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; “and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’

“He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.  “And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. “He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it. Matthew 10:34-39

The sword, the spirit of justice and the spirit of judgment are not something that men associate with the Holy Spirit or Jesus Christ. But one thing for sure the Holy Spirit is quite divisive and adversarial and does not put up with certain things. He does deal  very harshly with His adversaries, even to the point of taking their life.

We have a few  good examples of this in the bible  in the life of Moses, Elijah, Stephen and Paul. The bible records:

So it was, as soon as he came near the camp, that he saw the calf and the dancing. So Moses’ anger became hot, and he cast the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain.  Then he took the calf which they had made, burned it in the fire, and ground it to powder; and he scattered it on the water and made the children of Israel drink it.

And Moses said to Aaron, “What did this people do to you that you have brought so great a sin upon them?”

So Aaron said, “Do not let the anger of my lord become hot. You know the people, that they are set on evil.  “For they said to me, ‘Make us gods that shall go before us; as for this Moses, the man who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.’  “And I said to them, ‘Whoever has any gold, let them break it off.’ So they gave it to me, and I cast it into the fire, and this calf came out.”

Now when Moses saw that the people were unrestrained (for Aaron had not restrained them, to their shame among their enemies),  then Moses stood in the entrance of the camp, and said, “Whoever is on the LORD’S side-come to me.” And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together to him.  And he said to them, “Thus says the LORD God of Israel: ‘Let every man put his sword on his side, and go in and out from entrance to entrance throughout the camp, and let every man kill his brother, every man his companion, and every man his neighbor.’ ”

So the sons of Levi did according to the word of Moses. And about three thousand men of the people fell that day.

Then Moses said, “Consecrate yourselves today to the LORD, that He may bestow on you a blessing this day, for every man has opposed his son and his brother.” Exodus 32:19-21

Moses when He saw that the people made a gold calf and worshipped it and that the people were unrestrained (said, “Whoever is on the LORD’S side-come to me.” Then he instructed the sons of Levi  ‘Let every man put his sword on his side, and go in and out from entrance to entrance throughout the camp, and let every man kill his brother, every man his companion, and every man his neighbor.’  So the sons of Levi did according to the word of Moses.

Now killing the false rebellious people of God and being blessed by God for it is something that few Christian leaders ever talk about even though Elijah, Jesus and Peter have done it.  For the bible records:

And it came to pass, at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near and said, “LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your word.  “Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that You are the LORD God, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again.”

Then the fire of the LORD fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench.

Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, “The LORD, He is God! The LORD, He is God!”

And Elijah said to them, “Seize the prophets of Baal! Do not let one of them escape!” So they seized them; and Elijah brought them down to the Brook Kishon and executed them there.

Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” 1 Kings 18:36-41

As a result of the anointing that was on him, Elijah ordered the prophets of Baal to be executed. Few religious leaders ever talk about the fact that Elijah’s anointing of the Holy Spirit was one to kill the enemies of God. Even though God’s word records:

Then the LORD said to him: “Go, return on your way to the Wilderness of Damascus; and when you arrive, anoint Hazael as king over Syria. “Also you shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi as king over Israel. And Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place.

It shall be that whoever escapes the sword of Hazael, Jehu will kill; and whoever escapes the sword of Jehu, Elisha will kill. “Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him. 1 Kings 19:15-18

The sword of the Spirit is the word of God and is an offensive weapon and Jesus used it very effectively on the lawyers, scribes and Pharisees of His day. He truthful told them that they were liars, thieves, rapists, murderers, bind guides, hypocrites, brood of vipers, sons of hell, among other things who would not escape the condemnation of hell. Jesus did not bless them but cursed them and said to them:

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.

“Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence.  “Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness.  “Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. Matthew 23:23-28

Jesus told them their converts were twice as much as son of hell as themselves and that they had neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. They appeared beautiful outwardly, but inside were full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. They outwardly appeared righteous to men, but inside were full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.  They never escaped the judgment at the hands of God’s other ministers, the Roman soldiers in 70 AD, and paid with their lives and possession for ignoring the words of Jesus.

Stephen the first martyr of the New testament church expressed the same sentiments in his words about the Pharisaical ones who  have always fought with the Holy Spirit:

“You stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you.  “Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers,  “who have received the law by the direction of angels and have not kept it.”

When they heard these things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth.

But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God,  and said, “Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!”

Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord;  and they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. Acts 7:51-58

Of course Pharisaical ones cannot stand to hear the truth and be convicted by the Holy Spirit as a result so they murder the messengers and later pay for their foolishness in the judgments of God that follow. For judgments of God always follow. God’s word records:

Justice is turned back,  And righteousness stands afar off;  For truth is fallen in the street,  And equity cannot enter.  So truth fails,  And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey.

Then the LORD saw it, and it displeased Him  That there was no justice.  He saw that there was no man,  And wondered that there was no intercessor; Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him;  And His own righteousness, it sustained Him. For He put on righteousness as a breastplate,  And a helmet of salvation on His head;  He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing,  And was clad with zeal as a cloak.

According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay,  Fury to His adversaries,  Recompense to His enemies;  The coastlands He will fully repay.  So shall they fear  The name of the LORD from the west,  And His glory from the rising of the sun;  When the enemy comes in like a flood,  The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him. Isaiah 59:14-19

According to their deeds, the Lord by the Spirit of the Lord fully repays fury to His adversaries, and recompense to His enemies. He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, so  shall they fear the name of the Lord.

Yes God fights even with His own people. The bible records:

For He said, “Surely they are My people,  Children who will not lie.”  So He became their Savior.  In all their affliction He was afflicted,  And the Angel of His Presence saved them;  In His love and in His pity He redeemed them;  And He bore them and carried them  All the days of old.

But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit;  So He turned Himself against them as an enemy,  And He fought against them. Isaiah 63:8-10

Now some foolish ones do not believe that God judges harshly His people under the New Testament dispensation of Grace. But nothing is further from the truth. For God’s word records for our profit and instruction:

But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession.  And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? “While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”

Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things.  And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him. Acts 5:1-6

What God has done once before He can and will do again. For He is the God who kills and makes alive.  He brings down to the grave and brings up.  He  makes poor and makes rich. He brings low and lifts up.  He guards the feet of His saints, and  breaks into pieces His adversaries.  From heaven He  thunders against them when  He judges the ends of the earth.  He give strength to His king, and exalts the horn of His anointed. His word is unchanging:

For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.

Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The LORD will judge His people.”  It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:26-31

PROSPERITY

1DANIEL PROSPERED IN CAPTIVITY BECAUSE GOD DELIVERS AND RESCUES AND WORKS SIGNS AND WONDERS

Daniel 6:24 And the king gave the command, and they brought those men who had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions — them, their children, and their wives; and the lions overpowered them, and broke all their bones in pieces before they ever came to the bottom of the den.
25 Then King Darius wrote: To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth:  Peace be multiplied to you.
26 I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, And steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, And His dominion shall endure to the end.
27  He delivers and rescues, And He works signs and wonders In heaven and on earth, Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
28 So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

Romans 15:4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

Innocent praying God trusting righteous Daniel prospered in  Babylonian captivity through the reign of different rulers and he was even delivered from the den of lions that his jealous envious peers had put him into. However his enemies were not so fortunate with the same lions and, for they brought those men who had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions — them, their children, and their wives; and the lions overpowered them, and broke all their bones in pieces before they ever came to the bottom of the den.

Yes God to whom belongs  the greatness, the power and the glory, the victory and the majesty;for all that is in heaven and in earth is His; His is the kingdom,   He is  exalted as head over all and He is able to save, heal, deliver, bless and prosper His trusting Children no matter what negative situation that they find themselves in! His word is true:

Hebrews 11:30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days.
31 By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace.
32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets:
33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
35 Women received their dead raised to life again. Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.
36 Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment.
37  They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented —
38 of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.
39 And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise,

GOD IS NOT POOR AND NEITHER SHOULD HIS CHILDREN BE

Psalms 105:37 He also brought them out with silver and gold, And there was none feeble among His tribes.

Isaiah 54:1 “Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate Than the children of the married woman,” says the LORD.
2  ” Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes.
3  For you shall expand to the right and to the left, And your descendants will inherit the nations, And make the desolate cities inhabited.
4  ” Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed; Neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame; For you will forget the shame of your youth, And will not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore.
5  For your Maker is your husband, The LORD of hosts is His name; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth.

Galatians 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Beloved, Christ has redeemed you from sickness, lack, and destructive situations, so that the blessings of Abraham can come upon you! The power and the glory, the victory and the majesty and all that is in heaven and in earth is the LORD and He has given it to His blood bought children who are to receive it by faith and spend it for the furthering of His kingdom. Poverty and sickness are to be rejected by God’s people as from the devil. They are to seek from God His richest, honor, power and might for it’s God who gives every good thing. Yes, God’s children must take a step of faith and to believe God to reverse and restore all things to them including their health, wealth, good name and power just like they took a step of faith to be saved. And the good news is that the very moment they pray, God gives them the answer. That very moment God hears them and He commands His angels to bring the answer to them. However they are living in a spiritual warfare where a war goes on and their enemy, the devil, will try to delay the answer from coming through to them

As a result we can proclaim by faith Jehovah-Jireh will provide; Jehovah-Rapha will heal;Jehovah-Shalom will send peace; Jehovah-Tsidkenu will justify; Jehovah-Shammah will be forever near; and in Jehovah-Nissi we will conquer every foe.

Yes. if it matters to you, it matters to God! No care is too small to bring to your heavenly Father. God has provided everything we need in this life & in the life to come—forgiveness of sins, healing, victory, deliverance, & prosperity. God is so good!

Yes beloved, our God is a BIG God of abundance and inexhaustible supply. He is the Possessor of heaven and earth. He is El Shaddai—the Almighty, all-sufficient and all-nourishing one! AND IN CHRIST, THE ABUNDANCE OF GOD’S WISDOM, WEALTH, RICHES, POWER, FAVOR, ABILITY, STRENGTH AND CREATIVITY THAT YOU NEED FOR A SUCCESSFUL FAMILY, CAREER AND MINISTRY, ARE  OURS TO EXPERIENCE AND ENJOY AS PER PH 4:19

Hence we can boldly proclaim,”In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God. Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah  Surely men of low degree are a vapor, Men of high degree are a lie; If they are weighed on the scales,  They are altogether lighter than vapor. Do not trust in oppression,  Nor vainly hope in robbery;  If riches increase,  Do not set your heart on them.  God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this:  That power belongs to God. Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy; For You render to each one according to his work.” Psalm 62:7-12
